June 1st, 1946
The start of summer had rolled on and the crow brothers, Dandy Crow, Fats, Deacon, Dopey and Specks, all five of the male black crows were hanging around in a big and tall tree in the countryside.
"You okay, Dopey? I did tell you to watch out for that tree, you know." Dandy said while making sure Dopey was alright.
Dopey was shaking his head as if to shake his vision back into place like a person shaking their hips a bit when putting on a pair of pants. His dizziness subsided immediately.
"Well, my head has stopped spinning so I'm an okay brotha." reassured Dopey. "Besides, it was only a tree branch."
"A tree branch the size of an adult human's arm." Dandy reminded.
That's when Dandy made a whistling sound that made it sound like a cartoonish whistling sound that of someone falling from a high height and he made a painful yet cawing sound that almost sounded like choking sound as if someone got kicked in the crotch.
"Okay, so the branch was a little bigger than expected. But I'm alright." reassured Dopey once again. "But I'll try to watch where I fly next time."
"It could've been a whole lot worse." said Specks. "It could've been a..."
Specks words were cut short when he started to hear what sounded like traditional pop, jazz and jump blues music playing nearby and the sounds of the music was getting closer and a bit louder as it got closer.
"Well I'll be. Hey brothas, listen to what I hear." said Specks with a grin.
All five of the black crow brothers fell silent and listened to what Specks was hearing. That's when they heard the sound of the music he heard and they could hear it getting closer and the closer it got, the clearer and louder it got but it wasn't getting louder in an annoying way but it was only getting louder in a sense to where they could hear it better.
They turned to face where the direction the music was coming from and they saw something that immediately caught their eye. They saw that a young male human teenager was walking up the path a ways from nearby. The young male human teenager was tall, probably five feet and nine inches tall, having what probably looked like a healthy yet muscular body, he appeared to be sixteen years old, but he was wearing a plain black T-shirt, blue jean pants and black leather steel toed boots. He had a backpack with him that he had his arms through the straps.
But what they noticed most about this human male teenager was he was Caucasian, had a handsome face and a full head of long, thick, voluminous, beautiful blonde hair that was parted down the middle, below shoulder length and he looked like a very beautifully handsome male human teenager. This left the crow brothers wide eyed at the sight of the beautiful human male teenager as he passed by the tree they were in but saw he stopped nearby to place his backpack down and he even had what looked like a portable, battery-operated radio with him that he placed down next to his backpack.
They saw as the music kept playing. The human male teenager was dancing to the music a little bit as if he needed to take a moment to rest and relax by enjoying the music.
"He was a famous trumpet man from out Chicago way. He had a boogie style that no one else could play. He was the top man at his craft. But then his number came up and he was gone with the draft. He's in the army now, a-blowin' reveille; he's the boogie woogie bugle boy of Company B. They made him blow a bugle for his Uncle Sam. It really brought him down because he couldn't jam. The captain seemed to understand, because the next day the cap' went out and drafted a band, and now the company jumps when he plays reveille; he's the boogie woogie bugle boy of Company B"
"You boys see what I see?" asked Specks looking on with a blushing grin.
"Beautiful human white boy." they all said in mystified unison.
They snapped back to reality once they realized what they just said out loud. The human male teenager stopped dancing and turned off the portable radio he had with him as he began to tend to something or more like re-lacing his boots, drinking a bit of water from his large jug of a canteen and even eating on what looked like a large granola bar that he devoured whole and drinking a bit more water.
"Did my brothas just say what I think they said?" said Dandy a little surprised.
"I believe we all said it, Dandy." said Deacon pointing out a truth to what they've said.
"We never seen a boy like him before. Looky there at that cutie. Them long, golden locks of sunshine." said Specks blushing with a grin.
"That muscular body, mmmhmmm." said Fats flirtatiously.
"That handsomely beautiful, well chiseled face." said Dopey.
"That sexy, tight ass." they all said in unison.
There was a pause and they all were blushing deeply at what they all just said out loud once again. They were ogling a young, handsome looking human male and they felt like they were ether not bothered by it or just surprised by it or both.
