Evil Schemes

The Underworld

Imperious scurried away from the furious general as he roared while Bandora rolled her eyes.

"Stop your tantrums, husband!" She scoffed.

"Tantrums! Tantrums!" He turned towards her furiously. "Not only did you fail to acquire the Gatekeeper, you unleashed a Phoenix! Your plan backfired, Bandora!"

The witch's eyes glinted. "That is more than what you are doing!"

"What! You dare!" Morticon slammed his sword on the floor, cracking the grey stone slab.

"Don't forget who is really in charge here." She snapped her fingers and tendrils of black lightning slammed against the mutant, pining him to one of the pillars. "If it weren't for me, you would still be at the beck and call of my father. I made you a king!"

"A king of what?" He snarled, cutting through the tendrils with his sword. "An army that is forever cast to this desolate dimension!"

"You blame me for that!" The witch screamed at him, her eyes blazing with fury.

"If I may?" Imperious cut in.

The two rulers turned to glare at him.

"Maybe instead of ruminating on our failures, we should see what we accomplished instead." He offered.

"And what did we accomplish?" Morticon sneered.

"One augmented werewolf killed a ranger. If it had been any other ranger, they would have certainly perished." He continued.

"Your point being?" The mutant pressed but his wife's eyes lit up.

"If one werewolf can defeat the rangers and kill one, imagine what an army of them can do!" Bandora cackled happily.

"And where do you suppose, we can find that army?" Morticon asked. "That was a lone werewolf you persuaded to join our ranks."

"Oh, dear husband, leave that to me." She cooed at him, a sinister smile etching across her face.

It is a short chapter but it gives a taste of things to come. I will update this story more frequently after I finish my MMPR Once and Always rewrite this week.
