Mike makes his way to a seat in the movie theatre. Bianca sees him and tries not to make eye contact. Their last conversation hadn't gone well, and she hopes to let things cool down. Mike however tries to sit in the seat behind her, but it is already occupied. The other occupant is a retired police officer named Benny, here with his grandchildren.
.
Benny: This is my seat sir.
Mike: Are you sure?
Benny: Yeah, here's my ticket.
Mike: Whatever old man.
.
Mike goes away, to sit elsewhere. Benny wonders, why was this angry young man so upset about where he could sit? Mike also seems to be sweating, it was an early summer night, but would he be sweating in an air conditioned theatre? Maybe not, unless be was nervous. Benny starts to think he should keep an eye on Mike.

In the Oval Office president Allen is discussing the recent attack in Kabul. Soon she will be addressing the nation, but they need to be ready for anything.
.
Allen: Do you think Hekmetyar knew about this attack before today?
Gardner: Yes. I believe he manipulated his rival Razi into thinking that he would hold the Afghan army at bay to allow them to escape. The whole affair was to eliminate his rival. And if the Afghan army was weakened, then they will be more dependant upon his Taliban forces.
Keaton: I disagree. Hekmetyar knows suspicion would fall on him and I doubt he would risk it. That said he will take advantage of the situation.
Allen: I guess we will just have to keep looking for evidence. But for now, I need to address the nation.
.
Jim Gardner and vice-president Keaton left as the cameras began the live broadcast.

The president begins her address.
.
Allen: My fellow Americans. Less than one hour ago a rogue element attacked our embassy in Kabul. Although these terrorists have all been killed or captured, victory came at a high price. At least 30 Americans are dead, their families are being informed of this as we speak. If the terrorists believed they could do this with impunity, they were mistaken. They might have thought we would not retaliate, or that they could kill Afghan civilians, they were wrong. I pledge to you that we will find anyone else responsible, and they will not escape justice.
.
Among those listening to the president's speech was Rudy. He laughed that she thought she could punish those responsible. Soon Rudy and his white nationalist friends will bring much more death and destruction to this country.