"Are you brothas actually having the same thoughts and feelings towards that white cutie ray of sunshine as I am?" asked Dandy rhetorically.
They looked at each other with realization and a grin but they also heard the male human teenager speak out loud a little bit which they heard what his voice sounds like.
"I hope I meet up with the family at the farm in the countryside for the summer. The train ride here from New York to Florida was from the morning, during the night and this morning." the blonde male human teenager spoke.
They found out he spoke in deep voice with a Brooklyn Italian accent which the five black male crows began to sing out how they feel about this young male human teenager which they were good singers that sounded like they ether sang in the choir or that they sang the same way that the song on his portable radio did when it was playing it on the station.
"He's a cutie patootie with the long blonde hair. He's from New York City with a romantic flair. All the brothas and the sistas know him as Mr. Sunshine. Every brotha and sista want to go up to him and say "Hey Mr. Sunshine, come on over and be mine" his beauty is what is unmatched by any other cutie patootie, but when he comes a walkin over and all the brothas and the sistas see he's from New York City. He's a real blonde headed beauty. That's when he comes on over and gets a lot of suggie wuggie from the brothas and the sistas who show him how to boogie woogie as he's a cutie patootie from New York City"
That's when the young male human teenager could hear the black male crows singing and he looked around at first to see if someone was singing nearby but he didn't see anyone, he even checked his portable radio and it was turned off. That's when he looked up and saw them five crows singing and dancing.
"When he comes along to the club and does his jam. His music is always a grand slam. That's when he draws the attention of every brotha and every sista from far and wide and drives them a wild. Heart's a racin, cheeks a blushin, but his love is a somethin that can't be hidden, he's a sunshine child. That's when he comes on over and gets a lot of suggie wuggie from the brothas and the sistas who show him how to boogie woogie as he's a cutie patootie from New York City"
That's when the boy began to blush deeply as he sees that these five black crow male birds were singing about him, flirting with him, practically hitting on him. After their singing was over and the music faded. Dandy was the first to fly down towards the boy and he managed to land near him but crawled up to him to get up to his face's level as he was now hanging from his chest and shoulders area while he given the boy's face a look over and saw that the boy actually has a handsome face like one of them said. Dandy smiled with blushing cheeks.
"Well will you looky here boys! This white human boy is much more of a hunky cutie when in person or when you give him a closer gander." said Dandy calling to his friends.
The other crows flew down to the white male human teenager and they suddenly surrounded him with Specks perched on top of his head, Deacon and Dopey sitting on his shoulders with Deacon on his right and Dopey on his left, and Fats was sitting in the boy's lap. The five crows were giving the boy a closer look and they were all wide eyed from surprise as they were blushing with grins.
"Dandy's right, this boy has a handsomely cute face." said Dopey with realization.
"Sweet Jesus, it would be surprising if he was single." said Deacon.
"He's got hair like golden sunshine. He's like a lion with a blonde mane." said Specks as he ran his feather like hands and fingers through his hair which his thick blonde hair was silky smooth and soft.
"Fellas, maybe we should learn Mr. Sunshine's name?" suggested Fats. "Even though he looks like any brotha and sista would be lucky to have him as their white honey bunny. So what's your name, sunshine?"
"Leonardo." the boy said with a hiccup.
"Well Leo, I must say. You look like a handsome young man of sunshine." said Dandy giving him a wink and grin.
"So tell my fellas and I what you put in your long, golden locks of blonde hair, big boy. I could probably style your hair if you wanted me to." said Specks while giving Leonardo's long, thick, beautiful blonde hair some strokes with his feather like hands and fingers.
"Wait a minute, brothas. Don't ya'll think we're kind of crowdin him or creepin him out a little?" said Fats snapping back out of the lovestruck mindset.
After they paused for a moment and looked at Leonardo with nervous grins at first. Leonardo uttered a few hiccups.
"Hey sunshine, we can stop if this is, you know, crowdin and creepin on ya." said Dandy showing some reassurance.
"I may have a confession." said Leonardo speaking up.
"We're listening, sunshine." said Dandy as they were lending him their ears.
