Summary: Lea and Shaun cope with the news of Lea's infertility. Set right after the end of "Boys Don't Cry".

That night when Shaun and Lea came home after receiving the devastating news from Dr. Winkler - scar tissue was present in Lea's uterus from the fetoscopic laser ablation and the D&E, meaning that it would be difficult to conceive and that pregnancy would be dangerous for her - Lea broke down crying in Shaun's arms.

After a couple of minutes, when Shaun removed the calendar of Lea's menstrual cycle, they fixed themselves some glasses of wine and made their way to the couch, wanting to forget this whole thing for at least five minutes.

Lea, who could still feel the lube from the transvaginal ultrasound leaking into her pants, immediately took a drink before she sat on the couch and leaned into Shaun, who picked up the remote from the coffee table to turn on the TV, which was playing a rerun of King of the Hill. Shaun didn't even bother to change the channel.

It wasn't fair.

Some parents didn't deserve to be parents, but they could easily get pregnant without even trying.

The Duggars were awful people with bigoted, misogynistic values, yet they could have as many kids as they needed and even got rich from producing almost 20 children and indoctrinating them into their disgusting cult.

Shaun and Lea wanted a baby so badly, and this news was a more brutal blow to their hearts than losing their baby. It was like the universe didn't want them to have nice things.

The problem could be fixed with an operative hysteroscopy, but all Lea wanted to do was just be sad for a bit. She didn't want to wait another year to get pregnant.

She was really looking forward to trying right now. Right now, she wanted to see a positive pregnancy test. Right now, she wanted to be carrying a baby in her womb. Right now, she wanted to share baby news with her friends and family happily. Right now, she wanted to be making blueprints for a nursery. Right now, she wanted to be putting a baby registry together.

But she had to either wait longer to get pregnant or never even bother dreaming and fantasizing about that stuff anymore.

Once again, Lea felt like a failure. First thing tomorrow, she was probably going to call her parents to tell them she couldn't have children and also pick up her birth control prescription she was just prescribed. After what Dr. Winkler told her today, the last thing she needed was her parents asking when she and Shaun would have children.

Shaun knew there was a surgery that could fix her Asherman syndrome so she could safely get pregnant, but Lea wanted to grieve the possibility first. So, he did not need to mention it to her again like he did over dinner. All she needed right now was his comfort and support.

When they lost the baby, Dr. Lim told them none of it would affect their chances of having a healthy baby later. She was wrong.

As soon as they finished their glasses of wine, the disappointed couple fixed themselves another and then continued to distract themselves with a marathon of reruns of adult cartoons on Adult Swim until they fell asleep on the couch.
