Scene change: Empty void, Year unknown

You know, this was not what I expected from death. I was expecting pain, or some form of existential dread, or even just not being able to feel in the first place. Not to mention actually knowing how I died in the first place. Just about anything but this.

[Your life on Earth has ended. Would you like to roll for another life?]

{Note: If option is chosen, new life will be chosen in a randomly selected world from subject's memories}

[Y/N]

I really did not expe- Oh, who am I kidding!? Of course this is what happens in the afterlife! What else would!? Nothing but this freaking text box floating in an empty space waiting for me to press a button for another life. And of course it's to another world!

And why would you ask if I want to have another life? Of COURSE I DO!

[Executing randomized world selection.]

[World Selected: Earthland]

Earthland? Like, the name of the world in Fairy Tail? Am I really being isekaied into Fairy Tail?

[Analyzing query]

[Answer: Yes, Earthland is the world of the intermedia entertainment subject knows as "Fairy Tail."]

Well, then I guess we should just move on? Seriously, not like I have anything better to do other than just float around in this empty void.

[Would you like to begin life based on your karmic level?]

[Y/N]

[Other options include: Beginning from karmic level 0; Choosing randomly generated talent set; randomly generated birthplace.]

-Please note: randomly generated birthplace includes possible temporal displacement.-

Can you tell me what this "karmic level" is? I assume it has to do with how much good I did with my life right?

[Karmic level: a value placed upon a soul based on how much the individual soul has influenced the world, whether it be good or bad determines if the level rises or lowers]

I figured, what would happen if I chose any of the "randomly generated" stuff? What does that even mean?

[Analyzing query]

[Answer: If random selection(s) has been chosen; Subject would be given one of two options depending on how many of "randomly generated" options are chosen.]

[Options include: If only one is selected; skills, talents and/or equipment known to the subject given to the subject upon entering the new world. If both are selected; Statistics provided to the subject are capable of increasing at an exponential rate in comparison to the rest of the world's subjects.]

-Please note: Subject would not be allowed to retain knowledge pertaining to the subject's new world if no "random" selections are made.

So I'll be given a random konosuba style gift for one of them, and if I choose both then I'll be given not just that but also grow faster than the rest of Fairy Tail? Sounds like a good deal to me, but that possible temporal displacement sounds ominous, to say the least. Still though, increased stats means higher likelihood of survival so that's a hard choice to make. Not to mention, I wouldn't remember anything about Fairy Tail if I chose neither so I can't go with the seemingly safe route either because that wouldn't be safe at all, not knowing anything about the world I'm going to.

Wait, statistics? Am I going to get "The Gamer"?

[Analyzing query]

[Answer: No]

Well that sucks.

Either way, I'll go with both random options. The benefits outweigh the risks overall, so long as the 'gift' I get is good enough that is. It'll be a gamble but it's either this or running into the world blind and that wasn't fun when I was still on Earth, let alone a world that has dragons.

[Executing randomized talent set selection]

[Talentset acquired: Subject knows talents as: Megaman ZX biometal fragments]

-please note that the consciousnesses contained within the fragments have been removed to allow subject full access to powers contained within.

Sweet, I freaking loved those games. Does this mean that I get to use the powers of all of the biometals? What about the Pseudroid forms?

[Analyzing query]

[Answer: Subject will be given all known biometal fragments from the 'game' known as "Megaman ZX" with the exception of "Model W". No biometal fragments from related materials will be provided.]

That sucks, I wanted to be able to transform into pseudoroids! Still though, since they said "All biometal fragments" besides Model W I guess that means I get to have Model O as well so that makes up for it by itself.

[Talentset found to be conflicting with 'birth' selection: accommodating changes]

[New randomized selection found: Random "Spawn" location]

[Continue with randomized selection?]

[Y/N]

What's the difference between "random birthplace" and "Random Spawn"?

[Analyzing query]

[Answer: Random birthplace; allows the subject to be born into a form of civilization as a newborn. Random Spawn; allows the subject to appear within the new world without having to go through infantile stages but also given a randomized physical age before adulthood and not being a part of civilization.]

Wait, I was going to have to go through and possibly remember my own birth? Dodged a bullet right there, still does the "conflict" between the 'birth' and my 'talent set' mean I'm going to be a reploid?

