"Please just get down!" The dark-haired man shouted in a whisper, brow itching in annoyance. His eyes trailed around him, hoping no one looked his way to see his predicament.

Hands reached forward; fingers curled in a cradling position. "Come on, I know you know what I'm saying. You aren't stupid. I have some nice wet tuna for you inside." Megumi tried to reason. He has been out in the hot sun for half an hour now trying to get this damn cat out of this tree.

Sweat dripped down his creamy skin, narrowed eyes heavy from heat and regular exhaustion. "I swear I'll crack open a can as soon as we get inside."

Either Megumi was going crazy, or he really did see the cat expression change from indifferent to disgusted. The mention of the word 'can' cause the cat's face to grow distasteful, opening her mouth and narrowing her gaze.

Megumi scoffed, maybe if Gojo didn't constantly spoil this damn fluff ball I wouldn't have to be sweating my ass off. The man kept those words in his head, knowing if the cat heard him, he'd be screwed further.

Sirens screeched in the man's ears, causing him to wince as the cat licked herself without a care. Megumi called the fire department ten minutes ago when he realized this cat was not jumping into his arms to be saved.

A sigh came from the man as he backed up from the tree to approach the truck. A surprised hum came from the pet sitter when a pink haired man in a cop uniform came out. The outfit was a deep blue but didn't seem fit to the man's body. As it squeezed around every inch of the man's chest and shoulders.

Megumi placed his stare on the man's eyes to not linger elsewhere. The brightest smile flashed the dull pet sitter, "Hello." His eyes squinted with the curl of his lips and Megumi found that detail oddly attractive.

"Hello, the cat is up there." He stated, pointing to the menace up in the tree. Her paw was under her light blue collar, playing with the material. The cop blinked a few times as if zoned out, "Oh, yes. Give me a moment."

Megumi backed away and let the man do his job, though he found it weird the cop was doing a firefighter's job. Though he didn't have enough information on the job to begin with to comment on it. The ladder from the truck guided to the tree, frightening the cat a bit. As she deserves.

Pinching at the white shirt on his body, Megumi fanned himself as his eyes trailed around the officer. He thought it would be safe to stare now that he was at a distance. The scar that was engraved near the corner of his lips caught Megumi's attention. It was small, around the size of his fingertip, but it looked gruesome.

The cop was well built, his upper body easier to analyze with his tight clothing. His features were quite normal, jaw sharp, eyes upturned and brown, while his brows were thin and narrow. "Um sir."

Megumi woke up from his thoughts, praying the officer didn't notice his stare. "What is the cat's name? I think calling her would be better."

An exhale left Megumi in relief, "Princess." He snipped with an eye roll. The officer let out a soft laugh from the name and how reluctant Megumi was to say it.

"Can you come here, Princess?" The officer cooed. Megumi wanted to butt in, saying that the demon of a cat will not simply change her entire demeanor. However, the pet sitter was wrong, very wrong. The cat pranced towards the officer without the slightest hesitation.

She curled up in the man's arms as soon as he graced her with a smile. You have got to be kidding me right now. Megumi's lips were parted in shock, eyes narrowing on the stupid fluff ball he is being subjected to watch.

"I'm glad she came to me quickly. I had to admit I didn't have another plan after that." The officer chuckled. Megumi's eyes flickered from the cat to the cop's face once he stood before him. The pet sitter swallowed thickly from the look, "Yes, aren't you lucky."

He looked back down, realizing how big the man's hands were compared to the cat that rested on them. The feline was pure white except for the tips of her ears and paws. Both ended in black, like the cat's soul.

Megumi reached out to grab the cat in a gentle manor, but Princess wasn't having it. She retreated, hugging herself against the man's chest. The officer, named Yuji from his badge, gave a shy blush. He tried pushing her closer to Megumi, but she hissed and pressed her paws on Yuji's chest.

A murmur of pain escaped the officer when her claws dug into his skin. Megumi's eyes shifted in slight panic and embarrassment, "I'm so sorry. Princess come here." His pale hands wrapped around the animal and pulled her away with care.

Her claws dragged a bit, still in Yuji's chest but not enough to be alarmed. Megumi hugged her to his chest, her head and paws draping over his arms with a disgruntled face. "It's all good." Yuji uttered, dusting off the cat fur from his chest.

Megumi clicked his tongue at the cat and turned his gaze to the small holes in the man's shirt. "You might want to get that checked out. Cat Scratch Fever is not fun."

Yuji quirked his head, swearing the man was making some kind of joke regarding the name. However, Megumi's straight face proved him wrong. "Oh, I see. Are you a doctor or something?"

"A veterinarian." Megumi stated, his stare still put on the man's chest.

Heat spread across Yuji's cheeks from the look, even though he kept telling himself it was because of the injury. "You must be smart then." For some reason Yuji wanted to continue the conversation. Megumi's eyes left his chest and hummed, "you could say that. Anyways, thank you for your help."

Yuji frowned when Megumi's back turned to him. He took it as the man not interested in talking to him, which hurt him a bit. "Um, no problem."

Megumi stiffened from the tone, as if he could hear the frown on the man's face. But by the time he turned around, the pink-haired cop had turned to walk back to the truck.