"Is it normal for a white boy like me to, you know, have a liking for black people?" Leonardo whispered to them. "I hold no hate, no discrimination and no prejudice towards them. They're people like you and me. They're just trying to do the same thing everyone else is doing. Live a good life, make an honest living, help their friends and family when they need it, looking out for each other. Anyone who holds any hate, prejudice or discrimination against them is inhuman who doesn't know what love is. We're all equal under the eyes of God."
Hearing Leonardo's words of compassion towards African Americans and even towards the black male crow birds seem to leave them both with a positive realization about how pure of heart Leonardo is as well as how it left them with a warm feeling of love on the inside.
"Awww, did you learn such love and compassion for others from someone in the family, even love and compassion for the brothas and sistas?" asked Dandy in a sweet tone.
"A good, lovin boy like him probably learned it from his mama or grandma or even from the entire family." said Fats with his best guess.
"Learned it from mostly everyone in the family but learned the majority of it from my...mother." Leonardo admitted while blushing deeply.
Leonardo expected them to be cracking wise or laughing at him but the laughter and wise cracks never came. He was met by a lot of warm hugs from them as the entire group of black grow friends were hugging him and showing him love.
"A cutie patootie little white human boy with a heart bigger than ever." said Dandy with warmth in his tone.
"His family must be raising him right." said Deacon with a grin.
"Just askin out of curiosity. The way we were being before. It wasn't crowdin on ya or creepin on ya, was it?" said Dopey hoping to hear some good news. "We were basically just struck by your beauty. It's as if we were seeing someone from a royal family."
"I get along with the people from the black community pretty well. But we need more people to stand in for them as promoting human rights for them." Leonardo stated. "That, and I've grown fond of you guys. Would you object if I said you're flirting, the way you were hitting on me or even how you guys were showing love and affection towards me has left me a blushing mess with my heart racing?"
The five male black crows looked at one another for a moment and a smile spread across their faces. They see that Leonardo actually has love and compassion towards African Americans, especially towards them. The fact that he didn't mind how they were flirting with him, hitting on him and even getting affectionate with Leonardo was something that was not only a huge relief for them to hear but also left their hearts racing from excitement. They saw that Leonardo's face was still red as a firetruck. They winked at each other before looking back at Leonardo.
"So you like the brothas and the sistas and have sort of become an honorary brotha, huh?" said Deacon proudly.
"To some, yes, but isn't it controversial for a white guy to, you know, consider themselves one? I feel like for the African Americans, that's their thing as they got that started for them first and a white guy shouldn't take that from them, especially that a white guy shouldn't intrude on that." said Leonardo feeling a bit nervous as he was trying not to offend them.
"Now hold up a second, sunshine." said Dandy as he placed his hands on Leonardo's chest where his heart was located. "You being all nervous about relationships between black and white is leaving you as nervous as a rabbit and a Chihuahua. You gotta relax, my blonde-haired cutie."
"You ain't offending anyone from how compassionate and understanding you're being towards us and our people. We can see you're trying not to offend when talking about a subject that is considered controversial to others and that's something that can warm the hearts of our brethren." said Fats with a grin.
"You have quite the open mind and heart for others, regardless of what color they are. That's about as rare as finding a four-leaf clover freshly plucked from a clover patch." said Specks pointing out a positive detail.
"If you got the brothas and the sistas really going for ya like we are and get along with them peacefully with a lot of love and compassion, understanding enough to know that what the brothas and the sistas go through isn't right, and if you actually do your part in helpin them out. Then you and your family are doing something right." said Deacon with some reassurance. "Am I right, boys?"
"Amen brotha!" said the crows in unison.
"Me and my family have done our part in what you've mentioned. We've been doing so for quite a long time. A family member of ours is what got it started." Leonardo pointed out.
"Oh? Was this before you was born, sunshine?" asked Fats curiously.
"Yes sir. A family member of mine began doing her part somewhere in the beginning of 1820. That was ten years before our family came to America and settled here. We were fresh off the boat when we hail from Lombardy but had to head for Liguria to get here by boat." Leonardo stated. "The family member that got it started was Bianca Capaldi, one of our ancestors who was among others that did their part in equal human rights for the black community as well as for others. She was among those who took part in abolishing slavery. Even though me and family are, you know, Caucasian." Leonard explained while telling them who took part in the human rights movement while he felt like he was on shaky ground in talking about the said topic.
