Love Struck Eternal

Chapter 27 - Friends in high places.

Sam's POV, An hour later.

"You ever need something you give Twig or myself a call. Till then you keep that and take care of yourself." Verno urged me as I found myself leaving his home with more than I came in with.

Carrying a small briefcase out with me, I found Twig waiting with his car. He was smoking a cigarette and upon putting it out with his shoe he asked me.

"So how'd it go? Nice guy right?"

Smiling, I replied.

"You could say that."

"Ready to get back to your hotel? I'll drop you off."

"Thank you." I replied as he got the door for me. Upon sitting down, I put the briefcase on my lap and waited till he had gotten in before asking.

"Are you going after Remp? Verno seems to think you're on the fence about it."

"I am." He replied as I kept myself quiet which gave him time to think of a proper answer.

"I don't know yet. Remp went to Columbia. It's a fucking jungle over there. I'm doing my best to think it over for once. After what happened when it came to not listening to you, I wanna do my best listening to Brock. I can't leave just yet. Not with everything in the mob getting bumpy."

"Just be careful if you do." I urged him as we got on the road.

"I will." His voice seemed sincere. I took that for what I could and proceeded to drift off for the rest of the drive. Once we got back to my hotel I looked back at him to sigh.

"Well good luck."

"You too." He replied as I stepped out and shut the door.

I didn't know what else to really say to him. He did me a solid with this Verno thing. I had him to thank for how well it turned out. Yet regardless of everything my fucking head still shifted back to my uncle.

Putting down the briefcase near my duffel bag, I reached behind my back and rested my gun down on the nearby nightstand. I got to work on getting my vest off and once that was all done with I decided to sit down on the bed and look at my phone. Tapping my feet on the floor, I struggled with my internals and scrolled around for my mother. Once I had her number in front of me, I stared at it and slowly hit the call button. I felt my heart beating rapidly but I couldn't not call about this.

I had to know.

Zeta's POV.

Morning came and I found myself once again alone in the house. Raptor was gone and for good reason, but I couldn't help but feel like shit. Why did this all have to happen? Why Char? Why now?

I was lost staring at a cup of coffee I made when all the sudden I heard my phone going off in front of me on the kitchen table. Slowly I looked up expecting to see a call from Pepper or my soon to be husband, but I nearly felt my heart stop when I saw it was Samantha.

"Wait….what…?!" I lost all ability to function. I knocked my coffee halfway over just scrambling for my phone. When I got it in my hands I hit the answer button and nearly cried out in happiness.

"Samantha?!"

Her voice was sad yet strangely calm as she replied nervously.

"Hey mom."

I nearly couldn't breathe. I've been waiting for a moment like this to become real. Part of my soul was convinced my daughter was lost to this world, yet here she was contacting me after all this time. All I could do was indeed cry and ask her nervously back.

"How are you?"

I knew my daughter. She was me after all. So I knew despite everything just how to approach this very conversation. Slowly.

"I'm good. Getting by."

"That's great to hear. I'm…..?" I had to sniff up my feelings and once she heard that she begged me.

"Please don't cry mom."

"I'm sorry!" I replied as we both took a moment to calm down. After a few seconds I said to her.

"I just miss you so much. I….I didn't know what was going on. Your father…...I know about Peek and I know about Rosco. I'm not mad. I just wish I knew what you were going through back then. I would have done more. I'm so sorry Samantha."

"It's not your fault." She tried to tell me as I went on to ask her.

"What have you been up to? Are you still in LA?"

"For now." She replied as I proceeded to ask.

"School?"

In a much quieter tone she replied.

"No. I'm…..working."

Happy to hear that, I wondered.

"Doing what?"

She hesitated. I gave her so much time to answer me, but instead she said to me.

"I don't want to talk about it."

My thoughts began to wonder why. Then the first thing that came to mind was what could be driving her to avoid the conversation. Only one thing came to mind almost instantly so I asked her.

"What happened to Mocha? Are you safe?"

"Yeah. She replied as I again went silent in hopes she would tell me what happened. Instead I got silence again so I took a chance and asked her.

"Did you hear? Your dad and I are getting married."

"I did. He texted me about it. I'm happy he finally did it."

"Me too." I replied with a smile as she went forward with a question of her own.

