Chapter 5 – Inferno

Mechanic, Crescent Rose

The red MG-250 dodged another volley of fireballs while returning fire with its gun.

While not out of range, the Crimson Rockbird was proving to be a little too quick to hit. She had managed to get a few grazing shots in here and there but as a whole, she wasn't able to do much damage.

It was flying too high for her to use the Lightning Flail or her Vibration Knife and the energy shield was too MP intensive to be practical.

However, her biggest problem came when she continually hit trees and large roots trying to evade. Despite some partially melted parts, most of the damage, by which she meant the growingly dented and broken frame, had come from her trying to dodge, hitting something, and wasting MP in the process.

This was the result of two main problems. First, Wotan's skill Master the Swaying Weapon, granted her something like the Piloting skill for Pilots as it allowed her to pilot the Magingear since it was a weapon after all. however, since Master the Swaying Weapon was only at level 1, it meant her skill at piloting the Magingear was only at level 1.

Another way to put it was like taking a rookie pilot who just learned how to fly and tossing him into an aerial dogfight for his life.

As she tried to dodge another attack, the wheel on her left heel hit a large rock and snapped off, drastically lowering her mobility.

That was her second problem.

Her third problem was the MG-250 itself. According to Doc Cricket, the MG-250 was originally designed for modulation, plug n' play, equipment. This meant it was structurally weaker than normal models as well as not being MP efficient due to the lines that transferred MP throughout the Magingear. Unlike real-world electric current which didn't flow if a circuit wasn't complete, MP had a small, but noticeable, power leakage when connected to a line- such as a line leading to equipment not installed.

They tried closing these lines with programming or switches, but the end result was always a noticeable leakage in MP.

As it stood, she could only use her gun because it used traditional rounds that didn't require MP. But those were proving too slow.

The Rockbird dived, breathing fire in thick streams forcing Crescent to dodge again as more of the forest went up in flames.

Which led to her fourth problem: the forest was on FIRE!

The MG-250 had the option of air filtration systems or even an air tank because apparently, the people at the Clock Tower wanted to explore everything from the sea to the stars. Also, in case they ever encountered a Superior known as the Endless Miasma.

But there was just one more problem.

She didn't have either!

Five Problems!

It was already getting hard to breathe.

How could this get worse?

[Hypoxia]

She looked at her Window as a new notification popped up. Even though it was only for an instant she stared at the debuff with a not small amount of anger.

Really game? Really? Why is THAT a debuff?

SIX PROBLEMS!

'Master dodge!' Wotan mentally warned, causing Crescent to jerk her controls to avoid another flaming barrage. Hitting several thick trees and rebounding against them in a stumbling fall with her landing on her back.

…seven problems…uuh.

As she looked up, she could swear she saw the bird smirk. It was laughing at her!

She didn't know why, but she suddenly had a strong desire for a giant roasted turkey all of a sudden.

Confident in its victory, the Crimson Rockbird began to lower itself, ready to burn its prey alive.

Crescent looked at one of her monitors, one shot left in her gun. Nowhere near enough to finish it.

She didn't want this to be how she got her first death penalty. She didn't want her weekend ruined by a 24-hour logout ban, which she still saw as a horrible penalty.

And then an idea entered her mind and she smiled.

"Runic Script!" she shouted as the Rockbird went in for the kill. Wotan's energy cape coalesced around her gun, wrapping it in runes.

The force of the bullet exiting the gun shattered the pistol and badly damaged the MG-250's hand.

Despite her last-ditch effort, the Crimson Rockbird had managed to twist its body at just such an angle that the shot only blew out a large chunk of its left wing, dropping it to the ground in a large fiery clump in a huge blast of flames and dirt.

That had used the last of her MP to fire, but at least it was over. She sighed in relief. She took out one of her antidotes, but apparently [Hypoxia] wasn't a type of poison…go figure.

She at the very least needed to get out of here soon or she might get the death penalty.

Of course, she would need to put the MG-250 into her inventory and repair it later. Sighing again, she opened the hatch, maybe she could grab the drop items before she left…

…she looked at her window…her EXP hadn't increased a point and the body of the Rockbird was still there…

…Oh crap!

As if waiting for that exact moment, the bird burst forward as Crescent stumbled to try and get back into the cockpit.

