Chapter 25: Epilogue
Once they had gotten back to the Lylat System, Star Fox was met with praise by everyone. Even Venom had to thank the team for saving the day. They went to Corneria, where they were greeted by General Pepper, Bill, Art, Steve, and the Cornerian Fleet. Star Wolf was also on Corneria, but they chose to speak to their rivals in private. Star Fox were hesitant, but they agreed to do so, heading to a pasture. It was one that was rarely visited, so their privacy was kept.
After their talk, Star Fox and Star Wolf parted ways, with the latter telling the former that they would meet again. Before they left, Krystal felt something odd from Wolf. Her telepathy sensed that he seemed to have known her. Putting aside that feeling, the cobalt vixen joined her teammates and their allies in collecting their award. Of course, no award would have been enough to please them after what they had been through. Nevertheless, Star Fox swallowed their pride and took off for the Great Fox.
With everything out of the way, Peppy took everyone to Zoness, which had been cleaned up before the Aparoids had appeared. Star Fox was grateful for his actions, to the point where they gave him a card. They all had a great time on the newly-clean planet, going swimming and looking at the clouds. On one occasion, Krystal took Fox to a private area and kissed him, giving her thanks for him allowing her on Star Fox. The orange tod told her that she had proven herself as a capable member, from her telepathy to her piloting skills. After that, the two agreed to go on a date, primarily when something wasn't on Star Fox's schedule.
Nearly two months had passed since Star Fox's victory over the Aparoids, and things weren't terribly busy. However, that was until Krystal sensed something with her telepathy. She let out a gasp before clutching her head in pain. Fox was quick to catch the cobalt vixen, holding her in his arms. The rest of the team shared his concern, with Falco even bringing the first aid kit. As she looked at her teammates, Krystal whimpered, having felt a presence she thought she would never feel again.
"Krystal, what's wrong?" Fox asked.
"Tell us, honey." Peppy said.
"There's two Cerinians on Fortuna, and I know them!" Krystal said. "They're in trouble! We have to save them!"
