The thing about Skye

She has scars

Everyone has caught glimpses of Daisy's scars. It's inevitable when living in such close quarters with several people, and when changing in the locker room before missions.

Everyone has scars, though, and Daisy has been on the team since before the original SHIELD fell. She has two star burst scars on her abdomen, and a small line just above her right eyebrow, and what looks like claw marks across her shoulder blades.

But she has scars much older than she's been in SHIELD. She has scars that are pale white and long faded, but won't ever truly go away.

Jemma has seen the raised white scars on Daisy's arms, dozens and dozens of them all in neat little rows all the way up to her elbows. Jemma was bound to see them when treating Daisy's arms that are so often hurt by her own powers.

It's a telling history, a worrying one, but they are old and Daisy dodges Jemma's cautious prodding and she's fine now, so Jemma leaves it be.

Jemma Simmons, somehow, has become the team's main doctor for life threatening and non-life-threatening injuries alike, so of course she's seen the other scars, too. The ones she knows are impossible to self-inflict, and knows Daisy never got on mission (she has treated all of Daisy's after-mission injuries).

These scars are old and faded, many older than the ones on Daisy's arms, and Jemma has seen x-rays of Daisy's bones and knows she's broken nearly half of them at one point or another in childhood. Some of them several times.

And Jemma knows what all of this is indicative of, and Daisy knows she knows, but neither of them say anything. Daisy doesn't like to talk about her past (other than short, sarcastic, references or remarks) and only runs away when someone tries to bring it up in serious conversation.

A/N: Sorry for the darkness of the last chapter. That will be the most graphic out of these oneshots. Please review?