"I heard about Char. What happened?"

With the subject changing drastically I replied.

"We don't know yet. The treaty he was attending was attacked by some group. Your father doesn't know who yet, but he's working on it. We're almost certain it was mercenaries, but we can't pin them to a group or a military, so it's safe for everyone to assume they're just terrorists."

"Was Yoga killed too?" She asked as I shook my head.

"By a miracle he wasn't, but he did get close. He's in Iran under close protection thanks to some of your father's men. He's the only living witness; so everyone wants him safe and secure till they can get some answers."

"What's taking them so long then?" She then wondered as I quickly fixed my hair to reply.

"He's in a coma. Doctors think he will be for a few more days, but they aren't sure yet. We're all praying for him, but he's tough. He'll get through this."

"I hope." Sam whispered as I decided to push my chances by begging her.

"Please come home baby."

"I can't." She replied as I questioned.

"Why? Are you scared? Your father and I don't care. We just want you here where you'll be safe. Please Sam….?"

"Mom." She cut me off and that brought more tears to my eyes as I began to vocally cry out loud. She just let me let it all out.

"I just want to know what's happening with my baby girl! I haven't heard a thing from you for over six months! Why!? Why can't you talk about it!? I'm your mother! Please baby just talk to me! I just want you to be safe!"

I tried to keep my head up but it was so hard. Sam still wouldn't tell me anything even after all that. She kept quiet until I asked her this.

"Are you going to come home for the wedding?"

"When is it?" She asked back as I quickly replied.

"December thirty first. Your father and I agreed we'd like to wake up at the start of the new year to celebrate it. Our first day really together. I don't know what you're doing, but I don't want this to happen without you there."

"I'll be there." She replied which got me so happy almost instantly to hear. Now crying some tears of joy I thanked her.

"Thank you!"

"I have to go now mom." She informed me back a moment after.

Wiping my face and sitting back up in my seat, I asked her.

"Can you please keep in touch with me? You said you'd try. It's all I'm gonna ask of you baby. Please?"

"I…..I…..?"

"Sam?" I whispered in confusion as she hesitated. With silence coming to us, I widened my eyes when she suddenly said.

"I'm…..I'm sorry. I love you. Bye."

She hung up leaving me to question what was happening with my baby. I tried to think about everything she managed to say to me and nothing was coming to mind. I got no answers towards Mocha's death and I barely knew what was happening to her. I thought she wanted to pursue school? Now she's…..working? Doing what? I asked myself as I heard the front door open. In confusion I turned to find Raptor on his way in. The moment he saw my face he asked.

"What happened?"

With my phone clutched in my hands, I replied.

"Sam called. You just missed her."

Raptor widened his eyes as I broke back out into tears.

Sam's POV.

Wiping my eyes, I looked to my side to find my phone sitting there. I had no words to describe the emotions I was going through other than depression. At the very least I knew despite all the pain I put my mom through right there she was at least going to be happy knowing I wasn't dead after all this time, but what came with it might not have been worth it. How the hell was I gonna work out her wedding? Right now just thinking about it worries me. I doubt I would even be confident enough to show. What the hell was I thinking? I asked myself as I tried to collect what little I had left of my energy for the day.

With my ability to think somewhat available. I decided to try and meditate. I had to force all this emotion away. I didn't want to stay depressed if I had the ability to choose not to.

Getting down on the floor, I crossed my legs and rested my arms on my legs. My hair covered my face as I pulled off my hat and set it down on the bed behind me. Once I was ready I shut my eyes and proceeded to focus. I could get through this. I had too. I told myself as I felt my world grow still.

The next day.

"Small room." Jari stated as we decided to relax a little before going out.

Thanks to my mediation last night, I had more than enough focus for today to work with. However this was the first time Jari and I were ever alone together. I wasn't planning to do anything to him. I just liked the idea of having another friend like Teddy at my side. Not that this little rabbit was anything like that bear. It was just the idea of what they each meant to me.

I sat down on the bed as the little guy took a quick look around the room. I wasn't shocked when he noticed all the bags that I had tucked in a small open closet nearest the door.

"You pack really neat." He admitted.

"Thank you." I replied back as he questioned while pointing at one of my duffel bags.

"What's in that one?"