"So that's how it got started for your clan?" said Dopey.
"Yes, even though there were plenty of other people who took part in the movement. We're still taking part in human rights for both the black community and other people, no matter the race, gender or nation." said Leonardo showing a calm expression. "Yet we still face some challenges with it but we always find a way to make something work."
"At least you and your family are doing something and still trying and pushing forwards no matter what comes next." said Dandy showing admiration. "A little off topic but you say something about visiting family at the farm in the countryside for the summer. We couldn't help but overhear when you stopped by to rest your feet."
"Yes, been doing that for ten years. It wasn't till I was thirteen when they figured that they wanted me to walk from the train station to the farm on foot on my own. I pretty much know the area like the back of my hand by now. It's like a summer vacation idea for myself. Better that than going to a summer camp. My folks didn't trust the idea of summer camps so they figured that a summer vacation idea would be a safer peace of mind if it's being with same family in another area, rather than with strangers we don't know." Leonardo stated.
"Your folks sound like well-meaning people." said Dandy as he suddenly given Leonardo a flirtatious expression with a grin, lifting his eyebrows up and down and sensually stroking his finger around the boy's chest. "Hey sunshine. Would you object if we were to, you know, give you some sugar?"
Hearing this left Leonardo to blush once again, his heart racing again while the five black male crow birds were giving him a flirtatious look with a grin. Oddly, Leonardo felt like they were seducing him or attempting to show him how much they love him as much as how much he loves them. Which he oddly didn't mind.
"Are you fellas trying to flirt with me or even more than that?" said Leonardo with a blushing grin and hiccup.
The five male black crow birds leaned into his face's view with blushing grins while giving him a wink.
"Yes we are, Mr. Sunshine." said the five crows in unison with a bit of a flirtatious tone in their voices.
"Come to big daddy Dandy, Sunshine." said Dandy with a chuckle.
Dandy was the first to kiss Leonardo as he planted his soft and big, full lips to the boy's lips to smooch him. His lips were really soft but quite big and full which to Leonardo, this left him wide eyed at first but closed his eyes immediately once he felt Dandy's lips press to his. The other crows were surprised to see one of them smooching Leonardo because one or two of them would've tried to dare one of them to be the first to kiss him but seeing their leader, Dandy, being the first to smooch Leonardo was surprising to them.
"I didn't expect ether of us to do that so soon yet." said Specks.
"I would've figured one of you would dare one of us to do that." said Fats while looking at Dopey or Deacon.
"We all know who would most likely dare one of us to do that." said Specks also looking as Dopey and Deacon.
"That's so us." said Deacon and Dopey in unison.
Dandy eventually pulled his big, full, soft lips from Leonardo's lips in a loud pop which left Dandy with a smile and some form of excitement in his eyes as if he was satisfying his curiosity to what giving Leonardo a kiss to his lips would be like and now felt glad he did that.
"Dandy, what was it like kissing Mr. Sunshine?" said Deacon his curiosity getting the better of him in excitement.
Dandy and the other crows looked at Dandy's grin than looked at Leonardo who was blushing his deepest shade of red but he hiccupped loudly a few times and a smile formed on his face while he looked away for a moment as if his shyness reappeared.
"Hey Sunshine, how was it?" asked Fats.
Leonardo hiccupped a few times again before he spoke.
"That was my first kiss." said Leonardo as he turned to face them with a small grin. "And there was fireworks."
The crows all smiled and looked excited from this as they now know that Leonardo likes being kissed by them. Dandy suddenly gotten an idea.
"You heard him brothas. Let's give this cutie patootie some sugar." Dandy eagerly commanded.
All five of them turned their attention to Leonardo and playfully pinned him on his back to the ground while each one of them given the boy's face a barrage of smooches. Each one of them would be smooching Leonardo on his forehead, cheeks and lips over and over which of course the boy was feeling his heart race from excitement while he was smooched all over the face by their big, full, soft lips.
