The Vancuria Clan

While Vida had managed to curb her vampiric instincts, she had insisted her friends leave the forcefield just in case.

"There were others…" She said slowly. "They were waiting for us, hidden amongst us, the DJ too… The other people in the party, those who weren't already vampires, were turned."

Udonna and Lena looked apalled.

"How many were there?" Lena asked.

"I don't know for sure. The whole place was packed." The pink witch said quickly. "Thirty? Thirty-five?"

"Thirty-five vampires running across the city." Lena massaged her forehead. "Newly turned vampires on top of that… It could be a bloodbath."

"There must be a way to stop them." Neil said. "I mean Vida isn't a bloodthirsty monster, so there is a chance the others can-"

"Retaining humanity after being converted is an exception not the norm." Udonna said softly. "We should count our stars that Vida was strong enough."

Just then, the pink mage let out a scream of anguish as she staggered back into the couch.

"Vida!" Madison yelled but Nick held her back.

"V!" Chip shouted as they neared the circle but didn't cross it.

"She is calling me… Lilith!" Vida groaned.

"The sire bond…" Udonna murmured. "It ties the newly sired vampire to their maker."

"What do we do?" Madison asked.

Their mentors exchanged hesitant looks.

"If we destroy Lilith, the queen of vampires, all those turned by her would be released from her thrall… but still there's a matter of inducting them into the supernatural world and ensuring they don't harm those around them or get destroyed walking into sunlight without protection…" Lena said gravely. "We need help."

"Who can help us?" Clare asked curiously. "We are the last of the mystics. The Academy is gone and-"

Her eyes widened. "No, not them! You can't be serious!"

"We have no other option, Clare." Udonna grimaced.

"Okay. Gentle reminder. We are a bit lost since we are a bit new to the magic stuff." Xander droned. The other mystics nodded.

"While Necrolai is the queen of vampires, she didn't speak for all her kind. There were those who didn't agree to her alliance with the Underworld. After Necrolai and her forces were sealed in the Underworld, they formed a tentative alliance with the Mystic Force, promising not to turn any non-consenting individual and feeding on livestock instead of sapient beings." Udonna explained. "Relations with them have been strained at best and their numbers are few…"

"Non consenting? Who would ever consent to this?" Vida asked aghast.

"Those who are dying anyways… sick without cure." Lena said slowly.

"Like dad?"

'Yes, but as Vida said, who would choose this? Immortality comes at a hefty price." Lena told her son. "At the price of losing your humanity. Your father was the kindest and bravest out of all of us. Even knowing the pain that awaited him, he chose to fight back without losing who he was."

The saffron sentinel shook her head, clearing her thoughts. "Anyway, we need to contact the clan. Udonna?"

The white witch nodded, walking over to the table and placing her hands over the crystal ball as she closed her eyes, her hands glowing with white magic that surged through the ball.

"How are you so sure they will help?" Vida cut in.

"Because they were turned just like you were, Vida. They are not like Necrolai and Lilith. They are good people." Lena said firmly.

"You forgot to mention old friends." A voice drawled from behind them. Their eyes darted towards the crystal ball, which now showed two identical looking women in elegant black attire staring at them from a cave. Udonna had stepped back from the orb, resting on one of the wooden chairs as the telecommunication spell had taken out a lot of magic from her.

"Mea, Nai…" Lena said with a smile, approaching the crystal ball, the other rangers following her hesitantly. "It's been too long."

"It has." The lady on the right said.

"We thought you had left the magical world behind." The one on the left continued.

"They are doing a freaky twin thing…" Nick murmured underneath his breath.

"Forget that, I can't believe we are seeing a magical video call…" Xander shrugged.

The twins laughed, tilting their heads at the two of them.

"You can hear us?" Nick asked.

"Vampiric hearing, dumbasses." Vida scowled from her couch.

The twins looked at each other disbelievingly before looking at the pale witch in pink. "New blood in Mystic Force?"

"As you can see, things have become dire." Lena told them. "I could no longer stay aloof. The forces of the Underworld have returned and the Mystic Academy was destroyed. Everyone you see in this room… We are the last of the Mystic Force. Necrolai was destroyed but another more ruthless vampire calling herself Lilith has taken her place. She has turned many unsuspecting teenagers in the human world, including one of our own."

The twins' eyes flared up with rage.