The lumbering bird slammed into the MG-250, flinging Crescent from her mech only to be caught mid-air by Wotan in her normal form "I've got you Master!" she shouted, using her body to absorb the impact as they crashed into a large tree with a "GAAHHH!".

/-/

Maiden of Metal Runic Script, Wotan

When she had seen her Master being knocked from the MG-250, she had leaped to protect her. There was no thought to it. She was her Embryo, it was what she existed to do and what she chose to do.

Not a moment after catching Crescent, Wotan felt her ribs creak as her left shoulder gave a sickening pop.

Looking at her Master's status, Crescent had suffered a broken rib, and [Fainting], but other than that, her HP was sitting at roughly 20%.

The Dragonscale Ward had reduced the impact, but the momentum and force of the blow was what had injured her. Despite Wotan's efforts to cushion the blow as much as possible.

However, a sound like a caw mixed with a snarl had her attention drawn elsewhere.

Wolf/raven maiden found herself staring at the injured but also enraged grounded bird monster. It was at that moment she regretted all of her Resources had gone into skills that assisted her Master and none she could use by herself.

Sure, her personal stats were higher than Crescent, but that didn't say much. As much as she cared for her Master, even she would admit that if not for her level, a small child could probably overpower her.

She needed to think of something to get out of this situation, despite how much she teased her Master, and how much Crescent annoyed her for the AUDACITY to suggest she wear anything other than her wolf/raven suit, Wotan would always look out for Master.

The part of the forest they had been flung into wasn't yet on fire. The main problem with the [Hypoxia] debuff was a lack of oxygen, her Master might still survive if left alone in a place she could breathe.

Wotan knew she wouldn't die, not like a tian. She would just repair herself and reappear in a few days. Knowing that was enough to steel her resolve, her Master might be sad, but she would rather Crescent not have the death penalty because of this oversized turkey.

Gently setting her Master against the tree, she took only a moment to brush a strand of hair out of Crescent's face. It was an unnecessary gesture, yet she could help herself.

"Be well Master," she said softly picking up a rock from nearby.

Running towards the flaming side of the forest she threw the rock at the creature's head, hitting it dead in the eye, before yelling at the top of her lungs as she, "Come and get me you stupid chicken!"

/-/

Mechanic Crescent Rose

When she finally awoke, she immediately jumped up, looking around frantically. She was in a section of forest separated from the rest by a large patch of rocks that acted as a natural barrier to the fire, though she could still feel the fire's heat.

Then she remembered the monster she had been facing.

Quickly looking around she couldn't find the monster.

Had it given up after being injured?

No, she clearly remembered it charging her.

Did it think it had killed her?

Java had mentioned some monsters were intelligent. They might know Masters simply disappeared into particles of light.

That was possible, but a sudden realization had her stomach starting to twist into a knot. Where was Wotan?

"Wotan?" she called out.

Other than the sound of the raging fire, she couldn't hear a single thing.

"WOTAN? WOTAN? WOTAN?" she called out again and again, running along the edge of the fire.

While she was technically connected, in a way that was never really explained, to her Embryo, it didn't mean she could sense her or anything. Wotan was capable of independent actions such as walking off on her own.

"AAAAAHHHH!" a cry echoed through the woods that drowned out the flames and plunged an icy dagger into Crescent's heart. Not even thinking, she dashed towards the sound. There was only one possible source. One possible person whose voice she knew in an instant.

Reaching into one of the inventories in her suit, she drew out the scythe she had from her starting equipment. She knew it wasn't much, but her MP was still at 0, and she couldn't just abandon Wotan. Not now, not ever!

Skidding to a halt, Crescent gasped in horror at what she saw.

Wotan was leaning against a small hill, her suit torn in places as blood stained her visible pale skin. Her face was caked in sweat, dirt, and blood; her only visible eye was partially closed due to a stream of blood flowing down that side of her face from a large gash on her forehead.

"WOTAN!" Crescent screamed charging in, scythe drawn, without thought she slashed at the monster, catching it by surprise as her blade cut across its left eye.

The monster screeched in horror, as Crescent dashed towards Wotan, trying to juggle her and the scythe before struggling to lift and carry her up the hill.

"Master, you need to run. I'll be-"

"Don't EVER finish that fucking sentence!" Crescent cursed nearly stumbling while running up the hill as the monster refocused on them. "You are my Embryo, you're a part of me and I won't let ANYONE hurt you!"