The one he referred to just so happened to be the bag I had all the gear from the Cora job stored in. Not wanting to hide it I replied.

"A rifle."

The rabbit widened his eyes and questioned.

"What? Really? You have a gun?"

"I have two." I informed him as I went behind my back to pull out my Luger.

Refocused on me now, I made sure the safety was on before offering it to him. His hands were just big enough to hold it. Almost lost for words, he said to me.

"I've never actually held one of these before. Wow, it's heavy."

I just slightly chuckled as he asked me.

"Why do you have guns?"

Keeping it simple I replied.

"To protect myself? Why else?"

"Oh, I don't know." He chuckled back as he aimed my Luger at the nearest wall.

"You like guns?" I wondered as I noticed his keen eyes looking over the weapon very closely. Upon looking back at me; he replied while handing it over.

"I think they're pretty cool. Here."

I took back my Luger and for the moment put it down on the nightstand. Jari during said time proceeded to ask me with an open and happy voice.

"So what did you want to do today? It's pretty early."

Fixing my shirt I replied.

"I don't really know. It's so hot out."

"Wanna watch a movie?" He then asked as I considered that to be a really good idea. I didn't wanna go out just yet in this heat. It was nearly ninety out there and the city made it worse. Giving the rabbit a nod I replied.

"That actually sounds awesome. I don't wanna go out just yet. I'd rather give it time to cool off. It's supposed to rain in a few hours anyway."

"Then let's do that then. Do you wanna go to a theater?"

Shaking my head I replied.

"Nah. We can just chill here. This place has a pretty good selection from what I saw and I can just pay for it. Plus the room service is cheaper."

"Oh okay." He muttered as he took a look at the bed I was sitting on. Giving him a small smile I urged.

"Well hop on up. I'm not gonna have you watch from the floor now. That would be rude."

Somewhat surprised, he replied while making his way up onto the bed.

"I just didn't want to make it seem awkward."

The little rabbit got up in a matter of a single hop. I found it somewhat amusing to watch him at work. Enough so that I let out a small chuckle as he found himself a place next to me on my left side. He had his own pillow and everything, yet he got comfortable before questioning.

"What? You making fun of me?"

"You know me so well already?" I replied back with which got him to laugh as well before urging me.

"You better watch yourself."

"Oh really?" I laughed back as I turned on the tv and got browsing for a movie.

Looking me up and down, Jari replied confidently.

"You don't know what I'm capable of. My size gives me all sorts of advantages."

"Like?" I wondered as he quickly replied.

"I'll take out your legs before you know it."

"Hahahaha sure!" I laughed as he was clearly overestimating himself in this matter.

Jari looked somewhat annoyed by my laughter and with it he did the unthinkable and grabbed me by my tail which I had resting behind my back. However I just smiled and kept my eyes on the tv as he playfully began to yank it in hopes I would react. However he saw my first reaction and questioned while yanking it harder.

"Doesn't this bother you!?"

Giving him a very tiny glare back, I replied.

"You'd have to do a lot worse to get me to react the way you want me to. I'm not about to yelp out for help just because you started yanking at my tail like a child pleading for their mother would."

I wasn't against it though. Otherwise I would have taken my tail away long ago. So not even to his own awareness I was letting him hold onto it. Hell it was long enough to coil his neck if he wanted to. But it seemed my previous statement drove him to ask me this.

"Like what?"

I had a strong feeling he was itching to receive my attention with that question. Or maybe he was serious. I don't know and I didn't really care. It was just fun playing around with him. He clearly wanted a piece of me so no harm to it.

Lowering the tv remote for a few moments to think, I slowly replied.

"Why would I tell you that?"

"Because you're twice my size and you'd like to give me every advantage if we had to fight some day."

Giving him my full respect, I chuckled out.

"You have my respect for even calling something like that a fight. I'd eat you in a second."

Giving me a wild face, he questioned.

"You don't want to do that. I don't taste very good."

"Keep yanking my tail and that's a risk I'm willing to take." I informed him back as I playfully snapped my teeth at his general direction. Almost instantly the guy let me go and I decided to give him some attention for doing so as I went back to looking for a movie.