"How many?"

"Around thirty."

"Thirty newly turned vampires running across a human city!" They shrieked in unison.

"And they are adolescents on top of it." One of them scoffed.

"We will help anyway we can." The other said with a steely look. "But it appears we might have to be there in person to help."

"You know you are welcome in Rootcore." Udonna said with a small smile.

The twins looked at each other, linking arms. "Uthe Sastros!"

A purple spell circle enveloped them as the crystal ball blanked out and reverted to normal, moments before the twins appeared in the middle of Rootcore.

"Your magic… You used the same spell that Koragg used to, not the ones we use." Neil noted.

"We literally can't use your spells. They are light magic and we are creatures of the dark." They said together. "Greetings, Mystic Force. We are Mea and Nai of the Vancuria Clan."

"Which one of you is which?" Nick asked, scratching his head.

"You are cute." The one in the right laughed. She had her done up in pigtails. "I am Mea."

"And I am Nai." The other said, her hair tied in a single braid.

"I am Nick." He introduced. "These are Xander, Madison, Neil, Chip, Clare and Vida."

"Vida…" Mea pursed her lips. "Lilith… She had named herself after the first one. Do you feel her call?"

The pink witch nodded.

"Good." Nai hummed appreciatively. "That will be the key to defeating her."

"What do you mean?" Madison asked.

"She will draw out this Lilith. If she is truly the one responsible for siring so many new vampires, all of them will be under her thrall. The first step to helping them will be destroying this queen."

"And how do we do that?" Chip asked.

"Well, first, Vida needs to lure her out." Nai said.

"Lure her out…" Madison repeated, her eyes flashing. "You want to use her as a bait?"

"It's okay, Maddie." Vida said quickly. "I will be okay."

"I am sorry, young one but it is the only way. We need to set a trap and your sister is the only one who can trick Lilith." Nai said, placing a gloved hand over Madison's shoulder.

"And after that, what?" Chip asked. "I looked through the vampire books. They say that the queen of the vampires cannot be destroyed."

"Not by traditional means, yes." Mea said. "But there are ways."

"There must be…" Neil pointed out. "I mean, Bandora destroyed Necrolai in front of us!"

"By using dark magic that we can never use." Udonna said sternly.

"But we can, and so can she." Nai pointed at Vida. "She is now a child of the dark just like us. We may not be evil but dark magic are now a part of our very being."

"But I don't know any dark spells…" Vida stuttered.

"One perk of dark magic is that often you don't need incantations. Your emotions will do the work for you. When you face Lilith, channel all your rage at her."

"Will it be enough?" Vida asked.

"Only if your rage is. You need to want to destroy her." Nai said grimly.

"I don't like this." Udonna sighed.

"If it's the only way, I will do it." Vida said determinedly.

"Remember, you must do it before the sun rises." Mea warned. "You are a creature of the shadow now. As the queen of vampires, Lilith is impervious to the sunlight but the rest of us are not so…"

"So, even when all this is over, Vida can't get out of the house in daytime?" Madison asked.

"Unfortunately, yes. Our clan lives in the Twilight Dimension, where there is eternal dusk. Once Lilith is destroyed, we can gather up the newly turned and give them new homes in our dimension." Nai said slowly.

"But that would mean that they will have to leave their human lives behind." Chip said. "Even Vida."

"It's the only solution we have to salvage this dastardly situation." Mea said blankly. "They won't be hurt and they won't unintentionally hurt any of their loved ones."

"There must be other ways…" Madison protested. "My sister can't be moving to another dimension!"

"Hey, it will be alright." Vida said gently. "I will be alright but first, I will make Lilith pay for what she did to me."

My original plan was to end the vampire arc this chapter but I decided not to, because it became too exposition heavy. Maybe next chapter. Anyway, did you guys like the Magiranger references and cameos?

Reviewer replies: RPM Shadow (Yes. Daggeron will get a wife. I have ideas and character descriptions for her on my Instagram page. She will not play a major role in this story though but will do so in my Twilight Trilogy, which is part of the Legacy-verse series.), pinkys76278282 (Thank you so much for the reviews! I didn't expect to get any new readers this far in the story and I am really happy you liked my depiction of Vida. I am sorry for making you tear up but hearing you say that makes me feel proud of my writing! Thank you again!)
