Long Day's Journey…

Sequel to Wedding Daze

A/N: Lavender 73 asked for a happy ending. So, this is the last story in the series.

During the marriage ceremony of Spock and Nyota, the room fell into darkness. When the lights came up, Amanda was gone. Seconds later, Amanda rematerialized on a small spacecraft orbiting Earth.

A tall Andorian walked over and opened Amanda's mouth with his fingers. He peered inside.

"We can replace it with a donor tongue from Orion." He said.

Amanda wrapped her arms around his neck and attempted to thank him. He pushed her away.

"The Vulcans are probably on their way. We must leave immediately," he said.

Ashran and Amanda had a long history. They had met before Spock was born. He was attracted to her, but she loved Sarek fiercely. Ashran was blamed as the cause of Amanda's Kafeh status because he had propositioned her, but she had not betrayed her mate. She flatly refused.

Later that night, Skon, Sarek's father, lusted after the comely human female. When T'Pau found out, she had Skon murdered and tried to kill Amanda. Sarek loved Amanda and saved her life, but she was reduced to a slave. Ashran used full impulse to get to Uranus. Then, he warped out of the system. He looked for traces of Vulcan warp signatures; satisfied that he had averted capture, he turned to his lover.

Back on Earth, Sarek dispatched two Vulcan ships. He also requested one from Starfleet. Between the ships, they triangulated Ashran's location. Sarek then returned to the wedding reception as though nothing had happened. However, Sarek suspected that someone with great influence was manipulating Silva. The Vulcans would keep a safe distance and surveil Ashran until the baby was born. Then, they would draw out the culprit.

For the first time that day, Nyota could relax. Amanda and McCoy were the last two known threats to her safety. McCoy was locked in the caverns, and Amanda was gone for now. She and Spock danced slowly for most of the evening, taking a break only for the customary wedding activities.

Across the room, Puri sat stoically. He, too, was approached by Janice to join forces with Silva. Puri was too close to retirement to take the risk, and quite honestly, he was too lazy to be of use as an operative. Puri exhaled slowly in relief. Several other members of Starfleet, including M'Benga, McCoy, and Rand had disappeared. Senator Silva was gone as well. Yet President Inyo did little about the situation. Puri realized that he would not even be an afterthought if he had crossed the Vulcans. That is why he spent half a week's credits on a gift for Spock and the child. Puri gulped down a shot of a very expensive port. Puri had no idea Nyota's child was Vulcan when he told Spock Nyota had baggage.

The evening was drawing to a close. Puri walked over to the couple. Spock was holding Nyota by the waist. All of the Vulcans had left except for the guards and Ambassador Spock.

"I sincerely wish you both well," Puri said. He nodded and walked out.

Spock had questioned Puri's work ethic and his intelligence, but one thing was certain: Puri was loyal to Starfleet and the Federation. He turned down a lucrative offer from Silva. Spock decided that Puri could be corrected with minimal effort. Then, Spock could rest assured that Nyota would be safe at work. Spock and Sarek had been playing a defensive game for too long. It was time for some offense.

Spock looked around the room. Most of the guests had departed. He picked up his spouse and carried her outside.

"What are you doing?" Nyota asked with a giggle.

"I am carrying you over the threshold," Spock replied.

"Well, you will have to do it again when we get home. That is when it counts." She said.

"I would be honored to do so," Spock replied as he placed her inside the embassy car,

'Take us home, J'Eeves," Spock said.

"Are you making this up?" she asked.

Spock closed the partition. "Part of the requirement for this job was a name change. Our driver is now a sub-group of our clan." Spock replied.

Nyota shook her head. When they first bonded, Nyota was fearful of Spock. Now, he seemed more like the officer she knew on the Farragut. He had always had a droll sense of humor, but only Nyota seemed to notice.

Five days later, Amanda had a new tongue grafted, and six days after that, she spoke for the first time since the night McCoy returned and disclosed Silva's plot.

"I am pregnant," she said as she sat between Ashran's knees. This was most often how he preferred her unless Sarek was not around. She was a sex slave, but she was still Sarek's mate.

Over the years, Amanda had been used by many others during Sarek's parties. She bore the scars of much abuse from Vulcans, Nausicans and others. However, Spock had taken pity on her, and he tried to restore her body, but she was no longer the beauty she once was, even after the Orion spa treatments and skin grafts.

"Is it mine?" he asked. She and Ashran were in the middle of coitus when Sarek pulled her away. Spock was disgusted by the public display. Sarek kept her as a sex slave, but public displays were prohibited.

Spock repaired her wound that night and injected Amanda with hormones. However, she also copulated Sarek that night. It wasn't planned, but it was her chance to escape the status of Kafeh.

"I am unsure," Amanda said. She looked away.

"You have been with your enslaver," he sneered.

"I had no choice. Besides, he gave me my freedom back because I submitted. I wouldn't be here with you if I hadn't."

Ashran knew Amanda would not exist at all if she resisted her enslaver. Now, she was restored as Sarek's mate. Amanda could have been beneficial as an Andorian operative while on Earth. However, she was useless on Orion. She was far too haggard to be sold into slavery. Still, a Vulcan child would prove helpful. Especially the child of the S'chn T'gai clan.
