By lunchtime, all thoughts of "blend in, act normal" had gone out the proverbial window. To the amusement of the locals, and the annoyance of one Dr. Julie Langford, the man tried climbing a tree in the Rolling Hills area of Arcadia. It was just outside the exit to the Rapture Metro station.
The man finally managed to get up into the tree by jumping from some nearby rocks, grabbing onto a branch, and climbing along closer to the trunk.
As he pulled himself up further into the branches and found a place to sit up against the trunk, he heard a voice call through the crowd, "well, now, what's all this commotion?"
The man glanced down and saw another man pushing his way to the front of the crowd. He climbed down the few low branches and dropped onto the grass, meeting with the new man.
The new man continued, "so this is the mysterious stranger I've heard whispers about all morning."
"I guess I wasn't as subtle as I thought."
"Where are my manners? I'm Augustus Sinclair, sport. Esquire."
"I, ah…" The man hesitated. "I'm nobody special."
"Well, Nobody Special, why don't I show you around Rapture, get you some lunch and, ah, something a little less conspicuous to wear?"
And so Sinclair took the newcomer to the city to Fort Frolic to get new clothes tailored. One outfit was easily fixed up enough to wear right then, and the rest were sent to Sinclair's apartment. Then the pair took the privately-owned bathysphere Sinclair "managed to afford" (in his words) to the Kashmir Restaurant. Sinclair's apparent status within the city also got them into the Silk Lounge section of the restaurant.