[Analyzing query]

[Answer: Subject shall be 'spawned' into the world as a Cyborg; a human with enhancements found within a Reploid. Accommodations to cybernetic enhancements shall be made to allow enhancements to grow, repair and change with biological components even should components be replaced]

So basically a ZX era human, but with extra perks since doubtlessly there isn't anything in Fairy Tail that can keep up with that level of tech. Resume random selection.

[Executing random spawn selection]

[Spawn point selected: Unnamed forest 20 kilometers south-east of Magnolia town, year x757, physical age; 7 years old.]

[Would you like to begin your new life?]

[Y/N]

X757? Twenty years before Natsu and the other dragon slayers are sent to the 'present'. And just about the same age as Natsu when he joined Fairy Tail. Since I'm not too far from Magnolia I could probably join Fairy Tail right away, but that wouldn't be a good idea since I have no idea how to use the biometals, best to wait a bit until I can use them with some form of expertise.

Let's begin this new game of life.

[Spawning subject within the new world]

[Good Luck kid]

Scene change: Unnamed forest southwest of Magnolia town; year X757

That wasn't some sort of alcohol induced dream or something. It actually happened.

I mean, I'm not about to go into denial considering that I remember that 'dream' with complete clarity, and clearly woke up in the middle of a forest while looking like a child. But still a major part of me was just hoping it was some sort of fever dream.

'I really should get up, I've been lying here for… how long have I been lying here?'

Looking up to the corner of my vision ignoring all the trees I can see above me, I notice the clock in grey and white displayed there. It's been just about twenty minutes since I was dropped here in this world, compared to first time I looked at it.

Oh yeah, there's that too. Apparently one of the reploid enhancements I have is some sort of HUD that is directly connected to my eyes. I can even see the 'integrity' of my body and what items I have in my possession, just like in the game. Though, why it also answers my questions I have no clue. Heck it even just sends the info on how to do this stuff directly into my head if I don't have it in the guide section at least, seriously how similar is this going to get to games? There's a freakin' help section!

Good thing it does though, cause I've spent this entire time I was lying here on the ground learning how to use this thing. It even shows how I can use the biometal! Which I should probably get started on practicing, especially since I have no food or water out here.

Getting up I try to remember what the HUD told me when I was looking through the biometal part of the help section after I was "spawned" earlier. 'Ok, so if the HUD was telling the truth then I should be able to pull out model X by "imagining the biometal" and commanding it to come out-'

With a flash of blue light interrupting my thought process, here it is, the glorious Model X floating in front of me. A flying 'stone' covered in white and blue accents with a large red 'gem' in the center of what appears to be a forehead on its face.

Alright, now the next step is- wait seriously? I thought that whole thing was just for sh*ts and giggles. Oh Well, then I guess it's time to channel my inner power ranger, this'll be epic.

Grabbing Model X out of the air, and turning it so that the 'face' is turned away from me I shout:

"Megamerge!"

[Biomatch Confirmed]

[Biolink Established: M.E.G.A System: ONLINE]

With that a sudden flash of light blinds me and a rush of energy runs through me, starting from my head, and spreading quickly to the rest of my body.

By the time I can see again, looking down I notice that I'm not dressed in the blue shirt and shorts I was wearing when I woke up here. Instead I'm now wearing armor that almost resembles plastic, but simultaneously looks metallic too. The majority being colored blue and having various white and yellow accents running along them. I don't know how the helmet looks but if what the HUD says is true, then it probably has that red 'gem' that was on the stone right where my forehead is covered by the helmet.

"I did it! I have become a Mega Man Power Ranger!" I can't help but shout, and end up noticing that my voice is pretty deep for a supposed seven year old. What gives?

'Didn't the system-thing say I'm supposed to be seven now?' I thought to myself in confusion, with the HUD beaming some information into my mind again.

Oh, apparently when I transform the biometals also alter my body so that I have the 'prime physique' to take advantage of the forms. According to the HUD I am temporarily at the physical age of fourteen, will that happen with all of my forms?

Anyways, taking a look at the changes to the HUD's UI, not much happened other than the motifs changing to the color blue and a weird little bar appearing below the clock. What is that?

