Marcus saturated in the black tranquility of a dreamless sleep. Surrounded his unconscious body was a plain black cover on his unornamented bed. His room was intermediately sized, providing plenty of space for his few belongs. Among them were a tall bookshelf, his nightstand, his TV, his desk and accompanying computer, and (of course) his bed. Unlit candles were mounted on the wall, as he preferred the light they provided to the harsh fluorescent lights installed as an alternative on his ceiling.

His peaceful slumber was interrupted by the mild yet effective ringing of his phone's alarm. He pried his eyes open and tapped "stop" on the screen. He placed his feet on the cold, smooth floor and stretched. He grabbed his violet cloak, black jumpsuit and shoes and put them on. Now he was all set. His emerald green eyes, blond hair, grey skin and 5'6 stature all somehow complimented his outfit well. Or perhaps "somehow" need not be including considering his heritage.

He slid open the metallic door of his room and entered the hallway. No sign of anyone else being up, as usual this early. He paced down the empty hallway and into the commons room, where he started to make breakfast. He took a bagel out of the bag on the counter, cut in half with a butter knife, and spread cream cheese across the inside before pressing it back together. Then he pulled out a jug of tea he made yesterday and poured a glass with a few ice cubes. He was partial to his mother's herbal tea, and Twila's "tea" had such a (frankly, revolting, to Marcus) excess of sugar that it was closer to sugar water than real tea.

After finishing breakfast, Marcus went to meditate in the living room. After a while, the others started emerging from their quarters.

First was Jack;Snapwarp. Pale-skinned, black-haired, brown-eyed, and able to teleport impressive distances provided he has line of sight. He was wearing tennis shoes, a pair of cargo shorts and a plain black, short sleeved T-shirt. (It had fallen out of vogue for younger heroes to have specially made costumes, Marcus was a rare exception). He was the leader of the group, although his authority was met with varying levels of respect. He ignored Marcus, as he always did while he was meditating.

Very much an antithesis to Jack was Twila; Stellaris. She was the offspring of Nightwing and Kori, and exhibited such heredity too. Physically, she possessed her father's extreme agility and skin tone, while her mother's hair color, eye color and abilities. Regarding personality, she definitely leaned more towards the maternal end of things(and she wore a similar outfit), although she was naturally much more socially adept with full humans than her mother. However, she, too, ignored Marcus and poured a glass of her "sweet tea" and started playing with her pet of indiscernible species and planetary origin. (Though it looked like hairless dog with defined musculature and an insect-like exoskeleton).

Lastly came Michael; Seis-Mike. He wore a comically outdated idea of a cool guy's getup, complete with a long black trench coat, a grey t-shirt that resembled TV static with a plain white circle on the chest and a pair of jeans with a dark blue coloration. He had dark red hair, hazel eyes and alabaster skin. His power could best be described as the ability to create controlled and extremely localized earthquakes. As for personality? He was, put bluntly, an asshole, but still had a hero's moral compass. Chaotic good, if anything.

Each of them had been getting acquainted with the refurbished Titans Tower over the past few months. After the original titans disbanded, the tower had been decommissioned for years, but with the semi-recent forming of this new team, Vic(with the approval of the League) got the privilege of of restoring the tower. Even after three months, there were still places that none of them had been in yet.

Jack and Twila talked with an almost imperceivable hint of flirtation while Marcus meditated and Michael simply played some comically violent video game on his beefy handheld (with the sound of digital tearing flesh just barely overpowering the sound of the internal fan). This was a typical scene in the Tower in recent days.

But it came to a relative unexpected end, as each titan was startled by the blare of an alarm. Their first real mission! As a team, at least. The smug self-confidence was palpable as Jack blurted out the iconic battle cry: "Titans, Go!".

The Titans arrived at the source of the distress call. It was some kind of showcase fair of different kinds of minerals. A robbery intending to get rich off the black market, maybe?

When the Titans entered they saw that the cables that would normally concealed by the floor and ceiling had been torn out of their hiding places. It looked as if a great wriggling mass of wire approximating tentacles has burst forth, and time had frozen on the at the moment of the terror for those they targeted. Eerie, to say at the least.

The Titans remained vigilant as they searched down the lonely halls, coming across that same sight several times.

After a few minutes, Marcus found an antechamber leading to an atrium. He could just discern a figure in the distance, fiddling with some machinery and some kind of white rock. He crept towards the figure to try to catch him off guard.

"Nice try kid" came his deep voice. Marcus's heart sunk into his stomach before he was staring down the barrel of what seemed to be a laser gun. The man fired, but Marcus wasn't met with the maw of oblivion. Instead, he saw black for a few moments and all his bones felt like they were rattling. When the blackness subsided he fell with a thud to the ground.

He picked himself up and discerned his surroundings. He was in an alleyway. He emerged into the sidewalk of the city. The giant T tower said clearly that this was jump. But this was different, the Tower didn't have its faux gold outer frame, there weren't many glass-sheathed skyscrapers thrusting upward, and, most strangely, no one appeared to be on their phone.

Did he get sent into a parallel world? Well, if so, he thought, then the best bet would be seeking out the help of this Earth's titans. And so he began the trek to this Earth's tower.

But, of course, he was soon to learn that he had not stumbled into a parallel world