"Woo wee! It's like kissing sunshine." said Specks excitedly.
"Dawwww, look at that cutie patootie's face. He's blushing." said Deacon playfully.
"I'm loving the smoochin we're given him, boys. I think he likes it." said Dopey giggling.
"Big daddies giving him sugar and lots of deep rich dark chocolate to go with it. Come to big daddies, Mr. Sunshine." said Fats affectionately.
"Mmmmhmmmm! Big daddy Dandy likes to get a little cozy with this lovin blonde haired honey bunny of sunshine." said Dandy playfully while being a flirt.
After a long time of smooching Leonardo with a barrage of kisses. They heard Leonardo hiccupping and giggling from their affections on him. They eventually stopped but suddenly began to have each one of them smooch him on his lips.
"Cutie wittle bug-a-boo." said Specks as he smooched Leonardo on the lips and both of them felt the fireworks.
After Specks smooched him on the lips and pulled his big and soft lips off his in a loud pop. That's when Dopey came up next.
"A heart of gold as well as gold hair. I'm lovin what I see." said Dopey as he too planted his lips to Leonardo's lips in deep smooch with his big and soft lips pressed to his.
During the smooch between Dopey and Leonardo. There were fireworks between them too. He took a while to eventually pull his big and soft lips from his in a loud pop. That's when Deacon came up next.
"Sweet Jesus, I'm gonna rock your world and show some love." said Deacon as he planted his big and soft lips to Leonardo's lips in a deep smooch which also shown there was fireworks.
The kiss between Deacon and Leonardo was passionate yet dreamy as both of them felt fireworks from it but also felt their hearts race from it. Deacon did eventually pull his soft and big, full lips off his in a loud pop and that's when Fats came up next.
"Hey, hey, hey, sunshine. It's big daddy." said Fats with some flirtation as he planted his soft and big, full lips to Leonardo's lips in a deep smooch which there was also fireworks between them.
As Fats smooched Leonardo on the lips. Both of them felt like the fireworks were going off in their minds like it was the fourth of July again. Fats even given Leonardo's shoulders and chest a rub down during the long, deep smooch which left the boy's body to feel a relaxed warmth as well as a brief quiver from the way it felt incredible. After a long smooch to his lips was when Fats pulled his big and soft lips from his in a loud pop. That's when Dandy come up for a round of smooching.
"The fireworks have been lit and it's about to be like 4th of July." said Dandy flirtatiously.
Dandy didn't waste any time and he planted his big, soft, full lips to Leonardo's lips in a big, deep smooch. Leonardo felt like all these kisses from them was making him melt with warmth inside. They all felt the warmth inside that melted their hearts from when they kissed Leanardo.
"Now that's a kiss." said Fats with a grin and wink.
"Oh yeah. Now that's how you kiss a ray of sunshine." said Deacon blushing with a grin.
Dandy and Leonardo really felt like they were getting their all in this which Dandy eventually did pull his big and soft, full lips off the boy's lips in a loud pop as well. After a few moments, Leonardo fainted to the ground which left the five black crow male birds a little worried yet surprised.
"Hey Mr. Sunshine, you alright? Hey fellas, do you think we went a little too far?" said Dandy with a bit of worry.
"I was actually thinking he was enjoying it. I know we were." stated Fats.
After examining Leonardo for a moment. He slowly opened his eyes, once opened, his face was still rosy red and he sat up straight which of course he turned on the portable radio he had with him and rock and roll music was playing which of course the black male crow birds were smiling as they saw the boy had quite a harmonious singing voice.
"Hey there everybody! Feelin lucky! Oh you know I am! I've kissed by soul brothas, it was like no other. Made my head spin with a big wide grin!"
That's when the five black crow male birds saw that he was expressing his feelings from how their kisses made him feel which they smiled and began to sing along with him.
"Kissed again, by some funky soul brothas. Just like last summer. Yeaaah, kissed again, like we did last ye-e-ear. Do you remember when, things were really sparkin. Yeaaaah, kissed again, with my soul brothas here!"
They briefly vocalized till they were singing together with such harmony and it sounded so beautiful.
