This is a basic PSA regarding the status of my stories and how I've been, as well as what I plan for the future of my stories.
First of all, I'm going to rewrite Sword Art Online: Origin Story in its entirety, as it was legitimately painful to read the original version, and it will also include better characterization, more knowledge on Japan's policies/traditions than I had before, better pacing, less headscratching, and more. The general layout of the story remains the same, but the nitty-gritty details will be changed and refined, and I will not allow impatience to result in stupid decisions in my attempts to get chapters out at a regular pace.
Secondly, I will be writing both an SAO-era (I dunno if it should be Progressive or post-Progressive SAO, though, so please help me with that) alongside the Origin Story rewrite, but the former in this paragraph will use the Redux lore instead of the original lore. For those who liked it, the original Origin Story will still be on the site, but marked as complete, and no more new or updated content will be added to it.
And now for the Recollection...
The next chapter of Recollection: Beginning, Last-Minute Prepping I, is currently at 12k words and will be done in at least a week (provided that I stop procrastinating and just get to writing that shit,) and the rewrite/updating project for Beginning is also going well, with Search and Destroy II being nearly done.
Recollection: War, on the other hand, is on a bit of a standstill, as I don't have enough knowledge of Fort Benning to make use of, and I have literally no idea how the Russians run things. On the other hand, I have developed some of the lore in the Recollection's take on GFL's WW3, and I have also developed some of the plots past Beginning (GFL 2, Reverse Collapse,) although there's a high likelyhood of the EN release of GFL 2 ruining what I had in mind for the fanfic's plot.
In fact, GFL 2 itself reminds me of Firefly, story-wise, as both stories follow a jaded captain and his crew as they evade a supranational/intergalactic government as much as they can while doing odd jobs for shady figures and riding around in a beat-up vehicle of sorts (the Firefly-class vessel Serenity and the Mobile Command Vehicle St. Elmo.)
I might also do a sort of database fic or chapter to explain terms and events used or depicted in the Recollection, as it relies a decent bit on readers already being GFL players with some level of familiarity to understand it.
As for my own state, I could definitely be doing better, but between family drama, the idiocy of our government/upper class/their followers, and what I'm going to with my future, it's been tough on me, so I haven't been writing much and I've posted more fanarts than fanfictions these days (look me up on Pixiv if you wanna see it, but be warned of spoilers for my fics.)
Anyways, I'll be seeing you all in the Recollection soon, so look forward to that, please.
