[It took a while but knuckles managed to find finitives's base in the heart of sandtroplies. ]
Knuckles: alright finitevus, you release sonica and the master emerald and no one gets hurt.
[knuckles went inside anxiously looked around for any trap but suspiciously there was none. Did finitevus think he would come? Did he go to the wrong place? The place may have looked abandoned but knuckles knew better. Finitevus always chooses unexpected places for his base. He kept walking around for a while and what he found in the big room left him in shock. He found a big lab,there stood the master emerald with wiring connected to it. There were his forefathers in a cell and a ray gun pointing at them. Not only that but his mother, his friends, and the fire ants were there too in their cells and glass cage. Knuckles ran up to his forefathers]
Knuckles: guys!
[everyone was surprised to see knuckles]
Locke: son what are you doing here?
Knuckles: the master emerald got stolen. Before you say anything our people are safe, Remington is in charge. At the altar I found a warp ring and a blue quill so I assume finitevus took not only the master emerald but sonica too.
Archimedes: your only half right lad. But there is something you need to know about sonica. She's not who you think she is.
Knuckles[confused] what are you talking about?
??: why don't you ask her.
[knuckles turned behind him to see dr.finitevus next to the master emerald and sonica was also next to him looking guilty?]
Knuckles: finitevus, let my family,friends and sonica go!
Finitevus[smirks] oh so sorry knuckles but need your forefathers for my research. Your friends are here to be sure they don't interfere. As for the girl, she belongs to me.
Knuckles[angery] no she doesn't! [turns to sonica] sonica, go! Run!
[but all sonica did was stand there looking more guilty than before, leaving knuckles confused]
Finitevus: ahahahaha! You poor naive boy! You can't see that you've been playing with it all along!
[knuckles eyes widened while still confused]
Finitevus: allow me to explain. You see the last time you defeated me I knew I needed a different approach but have a little fun with you. So I've been experimenting to create a being that could distract you with her charms and [gestures to sonica] she was the final result. While she distract you I'll could take the Chaos Emeralds with ease.
[Knuckles couldn't believe it. Sonica is a creation and has been working for Dr.finitevus all along. He has once again played for a sap.]
Finitevus: Does this sound familiar [ puts his back hand against his forehead] (Dramatically) Oh my leg. [ normally] everything that's happened was all part of my plan.
[Knuckle's heart just got crushed. Sonica went down the stairs and walked towards until she was two feet from knuckles.]
Sonica: I'm so sorry. I didn't want you to find out like this.
Knuckles: I trusted you.
Sonica: You have every right to be mad at me but I want you to know that not everything was a lie. I really do see you as a friend.
[ knuckles looked into sonica's eyes and saw she's telling the truth]
Knuckles: if you're truly my friend then get out of here.
[Before sonica could say anything a warp ring opened under her and sonica fell through. She teleported to Dr.finitevus' side. Finitevus grabbed her wrist.]
Finitevus: she is not going anywhere.
Knuckles[ fighting stunts] yes she is!
[ knuckles ran up to finitevus to punch him but all the mad scientist did was stand there smirking. Knuckles threw his fist but it was caught by sonica. Sonica kicked him in the area and used her other hand to punch knuckles away]
Knuckles[pained] sonica why?
Sonica: I'm sorry I don't have a choice.
Knuckles: What do you mean by that?
[Soncia didn't say anything. All she did was grab knuckles and restrained him]
Finitevus: very good sonica. Put him in the chair.[ points the chair near the cells]
[ sonica did what she was told]
Knuckles: sonica don't!
Finitevus: I'm afraid it will do no good; if you haven't noticed, the bracelet she's wearing allows me to take control of her. Now she has to do what I ask whether she wants to or not.
Knuckles: [being strapped to the chair] you monster!
Finitevus[Shrugged his shoulders] so I've been called. [ faced knuckles and the brotherhood] I believe I could reveal my plan.
I've put a small hex on the master and the Chaos Emeralds and that hex I could drain your powers and transfer to another host.[ side glance with sonica] that's where sonica comes in. With your power transfer to her and the bracelet to control her. She will purge the world. Basically she will be another Enerjak!