"Heeee, that kiss took me round and round, lifted me up and down we go-o-o again. Oh, baby, makes me know you love me so-o-o-o-o! And then. Kissed again, by some funky soul brothas. Come on, kissed again. Like we did last year! KISSED! YO!"
That's when both Leonardo and his black male crow bird friends began to move their bodies around like they were dancing as the music was sounding like it was playing both rock and roll with some jazz music added to it. They even sang a little bit of "doo-wop" to the music.
"Who's that, walking over here? Are they birds? Noooooo. Are they planes? Noooooooo. Are they Mr. Sunshine and his soul brothas? YEAAAAAAAHH! Kissed again, by some funky soul brothas. Just like last summer. Come on, kissed again, like we did last ye-e-ear! Do you remember when, things were really sparkin. Come on, kissed again. With my soul brothas here!"
They beautifully vocalized before continuing to sing along together which such beautiful harmony among them.
"Heeeee, that kiss took me around and around, lifted me up and down we go-o-o again. Oh, baby, makes me know you love me so-o-o-o-o! And then. Come on, kissed again, like we did last summer. Bo-o-oy! Kissed again, like we did last year! Come on, kissed again, by my funky soul brothas heeeere!"
The music ended and they finished with a couple of final "Doo-wops" and that's when Leonardo turned the radio off. They lay there and leaned against the big tree while the black crow male birds would be surrounding Leonardo, hugging him as he hugged them back.
"Leo, you're quite the soul brotha." said Dandy kindly.
"We're all equal under the eyes of God." said Leonardo with pride.
"Amen!" they all said in unison.
All five of the black male crow birds given Leonardo a smooch to his face from his forehead, cheeks and lips. This left him blushing with a smile as well as a chuckle. That's when one of them thought of something.
"Hey Sunshine. Do you know where your family member's farm is at? Maybe we can escort you there." suggested Dandy kindly.
"Oh, I'll admit, I've been going there for a long time but they did say they just got through repainting the place." said Leonardo with a little bit of worry.
"Is this place where the people living there have made bird feeders or that they use bird feeders, bird waterers and have some bird baths?" asked Fats curiously.
"Actually yes, they have that around the farm in the front and backyard." said Leonardo with some optimism in his spirits. "Hey guys, why not come with me. We get plenty of birds visiting the farm here and there as well as other farms nearby our own. The family is good with people as much as they're good with animals."
"What do you think brothas?" said Dandy with a grin.
"Sounds groovy." said the crows in unison.
Leonardo smiled as he got up on his feet. He placed everything back into his backpack but had the portable radio strapped back to his belt while he pulled out what looked like a carrier of some sort that he had strapped to himself which that's when Specks was sitting on top of Leonardo's head, Deacon sitting on his right shoulder, Dopey sitting on his left shoulder. Dandy and Fats rode in a big pocket compartment of the carrier that Leonardo had strapped on him like a baby Bjorn.
"Let's head out." said Leonard as he walked off.
That's when Leonardo walked off with the five male black crow birds hitching a ride with him as they made it to the farm that Leonardo's relatives live on. The family members that lived on the farm or anyone that lived on the farm for that matter were an aunt and uncle of his, two cousins of his, one male, the other female, and four farmhands, two of them female and the other two male. All four of the farmhands were African American and were treated with compassion, love and care as Leonardo's family have proven they treated African Americans just like how Leonardo said when he states that both Caucasians and African Americans and all people are "all equal under the eyes of God"
They met Dandy, Fats, Deacon, Dopey and Specks which of course they've immediately bonded with them and immediately grew fond of as they found it adorable that the five male black grows have fallen in love with Leonardo and Leonardo has fallen in love with them. During that, the five black male crow birds had a wonderful time there as they loved the food from the bird feeders as well as they were given some treats here and there such as red apples and some sweet fruit, the bird waterers had plenty of water, the bird baths were relaxing yet it was a blessing to wash themselves off in the bird baths.
There were times when the five black male crow birds and Leonardo spent some time snuggling, kissing and making out as well as having some romantic moments together as both Leonardo and the five black male crows have formed a romantic love for each other. They knew that this was going to be a very interesting summer.
