Reassurance

Madison bit her lips tightly to prevent herself from crying as she saw Vida shrink on herself in the couch. All she wanted to do was give her sister a hug but Lena had a firm grasp on her shoulder. The elder witch had explained that with Vida being a newly turned vampire, she wouldn't be able to control her bloodlust and it would be safer for everyone if she was contained.

"Vida…" She murmured. Madison had never felt so helpless in her life. Vida was supposed to be the strong one, the one who could overcome anything. To see her so broken and hopeless devastated her.

"I am a monster!" The pink mage whimpered, tears streaming out of the corner of her eyes.

Madison looked at Chip, Xander and Neil… all of them having the same despair in their eyes. In all their years of knowing the older Rocca sister, they had never seen her cry.

"No!" Madison snapped angrily. "No! You are still Vida, my sister, my hero!"

Vida looked up at her, her lips trembling. "No, you don't understand…"

"No. She is right, V." Chip agreed. "You are still you. We believe in you."

"You don't understand… You don't understand what they did to me! What I became!" Vida screamed at them, baring her fangs and her eyes turning red. "I am a vampire! A monster!"

"No." Udonna spoke firmly. "Your friends are right. You may have become a creature of night, but you are no monster."

"How can you say that!" She shouted at the white witch. "Everything inside me is screaming at me to slash all your throats and drink your blood!"

"And yet, you haven't made a single attempt to attack us." The white witch smiled at her gently. "Furthermore, even after being turned, you were able to morph into a ranger. That only means one thing. Human or not, your heart is pure and good."

"For how long?" The pink witch muttered grimly.

"Don't say that! Don't you ever say that!" Maddie said, shaking Lena off and entering the circle.

Vida's eyes widened as she dug her nails into the couch and pressed herself further back.

"What are you doing?" Vida hissed. "Stay back!"

"I am proving that you will never hurt me or any of us. Despite what happened, you are still the bravest person we know. And I believe in you." Madison said firmly, extending a hand to her sister.

The pink witch gulped, taking her sister's hand with her own tenderly.

Madison sniffed as she pulled her sister out of the couch and into her arms, wrapping her in a warm hug.

The pink mage cried, returning the embrace hesitantly.

"How can you still believe in me?" She asked.

"Because we are sisters." She replied. "I have known you my entire life, sis and you never back down from a fight."

"I believe in you too." Chip said, stepping in the circle and joining the hug.

"Me too." Xander joined in.

"And me." Neil said, entering the circle, despite Lena's stern glare.

"We all believe in you, V." Nick said as he and Clare joined the hug.

"You guys…" Vida whispered disbelievingly.

"It will be hard but we will support you the best we can." Lena gave her a small smile and Udonna nodded.

"Thank you…" The pink mage finally smiled. "All of you…"
