Set in present day-Catherine gets a mysterious call from a local hospital summoning her to the bedside of a patient. What she finds is something she's convinced remained frozen in time. What evidence will unfold may be more sinister than accidental. At the very least it will turn her world upside down.

Grissom and Sara thought they had left Vegas behind once and for all. But, it seems a new killer on the scene wants to spoil that with some very unnerving blasts from the past that will thrust them into a nightmare they really don't want to be a part of. Kind of set during CSI Vegas season 2 or at least what would be that time frame.

This story takes our two lovely science nerds from Costa Rica to Paris, with stops along the way; to the Pit of Despair; to Las Vegas and to San Diego; and to quite an extended reunion. There are two marriages and one very happily-ever-after ending. And the fluff-to-angst ratio is about 14 to 1. (A How They Fell Apart & How They Came Back Together Story. GSR, of course.)
