PCPD - Jordan's Office

"I agree, Commissioner Ashford, that Kellie Corinthos-Morgan is stalling for some reason," Mac said to Jordan after they questioned Kellie and Lorenzo, "But we have no reason to hold them at this point. Not to mention they have alibis. Sonny disappeared during Charles's funeral which they were all at."

"But where is Jason Morgan?" Jordan asked, "Diane and Kellie both say he's on his way. But no one seems to be able locate him."

"And probably why Kellie is stalling," Mac said, "Whatever bad blood aside between Kellie and Sonny, I can't see her arranging for him to disappear. I doubt Jason would do the same even if he did take the business from Sonny."

"But Lorenzo Alcazar could be another story?" Jordan said, "I know he and Sonny make some sort of peace because of Kellie. However, Alcazar did get physical with Sonny at the church because he wouldn't leave from I can gather. Neither Kellie or Monica wanted Sonny there."

"Diane Miller has a valid point that Alcazar is being over protective of Kellie," Mac said, "I wouldn't think it's any more than that. Ever since he found out Kellie was his niece, he's been protective of her.

"But even though Alcazar got out of the business somehow," Jordan said, "Do we really believe he wouldn't have the resources or access to resources to make Sonny disappear? I mean he still has guards."

"I can't exactly blame the man for still keeping guards given his own father outed him for working with the feds to take Sonny down," Mac said, "Could he still have access to resources? Sure, I could see him keeping something in reserve if he felt like he needed to be protected. It would be the smart thing to do. But he's been able to be a legitimate businessman for years as far as we know without much of a target on his back. That's an awful big risk for him to take."

"He might see it as worth it to protect his niece," Jordan said, "even from her own father. Especially, if he believed that was the best course of action given everything that's going on and the rumors flying around. But what would Alcazar think would be the advantage of making Sonny go away be?"

"If Sonny's leadership in his organization is as unstable as we're hearing," Mac said, "Maybe he'd think it would force Jason to takeover for him."

"Maybe," Jordan said, "But the risk of that leaving Kellie in a position to take over instead...I can't see him wanting that for her. Can you?"

"No," Mac said, "It's certainly not something I'd want for my daughters or Robin. Even though he backed her takeover of Sonny's organization years ago, I still can't see him truly wanting that for her.

"So that leaves us back at square one," Jordan said, "And looking for Jason Morgan. Even with an alibi, we still need to question him."

They were interrupted by a knock at the door. Jordan answered to find a cop standing outside.

"Jason Morgan is here," the cop said.

Sonny's Penthouse

Nina went into the penthouse looking for anything that might indicate where Sonny might have gone. She found an envelope addressed to her on the coffee table. She opened the envelope, pulled out the letter, read it, and quickly left the penthouse again.

PCPD

Jason had marched right into the interrogation room Kellie was in against the protests of Dante.

"I can't let you," Dante said as Jason ignored him.

"They're not questioning her now," Johnny O' Brien said to Dante.

"I know, but I still have to do my job," Dante said, "We could talk about the fact you technically assaulted a police officer earlier when you shoved me at Kellie's house. Maybe we should talk about that."

"I'm the only guard your sister can almost never ditch," O' Brien said.

"So we need to find someone she can never ditch then," Dante replied.

"But my track record for finding her is spotless," O' Brien said.

"I hardly thinking joining my sister going head first into trouble is considered finding her," Dante said.

"Tell your bosses to hurry this up," O' Brien said.

"What, you got a hot date or something?" Dante asked as O' Brien stared daggers at him.

In the interrogation room, Jason was annoyed.

"How long do they really need to wrap this up?" Jason asked.

"As long as it takes," Diane said, "But I fully expect the Commissioner to let Kellie and Lorenzo go when they come back. They have no reason to hold them. I cannot imagine a new line of questioning they could come up with to hold them any longer. You on the other hand will probably be here awhile. Do you want to tell me why you took your time showing up here?"

Jason didn't reply.

"I figured as much," Diane said.

"You okay?" Jason asked Kellie.

Kellie smirked.

"I don't even want to know what the two of you are up to," Diane said, "There's the Commissioner, excuse me while I see about at least getting Kellie out of here."

Diane left the interrogation room and met Alexis who had the same idea.

"How long do you plan keeping our clients here?" Alexis said, "We've established all three of them have alibis."

"And resources to hire someone," Jordan replied.

