Note: The conversation between Hekmetyar and Vaachaspati, and the meeting, are in Pashto. Just pretend you're reading the english subtitles.

Pat and Heather continue to drive away. By now they fear that Rudy and the others are looking for them.
.
Heather: Thank you again.
Pat: No white woman deserves to be raped by those foreign perverts. Are you still commited to the cause?
Heather: Yeah, I'm still wiling to die.
Pat: This is God's will, those fools we work with, they think they're in control. Schools weren't a bad target, especially considering how they've tried to kick out God. But I have a better target in mind, and if time is limited we can do it soon.
Heather: I'm listening.

President Allen is working late in the Oval Office when she receives a call from Ashan Benedict, chief of police for Washington D.C.
.
Ashan: I'm sorry to disturb you madam president.
Allen: What can I do for you chief Benedict?
Ashan: About 20 minutes ago a young woman was found dead in her home. The neighbors said they heard her arguing with a young man shortly before she died. These neighbors are certain that the young man fit the description of your son. As you know I have a duty to perform, and noone's above the law.
Allen: I understand. Thank you for letting me know.

Hekmetyar arrives for the meeting with his old friends. Vaachaspati goes to him first. Kyle Singer is listening from a safe distance.
.
Hekmetyar: My friend, what are you doing here?
Vaachaspati: One of the american soldiers threatened me. He thinks I was involved in the attack on their embassy.
Hekmetyar: Were you?
Vaachaspati: Ofcourse not. The Koran strictly prohibits the killing of innocents, you know this as well as I do.
Hekmetyar: I am sorry, the americans are just angry.
Vaachaspati: I am scared. Will you protect me?
Hekmetyar: Ofcourse, come inside.
.
Hekmetyar; Thank you all for coming. As you all know the American embassy was attacked less than four hours ago. We need to be ready if they try any acts of vengeance. That said, I also need to know if any of you were involved in the attack.
Obaidullah: Why? So you can sell us out to the imperialistic crusaders?
Hekmetyar: My loyalty has always been to our people. Sometimes that means waging war on our enemies. Sometimes that means diplomacy. I saw that we could not defeat the americans by force, but neither could they defeat us. I want our land to finally know peace. But you all know me, some of us go back decades. I am willing to protect you from our enemies but I need you to be honest with me.
.
Kyle Singer listens to this. He wonders, neither side seems to really trust Hekmetyar. Even if he is serious about peace, in the end he might find it easier to side with the men in this room than with America.

President Allen and her husband go to see their son Horace.
.
Rod: Did you go to see Karen?
Horace: Yes, I wanted to be a man and help her. But she got angry, told me to leave.
Allen: Was she alive when you left?
Horace: Ofcourse she was. Why?
Allen: Because she's dead.
Horace: What? How?
Rod: They think it might have been suicide.
Horace: Yeah, maybe. She was scared about being exposed.
Allen: Did she ever talk about guns with you?
Horace: Yeah, she was a supporter of gun control, even went to a few rallies.
Rod: Then she never fired a gun before?
Horace: No, she'd never touch a gun.
Allen: The police have a few questions for you, and I want you to be honest with them.
Horace: Ofcourse. If someone killed Karen, I want them brought to justice.
