"You really need to try these!" Silverstreak said, shoving a box of copper crunchies under Prowl's nose.
Prowl took a handful of them before sitting down next to X-Brawn on the rim of the pool. X-Brawn was stretched out on his back while Smokescreen was sitting on the other side of him dangling his feet into the pool. So far, none of them had made any attempt to actually go swimming.
"How's boot camp been going, little brother?" X-Brawn asked, not bothering to open his eyes.
"Not bad". Prowl replied. "Pretty tough sometimes".
"Yep-yep", X-Brawn agreed. "But I know you can handle it. You've got what it takes to be a top-notch Autobot".
"Thanks", Prowl said, feeling slightly embarrassed by his brother's praise.
"CANNONBALL!"
To their surprise, someone lept into the pool, creating a huge splash that covered the four head to toe.
"Sideburn, I tell you what!" X-Brawn said angrily, swiping the water from his face as Sideburn popped his head out of the pool wearing a broad grin.
"What's the matter? Scared of a little water?" Sideburn asked, using his hands to splash more water at his brothers and cousin.
"You better be scared of me if you don't cut that out!" X-Brawn said. Sideburn laughed then disappeared under the water again.
X-Brawn shook his head then laid down again.
"Isn't this reunion stuff great?!" Bluestreak asked, walking over to the group and plopping down next to Prowl. He gave his twin a light punch in the arm. "Perk up, bro! You've been wearing that frown all day!"
"Not everybody likes to be in the spotlight as much as you do". Smokescreen said, defending Prowl.
Bluestreak gave Prowl another good-natured punch, having forgotten that his twin could be painfully shy in large groups.
Nitro burst out of the hotel and gave a long sigh. He looked frazzled.
"Man, am I glad to get a break from that bunch!" he said, making his way over to his cousins.
"How did you get away from Spyframe?" Smokescreen asked.
"I told her Clocker had been looking for her". Nitro said with a smirk.
Everyone gave a short laugh, knowing Clocker also did his best to avoid his opinionated aunt.
"I'm glad she's not my relative!" Silverstreak said, turning the box of copper crunchies up to pour the last remaining crumbs into his mouth.
Sideburn popped his head out of the water again. "Isn't anyone gonna get in the pool?" he asked. "Or are you all just gonna sit there like lumps on a log?"
"Stop bugging us". Smokescreen said, continuing to dangle his feet in the pool.
Sideburn disappeared under the water once more. Suddenly, Smokescreen gave a yelp as he was pulled by his legs into the pool. Everyone peered into the pool as Smokescreen came up out of the water coughing and Sideburn popped up next to him.
"You dummy!" Smokescreen coughed. He then shoved his younger brother's head under the water.
"That was mean!" Sideburn said, as he came back to the surface sputtering.
Smokescreen and Sideburn were soon engaged in a battle, using their hands to splash water on each other.
"Here you all are!" Clocker said, walking over to the pool, followed by his brother, Ditch.
"How'd you get away from Spyframe?" X-Brawn asked.
"I told her your mother had been wanting some advice on the best way to make chrome-alloy cake". Clocker smirked, taking a swig of Engex. "That argument oughta keep 'em both busy for a while".
"Thought we'd never get away from Spyframe!" Ditch said, watching his nephews continue to try dunking each other under the water.
"Anyway, I've had it with that social gathering". Clocker said, settling himself down on the rim of the pool. "I've lost track of how many times someone has asked me if I've changed alt-modes".
"Who says we can't just have our own reunion out here?" Ditch asked.
"Sounds like a plan to me". Clocker agreed, continuing to drink his Engex.
"Come on, Prowl!" Bluestreak said, shoving his twin into the pool.
"Bluestreak!" Prowl yelped as he splashed into the pool.
X-Brawn laughed. "Ya know, maybe I oughta give swimming another try". He then jumped into the pool splashing water onto Sideburn who had just surfaced.
"That went in my mouth!" Sideburn squawked.
"Make room for us!" Silverstreak said as he and Nitro jumped into the pool.
Clocker and Ditch laughed as they watched the younger mechs enjoying themselves. They stopped abruptly when they heard a voice approaching.
"Clocker? Ditch? Are you out here?" Spyframe called.
Within seconds, the two brothers had dived into the pool and hid under the water. When everyone else heard Spyframe coming they did the same.
"Prowl? Sideburn?" Spyframe called, walking over to the pool. "Hmp, I was sure I heard them out here…" She then walked back into the hotel, having caught sight of one of her other nephews. "Gearshift, wait! Did you change alt-modes?"
