While Jack and Tony watch her, Melanie calls her parents. They believe Aslan might have tapped their phones in his obsession with murdering her. Eric Carter and his team are on their way, but Jack fears that their presence could frighten Aslan away. Whether Alqueda has anything else planned for today, at the very least they want him arrested for his crimes.

Melanie: Mom?
Mother: Melanie, is that you?
Melanie: Yeah, it's me.
Mother: Are you okay, where are you?
Melanie: I'm okay I guess. I'm at the Motel 6, I'm going to turn myself in.
Mother: I've talked to a lawyer, she can help you.
Melanie: There's something else. I have a baby, you have a granddaughter. Will you take care of her?
Mother: Ofcourse I will, if you are incarcerated.
Melanie: I don't think that's really a question anymore. Whatever happens, I love you.
Mother: I love you too Melanie.

At his home Mike begins to leave. His father speaks with him.

Dad: Where are you going?
Mike: Just to hang out with some friends.
Dad: Well don't spend too much money. You have responsibilities now.
Mike: Yeah, I know.
Dad: And you're not hanging out with that too bit fascist are you?
Mike: I like Rudy, he's not so bad.
Dad: Anyone who waves the swastika needs serious mental help, and I don't want those kind of people around my grandchild.
Mike: Duly noted.

Vice-president Keaton is still speaking with his old friend Dave. Apparently Dave is not as loyal as Keaton once thought.

Keaton: I thought we were friends.
Dave: I thought so too, until you hung me out to dry.
Keaton: What was I suppossed to do, the vice-president doesn't have the authority to pardon anyone. Do you think I can just order the president to pardon your crimes?
Dave: I didn't want it to come to this, but I'm desperate.
Keaton: You shouldn't have broken the law, you knew the risks.
Dave: And you knew the risks when you asked me to speak with Lyle Gibson.
Keaton: I never asked you to kill him.
Dave: Still, I'm not a lawyer, maybe this doesn't reach the legal definition of felony murder. But, given your position, I can imagine congressional hearings, investigations. Maybe you won't be charged with anything. But your legacy, your ability to help the president to govern, that will be forever tarnished. I think the president could be persuaded to grant me a pardon to avoid it.
Keaton: Whatever happens I want you to know one thing.
Dave: What's that?
Keaton: You have forever lost my friendship and my respect.

Rick and Kyle go towards Illiyeen's home. They are understandably nervous, this is Taliban territory. Illiyeen's uncle is Taliban, and her father is at the very least friendly with the Taliban. Rick is surprised that Illiyeen's family didn't perform an honor killing on her for having a child out of wedlock with an american.

Aslan watches president Allen's speech. She continues to try and reassure her people that those responsible will be brought to justice. Aslan hears that the latest kill count was 45, and will likely rise even after Aslan has martyred himself. Aslan then checks his phone, and he sees an alert. Melanie's parents have received a call. He listens to his bug, and it is indeed Melanie. She even gives her location, the Motel 6. Aslan will make certain that this whore dies for how she disgraced him. And his child will someday continue his fight long after he reaches Paradise.