[Dr.finitevus laughed in victory while everyone else was shocked what finitevus real plan was.
Finitevus: Now why don't we begin? Sonica.
[Sonica tried to stay where she was but her body moved on its own. She unwillingly walked to a lever on the wall. She gripped on the lever.
Spectre: sonica stop!
Lara-Le: sonica dear, don't do this!
Thunderhawk: child fight it!
The chaotix: don't sonica don't!
Sojourner: if you do this It'll be the last thing you ever do!
Archimedes: please sonica no!
[With every voice that talks to her the more she struggles for control. ]
Dr.finitevus: sonica do it!
[ sonica's hand moved a little but not enough to turn on the machine]
??: sonica!
[ Everyone stops to let knuckles speak]
Knuckles: sonica It's your life,Your choice! You could continue being afraid of finitevus or you could stand for what you believe in!
Sonica: i…i…
[ espsio looked anxiously at his boots until he found what he was looking for… a small throwing knife. Espsio took aim and threw the knife to the bracelet breaking it off sonica's wrist and at the nick of time. Finitevus saw this and he was not happy. Just then knuckles regained his strength and broke the straps of his chair. Knuckles caught Dr.finitevus off guard by running up to him and punched him right in the face, kicked him in the stomach and was about to punch him again but his fist was caught by the mad doctor. With a growl finitevus gave knuckles punch after punch. Sonica was horrified by the scene. She knew she had to do something but what. She looked around and found the Chaos Emeralds in a glass case. She becomes nervous at the thought of going against the scientist. What if...no! Sonica's done. She's done being afraid of finitevus. Being as sly as she can, she went to the Chaos Emeralds, grabbed a sack that was nearby,put the Chaos Emeralds in it and went back near the fighting. Just by the time she got back knuckles were laying on his stomach with Dr.finitevus' foot pressed on his back. Everyone was horrified for knuckles, especially Locke and Lara-Le.
Sonica: STOP!
[ the guardians, the fire ants and Knuckle's friends were looking at sonica with shock. What they saw was not a scared girl but with a look of confidence.]
Sonica: let knuckles go Dr.finitevus or else.
[finitevus looked at sonica with a stern look.]
Dr.finitevus: or else what?
Sonica: you'll lose these. [ Open the sack revealing the Chaos Emeralds]
[Finitevus's eyes widened but then started to walk slowly to sonica scowls with his sharp teeth showing.]
Finitevus[ dangerously calm] put them down sonica.
Sonica: no! I'm tired of being afraid of you. I'm tired of being lied to. I'm taking the emeralds and everyone else and I'm leaving you forever.
Finitevus[ growls] child. [ grabs sonica's quills and pulling them causing sonica to scream] I CREATED YOU!... I GAVE YOU LIFE!...I GAVE YOU A PURPOSE! WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'LL BE WITHOUT ME!
[Sonic was torn. All of those things were true. Was this really worth the risk? She looks at everyone. Archimedes was the one who tried to give her advice. The Purple chameleon was the one who freed her from the bracelet. The brotherhood of guardians was the ones who opened her eyes with the truth of who finitevus really is. Then there is knuckles. Knuckles was really kind to her. He took a complete stranger into his care.]
Sonica: free…I'd be free.
[ sonica kicked finitevus in the legs and quickly took one of his warp rings and went in]
Finitevus[ growls] big mistake [ dis the same]
[ Knuckles saw what happened and was proud of sonica for her bravery. But sonica is in trouble. Knuckles quickly reached in his dreadlocks and pulled out his warp ring,opened it and went in leaving everyone else anxious for them. Sonica was hiding behind a couple of rocks while finitevus was not too far away searching for her. Soncia didn't know what to do. Suddenly a hand touched her shoulder. She gasped and turned around to see knuckles. Sonic sighed in relief.
Sonica[smiles knuckles, you're okay.
Knuckles: [smiles back stroking her cheek] don't worry I'm okay. I won't let finitevus hurt you.
Sonica: we can't out run him, he has too many warp rings to catch up to us.
Knuckles: I'm going after him. I'll be back for you later.
Soncia: [ confused] what do you mean?
