Kenichi: Alternate Route

Kenichi Shirihama is an aspiring martial artist in his second year in high school. His best friend/love interest "Miu Furinji" who has unspoken feelings for him. However, such a good guy has attracted other girls to him, like "Renka Ma" the daughter of one of his other instructors, she is more open about her feelings for the mightiest disciple of Ryozanpaku. In the morning Kenichi has trained well enough to consume his breakfast before his instructors steal it.

Renka: Well Kenichi, did you enjoy the breakfast I made, that omen rice thing was fun to make? Working in a restaurant pays off.

Kenichi: Yeah, it was great Renka, your shop must be losing business without you there.

Renka laughed and noticed he had rice on his cheek, then picked it off and fed it to Kenichi.

Renka: It's too good to waste, mm mm.

Kenichi looked to his right, seeing Miu grabbing the table with a grip strong enough to crack it, not hiding her jealousy well if at all.

Miu: Kenichi, I noticed you have been doing good in Muay Thai, why don't you and Apachi have a sparring match to see how far you have gotten in training?

Remembering the danger of Apachi, Kenichi decided to head out and wonder about his adventures with the blonde superhuman girl he had been spending time with.

Kenichi: Man, Miu gets so jealous when other girls are around me, I wish she would say something and say she likes me.

Renka: Well, what about me, big boy? (Kiss on cheek)

Kenichi: Waah! Renka, you followed me to school, and you were listening right?

Renka: Maybe, but there's something important that I should point out, there is a beautiful girl right in front of you. Miu is a boring little maid around the dojo, sure sometimes those punks show up, but they are grunts. If you come back to China with me you will have enough thugs on a near daily basis, you'll be a master before you know it.

Kenichi: I don't want my life to be a warzone… anymore than it is already. Wait, I meet Miu first and that is why I am at Ryozanpaku now, but what if I had met you first Renka, do you have any idea?

Renka: Well actually yes I do, imagine this scenario….

Kenichi Shirihama, a freshman at Koryo High, who was bullied since elementary school maybe before. One day after failing his audition for the Karate club and being harassed, he got on the wrong bus and ended up in Chinatown.

Kenichi: Woah, this place is trendy, maybe I should just relax a minute at this restaurant. (He orders food and is amazed by the palate.) Sweet this place is amazing.

Renka: Hello, sir I hope you're enjoying yourself, please call if you need anything. (Renka playfully winked at him.) Thinking: That should get me a decent tip.

Then soon after the meal a group of scary-looking men showed up and started breaking things, the leader came forward to announce. "We are here for Kensei Ma, come out now and we will spare your and everyone else 's lives and leave you for your brother."

Kenichi: What is going on are these people for real I don't want to die, wait a minute that waitress I have to get her to safety.

The teenager was stunned to see her already attacking the thugs with great skill in Chinese martial arts. But after the fight one snuck up behind her, then Kenichi ran to attack the thug.

Renka: Does this guy know martial arts, is he from a rival gang?

Then the thugs beat him easily.

Renka: Never mind, just some brave fool, oh well I should do something.

Then to her surprise Kenichi got back up and continued to fight with everything he had no matter how hard they hit him.

Renka decided that it was enough and went to defeat the thugs easily, amazing Kenichi.

Renka: Well they'll be back but it's fun beating them up, as for you, after taking a beating in the restaurant, call the bill even. By the way, if you want to learn how to do more than take a beating I know a master of chinese martial arts that could even help you out.

Kenichi: Really, thank you I have been meaning to learn to fight! So what kind of style are we learning?

Renka: All of them.

That evening the two went to Ryozanpaku, and met Kensei Ma. At first Kenichi was just as scared of the master's as the main timeline but came around to them.

Kensei: Hello sir, I am Kensei Ma. The masters, me included, will be teaching you vigorously, but if you are as brave as my daughter says you are then I have, non-doubt you will make a fine warrior.

Renka(Thinking): That'll make a nice slogan. How many has he used that on?

Kensei: We are going to do a lot of hard training. This will be the most pain you have ever felt.

Kenichi made a run for it but tripped and landed onto Renka's bosom, cushioning his fall.

Then Kensei used acupuncture needles to stun Kenichi and drag him back.

Over the next few weeks Kenichi was trained by the Masters in kenpo, muay thai, karate, jujitsu, and weaponry. After going back to school after the break Kenichi was ready to fight. Then a member of the newspaper club "Haruo Niijima" someone who wanted to document the event of Kenichi in battle.

Niijima: Hello, Kenichi buddy, I will document the beating of the century for the school paper and sell tickets.