Navigating the UI a bit, I take a look at the description it gives me on the bar that is now underneath the clock.

Apparently that bar signifies how much of the power within the biometal I can draw out right now, with it being empty meaning that I can only draw out its surface level strength. Guess that means I was right to choose not to join Fairy Tail just yet, if I only have access to X's baseline abilities, which doesn't have his charge buster, I would be creamed in any of the combat missions.

Ok, what's the fastest way to grind out the process? Navigating further into the HUD, I find the suggested method to the process.

It literally just says stay in the form. Well not really but that's the gist of it, I only have to stay in X form in order to 'bring out its full potential' or so the HUD says. Apparently it's so that my body can adapt better to the form.

'If I'm not ready to draw out its full power, what would happen if I tried to Double-?' OW!

What the heck? Why would it- oh. Apparently the HUD has some sentience to it cause it just hit me because of my stupidity. Ok, so Double Megamerge is out of the question right now. I could probably use the fragments by themselves and not fused with X but using both at the same time is pretty dangerous according to the HUD, I should probably give this thing a name since it is apparently sentient enough to punish me for being stupid but I'm too lazy to think of something so HUD it is.

'Now how do I even use the buster?' Wait, that's it? Point and shoot? I literally just point the nozzle at my target and think of the word SHOOT or something synonymous.

'And the way to manifest it is the same way as how I brought out Model X in the first place. Alright then, guess it's time to hunt for some food-' My thoughts were interrupted by a beam of information coming directly into my mind thanks to my new friend HUD.

What?

'I- OK how does that even work? I can use sunlight like freakin Superman in order to live instead of needing food and water. How does that work!? I mean really? Where did that even come fro-' I asked before HUD interrupted me by beaming the info directly in the middle of my thought rant.

Oh wait, it's one of the abilities X had. Apparently he could gather and store solar energy in the place of E-crystals which is essentially the Reploid equivalent of food and water. So that means I can do the same while in X form eh? Cool. Guess I can just use X form if I'm feeling hungry. Plus this means that I can just stay in X form, better for my plans in the long run.

If I don't need food or water, guess that means I can get right to searching for shelter. Imma build myself a house! Seriously the HUD is way too useful, it was able to just beam that info right into my head!

'Advanced A.I Banzai!' I think in celebration

Ugh, I instantly regret thinking that, I am physically cringing no- OW! Apparently HUD agrees. I am never thinking that phrase again.

Anyways, after that whole thing. I leave the clearing I found myself in and walk in a random direction, hoping to find a cave or something. Right as I leave the clearing though, I make sure that HUD's map has its location marked down so that I can go back to it for training. It was really spacious and will be perfect for working out.

After about half an hour of walking through the forest, at least according to HUD, I managed to find a cave. Time to see if the info from HUD will work.

Going inside I take a look around, it's pretty spacious here. I should be able to make a good home out of this even if the info is faulty which I doubt since HUD hasn't led me wrong yet. While taking a look at everything I move some of the stones out of the cave, gotta make room for furniture. After I finish with that, I notice that I'm not even tired, even though I moved some rocks that were just about the same size as me. To be honest though that does kinda make sense, X is incredibly strong even without his upgrades it would only make sense that he can lift his own body weight without any assistance.

'Though at the same time I wasn't trying to counterbalance them when lifting, I should've fallen over, so how does that even work?' I finish my thoughts while asking HUD.

Huh, HUD isn't answering. Guess it's something that's just unexplainable? Or maybe it's just such a simple mechanic that HUD isn't programmed to explain it. Either way, it's not like I need to know. Guess it goes to show that HUD doesn't know everything after all.

After taking the last of the rocks outside I walk over to the closest tree. 'HUD how do I cut this thing down? Should I switch over to a different model or something? Oh wait, the sabers are energy based. I might just end up setting it on fire. So what's the plan?'

Oh.

Steve would be proud and this method will be enjoyable.

After getting the info from HUD, I lift up my hands and-

Start punching.

Wow, it doesn't even hurt and I'm actually damaging the thing. Whoo!

