"Ok…Curly…" Dr. Bliss began slowly. "I'll be the first to admit that having an ex go on to court and eventually marry their sibling is…a completely awkward dynamic. But, it's not like such an occurrence is uncommon let alone the sign of some grand conspiracy against the truth. Sometimes relationships fail and for whatever reason and-"
"-and in a normal family, Wanda and Monica would have worked to cut through the awkward and maybe even laugh about it all someday." Curly said. "And as you can see from me being here, my family is clearly some stalwart bastion of normality, right?"
"Point taken." She thought to herself.
"Wanda and Monica were twins. And in some level of fear over feeling outnumbered three to one by the women in his household, Grandpa looked for ways to pit them against each other, this became especially easy as their personalities came in; mom being some vaguely sentient wallflower while Aunt Wanda was more animated, more expressive, and headstrong, more like-"
"Like you?" Dr. Bliss asked.
"Yeah." Curly said. "And because of that, Grandpa always went out of his way to spoil her at the expense of Mom."
"And like any spoiled child, she expected the universe to pick up where daddy left off upon adulthood?"
"You didn't get that degree for nothing, didn't ya doc?" Curly replied giving her a finger-gun gesture and a sly smile. "But the realization that comes with such expectations being subjected to life's wrecking ball…it can be pretty damn ugly!"
AN: Yeah, this chapter was short. I've got a bit on my plate now and haven't had the time to write as often as I'd like.
