A/N This story was the suggestion of Michele B who thought it would be nice to show Della giving Perry some TLC during TCOT Paul Drake Dilemma. These characters are the creation of ESG, and I am using them for our enjoyment.
Della heard the car door close, sat up in bed, and waited for Perry to enter their bedroom. After they received the call from Paul as they returned from dinner, Perry dropped her off at their home and drove to the police station and spoke with Paul, who was charged with suspicion of murder. When he came into the room, he headed to their closet and removed his suit jacket and pants before he headed for a shower. Della internally debated with herself whether to stay in bed or join her husband in the shower. She knew he was hurting since Paul was like a brother to both of them. Della sat up when she heard the water shut off. She knew Perry would give her the details of the arrest and along with Paul operatives, they would beat the charge and free Paul. As Perry walked into the bedroom and sat on his side of the bed before Della sat behind him and massaged his shoulders and neck. As he relaxed, he discussed the case with her.
"How's Paul? What type of evidence do they have against him?" Della placed a kiss on his neck as her hands played with his chest hair. Perry relaxed against her and relayed the events that Paul told him.
"That's a lot of circumstantial evidence that they have against him, but I know he didn't do it. We have to get him off, but right now, I am going to take care of you tonight. You need to release this pent-up frustration so we can work on his case with fresh eyes." Perry rolled over to his side of the bed and rested against the headboard as Della sat in his lap and kissed him. Della unbuttoned and removed his pajamas shirt from his body before she pulled his pants down his leg and positioned herself on his thighs. His engorged penis stood erect as Della lowered herself on Perry's penis and moved at a slow pace. Although they normally set a faster pace, Della wanted Perry to be very relaxed and loved. Perry held her close to him as she rose up and down on his long, hard penis. They climaxed together as they called out each other's names in ecstasy. After they showered together, the couple returned to bed and fell asleep with Perry spooning her from behind.
As the days went by, the couple worked on the case without their main investigator and with renewed vigor to clear Paul of the charges. While Paul was incarcerated, Perry ran the Paul Drake Detective Agency, and the operatives worked on their assigned cases as well as this case with much urgency. As the case moved to preliminary hearing, Della and Perry worked hard to get all of the pieces of the puzzle together. As witnesses testified, Della took notes, and Perry doodled as he listened carefully. Each night after court upon their arrival home, Della tried to relax Perry so he could get a peaceful night's rest. She massaged the knots and kinks from his neck and shoulders before she laid him back on her chest and rubbed his temples until he was relaxed and ready to fall asleep.
"Perry, relax. You aren't helping Paul if you are so wound up. Paul knows you're doing your best, and we will win this case. Let me take care of you. We will figure this out." Once he felt he was ready to fall asleep, he turned over and wrapped his arms around her waist.
After the third day of testimony, Perry and Della met with Faulkner, Paul's best operative, outside of the apartment building where the murder happened. While Faulkner distracted the concierge, who was buying a newspaper from the paper carrier, Della snuck into the apartment building and climbed the stairs to the second floor undetected and placed a call to the desk. After the concierge answered the phone, Perry tried to climb the stairs undetected but was caught by the concierge through his mirror on the desk.
"Mr. Mason, good evening. Isn't this an honor? Oh, but of course, you put her up to it to prove that it was possible for someone to walk past me and go up the stairway when I am busy with a telephone call. If it weren't for one handy little thing, Mr. Mason, my rear vision mirror." As he spoke to Perry, Della descended the stairs from the second floor.
As Perry said, "I want to thank you, Mr. Anders. You know there is only one thing that could positively slip by you-the truth. The concierge looked at Perry as Della walked down the stairwell from the second floor.
Good night." The concierge looked at Della in shock as Perry patted his arm and escorted Della out of the building.
Perry and Della left the apartment building and drove home where they worked on the case for the next day and enjoy their Chinese take-out. Once they figured out the strategy for court the following day, Della led him to their bedroom and undressed him before she escorted him to the bathroom where a tub full of bubbles awaited them. Perry watched as Della undressed and stepped into the tub with his help before he sat behind her and held her against his chest. The couple relaxed as they soaked in peace and tranquility. Once they bathed, Perry helped her out of the tub and carried her to their bed where he laid her in the middle of the bed before he joined her and made love. He knew once the case was closed, they would have a more intense celebration in private after a public celebration with Paul celebrating his freedom.
The trial ended when Perry called the girlfriend, Donna Kress. While she testified on the witness stand, her friend and manager confessed to the murder. The charges were dismissed against Paul. After congratulatory hugs and handshakes, the trio left the courtroom with plans to meet later for dinner as payment for Paul's defense. As the couple rode home, Perry grabbed Della's hand, pulled it to his lips, and kissed it.
"Sweetheart, thank you for taking care of me during this trial. I was really lost because everything wasn't adding up. You helped me solve this case along with the extra loving care you gave me during this time, and I appreciated it. Because of your love and devotion, we are leaving for vacation tomorrow in Hawaii as my thanks to you. We don't need to pack since we already have our things at the villa. Let me take care of you tonight and for always. I love you, Mrs. Street."
"I love you too, Mr. Street."
