Adamant for Adaman
Banishment
Chapter 4
Author Notes: Ok. This story is long overdue for an update I think. Sorry for the wait folks~ I do not own pokemon.
2nd P.O.V
You were really starting to miss the blue sky...more importantly you missed being able to tell time with the sun and moon without searching for specific pokemon. Granted they did nothing when it was storming out but you missed it all the same.
Still regardless of the lack of time, you could see the drifloon disappear, signaling that it was no longer nighttime. Even if it was, it didn't matter. You were awake, things needed to get done and that meant you had to get out of your little cuddle pile.
So you rose from your spot, startling your pokemon awake from their peaceful slumber. Going through your belongings, you take out some food for breakfast. A frown formed at the low rations you had. You wanted to feed your pokemon, but with the lack of space and food, you couldn't take care of them all in one go.
"Alright. Priority one, finding a decent place to stay for good." Glancing up from your area, you see the mountainous area not too far away. Iscan's tent wasn't too far either, you would have to be careful. "Well...now's as good a time as any." You did want to see if any of the lords would heed your call.
So carefully and somewhat quietly, you played your flute. You waited a few moments, listening for the flap of heavy wings, or confident hoofed leaps, but they never came. A sigh escaped you, though you couldn't say you were surprised.
You told everyone that you couldn't rely on either clan, it made sense that the same would be said about the pokemon guardians they respected and followed. It was perfectly fine. If the insistent nudging against your back and legs were any indication, you had plenty of volunteers to help you travel undetected.
The perfect one for the job made sure his presence was known by chomping on the bits of your hair. "Mind if we soar for a bit?" Your gyarados licked your cheeks, making sure to slobber you as he gave you a cheeky grin.
A laugh broke through as you leaped onto his back. Gripping onto one of his spines as he took to the clouds. It was insanity to you. Back in your time, despite gyarados still keeping its water and flying type, they couldn't fly like this. The most you ever saw them was bounce, using their strong tails to push them up.
This...this was an entirely different feeling compared to braviary flying. While you were confident that the overgrown psychic bird wouldn't drop you, you were never completely comfortable going so high up.
With your pokemon carrying you though, it was amazing. It felt good feeling the fresh air. "Head in that direction!" You guided him high into the mountains, past the deep grassy terrain. Aipom hopped up and down from the trees, waving in your direction, causing you to smile.
Those specific little pokemon were researched just last week, and apparently remembered you well. Which was a relief since how pokemon reacted to you was a hit or miss. The miss being them attacking you. There were so many times beautifly-yes beautifly of all things, tried to silver wind you away.
Thankfully there was nothing and no one there at the little pond you had gyarados land near. You could hear the gurgles of the water snake's empty stomach, which made you feel bad. Everyone was long due to eat. So that had to be situated pronto.
After you were able to let out all of your companions, you let them go exploring. Because you originally hadn't believed to have too many on you, there wasn't enough food for you to share with them. In general it was easier and better for them to roam and gather food.
While they were busy checking out their new territory, you were taking out your map. After analyzing it you smile, finding the same clutter of dead trees from the last space-time distortion. It was ideally the perfect place for you.
Access to freshwater due to the large pond that streamed to a cliff. Said cliff had a trail you could follow that lead down to a little beachy area, giving you a way to gather materials in the ocean without being spotted.
There were plenty of stones, vines and trees to make a home to protect you during storms. A shed could be made to store food and tools. Areas could be set to where crops could safely grow. If you needed more specialized items you could go further into the mountains without trouble.
Why? Because you were far away from civilization. No one came this far into the mountain, hell no one had the pokemon to even access it with the exception of two people and neither of them would come here.
It would take a lot of effort and luck for anyone to find you, since the trees would even give you cover if you decide to make a fire. First order of business while all of your pokemon(with the exception of your ninetales and zoroark who decided to stick close) was to unpack your things.
The most essential was your crafting and building tools. Wooden hammers, picks, shovels, knives, axes, a grinder pot, buckets and spark stones were just some of the various items at your disposal. As annoying as it was, providing so much time and energy building camps while doing other various tasks came in handy.
You decided to stick close to the pond, but not too close to where you monopolized it. "Zoroark, can you help me find some wood for a fire? Ninetails, can you help me dig a space where I can start a little garden?" Both pokemon did as they were asked.
Zoroark disappeared, running at fast, stealthy speeds, meanwhile his fiery counterpart slashed at the earth with her sharp claws. She blew small flames, before snuffing them out with her tails, fertilizing the area.
She leveled the ground, and the ashes would fertilize the ground, making it easier to plant seeds. Out from your satchel was a few different packs, all collected when you worked with the farmers on occasion. While, planting the various herbs and produce, Ninetails then went about burning a lot of the heavy brush away.
The fire type repeated her process from earlier, destroying the extremely tall grass in your little settlement. This way you didn't have to worry about any pokemon (or people if they did start searching for you) taking advantage of the grass from sneaking up on you or you losing any of your belongings.
It was incredibly thoughtful of her to do, since you only wanted her to set up your garden and didn't command her to do anything else. "Zrrrr!" Turning your head, you found zoroark and much to your surprise, lopunny with him, both carrying armfuls of dead, dry wood.
"Awesome work guys." You immediately sent the two fox pokemon out to go eat, figuring they were long due for a meal. They hesitated for a moment, only for lopunny to plant her paws on her hips, huffing at them. She waved her ears to nearly hit them just to send them off.
