RonaldM40196867: I don't think so.
lixiaofossil: You do have a point lol.
Here's chapter 34 everybody.
Chapter 34: Launch.
Back at the alien attacker's room, mechanics are making last preparations for the spacecraft while Michael and Henry, both in OADF flight gear, say their final goodbyes.
"You know, as soon as I get back, we're gonna light those fireworks, right?" Michael asked Darius.
Darius hugs his father one last time. Meanwhile, Jakob and Jennifer are with Henry.
"Here, take these." Jakob hands Henry some barf bags since this is Henry's first space trip. Henry smiled. "Just in case."
"Where's-Where's, um..." Henry said as Tommy hands him two items. Henry hands them to Jakob, which is a Bible and a Rosary. "Just in case."
"I'm very proud of you." Jakob said.
Jennifer then approaches Henry.
"So be careful, okay?" Jennifer asked.
Henry hugs Jennifer while Michael hugs Laila, who is crying.
"It's time." Baker said.
"I love you." Michael whispered.
"I love you." Laila whispered back.
Afterwards, Michael and Henry head down the ramp, but not before Michael realizes something is missing.
"Oh, damn! Wait a minute. Wait a minute, Wait. We got to find some cigars." Michael said.
"Here! Here!" Jakob said as he grabbed two cigars from his pocket." Take these. My last two."
"You are a lifesaver." Michael said to Jakob. "Almost put a hex on the whole darn thing." Michael said to Henry.
Michael and Henry head and climb to the alien attacker and everyone starts clearing the room and helping Michael and Henry get onboard the ship. Once Michael and Henry get inside the ship and are strapped into their seats. Henry turns on his laptop and logs in.
Meanwhile, back outside, Howard has just turned on his F/A-18E, glad to be in a Hornet's cockpit. He gives a thumbs up to a mechanic. He then presses a button, which the onboard computer says...
"Missile, launch."
"Oh crap! What-What did I hit?" Howard said as he pressed another button and aborted a missile launch, averting a disaster. "I pick a hell of a day to return to a military plane after 25 years."
Howards then sees Tony, Marie and Elliot. He salutes them, which Tony smiles, Elliot salutes back, and Marie waves back.
Back at the attacker's room, Laila, Darius, Jennifer, Jakob and other personnel watch from an observation room. Inside the ship, Michael pulls out the cigars, shows one to Henry.
"This is our victory dance. Not until the fat lady sings." Michael said.
"Oh! Yes. Okay." Henry said as he grabbed the cigar.
"This is important." Michael said.
"Mm. Fat lady. I gotcha." Henry said.
Meanwhile, the scientists prepare the alien spacecraft's launch.
"Open launch tunnel." Baker said on the intercom.
With that, a massive launch tunnel near the ceiling opens up, showing the pre-sunrise sky. At the same time, the clamps are removed from the ship, and the ship comes to life, shaking the pilots.
"Shaky, huh? Is it gonna do this the whole way?" Henry asked.
"Just make sure your seat backs and tray tables are in their upright and locked position." Michael said.
"Yeah-Is it?" Henry asked.
After a safety ramp positioned itself and the ship is in the position to go through the tunnel, Michael says...
"Let's rock 'n' roll."
Michael then calmly pushes the steering control sticks forward. However, instead of going forward, the alien attacker flies backwards, slamming into the safety ramp.
"Oops." Michael laughed.
"Oops? What does that mean? What do you mean-." Henry asked.
"Nah. I-I got it. Some jerk didn't put the..." Michael said as he flipped a paper showing the control instructions upside down.
"I know what I mean when I say it. What do you mean saying 'oops' there?" Henry asked.
"What do you say we try that one again, huh?" Michael asked.
"Yes, yes. Yes, without the 'oops'. There's the...thataway." Henry said, pointing at the tunnel.
Michael then pulls the control sticks back. This time, the spacecraft moves forward. Michael and Henry yell and cheer until the ship clears the tunnel.
