Author's Note Hey I'm back with another new story this one is about the new My Adventures With Superman anime. It's a spectacular show and easily one of the best Superman adaptations ever.
Since there doesn't seem to be a category for it yet. I've decided to post it here. The series is an anime re- interpretation of the Man of Steel and his mythos and has reinvented nearly every aspect of the franchise. It's a great show I strongly suggest watching it on Cartoon Network, Adult Swim and MAX. I've been getting back into writing fanfiction after an almost 10 year hiatus from writing and hope it'll lead to many more in the future.
This will have some spoilers of recent episodes and will also feature characters from the comics and those that haven't appeared in the series proper yet. Since this show deals with the start of Superman's career and hasn't figured out all of his powers yet which is become a hallmark of this show. I hope you enjoy it.
My Adventures With Superman
Hours after he defeated Parasite and the revelations about his people from The General have left the Man of Steel with a crisis of faith. Having no knowledge of his origins or his people's history and the General's own assertions, Superman now believes he is a weapon sent here to destroy Earth.
Superman was morbidly distraught as he sat on the ground processing the deluge of information divulged to him by the General. And the horrific holograms of the supposed invasion during his interrogation. Superman had no knowledge and no frame of reference he didn't even understand the language the hologram of his father spoke. He didn't know who or what he was, and the thought of that filled him with immense dread.
His friends Lois and Jimmy tried to beat to help. To affirm that he was nothing like that. And they were right Superman is force for good, always has been, always will be. And that deep down he must know that himself. Why else would he strive to do so much good with his powers?
They were starting to make a dent but still so much doubt. It was then Lois pulled the mysterious she swiped from the League of Lois Lanes from her bag.
The same orb that showed them an evil Superman showed a new one. They learned of the existence of Supermen from across the multiverse and settled on an image of an older Superman with gray streaks along the backside of his hair. Wearing a close fitting T-shirt with a modified S Shield that had a diagonal stripe that mimicked his own logo and a pair of dark armbands. And Lois explained to Clark who this new Superman was.
"This is Superman-Prime a legendary hero from the distant future and one of the most powerful beings in existence." She said as they saw the hologram standing over them.
"It says that he like many other Supermen form a team of superheroes known to one and all as the Justice League of America. And each of these teams are formed with Superman at the helm. That means that each Superman serves as the light and inspiration to the heroes of their world and many generations to come! So matter what others may say, I know in my heart that your one of the good ones." Lois said and shook her head. And she and Jimmy nodded.
"We know that your the best Superman out there." Lois added.
"We don't know what the future holds for any of us. But whatever it is, we know you'll overcome it." Jimmy told him.
"And we don't need some futuristic orb to tell us that. There may be a million Supermen but your *our* Clark." He added.
"And what the League of Lois Lanes said about you being a threat. Their wrong. I've been over this orb a thousand times and it shows me that the number of good Supermen far out numbered the bad. The ones of you that are evil are an anomaly. In fact the number of evil Supermen can be counted on one hand. The number of good yous are in the thousands. And almost every single one of them are the greatest heroes of their worlds." She said.
Jimmy took the orb to show him a new image.
"And it's not just the League you inspire." Jimmy told him showing images of Batman, Robin, Wonder Woman, Firestorm, Flash, Green Lantern, Hawkman, Blue Beetle, Booster Gold, Mr. Terrific, Plastic Man, Aquaman, Hawkgirl, Zatanna, Constantine, Dr. Fate, Green Arrow, Black Canary, Vixen, Martian Manhunter, Fire and Ice, Blue Devil, Red Tornado, Elongated Man, Captain Atom, Shazam! and others.
The orb changed again showing an image of a boy in a black T-shirt with the traditional Superman shield.
"You have sidekicks on other worlds ones that share your heritage."
"This is Superboy, he's a clone of you on one of those Earths and joins his own team of heroes. Two of them actually ones called Young Justice and the others are the Teen Titans." He said.
The image changed to show him standing alongside Superman and then showed him with the Robin and Impulse of his world and then showing an older team of Teen Titans with Robin and Impulse along with Nightwing, Starfire, Beast Boy, Raven, Cyborg, Kid Flash, Wonder Girl, Static Shock, Blue Beetle, Terra, Speedy, Artemis and others.
"You have other sidekicks including Supergirl, your cousin from Krypton and even inspired a team of alien superheroes in the 31st century. The Legion of Super-Heroes. So you see your far beyond anything that The General tells you. Your not an invader, not a weapon. Your what you've always been...to all of us. Your a hero Clark! Your the superhero!" Lois told him..
Elsewhere it seemed as though The General was having doubts of his own. For so long he was convinced Superman was the enemy but now having seen his face and the words from Superman's own mouth he had started to wonder if his convictions had led him astray.
Many of the things he knew weren't adding up like his age. Superman looked too young to him, and couldn't have been much older than the event that changed his life. How could he not know about the event? About his origin? His people? Could he have truly been innocent? Is it possible he... touched down in another location? One the military didn't know about? What does it all mean?
What does it mean damn it?
If he's not an invader why did they send him to Earth in the first place? Is he really here to help? Could it really be that simple? Has he based his life's mission on a lie? He didn't like where any of this was going. And now that he's lost command of Task Force X it was about to get much worse.
"I think it's time we start to seek out the other heroes." Lois told them
Author's Note: Alright so what did you think of that? This is a lot different from my usual writing style and is a little more exposition since we don't know much about the show's universe. But I imagine at some point with the introduction of Batman's Vicky Vale that we'll be seeing more Justice League and DCU characters in the future.
Let me know what you think. And I also have another fic I posted a while back on my profile called Titans: CageMatch. I'm still getting used to doing this on the app. So please give that a read as well.
