Disclaimer: I still don't own Yu-Gi-Oh if I did i wouldn't make myself wait this long for photons in master duel.

Riley's pov

After Ben shoved me into the driver's seat I felt his mind relax considerably as he drifted off into what was basically a mental nap even as the now familiar but not less agonizing pain shot through me as we switched. Good for him, he worries far too much I thought.

" Alright let's get this show on the road ." Joey said

" Duel." We both said drawing our opening hand.

Since Joey was such a big deal everyone who played against him got to take the first move. So I drew my card and looked at my opening hand.

Riley's hand: Nightmare Magician, Electric Snake, Graceful Charity, Monster Reborn, Spirit Barrier, and Bad Aim.

" I'll start off by activating the spell card: Graceful Charity, this lets me draw three cards but I have to discard two." I drew Hanewata, Astral Barrier, and Pinpoint Guard. I then discarded Nightmare Magician and Electric Snake.

"When Electric Snake is discarded by a card effect I get to draw two more cards." I announced as the crowd began to mutter. I drew Dark Blade and Emissary of the Afterlife.

" Next I activate Monster reborn to Summon back my Nightmare Magician. Then I'll set four face downs and a monster in defense mode. Turn end."

" Nightmare Magician, I don't think I've ever seen or heard of it." Joey said, " mind if I look at it?"

" Not at all I actually won it in my first tournament here. They came out of a special pack that came from Maximilian Pegasus himself." I bragged to Joey. While I didn't use it often it was a very useful card.

" I see it has the same stats as Yugi's Dark magician but the typing is Illusionist instead of spellcaster." Joey remarked not sounding surprised at the type as he began to reminisce. "Pegasus actually released some of the Illusionist cards to the public. I remember him using some back in Duelist Kingdom."

" To start my turn off I'm playing Pot of Greed. This spell allows me to draw two new cards." Joey said with his Brooklyn accent. " Then I'll activate Ancient Rules to summon my Red-eyes Black Dragon. Now I'll use my good buddy Hermos to fuse it with my Swordsman of Lanstar in order to summon Goddess Bow. Which I then equip to Red-eyes. Next I'll play the spell card Mystical space typhoon to destroy your far right facedown. Then I'll attack your Nightmare Magician with my Red-eyes."

I was in a mild state of shock as how the hell did Joey have Hermos, further more Goddess Bow apparently doubled the attack of the monster it equipped to. I took two thousand three hundred points of damage and watched as Joey set one card and activated Mirage of Nightmare then ended his turn. Thankfully Nightmare Magician prevented any monster in battles it was involved in from being destroyed.

I drew for turn, and watched as Joey drew his four cards. Carefully considering my hand which consisted of : Dark Blade, Hanewata, and Tribute to the Doomed.

My face downs were: Astral Barrier, Spirit Barrier, and Bad Aim.

" I activate Tribute to the Doomed which allows me to destroy that Red-eyes of yours." I declared while discarding Dark Blade.

" Hold on a moment Ben." Drawled Wheeler with his Brooklyn accent, " Goddess Bow lets me negate and destroy the first card you activate each turn. So My Red-eyes is safe."

" Fine then, I'll activate my continuous Traps." I said while flipping up Spirit Barrier and Astral Barrier. " Next I'll play Eye of Illusion this card allows me to take control of one of my opponents monsters. So I'll be taking that Red-eyes."

" From my hand I activate my trap card Lucky Dice Break." Joey announced. " This card forces both players to roll a dice and whoever rolls higher gets to select one card on their field and make it unaffected by card effects for the turn. If my opponent has more cards on the field then me, I can play it from my hand."

I'm sorry what kind of broken card is this. I mean I know I should have expected some cards to be highly unique and busted but come on this was ridiculous.

Joey and I rolled our dice. He rolled a five and I rolled a three. He obviously selected his red eye to be unaffected.

" Turn end." I said mildly frustrated even though I was smiling.

" My turn." Joey drew his card and activated emergency provisions to destroy his Mirage of Nightmare before it could discard his hand.

" I activate Hanewata's. Effect" I declared while I sent it to the graveyard.

" I use Goddess Bow to negate that." Joey said, "Now I'll play Harpies feather duster to destroy all of Your spell traps."

" I play the Trap Bad Aim." I say flipping the card face up. " I destroy your Red-eyes."

Joey thankfully didn't seem to have an answer for once in this duel and sent his Red-eyes and Goddess Bow to the graveyard.

" I summon Rocket Warrior in attack mode." Joey began, " next I'll play Monster reborn to summon back my Red-eyes Black Dragon. Now Rocket warrior attack his Nightmare Magician!"

" I'll use the effect of Astral Barrier to turn that into a direct attack." I say, " but because I control a monster due to Spirit Barrier I won't take any damage."

"I'll set one card to end my turn." Joey said.

Drawing Sword Dancer for turn I switched my Emissary of the Afterlife into attack mode.

"Emissary of the Afterlife attacks your rocket warrior." I announced. " At this moment Nightmare Magicians other effect activates I can destroy one card on the field so I'll destroy your Red-eyes."

The attack went through doing 300 points of damage to Joey.

" Now Nightmare Magician attack his Rocket Warrior." I declare. Once again the attack went through and Joey took a thousand Points of Damage. " Now Nightmare Magician's final effect activates allowing me to take control of Rocket warrior which I'll use to attack you directly. Turn end."

Life points Joey:2200 Riley: 1700

Joey drew his card and smiled. " It seems My luck is still holding out. I activate Pot of Greed which as you know lets me draw two cards."

His smile grew wider as he drew his two cards. " Now I'll activate my trap Red-eyes rebirth to revive my Red-eyes Black Dragon. Then I'll activate the spell card Inferno Fire Blast. This card allows me to deal you damage equal to My Dragons attack.

Joey's combo wiped out my life points and caused me to lose my first game since being brought to this world. But that didn't matter after all it didn't stop me from smiling about how fun the duel was.

" Hey you did great," Joey said happily, " it's been a while since anyone's pushed me that much. You ever thought about going Pro?"

" Yeah I was planning to try and go pro after I finish school." I said elated that Joey seemed to think I was good enough one day go pro.

"Oh yeah I happen to know a certain rich boy whose opening a school for dueling." Joey started, " if you want I could put in a good word for you since I'm in town to meet with him, it might help should you choose to apply there."

" Thanks that would be great, it means a lot to me that you think I can go pro." I reply as Joey begins to get up and leave. " and if you're recommending the school it must be quite something."

" Yeah Duel Academy is gonna be spectacular Kaiba's sparing no expense, everything is top of the line including the education for non-duelist." Joey said before getting up to leave. " Anyway I'll see you around. Gramps as always it was good to see you."

So here is the Joey Wheeler duel. Yeah Joey has Hermos, wonder if that means Yugi and Kaiba still have their Legendary dragons?

Goddess Bow is a mix of its TCG and Anime effects. It's got the TCG summoning condition and negate but isn't battle phase limited. It's got the anime attack increase but can't make a second attack.

So how do you guys think Riley did against Joey? Was he too good or not good enough, or maybe was he just right?