After about a minute of punching I managed to get all the way through, and knock the admittedly thinner than it looks tree down. I can tell already if this is any signifier then training with the biometals will be fun. But for now, I best get to breaking this thing down so that I can have something to sleep on. I may be able to live off of sunlight, but I still have to sleep. Human brain and all that.

After a long time of just punching trees and breaking them down before putting them back together I ended up with-

A huge pile of broken splinters and stumps. Ok, so I guess even if I have the info, I still don't have the skill to use it. Lesson learned. That was a waste of an hour, though admittedly it was pretty fun since I got to cut down some trees by punching them. Either way, I've got all of the leaves off the trees I knocked down so that'll work as a bed I guess.

Gathering up the leaves from the trees I bunch them up into a pile in the corner of the cave, ready for me when I need to finally go to sleep. Speaking of sleep.

'Hey HUD, with my enhancements, how much sleep does my body need?' I think to the A.I in my head with it responding simply by beaming more info. Apparently I still need eight hours if I want the maximum benefits, dang it. I thought I could go back to my high school sleeping habits!

Apparently not, ugh.

Checking the time on HUD I notice that it's starting to get later in the day, and start to realize. Even if I now have shelter and I don't have to worry about food and water, what about predators? They might attack me while my guard is down when I'm sleeping.

'HUD, is there any sort of automated battle mode or something?' I ask. With HUD responding with the now familiar beam of info. Ok, so I do have an alert to whether or not something around me while I'm asleep tries to attack me, but there's no autobattle mode, just HUD beaming info and suggestions about fights. These fights are gonna hurt aren't they- HUD I know reploids can't actually feel pain, it was just an expression.

'Besides, aren't I still human? Even if Reploids can't feel pain I still can.' To this thought HUD just beams more information about my transformations. Apparently I have pain inhibitors, I mean that's not what HUD called 'em but, I played a lot of a certain cyborg ninja game. Cool, so I don't feel pain while transformed. Wait, I'll still feel everything once I turn back!

Power Ranger style technical augmentation or not, I'm still a fleshy meat bag who needs healing when I get hurt. All the more reason to avoid fights I can't win. But in this world I know you can't avoid fighting, so best to prepare for that too.

'HUD map out the fastest route to the clearing. It's time for some training.' I command, with HUD obliging and even listing the estimated time it would take. HUD, you are my new best friend.

Alright, so it's a…. Five minute walk over to the clearing. After I walked for half an hour looking for this place. Was I going in circles or something? That cannot be right.

Following along the path that HUD laid out for me, I made it back to the clearing.

In five minutes.

I can feel the smug radiating off of HUD right now, just feel it.

Shaking off the feeling of shame and dejection, I summon my buster to my arm. It didn't really change the weight of my arm, but at the same time that could just be the enhanced strength affecting my perception. OK, seriously I am getting majorly off track here, it's going to be sunset in a few hours.

I have spent the majority of my first five hours in this world thinking (and punching trees but that doesn't count.) I have found shelter and a good training ground. I need to be ready for the future, so time to hit the grind.

Let's Rock.

A/N:

This isn't my first fic, I really really hated how that one ended up being. I don't really regret how powerful I made my OC in that one since he's supposed to have been strong from the start and lag behind everyone later on, but I do regret making the characters so out of character. It was to the point that most of the dialogue felt forced and fake, not to mention I ended up rushing the pacing too much.

So I decided to remove it, and work on a different fic where I actually have better knowledge on this stuff. Not to mention these games and the show that I chose to write a fanfic about were what got me into anime in the first place so that helps too. I am going to try my best to write a good fic this time around, just please don't expect my OC to be weak, he will have access to very powerful weapons after all.

For now, I will have most of the chapters cover a year's worth of time, meaning that after every chapter expect that much time to have passed in between until the 'scene change' says the same year. I did this in order to give a proper defense for how powerful my OC would be, since he would be needing so long in order to learn how to use these new powers, let alone master them. I do not want to make the same mistake as last time.

As for an upload schedule, unfortunately I can't have a consistent upload schedule. I'll try to upload as much as possible but I can make no promises.

If you have any Criticisms feel free to leave a review, if not then go ahead and DM me. I'll try and read them all. I don't have a name for my OC yet, so feel free to give suggestions!

Thank you for reading.
