Chapter 3 : It's been a while
The origin of digimon names is unknown and as digimon that apply to him as well, or he just clueless about that topic, he don't know how he got his own name but it suit him well. His live like all digimons he knew start from digital world, then he embark on his own adventure. Since he got out from digital world where he initially live, he go into humans world. It was a breath of fresh air when he comes, a new interesting things with weak creature that inhabited it. In digital world he can't boast his power with stronger digimons just right around him, but that very different in humans world.
Coming to human's world, reality quickly struck him very hard, showing that he just full of himself. Beaten up by other digimons isn't new thing for him, and to his anger is other fellow digimons that goes to this world get stronger by partnering a human child. Since his pride is so high, he reject his supposed partner and seeking power by becoming deva underling. In return he will kill all of those child and their digimon partners yet once again he failed after choosing his own way except one, leomon. Leomon tamer or partner is a child named juri and after that day he attacked the tamers group, everything spiraled down into somewhat a chaos because of him.
Everything start getting worse thanks to him. Juri thrown into distress after leomon death and used by their real enemy, further complicating the main problem. Even though in the end it's resolved, he doesn't do jack shit, he just a bystander while everyone else doing their best. He's a killer, a monster that killed the one that actually care for him, even when he lose his way.
Right now the one that stand in front of him is juri, there is a wolf like creature behind her but he doesn't scared because of that, he scared from the thought of juri will avenge her beloved partner. "impmon? Is that really you? That impmon?" Ask juri to him, she shocked when looking at him.
There is no way out, it's over for him. When juri tried to touch him he react by covering his head, tugging his tail inside and curling up to his spot, crying in fear. His death is near and he can't think anything else, not before juri grab his hand and reveal his pathetic face to her. "impmon, what happen?" That soft voice probably just a way of her to make him looks stupid, playing as a good friend before ending his life.
"juri, I found a light switch" Says the creature behind her before turning on the lights, revealing impmon's home to them.
"thanks garurumon, can you get ready? We got a problem here" That creature nod on her command, he finally realize that juri got a new digimon partner, another strong champion level digimon.
Juri sit beside him until he stop crying, on that dirty concrete despite wearing a clean clothes and petting his head. "impmon, let's go home. Why are you live in here?" The girl examine his so called home, he can see her face look disgusted, a normal reaction. "I still can't believe you survive through all that, where have you been impmon? Why don't you come back to us? We all looking for you"
Clenching his fist, he open his mouth with all strength he had, asking for his last request. Not that he thinks she will granted it, but in the end of his life trying can't hurt him even more. "I know this is a request from the monster that killed him, but if you allow it. Please do it quickly, I… don't want to be tortured, so please, I beg you juri, make it quick" He kneel to her, his legs screaming but that's not important right now. Head touching the dirty concrete, pride crumbling to the ground just to get a little chance of last peace on his life.
Juri stay silent for minutes, giving him time to reflect on his choice. "what an idiot, you think she will give you a peace? After what you did, you only deserve hell. Only suffering will comes to you and that will never atone your mistake" Impmon can't think any hope of life nor freedom, only clinging to hope of a quick painless death. He could only sob on the ground, waiting juri to decide his fate.
Instead of judgement he's been waited, his body lifted gently by juri before given a hug from her. "what are you talking about impmon? You're gonna be fine, I forgive you" He knows juri understand what he means but he can't believe what he heard from her, it never cross his mind she would say that. A warmth feelings that he never thought coming again can be felt when juri hugs his body, he can feel that the human girl wasn't lying to him, ensuring his safety. "there there, shuuush. It's going to be fine, everything's gonna be fine. It's okay, let it out impmon" Says Juri as she keep stroking impmon's back until he calmed down.
Looking at his partner, garurumon join them by circling both impmon and juri, giving them a place to lean into. "aww, are you jealous garurumon? Here you big fluff~" Juri stroke the bigger digimon's belly, making him chuckle.
Leaning on the bigger digimon's body, impmon a bit terrified of him when they got too close, garurumon aware of that and nuzzle impmon's right hand, trying to get his trust. "don't be scared, juri already told me about you, we've been trying to find you for months. Well, we kinda give up actually after all this time"
"y-you looking for me?" He turn into juri who nod to him, then just from his face she know that an explanation needed. "impmon, have you forgotten the d-reaper threat? I know It's been about five years, but you take a part on it" Her words are not really wrong but it's greatly exaggerated. "I do nothing, I can't even save you juri. Then everyone else does their job to save you while I sleeping somewhere else"
To his surprise juri shook her head and smile to him. "you trying to save me, found me before anyone else impmon. Even takato and guilmon comes second after you. That time you lend your hand as beelzebumon… if I just grab it then everything can end quicker"
It doesn't help him at all, he start getting angry from those words and both juri and garurumon can see that. "no! It's not your fault! I'm.. I'm… I'm just a monster, I should've know better that you afraid of me that time. If I just push myself a bit further… I.. it's not an excuse for me, I'm useless. I shouldn't have take those power"
Juri sigh, she can't blame him because of that too much, he already tried his best before and make up his mistake. "then it's the same for me, if you just need to grab me then I just need to grab your hand. 'just' right? I heard your words. 'I don't ask for forgiveness, I'm just coming to save you'" Impmon start to recalling on that scene, as beelzebumon he manage to break that sphere cage yet fail to save her who's right in front of him. "It's painful, I know. To see you stabbed by those plate, waiting for me to grab your hand, I started to see leomon again. You've been manipulated by those sovereign and devas who blinded by their own mind, but you accept that and tried to save me. I don't want to lose anyone else impmon, I will forgive your mistake my friend"
A moment of silence comes as impmon can't say anything, he can't keep arguing with juri and start sorting his mind a bit. Juri gives him the time and pull him closer so he lean into her, she also give garurumon a look so he stay quiet for the purple imp, giving him a moment of peace. "thank you juri" Though he can't crack a smile, she happy that he survive afterall.
"so, before anything else, I want you to know my new partner. He's garurumon, I met him in digital world. At first we thought you go back and in our journey he helped me" The big 'wolf' like digimon blush a bit, it kinda annoying that she always praise him but he also likes that. "juriii, stop that~ that's to much, I just do what I need to do"
They giggle from that except impmon, he busy checking garurumon's blue-white fur. "you met her as gabumon or garurumon?"
Both surprised by impmon question. "how do you know that? I've haven't tell you when he met me as gabumon" Reply juri confused, she also surprised that impmon expression looks more confused when she answer it like that.
"juri, his… tch, look at these" Juri makes an awkward laugh when impmon stroke garurumon's fur, inviting a laugh from garurumon.
His annoyed voice always been more familiar for juri, it shows that they going into the right direction, starting by a small talk. Looking her surroundings again, juri realize they can't stay here too long, especially after looking at impmon's condition that very bad just from a glance. "impmon, let's go to my house, you can stay there as long as you want"
A generous offer from someone he hurt before, that offer was like a bizarre dream for him. He shook his head, quickly denying her offer. "impmon! Look at yourself and this place, how can someone… I'm not going to let my friend sleep at this place again!" Even with juri pushing him, he just shook his head again. Then she went a little harder but that's still not enough to persuade impmon.
"fine, if I can't use words. There is someone else that will can do it. Garurumon, can you get them?" Impmon doesn't understand but the bigger digimon quickly run back to the sewer entrance.