Wotan was not only surprised by her Master cursing but also by her words in general. However, before she could say anything, Crescent tripped on a rock and the pair were knocked down by the impact of the force of the monster pursuing them. If not for her tripping, the pair would have been at the exact center of impact and certainly been given the death penalty.

Seeing nowhere to run, Crescent sat Wotan down and raised her scythe. She knew she couldn't win, but as Yang once said, sometimes it's better to go down swinging even if you know you'll lose.

She hadn't felt that way before, but at that moment, in this instant, she understood it wholeheartedly. Even if she couldn't beat this monster, even if it was going to give her the death penalty, she was going. To. Make. It. PAY!

Suddenly, Crescent felt Wotan wrap herself around her at first as a hug around the neck, and then…it was as if her Embryo was wrapping around her. Only when she noticed she was wearing Wotan's energy cape did she understand what had happened.

"I don't dislike the idea of giving this overfed tweety bird something to complain about. So, let's do it Master, let's give it everything we've got. Together." She added softly and Crescent felt her heart swell. She truly had gotten the best Embryo she could have asked for.

"Yeah."

""Runic Script!"" the two intoned as one as the scythe was covered in runes and its damage potential increased.

Unlike before, Crescent felt a vague idea of how to use the weapon now. Unlike before she had Wotan and her skill Master the Swaying Weapon. It might have been low-level, but she could fight now. And that was all she needed.

The two stared each other down as the surrounding fire continued to grow, a wounded one-eyed flightless bird of fire and rage set against a young scythe wielder in a red cape.

As if given some unknown signal, the two charged at the same time.

As the two drew closer and time seemed to slow for Crescent. At that moment, in that brief instant of time, she heard Wotan speak a new skill, "Master the Weapon's Flow!"

The world had slowed down considerably more as the monster continued its charge. It was by now means like in the movies where it was moving at the speed of molasses in a blizzard but it was like it had gone from a semi coming at her at 60 mph to more like her dad slowing his punches down when he tried teaching her and Yang to box.

She could see it clear as day when the Crimson Rockbird raised its beak to try and pierce her only to have its sole remaining eye widen in surprise as she twirled around the strike and landed a critical hit to its throat as Runic Script worked its magic and cleaved the creatures head from its shoulders as the scythe in her hands disintegrated while Crescent's hands themselves were shredded as though she had tried holding onto the blade of a running chainsaw.

But that didn't matter to Crescent. No, she- no THEY- had won. They had overcome odds they shouldn't have been able to.

She felt so excited, she felt like she could pass out…

"MASTER!" she heard Wotan cry as the darkness took her.

/-/

Blearily, she began opening her eyes.

The first thing she noticed was that she was looking at the ceiling of what she assumed was a wooden cabin.

"Master!" Crescent went to turn her head but was immediately grabbed into a tight, but not painful, hug by Wotan. She just relaxed not the soft fur and ignored what was probably the sound of plates or bowls hitting the ground and shattering the instant after.

She just remained there for the moment, hugging Wotan back only to feel something cold on her cheek.

For a moment, she thought it was Wotan crying, but meeting the green eyes of a small dull red colored lizard hugging the side of her head removed the thought.

…wait, a lizard?

Somewhat reluctantly removing herself from the embrace, Crescent noticed a lizard was standing on Wotan's shoulder. It was just roughly big enough to fit in both her hands while resting length-wise and had brown spits on its back and a pinkish underbelly.

Looking at her Embryo, there was a bandage on her head and her suit was somehow mended, "Who's your friend?" Crescent asked, giving the adorable creature a single finger scratch on the head. Which it seemed to enjoy.

"This is Sal." She said gesturing to the creature on her shoulder, "Are you sure you're okay? How are your hands?" she asked, causing Crescent to take notice of her own hands for the first time as she brought them up to look at them.

There wasn't even a scratch on them. She could have sworn they were reduced to bloody tatters, but now they were as good as new.

"Wotan, did you…?" she trailed off still looking at her hands.

"No, it was Tinker, well Kelly AND Tinker." She replied, taking her into another hug. This time getting onto the bed and shifting herself, so she was hugging her from behind with her back against the wall and Crescent in front wrapped in the fuzzy arms of her Embryo.

"You scared me there Master," Wotan said softly with only the faintest tremble to her voice.

Crescent placed her hands over Wotan's as she was held from behind, "You scared me there Wotan." She replied just as softly.

