Interlude – Necrolai, Queen No More

Necrolai felt her world crumble around her. She had prided herself on being the mistress of the Underworld, yet now she understood her true place… a fool who had been manipulated with false promises to lure the vampires into being soldiers for the Dark Forces.

Her life lay on the whims of a mad woman, who had killed her own father – the Master himself to secure her hold on the Underworld.

She had been betrayed and all this time, she thought she was fighting for her kind, promising them a new land, instead she had doomed her brethren to death under the command of masters who saw her and her kind as nothing but pawns.

Bandora had struck her and Koragg when they had least suspected it, because she knew that they would have never supported her over the Master.

Despite what she proclaimed, Necrolai knew the only reason she had been brought back only to lure the vampires back to the side of the darkness.

And now, she had lost everything, not just her title of the vampire queen, but also her daughter…

Her poor daughter, who had amassed a new generation of vampires in her attempt to create an army powerful enough to take on Bandora. However, she had underestimated her own sire – the pink ranger, who instead of succumbing to her control had destroyed her, taking over the title and privileges of the vampire queen.

Necrolai put on a façade as she watched Koragg and Bandora summon an army of Wolfblades and charged them with dark magic. She bared her fangs and joined in their evil laughter, ignoring the grief that drowned her and the need for revenge that consumed her mind.

Despite Bandora's obvious attempts to pit her against the new vampire queen, she knew who the real culprit behind her daughter's death was…

Leelee would not have been put in that difficult position if Bandora hadn't seemingly destroyed her.

When the powers of the Queen had transferred to her daughter in her absence, Leelee's mind had crumbled under the influence of those before her and she had given into her darkest impulses, her desire for revenge overwriting even her own morals.

She had always wanted her daughter to embrace her destiny, but never like this… It had cost Leelee everything. She had died as a monster instead of who she really was.

It was all her fault for imposing her desires on Leelee, always scorning her and ridiculing her for being half human.

If Leelee had remained human instead of trying to avenge her, she would have still been alive.

Her daughter was gone.

The thought kept intruding her mind, torturing her every second.

To her masters and allies, to whom she had devoted her entire life to, did not even bat an eye towards her or offer condolence.

The truth was crystal clear.

They never wanted a revolution.

They never cared about her or her kind.

All they wanted was mindless destruction to fuel the emptiness of their own hearts.

It was so clear now. She had been so blinded by her own hatred towards the mystics that she had not seen who she had joined forces with.

Nai and Mei had been right all those years ago.

She had chosen the wrong side and Leelee had paid the price.

She knew that even if the pink mystic had not destroyed her, Bandora would have.

Oh, she would still make the pink mystic pay, but in due time.

However, her true enemy at this moment was the pompous witch who betrayed her, and cost her everything.

Necrolai snarled.

Soon, very soon, Bandora would pay.
