One year and a few months after the Uchiha clan Massacre
Training began immediately for Mika, the next moment he woke, he was in a metallic base, in a small room with a bed and a set of shelves covered in books. He stood, walking to the door, when it opened and he saw Lord Danzo.
"Good, you're awake. Come with me." Mika nodded and followed the man, amazed he had little soreness in his body. " You have been in a coma for a week while we healed you. You have been allowed to start your training. Your mentor will be Fuu." He gestured to a long bridge with a orange haired older boy looking at him with cold acceptance. "He will be training you in all things I expect of my ROOT. Once we see where your skills lie, we will see about getting you a more permanent tutor."
Mika, keeping himself quiet, nodded. "Yessir."
"Hmm... normally, I take clan ninja, who are trained from an early age. You haven't had that training, so you will be expected to start out for the next three months by beginners exercises, access your chakra, and learning taijutsu, handsigns and throwing skills all the while reading while you rest. That is why you have a series of books to get started on."
"I like to read, I have always learned fast."
Danzo nodded. "So we have noticed, I checked your records, you are quite the mind. You would have excelled as a civilian, let us see if that applies to you new fate as a ninja."
And so began three months of complete and utter hell. In the first week he had shin splints from constant jogging, sprints and spars. His sprained his wrist twice from practicing his throwing weapons. His chakra coils were small, coming from a civilian born bloodline, as were his reserves so he had to practice sticking leaves to his body as soon as he managed to master that skill. He never went to bed without them burning from overuse.
He read more in the first week than he had in a month before. He was terrified to do anything but that, it was his crutch skill, the one skill he could fully master without bone breaking work. Speaking of bone breaking, even his high pain tolerance meant nothing after punching a punching bag for an hour. He broke three fingers and two ribs after sparring with Fuu, and while he was being healed he was informed of his many mistakes, and then after that he had to describe his mistakes.
'I was too slow. My reflexes were not enough. I should have dodge to the left. I overextended."
On and on it went, but boy did he learn fast.
Still, results were a powerful motivator.
By the end of his three month training, Mika was an entirely different monster. He was faster, stronger, and far more educated. He could never imagine besting Fuu, but he could dodge with the best of them. He could climb walls with just his chakra or bodies of water, something he did often while sparring. He got incredibly good at describing his many mistakes in combat. He had always been bright, but getting the crap kicked out of you daily did nothing better than making you aware of your mistakes for no other reason then preventing them from getting you killed.
"He's improved, Lord Danzo." Fuu said, presenting him to Danzo after their three months was over.
Mika was kneeling, he hated prostrating himself like that but he knew better than to resist. This was only temporary, until he could use this stolen power to free himself one day in the future.
Danzo hummed and hawwed for a long moment. "I have seen his progress... boy, all of my soldiers have a speciality. Where do you think yours will lie?"
Mika looked up, eyes dead of all emotions like he saw with all other soldiers he ran into. "Fuu said you have few healers. I seem to be skilled a chakra control, and I learn fast. I have read most of my books already, it would be a good way to make me useful while waiting for my civilian born body to catch up to my mind."
The man nodded, smirking. "Then so be it. We are in need of healers, you will begin under our head medic working in autopsies. I expect results, dear boy." The man said, almost mockingly. "Your sword training will begin immediately as well, if for no other reason than getting you more reach. Continue training and one day, you may rise to a higher status, maybe even a person guard of mine."
And all Mika did was nod, saying. "That would be an honor." All the while seething, waiting to one day be free of the hell that was ROOT and rise on his own power. He did not kill his father to just be a servant of another. He was a survivor, and no one could take that from him...
Not even Danzo.
Chapter end, tell me what you think in the reviews.
This was a joy to write.