Kenichi: That'll be your beating if you keep talking like that, you Alien menace. (Kenichi said as he grabbed his throat, lifting him up with one hand, making use of his newly developed strength). Then tossed him aside like a ragdoll, into the trash cans, covering him in bruises.

Niijima: What the heck, happened to that guy, I heard he went to Chinatown, maybe he's had some kind of steroids or chinese muscle augmentation surgery?

Suddenly, in the corner of his eye he saw a group of large men in Chinese clothing, muttering about Shirihami, and a sinister plan came to his mind.

After school Kenichi went to the karate club to fight Daimonji, the giant who tormented him in the club and many other martial arts clubs (Judo, boxing, wrestling, etc.) showed up to watch the two fight or beat Kenichi themselves.

Kenichi: All right guys, I may have left the club a while ago, but I've been training hard for what's coming next, payback. When I win you all are going to clean the school for a month.

Daimonji: Yeah, right you little runt, I'll crush you to dust weak knees Kenichi.

Kenichi: I hate that name, now you taste the power of Kenichi Shirahama, Mightiest disciple of Ryozanpaku.

Renka: That was corny, but it's his fight.

Then Kenichi used his skills on the bullies; his blinding speed let him dodge all their attacks.

He used sweep kicks, knocking Daimonji off balance and to the ground, then grabbed him and threw him over his shoulder, and with great speed Kenichi drill punched him right in the solar plexus.

The onlookers had dropped-jaws, cold sweats, it was amazing Kenichi was so strong, as opposed to what they thought before.

Judo Captain: What the heck is going on? Some of those weren't karate moves, some you can't even use in sparring matches.

Referee: Kenichi you are disqualified if you use those moves again, this is your only opponent, step forward.

Captain of the karate club showed up ready to drill the lesson into the newly trained martial artist. When the fight started he swung a punch Kenichi stopped with blinding speed. Followed by a straight kick to the gut, and grabbed the back of his head and kneed him in the face knocking him out instantly. The referee had no choice but to disqualify Kenichi.

Renka: He really is a quick learner, and after what he did to those guys, I'm sure they will be too, and learn not to bully others.

Kenichi was kicked out of the club, but was so satisfied that he got revenge and made a name for himself, he went from "weak knees" to the new champion. However the worst was yet to come for the guy.

After Daimonji, a taekwondo specialist "Koga" comes to fight him.

Koga: You think you're so cool, Shirihama. I'm a member of "Ragronok" the toughest martial arts group around, and Daimonji was on our recruitment list as a maybe, and so was the captain. You think all those stories Niijima is saying about you will scare people away?

Kenichi: What do you mean what stories?

Koga: All that stuff about you killing 10 men, fighting off a bear, and having your own army Now, let's see how good you are against a real badass like me.

Koga's kicks were easily blocked with kung fu hand trap movements and leg blocks, but wanting to look good to his bosses, he pushed through giving Kenichi a wicked hard roundhouse kick to the ribs, then with a swift punch to the chin, Kenichi got his opponent's brain rattling and sending him fleeing.

Kenichi: Wow, I made it look easy but that guy was pretty tough. If more thugs are going to come after me from Ragnarok, I will have to train harder. We have to go back to the Ryozanpaku dojo.

Renka: Don't worry the masters will be proud to train you to be in tip-top shape.

Then a beautiful blonde woman walked in having, something to say on the subject.

Miu: Hello there, I'm Miu Furinji. You must be Kenichi Shirihama from the dojo. My Grandpa, the owner of the dojo, told me that there is a new student, and I want to see how good you'd do in a fight, and it was pretty good. I live in Ryozanpaku and I look forward to seeing you there.

Renka: Maybe later blondie, he's coming back to China with me and dad after graduation maybe before.

Kenichi: Hey, I never said that I was studying abroad. I'm staying here to make a name for myself by taking down delinquents, then maybe I will write a novel series about my tales.

Miu: Well I'd love to be a part of those stories, you seem to be a great guy.

Kenichi turned around to avoid being seen blushing, then turned back around keeping a straight face, wanting to keep it cool in front of the two pretty girls.

Suddenly, from behind the shadows Kenichi sensed a lurker, his old bully Niijima, he grabbed him and pinned Niijima against the wall.

Kenichi: What are you doing Niijima, listening in on us so you can make up more stories? Well unlike you I'm a serious author that writes real stories. If you are going to be my publicist Niijima, then you will be sure to write down every word.

Niijima: All right, let's start with chapter one "The Assemblance of the Shinpaku Alliance" , the tale of two best friends starting an army in high school.

Kenichi: I have another idea for the first chapter "Kenichi Shirahama Gets Payback" starting with the menacing alien overlord wannabe.

Kenichi started wailing on Niijima while Renka and Miu looked on cheering.