"I guess we're a lot more alike than I thought." She said trying to make it sound dry, but rather, she sounded like she was going to cry.

Turning around, Crescent took Wotan into a hug this time and the two cried.

She knew it was supposed to be a game, but the fear of the creature charging at her, the terror and rage she felt seeing Wotan hurt, the overwhelming relief that they had somehow survived it all. it just came pouring out of the two.

/-/

After the two had cried themselves tired, a man walked in. he had a thick five o'clock shadow and bags under his eyes under a mop of unkempt brown hair. He was dressed in a lab coat but was wearing sweatpants and bunny slippers on his feet.

"Feeling better?" he asked before taking a broom and dustpan out of his inventory and cleaning up the remains of the dishes Wotan had dropped.

"Yeah"

"Sorry about that Tinker." Wotan apologized, averting her eye in embarrassment.

"It's fine. It's fine. Given how upset you were when she wasn't waking up, I am not surprised nor mad at the situation."

"U-um, were you the one who healed me?" Crescent asked, bringing Wotan into a sideways hug to comfort her.

"Yes well no, I'm just the one who carried you here it was Kelly who healed you. But don't think too much of it. We're in the same clan anyways."

""Wait, what?"" Wotan and Crescent asked simultaneously resulting in a smirk from Tinker at how in sync they were.

"Oh, I guess I didn't fully introduce myself. I am Tinker Sub Owner, that is to say second in command, of the Clock Tower. A pleasure to meet you." He said formally.

"A-a-a pleasure to. Did Doc Cricket send you to save us?"

The man seemed surprised for a moment before realizing the implications, "Oh, no, no." he said shaking his head. "You see my Embryo", he gestured to the lizard still on Wotan's shoulder, "Salamander excels at extinguishing fires, so whenever a fire breaks out, I'm typically the one the request to put it out."

"It's a very helpful ability when your inventions have a habit of blowing up or my own cooking." He said awkwardly, trying to make a joke.

Rather than address the dad joke, he did help save her after all, Crescent asked something else, "Wait, I thought Salamanders started fires?"

The man chuckled in a way that said this was not the first time someone had asked him that question, "I think it comes from Pliny the Elder's writings where he said 'A salamander is so cold that it puts out fire on contact'. (1) Or something like that."

"Is this one of those situations where an Embryo is themed after one of the more obscure legends or works of fiction then?"

"I would say so. Yes."

"Wait, what about the MG-250?" Crescent asked clearly not wanting to just leave it out in the middle of a monster-infested forest.

"It's fine. I've been doing some repair work on it while you were asleep."

"Huu" she deflated in relief.

"You should watch yourself. We may be able to turn our sense of pain off, but emotional stress can still get you."

"Tell me about it." She sighed slumping against the wall while still on the bed. still holding Wotan close while Wotan herself was now cradling Salamander, or 'Sal' as she called him, like a baby.

"Still", Tinker continued after a moment of silence, "I find it rather odd to find a Crimson Rockbird, even if only a juvenile, this far south. They usually hold up the Harsh Winter Mountains to the north.

"That thing was a baby?"

"Not a baby, but it was young. From what your Embryo described, I'd estimate it was less than ten years old."

"Speaking of which", he said taking a dull red Treasure Coffer out of his inventory, "I believe this belongs to you."

This time, rather than break it open, Crescent used the item's function to open it.

Acquired Rockbird Feathered Necklace

Acquired 1 Liter Crimson Rockbird Saliva

Not as good a haul as last time, but she was just glad how it all ended. Strangely, unlike before, she could see more than the name of the item.

Rockbird Feathered Necklace

It was a necklace with three red feathers on it bound with a black cord. According to Tinker, who had the Appraiser job, it had three skills.

Feathers of the Crimson Chick, an active equipment skill that allows the user to crush one of the feathers to summon a Crimson Chick for 1 hour. After the 1 hour or the user undoes the summon, there is a 10% chance the feather will not respawn. When all three feathers are gone, the item will lose all skills. Flame Resistance Level 2 which was a passive skill that reduces the effect of the flame attribute by 10%, and SP Increase Level 2 another Passive skill that increases the user's SP by 10%.

Then there was the…saliva

"Um, Tinker, do you know what a Crimson Rockbird Saliva is used for?"

The man seemed unsure for a moment before he began tapping his chin.