"You're grasping at straws and you know it," Diane said, "Do you honestly believe my clients would cause Sonny to disappear? Kellie is his daughter. Jason and Sonny have been friends for years."

"And yet the rumor is Jason is now running the business," Jordan said, "And Sonny disappears right when that happens."

"Jason wouldn't make Sonny disappear to take over the business and you know, it," Alexis said, "I would think you'd want to focus on who actually is responsible for Sonny's disappearance."

"Like your husband, one of Sonny's known enemies," Jordan said.

"That's in the past," Alexis said.

"And yet they still hold a grudge," Jordan said.

"What actual grounds do you still have to hold them?" Alexis asked as Nina came barreling into the PCPD.

"Commissioner Ashford," Nina interrupted.

"Miss Reeves, you'll have to wait a moment," Jordan said.

"Sonny left a letter," Nina said, waving a sheet of paper around.

"Are you sure it's from him?" Jordan asked.

"It's his hand writing," Nina said, "Although I don't understand why he still won't answer his phone."

"Can I see it?" Jordan asked, motioning to Nina to put the letter on the desk. Nina put the letter down as Lorenzo, Kellie, and Jason stood in the interrogation room doorways to listen.

"I'll have our handwriting experts analyze this," Jordan said, "But it seems as if Sonny took off on his own."

"What's it say?" Kellie asked.

"It says that he was feeling the pressure of everything," Nina said, "He wanted a few days to just get away from it all. So he left to plan a surprise for me. He'd send for me in a few days to meet him somewhere."

"Do you have any idea where?" Jordan asked as Lorenzo studied Kellie's reaction. He noticed she held it together, but he noticed a shift in her demeanor.

"I have no idea," Nina said.

"But why would he have Trent hit over the head to stop him," Dante asked.

"Wouldn't be the first time Sonny decided he didn't need guards," O' Brien said.

"So he just hit Trent over the head instead of telling him to go away?" Dante replied.

"Sonny Corinthos hasn't exactly been himself since Nixon Falls," Lorenzo said, "I'd say it's possible especially if he didn't want anyone to come after him or track him."

"We can't rule it out," Jordan said.

"But I assume all our clients are free to go," Diane said, "Given Sonny himself seems to have left of his own free will."

"For now," Jordan said, "We may still have questions. We'd still like to question Jason."

"And yet you have no valid reason to now," Diane said, "Not with that letter."

"Be sure you have a substantial reason to bring any of them in for questioning again," Alexis said, "If you need to question my husband again, call me to schedule a time."

"Same goes for my clients," Diane said.

Jordan stepped aside and waved her hand indicating they could all leave.

"We'll be in touch if we need anything," Jordan said.

"Is that it?" Nina said Kellie, Jason, and Lorenzo followed Diane, Alexis, and O' Brien out of the Station.

"We'll need to keep the letter for analysis," Jordan said, "When you hear from Sonny, I want to know right away."

"Of course," Nina said.

Dante pulled Kellie aside before they got out of the PCPD. Jason waited back with her.

"I'm sorry about having to bring you in," he said.

"Better you than some wet behind the ears rookie," Kellie said, "I just want to go home now."

"Of course," Dante said, "If you need anything.."

Kellie nodded and walked out of the station. Jason put his hand behind her back, bringing her closer to him, as they walked out the door.

Outside the station, Diane had left, Alexis was waiting in the car for Lorenzo, and Max and O' Brien were having a discuss off to the side.

"Max says he's got both of you covered," O' Brien said to Kellie and Jason, "Is it all right if I take off?"

Kellie nodded, "You were supposed to be off once we got home from the funeral. So go. Some day I'm going to find who you've been seeing that finally means you are having your own life."

O' Brien shook his head and left, trying not to have a bounce in his step.

"Normally, I'd say we'd talk," Lorenzo said to Kellie, "But you look pretty beat. I'll be by in the morning okay."

"That's fine. I didn't really plan anything tomorrow," Kellie said.

"I'm sorry you have to go through all of this today," Lorenzo said, hugging her.

Once Jason and Kellie were sitting in the back seat of the car, Max drove off. Jason put his arm around Kellie's shoulders.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Jason asked Kellie.

No," Kellie said, paused, and then continued, "I don't know what more there is to say about the fact that Sonny knows who he is and now he straight up abandons his entire family. I know didn't want him at the church or around me. But I certainly didn't want him abandoning the rest of my siblings, especially Donna and Avery."

Kellie stopped talking and then collapsed against Jason for the rest of the car ride home.