"I have got to get me one of these!" Michael said.
Meanwhile, Trigger, Mobius 1 and Talisman have finished strapping into their seats when Shamrock spots the spacecraft.
"They're airborne!" Shamrock said.
They look to see Michael and Henry's alien attacker climbing into the sky.
Meanwhile, Michael does a barrel roll to the ship as it climbs higher into the sky over Area 95.
"No-No. What was that? Don't do that." Henry said.
"Just trying to get a feel for the old girl, that's all." Michael said.
"Oh, no-no, don't. Leave her alone." Henry said.
"Look! No hands." Michael said as he let go of the controls briefly.
"Michael!" Henry said.
"Ha ha ha ha!" Michael laughed.
The spacecraft is on its way to space.
Meanwhile, Trigger has put on his helmet before contacting Long Caster, who had taken off earlier.
"Long Caster, do you read me?" Trigger asked.
"Roger, Strider 1. Attention all aircraft, our primary target has shifted course." Long Caster said.
"What! Which way are they headed?" Mobius 1 asked.
"I think our secret's out. They're headed straight for us. ETA 26 minutes. Lieutenant General Shepherd and command will also be in contact with you all." Long Caster replied.
Meanwhile, back at the spacecraft, Henry was groaning from the launch.
"Still with me over there?" Michael asked.
"What the hell was I thinking? " Henry groaned.
Michael continues to look out the windows, the blue hue of the Earth's atmosphere being replaced by the blackness of space and see thousands of stars. For Michael, this is a dream come true. He always wanted to be an astronaut, but was rejected. Now, he has finally gotten his dream come true.
"I've been waiting for this my whole life." Michael said.
The spacecraft continues to fly through the vastness of space, with the massive alien Mothership in sight. The Mothership looks different from the City Destroyers. It has an irregular dome on top, and two fin-like structures at the bottom of the ship. Michael couldn't believe what he was seeing while Henry remained calm.
"Head straight for it." Henry said.
Henry then suddenly types something in his laptop, which causes the ship to pilot by itself.
"What the hell..." Michael said as he tries to regain control but Henry stops him.
"Don't touch them! No, no, don't! I was counting on this. They are bringing us in." Henry informed.
"When the hell was you gonna tell me?" Michael asked.
"Oops." Henry replied.
"We're going to have to work on our communication." Michael said as the alien attacker continues to head for the Mothership.
Back at Earth, a few miles from Area 95, thousands of aircraft; Osean Yuktobanian, IUN, Erusean, Belkan, Ustian, Sapinish, Emmerian, Aurelian and Leasathian squadrons, including Strider, Cyclops, Sol, Mobius, Garuda, Windhover, Avalanche, Sky Kid and Stingray squadrons get in formation. A City Destroyer is now in their sights.
"We have visual." Trigger said.
"Do not engage, until we've confirmed the package has been delivered." Shepherd said.
"Roger." Trigger said.
"Attention all aircraft, this is Long Caster, I'll monitor your positions during battle. Strider Squadron, you'll be the lead squadron in this operation." Long Caster said.
The pilots continue to stay close as the City Destroyer continues to slowly head towards Area 95 and the oncoming aircraft.
Back at the underground tracking facility at Area 95. Jennifer sees on the monitor that the City Destroyer is approaching the base and asks Lincoln about some details.
"Major, what happens if that thing gets here... Before the virus is planted?" Jennifer asked.
"Well, ma'am, this facility is buried deep within the mountain. It should provide us some protection." Lincoln replied.
"Great. What about the people outside?" Jennifer asked.
That question got to Lincoln. He looks at the same monitor and sees that the ship is heading to the base. He also realized that there are civilians still outside at the surface. He picks up the phone and says...
"Lieutenant Barry, we got incoming."
And that's the end of the chapter. Well, the final battle is almost here, but before that, the virus must be delivered. Soon, the Mothership will be infiltrated. Stay tuned for the next chapter. Please review. :)