Using my left hand, I reached over to put my hand right on top of his head. My palm forced its way between his ears and with a delicate touch I used my first two claws to begin scratching his scalp. The reaction that came from it was an instant groan and his head caving forward to the feeling. I just kept at it, but kept my eyes on the screen as he proceeded to coo.

"Ohhhh….that feels so good. Sam?"

"Hmmm?" I mumbled back.

Reaching up to swat at my hand, he begged me.

"Stop that. I can't handle that shit."

"Why not?" I proceeded to ask as he was gently fixing his fur.

Giving me two sleepy eyes he replied.

"Because I'll fall asleep."

"Seriously?" I questioned as he nodded and snatched the remote out of my hand. Giving him a small smile; I reached back to keep scratching at his head. Instantly the rabbit attempted to move forward but was quickly caught back in a loop of feeling calm and relaxed. So much so that he fell forward and shut his eyes. For a moment I questioned if he fell asleep that fast, but when I started to slow down he groaned.

"Stop…...please…?"

He was fucking serious. I kept scratching and he seriously seemed like he was on the edge of passing out and typically I would stop but he looked too damn cute. His ears went back till they were resting on his neck and his breathing had slowed. What made it better was his legs were gently starting to kick. Soon he seriously was asleep and the remote slipped out of his hand and landed on the floor.

"Jari?" I whispered in disbelief that he really just fell asleep that fast from something that seemed so little.

I got no answer. He was out. Taking my hand off his head, I chuckled lightly and got up to pick up the remote. I'd like to wake him, but I had a good feeling he wouldn't be out long. There is no way he could sleep all day, so I'd find our movie before then and have it ready so he could just wake up to it.

Plopping myself back down onto the bed, I settled on a comedy after about ten minutes of searching and proceeded to wait for him to naturally wake up. During such a time, I looked him over. He checked me out more than once since we met, so I'm allowed to do this at least once myself. Of course he wouldn't know unless I woke him and I wasn't planning on doing that in the slightest as I carefully leaned in to begin sniffing his neck.

He had a very soft smell to him. Nothing bad. If my nose was right I think I was just smelling his deodorant. I didn't expect him to be stinky by any sense of the word. Rabbits like him tend to be the cleanest species around. So I wasn't shocked to see he smelled good.

Taking my nose away from him, my mind began to wonder about his more physical being. I never pictured myself being interested in a rabbit, but the idea of it was fun to me for some reason. I couldn't picture him being the dominant one in that sense, but I bet he had his fantasies. Regardless I was curious though and asked myself if I seriously planned on doing anything sexual with him and again I wasn't against it. This wasn't like what happened between Rosco and I. Or even Cora for that matter. With them I was aiming to get something out of it by offering my body. With Jari? It wasn't like that. However I wasn't gonna just go for it or offer him a good time. I'd like him to make a move. After all I have a good time just fucking around with him. Sooner or later he'll find his balls.

Giving him a smile, I gently pulled him back with me till we were laying side by side. I made sure he rested on a pillow before I went back to daydreaming. Maybe after twenty or so more minutes he began to wake back up. Once he did he asked me in disbelief.

"Did I really just do that?"

I just nodded my head as he took notice of how close we were. Very slowly he moved a few inches away before asking me.

"How long?"

"Twenty minutes?" I replied, unsure of the exact number.

Wiping his eyes and stretching his arms out, Jari asked me next.

"You happy now? I told you I'd fall asleep."

Giving him another quick laugh I replied.

"I didn't think you'd just pass out in under a minute. I figured I'd have to work at it."

He seemed a little groggy and with it came a small groan. I just continued to smile and wait and before I knew it he gave me a gentle grin back to wonder.

"So what did you pick?"

"I don't know." I replied as I was unsure of the movie. Very gently he took the remote and popped up the description. After a quick read he hit play and proceeded to lay back on the pillow with me. I took notice as he leaned his head in my direction and with his ears rubbing near my chin I sat up as much as I could and wrapped an arm around his back. Almost instantly Jari widened his eyes and looked back at me to mumble.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to….?"

"You're fine. Just shut up and relax."

"Okay?" He replied with uncertainty as I used some of my strength to force him to back up into my body. Once I had him on my chest, I noticed his ears got back under my chin. This time he did his part by taking notice of his own body and very quickly he put them down. Neither of us said a word. We just laughed about it and refocused on the movie. Hopefully this will be good. I thought to myself as I felt him adjust his small frame.