Huffing again when the pair were out of sight. "Way to put them in their place lopunny. I appreciate everything you guys are doing for me." She nuzzled you, wrapping her arms and ears around your waist.
Not wasting any time, she helped you set up a little spot for a fire, stones were planted in circle in a foot deep hole, the logs placed in a pyramid shape. One by one, your companions returned to you, bellies and mouths( some of them actually brought fruit for you, how sweet) stuffed to the brim and ready to work.
The area was cleaned, with a garden and fire pit made. You needed to make a water proof shelter. One that was sturdy, spacious and safe. How it looked didn't matter, when you had time and the motivation, you could always customize it how you wanted it to look later.
"Alright everyone. Let's get to work." Time was passing. Rhyhorn used mudshot to flatten the ground as well as coat layers of heavy leafy branches. Staravia and gyarados together lifted it atop two knocked down but sturdy trunks. The trunks were angled and mudshotted against the mountain with the muddy leaf roof.
Scyther, zoroark, haunter, and sneasle all went about choping down smaller trees. You grabbed the vines that were lying around and the rope nestled in your bags to tie everything together. Combining the power of your fire pokemon and flying pokemon, your home to be was gently dried. You continued the process multiple times.
Aipom, growlithe and other pokemon watched on curiously as you worked, keeping their distance. Slowly but surely as sweat poured down your face, wood, stone, vines and mud combined. Luxray, leafeon, riolu and flareon all had buckets full of sand, carried up from the little beach area.
Coating the sand onto the sides and roof, and the floor you had arcanine lead the charge in heating the sand, slowly and carefully turning it into glass. By this point your shiny steed and his child arrived with buckets full of flowers, both medicinal and regular non-edible ones.
Everyone took a well deserved break while you separated the latest arrival of supplies, the healing floral would be grounded into medicines later, and the others would be turned into soaps. There was still so much to do, and arguably none of the main priorities such as reliable sources of food and shelter were done yet.
However...there was a lot of progress. Your friends were all working together to help you, and though your home wasn't completely done, it was taking a lot less time then originally though, but again, you didn't care how it looked so long as it was stable.
With all the layers of mud and leaves, it was heavy and thick, completely bound together by the top glass topping. Some blankets and pillows were already released from their coiled storage, softening the hard floor.
A fire was roaring as you feasted on the fruits delivered to you earlier, with what was left over was thrown in a bucket with never melt ice to keep it fresh. It's been a successful lunch if you had any say on the matter.
There wasn't a doubt in your mind that by tonight, you and your pokemon would be sleeping quite comfortably. Things were finally looking up, even if the sky wasn't. For a moment you allowed yourself to allow the guilt you felt a day or so ago to revive.
You couldn't afford to dwell on it forever, especially since none of it was your fault. However that didn't stop you from remembering the pained look in their eyes, in his as you raced away from them. Also the fact that even with them, you couldn't reveal your new home's location.
Meet with them outside the mountain...eventually, sure. Send a message via bird pokemon once in a blue moon, with only your pokemon being the one to send and bring back said messages, fine. But...for your own protection, you couldn't risk losing your safe zone again.
Especially since you have no gurantee of Arceus sending you back. For the longest time you pushed those thoughts away, dedicating yourself to doing multiple missions and researching just to keep those dark concerns away. Now...you had every reason to worry.
Even if you somehow managed to find and document every single pokemon of this region, what then? Arceus said you would meet again, but does that mean you'd be sent home? Did you want to? If someone asked you in the beginning if you wanted to, you would've said yes with no hesitation.
Now...it was hard to say. You had friends here, even if Kamado and his villlagers were pieces of tauros shit. It'd be hard readapting to civilization in your time, even if it meant having plumbing and other better living standards.
How would your family and friends believe you if you told them, the god of pokemon sent you to another time period. Oh the looks on their faces would be priceless...up until they said they didn't believe you and said you were off your rocker.
With that thought in mind what was the purpose of being sent here in the first place? At first you thought it was to quell the nobles, a task that as scary as it was, was doable. That quickly changed after the sky turned ominous.
If the reason was to get humans and pokemon to get along well...that'd be difficult because at this point you were rooting for the pokemon to eat their crops and stomp on Kamados clothes. There were still so many questions with no one to really turn to for answers.
With a frown you lift up your arc phone, that damn irritating message from when you first arrived still there, reminding you to find and research all the pokemon of Hisui. A sigh escaped before you felt a pointy nudge. It was your rhyhorn, growling softly.
Turning back you find your pokemon all standing up with their tails (if they have any) up in the air in eagerness. "Guess it's back to work already huh?" With a grunt you stood up yourself. Gazing at your home, you separate everyone into their previous positions from before. "Let's get to it guys, we have a house to make!"
To be continued
Author Notes: Fun thing about a story like this is I can essentially have any pokemon I want and caught from the game. Gives me a bit of creativity as well as brings some life to the story by making these pokemon act like actual creatures.
We'll have to see how it goes next chapter, but you know, hermit lifestyle doesn't sound so bad when literally living it while on missions. Enough rambling though. Everyone thank you for reading.
If you like this story please feel free to fav/follow/review, it means so much to me knowing others like my stuff. I will see you all next time. Tchao for now.