"Hmmm, I think it's primarily used by Alchemist and Sorcerers for either potions or cursed items. Though I did once hear that there is an Outer Mistral dish called birds nest soup made from the saliva of cave-dwelling birds." (2)

"I think Crimson Rockbirds are cave dwellers." He added rather absentmindedly.

""We're selling that as soon as we can."" Crescent and Wotan said in unison causing the two to turn towards one another in surprise.

Salamander also turned towards Crescent, but that was more for a gag than genuine shock.

"Well, while you contemplate who to sell that to, how about some dinner, you must be pretty hungry." He said causing Crescent's and Wotan's stomachs to growl in unison.

/-/

Crescent took a spoonful of the hot soup and Wotan, still holding Salamander in one arm, took a spoonful of her own.

"Wotan, I've been meaning to ask this, but why do you only eat after I do?"

"This is merely my maidenly eating habit. All Maiden Embryos have them." She replied nonchalantly as though it was of no real importance.

"' Maidenly eating habit'?"

This time Tinker chimed in, "I've heard about that, apparently all Type Maidens have some type of unique eating habit. Such as eating large quantities, only eating white foods, or needing to be fed by someone else." (3)

"There's a guy in the Kingdom of Altar, the country directly south of Dryfe, who has a Type Maiden that only eats things she steals from her Master."

That caught her off guard if she was being honest, "I was already certain, but now I'm more certain that I really have the best Embryo for me."

"Aw Master, flattery will get you everywhere." She blushed.

Note to self: Wotan is weak to compliments. Abuse maliciously.

'Nice try Master. While I do love compliments, that still won't stop me.' Wotan thought smugly within the bond they shared.

"Still, what kind of masochist weirdo has his Embryo steal his food?"

/-/

Nex Plains, Kingdom of Altar

"Achoo!" a well-built man with a long blonde warrior's wolf tail, dressed in shiny grey metal armor sneezed before a Goblin (which, despite the name, was actually the size of a large human) slammed him across the face with a wooden club, knocking him from his mount.

As the creature drew back, ready to crush the skull of its enemy, the horse made of yellow flames, kicked the Goblin square in the head killing it.

From its flame-accented bridal connected saddle came the voice of a young woman, "Stupid Master, give me a reason I shouldn't trample you if you keep getting distracted. So help me, if you are getting sick on me, I swear I will scorch you to ash." She emphasized the last point by slamming her burning back hooves into the face of an oncoming Goblin. Killing it instantly.

"I just got a chill. That's all."

"Well, you better give me a deep and thorough cleaning after this is over. It's not like I like being a saddle you know."

"I understand." He sighed tiredly and completely missed the meaning behind her words.

"You're buying me three new dresses." She said not in a question, but a demand that she knew would be met.

"Phaethon, what did I do?"

"Four dresses and if you ask again, I'll make it ten!" she threatened.

Arc Ray just sighed; he wondered if anyone has as troubling an Embryo as him.

/-/

Dunkennel Woods, Dryfe Imperium

"Hey, Tinker?"

"Yes, Crescent?"

"Wotan said you and someone called Kelly helped me."

"Yes, we did."

"Is Kelly like a nickname for your Embryo or something?"

"Oh no, Kelly Hawks is a support member of our guild. She is both an Enchanter and a Priest, so she was able to heal you better than I could before reporting back to the clan about what had happened. In fact, I only helped carry you here, bandage up Wotan, and start repairing the MG-250."

"Still thank you."

It was Wotan's turn to ask a question. "But wait, aren't Enchanter and Priest magic support jobs, why is she in a crafting guild?"

Tinker just chuckled, "You remind me of my daughter, the way you question everything."

He then quickly added, "I am not chiding you, I genuinely like it when young people question things, it helps them learn. Even if they end up drifting away from you a little due to the divorce."

"Oh…" Crescent replied trying, and failing, to not feel awkward.

"As for why we have a support magic user in a crafting guild focused on robots, it is because magic exists in this world, and it is possible to build spells into items. Our clan owner is a rather inventive man and tends to see possibilities wherever he goes. One day, or at least so he claims, he was walking down the street in that ridiculous whale costume he's so fond of, and had a thought that if a Magingear could buff the user then it would be able to allow for higher levels of functionality by the machine itself temporarily increasing the user's DEX which is the key stat for handling machinery."

"And that isn't even saying anything about the obvious benefits of healing items that aren't consumable."