[ without warning knuckles opened his warp ring back to the lab and pushed her in. Sonic saw that she was back into the lab]
Sonic: knuckles no don't do it!
[ but it was too late, the warp ring was already closed.]
Mighty: soncia, where's knuckles?
Sonica: He's dealing with Dr.finitevus alone!
Saber: Is he insane?!
[ soncia hurried to the fire ants cage and opened it]
Sonica: Archimedes please help him!
Archimedes: of course.
[Archimedes teleported.]
[Sonica looked anxiously around finitevus's table until she found the keys to the cells. Sonica raced to the cells and unlocked them.]
Sojourner: finally we're out of here.
Espio: even if we do get out of here, there is a chance that finitevus could find a way to continue this plan.
Saber: we need to end his plans once and for all.
Vector: but how?
??: I know
[ everyone turned to see sonica next to the lever that starts the power draining machine.]
Sonica: according to Dr.finitevus I was created by the power of the Chaos and emerald. If I give all my energy back to the emeralds it could overwhelm the emeralds.
Charmy: But if you give away all your energy won't you…
Sonica: die. Yes I will.
[ That surprised everyone. Sonica's going to sacrifice herself?]
Lara-Le: dear please don't. You have much to live for.
Sonica: no I don't. My whole life has just been a lie. Plus I need to do this. This is all my fault. I need to make this right.
[ Sonic opened a warp ring to the outside.]
Sonica: go! Get out of here!
[Everyone was hesitant]
Soncia: go!
[ Knowing there was a way to change Sonica's mind everyone left but Locke, who was the last one to leave.]
Sonica: Locke, Wait.
[Locke stopped and turned to Sonica]
Sonica[start to tear up] if knuckles comes here and tries to come in; hold him back. I don't want him to get hurt. [Locke nodded] and told knuckles that I'm sorry for everything.
Locke: I will sonica[ with that Locke went through the ring and the ring closed.]
[Soncia put her hand on the lever and pulled it and ran in front of the ray. Suddenly a ray of energy from the machine zapped sonica and started to drain her energy causing sonica to scream. Meanwhile outside the former captives ran to a safe distance. Just then a warp ring opened and knuckles came out.]
Knuckles[ sees his family and friends] you guys got out [ looks for sonica but couldn't find her] where's sonica?
[Suddenly there were loud sounds of bricks falling apart. Everyone turned to see the pyramid was falling apart. Knuckles turned to his friends and relatives and back to the pyramid and realized where sonica could be. Knuckles tried to run back to the pyramid but was held back by Locke. Just in an instant the whole pyramid came crashing down leaving a pile of rubble and smoke.]
[ moments earlier sonica was still in pain from the drain. A warp ring opened what came through was finitevus. He looked around and saw that his base was crumbling down and sonica was the source of it.]
Finitevus: So you were able to stop my plans. You may think you defeated me but I will return someday and you will know who's side you should be on.
[ With that finitevus opened his warp ring and walked in leaving sonica. The pyramid couldn't stand anymore and crumbled completely down. The last thing soncia saw was pitch of black.]
[Back outside knuckles saw what happened and was in shock. He snapped out of it and started to dig through the rubble. The Chaotix looked at knuckles with disbelief but they started to help followed by the brotherhood.]
Saber: Here I found her.
[ Saber carefully lifted sonica out of the rubble but she was unconscious. Knuckles walked up to his grandfather and carefully took sonica from him. Knuckles tried to wake her up but she didn't.
Thunderhawk[ checked her pulse] ( remorseful) I'm sorry she's gone.
[ That really shocked everyone. Knuckles couldn't believe it. Sonica's gone?]
Knuckles[tearing up] Gone as in…?
[ thunderhawk nodded knowing what knuckles was saying. That did it. Knuckles broke down in tears. Trying to deny that his friend was really gone. Everyone else was just in silence. Lara-Le cried softly while unknowingly hugged Locke who tried to convert her.]
Knuckles[sobbing] why…why would she do this?
Specter[ apologetic] it's because she was sorry. She felt like this entire event was her fault. She felt like she had no reason to live.
[ knuckles was even more sad hearing what his seventh father said. No matter what could do he couldn't stop crying. His mother and father had to help him walk….to go home]
