My name is Delia Smith and my dad is the mafia boss of dauntless max smith. My mom is Elizabeth smith. My dad loves my mom so much but I know that they are not my biological father and mother . Both of them are black but I am white .
I born in the city called Chicago. My mom told me that it was built after a Hundred Years' War. The purpose is to protect the survivors and their kids.
Our ancestors built five faction systems to maintain the peace: abnegation， erudite， dauntless， Candor and amity. Each of them have their own duty: abnegation provides us with selfless government leader ， erudite provides us with technologies and educated teachers， dauntless provides us with soundly leaders in law and amity provides us with farm and counsellors. Without any of them， we are unable to survive .
When the kids reach 16 years old， we have to choose a faction. We can either to choose to stay in our born faction or we can choose to leave them. However if we leave them， that mean we forsake our families permanently. That is because we believe in factions before blood.
I know that I will be dauntless and I will choose dauntless. I will do it at least for my mom and dad . However my mom is extremely sick and my dad recently is working so late
"Mom." I sit beside her bed
"Delia， don't cry." Mom wipes my tears away for me
"Mom tells me the truth. Are you my biological mom?" I cry
Mom is silent for a minute. She shakes her head
"No you are not my biological daughter but you came to when you were not even a years old ." Mom smiles at me ." I never have any kids after you so you are my daughter."
"I know mom. Do you know who are my real parent. You will forever be my mom but I want to know the truth." I say
"They are from abnegation but I don't really know who are them." Mom shakes her head
Now the door opens . Dad comes in. He looks tired
"Delia." Dad is calling me
"Dad are you okay?" I help dad to sit down.
"Yeah I am just tired . There will be a election after an hour for who will be the lieutenant ." Dad sighs
Lieutenant is a high position. Except my dad ， they have the highest authority even above other leaders.
"Who do you like ?" I ask dad
"Alan Davis is the best choice . He nearly became the mafia boss. I win him just for one person." Dad shrugs." He was ranked first ."
"Yeah right I heard about it." I nod at him
Alan Davis is 27. He is just 11 years older than me .
"Elizabeth， I have to confess something." Dad grabs her hand
"Yes what?" Mom looks at dad
"I am in love with other woman." Dad says

Evelyn is the wife for Marcus Eaton. She has a son whose name is Tobias Eaton. We are friends in school.
"Why dad? Why are you doing that? I and Tobias are very good friends . How are you going to let me to call him." I scream
"I am sorry Delia. I still love you. Evelyn is pregnant . That baby will be your sister or brother ." Dad holds my shoulder
"No she or he will never be my sister or brother ." I shout at him
I push my dad away and run out of the room. I am running toward no where . I am just so much in pain.
"Delia." Someone is calling me
"Ted?" I look at him
"Yes are you okay?" Ted grabs my arm
Ted was my body guard but now I am older so he is doing other job.
"I am fine." I wipe my tears away.
"You are lying." Ted is serious
"Don't force me please ." I cry
Ted hugs me . I punch his chest. He doesn't let me go.
"Let her go." Someone pulls him away from me
"Alan?" Ted blinks his eyes
I look at Alan Davis . He is standing between me and ted
"Alan you misunderstand him. He was trying to comfort me." I grab his arm
"Come to my room." Alan says coldly.
"Why?" I am nervous
Alan looks at me for a long time . I lower my head
"Yes sir ." I nod at him
Dad is right. He is pretty scary. My dad is still worried about him.
I follow him toward his apartment. He opens the door and let me in. He closes the door behind me
"Tell me what happened." Alan sits down
"My dad was cheating." I start sobbing
"I know that . He didn't want me to tell you." Alan shakes his head
Dad wants him to keep it as secret. My dad also knows that it isn't right.
"Why didn't you tell me ." I scream." I trust you so much."
"Delia calm down. Listen ， your dad didn't want to make that happened . Evelyn is having his baby . He can't leave her alone ." Alan hugs me .
I cry so loud . I can't breath . I feel that I am going to die . I am soon losing my consciousness. When I wake up， Alan is beside me
"Are you okay Delia!" Alan holds my hand
"There is an election Alan." I am worried about him
"I don't care . I need you to be strong okay? I will be with you." Alan holds my hand

"Delia ， he is under more pressure than anyone . He doesn't want to let you feel the same thing." Hana grabs my face." Trust me please. Your dad is going to send him away to the fence . He is going to leave very soon."
"Why my dad is doing it?" I am shocked
"Delia I don't know the reason but max already knew that he and you are flirting with each other ." Hana sighs
It is my problem. After an hour ， I recover . I go back to see my mom.
"I am sorry Delia. Your mom just passed away." Doctor shakes his head
"How? Why?" I am staring at him
"She had severe heart attack." Doctor lowers his head." She was over emotional."
It is because dad told her the truth. I clinch my fist
"Where is my dad." I try to calm down
"He is in his own office ." Doctor says
I leave the room. I enter dad's office. I am angry
"Why are you doing this to me ." I scream
"I am sorry Delia." Dad cries
"You sent Alan away? Why? Did you tell him something?" I slap my hand on the table
"Delia he is too old for you." Dad shakes his head
I point the gun at my own forehead . If he is doing this to me , I will kill myself.
"Yeah you think so? If you keep doing this , dad I will lull myself." I click the bullets into chamber
"No!" Alan comes in." Stop doing it Delia!"
He takes my gun. Alan throws the gun on the ground
"Why are you doing this!" Alan screams
"Alan , my mom is dead and now you are going to leave . I have no one . I have nothing." I cry .
"You have me . Delia , it is just matter of time that I need for myself . It is not because max or I don't love you." Alan kisses my forehead
I rest my head on his chest. Alan grabs my hand
"I love you since the first day that I met you. I didn't know who is your dad but when I knew it, then I decide to work harder ."'Alan says
"Really!" I am surprised
"Yes it is for real." Alan smiles at me."so give me a month or two. Before the end of first stage , I will give you an answer."
I nod at him. We leave the office . Alan goes to my mom's room
"I know that you are sad . Delia your mom was murdered ." Alan grabs my shoulder." You can't tell anyone. I will find out the truth."
"Murdered? Bu who?" I am shocked." By my dad or evelyn."
"I can't be sure but I am sure that her death is abnormal." Alan says." I will check the camera ."
Alan clinches his teeth. I know that he is also angry. He was from Candor and justice is in his gene
"Okay thank you Alan." I kiss his cheek
"Delia , promise me that no stupid thing anymore ." Alan sighs.
"I promise you but you can't fall in love with other girls." I nudge him
He laughs . I don't understand why he is so happy.