Crescent could definitely see the benefits, if a machine could make anyone who uses it immediately better at using it the second they started using it, even temporarily, it would be a massive boon in real life.

"Since it is so late, do you two want to spend the night? I've put your MG-250 in the Garage on the counter, he gestured to the counter behind him."

Looking out a nearby window, Crescent noticed for the first time, that it was dark out. Not a speck of light that wasn't a star could be seen.

"What do you want to do Wotan." She asked turning to see her Embryo feeding a chunk of her bread to Salamander.

"I think we could use a good night's rest after what happened today and your MP hasn't fully recovered enough to get back to Dryfe, right?"

Opening her Window, Crescent noticed she was now level 40, but her MP was still below 50. It was an hour's drive back. She simply didn't have the MP to make it back without walking.

"I guess we're staying the night."

"Good, I'll take the couch, you two can have the master bedroom." he said, "And tomorrow, I'll give you a tour of the clan house."

/-/

Crescent was lying in bed, next to a white outfitted Wotan, who was still cuddling Salamander for some reason. Strangely, the little guy didn't seem to mind all that much.

"Hey, Wotan." She asked after several moments of silence while looking up at the ceiling.

"Yes, Master?"

"During the fight today…" she began feeling Wotan shiver slightly before grabbing her hand to comfort her Embryo.

"I heard you say a new skill, what was it?" she asked feeling too tired to open her window, but not too tired to sleep.

" The skill is called Master the Weapon's Flow. I got it for my second form. By paying SP you can convert it into STR, AGI, or DEX. Though the exchange rate is 10 SP to increase a single stat by 1, so it is not very efficient."

"Then the reason everything slowed down was because you upped my AGI?"

"I think so. I think the system made it so people's minds could keep up with their AGI."

"Makes Sense. Anything else that comes from your second form?"

"I have an F rank status correction for SP, but it dropped the status corrections for MP and DEX to D rank when the Resources were redistributed. So now you can say you finally have doubles D's," she said getting furious blush from Crescent.

Rolling onto her side, facing Wotan, Crescent took the unresisting wolf/raven girl into a hug.

"Wotan."

"Yes, Master?"

"Thank you for being there for me."

"Always Master. Always."

Wow, talk about a sweet ending. I'll be honest, this chapter tugged on a few heartstrings for me.

(1) This is a direct quote believe it or not and Pliny the Elder was a real person.

(2) I was genuinely surprised, but bird nest soup is an actual thing in Chinese cuisine.

(3) in order Maiden of Vengeance, Nemesis, Maiden of Ice, Cocytus, and Yuno whose full name is not yet known.

Also, in case anyone is wondering what I occasionally mean by inner and outer Mistral. Inner is closer to Japanese while outer is closer to Chinese. I probably messed that up somehow, but I'm going to stick with it.

Well, now we know where Jaune is, what type of Embryo he has, and what she's like…a big old Tsundere. And Jaune has anime protag levels of denseness. I kind of had to after it took him so long to realize Pyrrha had the hots for him. As for his Embryo, I chose Phaethon because in season 1 Jaune did bite off more than he could ever possibly chew and if not for the absurd plot armor and being paired with the strongest first-year initiate, odds are he would have died…probably very horribly. The fact he decided to just go with the flow and proceed with attempting a huntsmen initiation despite no training and not even unlocking his aura just adds to the point as well as provided the typing for his Embryo. All these factors reminded me of Phaethon and him trying to fly Apollo's chariot- to horrible results. And thus, you have Maiden of the Scorched Land, Phaethon, Type: Maiden with Advance.

As for his avatar's name, well we know he likes X-Ray and Vav so I decided he'd take inspiration from that.

Now the return of the Who's Who list.

Tinker = Will Scarlatina. He is Velvet's human father. I sort of modeled him after the stereotypical divorced run-down dad troupe. I also may or may not have hinted that things still are settling after his divorce. If you are wondering about his Embryo, well, I kind of imagined him as someone who wanted to put out the fires of his divorce and trouble with his daughter. This led to him being rather lonely, so he got a Guardner Embryo that extinguishes fires. Also, because it is an incredibly helpful Embryo for the chaos that is the Clock Tower and for future events.

Kelly Hawks = Reese Chloris. Her name comes from a combination of the world's best Surfer Kelly Slater and the world's most famous skateboarder Tony Hawk. Her job selection is based on her personality and her overly caring nature. You'll have to wait and see for her Embryo.