Jari's POV, Two hours later.

I never felt so at peace. I was so happy that she was okay with this kind of interaction. I fully expected Sam to fight me on it, but no, she embraced it and me. Nothing more happened though. I was just using her as a body pillow and once the movie came to an end I checked my phone to see my sister texting me. I stared right at her first message because it was all in caps.

"SHOW ME HER!"

She was furious from last night. She thought she would see what Sam looked like after she ordered me to take a picture of us together to show her, but I made another excuse and kept this hidden from her. I was still worried about how she was going to react once she found out. I don't know what I would do if she went off in the other direction after finding out Sam was a wolf.

"Jari?" I heard Sam whisper.

Looking back at her I replied.

"Yeah?"

Nudging towards my phone she wondered.

"How come you didn't show her the picture we took yesterday?"

Even Sam knew I was hiding something, so I just came forward and gave her my reason as to why.

"I'm scared."

"Why?" She asked next rightly so as I put my phone on my lap to reply.

"Because my sister is a nut. She's always putting herself in the middle of my emotions and I can't bear to imagine what she would say if she knew you….?" I forced myself to stop. Sam however knew what I was going to say and questioned.

"If she knew I was a wolf?"

I nodded. Sam didn't seem displaced by it or anything; she just asked me back.

"Does she not like wolves or something?"

Now shaking my head I replied.

"It's not like that. I don't think she cares one way or the other. It's just….?" I felt weird saying it, but the look Sam was giving me was enough to make me just spit it out.

"I like you. Okay? That's one thing I'm not hiding and I'm not afraid of that. It's just Lola I think expects me to stay within our species. I don't know how she'll react if she finds out I have feelings for a wolf who is twice my size."

Sam was quiet. Giving her a sad look I mumbled.

"But I guess that goes for my whole family."

My eyes focused on my hands as I began to fiddle with them out of habit. I never handled my feelings well and that only got worse when Sam suggested.

"Well there is only one way to find out. How about we go see them?"

My head shot up so fast to question her.

"What?"

"I said how about we go see them? You don't know how they'll react and you never will if you keep pushing it off."

"But… but…?" Cutting me off, Sam added.

"Do you really think your family is gonna outcast you if they see you with a wolf? I highly doubt that. Just take a chance and I promise everything will be fine. Your sister doesn't sound like the type of girl who'll just rip your throat out. So come on."

"Are you serious?" I asked as I could literally feel my heart beating out of my chest. Grabbing me by the arm she replied.

"I am. Now come on. You're driving."

"Sam!?" I shouted as she yanked me off the bed.

"Don't Sam me. You'll be fine. Trust me."

I had no words to fight her with. She just basically forced me to the car and once we were on the road she said to me happily.

"It's gonna be fine. Trust yourself a little."

"That's easy for you to say." I replied back as she fixed her hair. My eyes watched as she put her hat back on after she was done. From there she asked me.

"How many siblings do you have?"

"Two. Lola and my brother Jake. Lola is the oldest. Just by a year, but my brother Jake is just a baby. He's almost six months old."

"Why did your parents wait so long to have another kid?" She asked as I shook my head to reply.

"I'm not too sure. My parents are crazy. It could be any number of reasons."

"Crazy?" The wolf questioned playfully as I nodded and replied.

"They're just high energy. All of us are. "

"More so than you sparky? Can't wait to see that." Sam chuckled as I blushed and begged her again.

"Stop calling me that."

She just laughed as we neared my house. It would only be a few more minutes till we got there and just as we started to see bigger houses Sam asked me curiously.

"You guys live here? What the fuck do your parents do to be making this kind of money?"

Now it was my turn to laugh a little. After I did, I replied to her concerns.

"My dad is a doctor in the ER. My mother works from home designing buildings and blueprints as an architect for the city."

"Jesus." She mumbled as I felt somewhat proud of who my parents were.

Once we got to my house, Sam looked out the window to widen her eyes. My parents had a huge three story house. It was all dark yellow bricks with nearly five acres of property to it. Outside you could see how pretty it all was. The house was amazing from here. You could see all the windows and even the solar panels my dad installed on the roof last winter. My mother also kept a pretty big garden out front. It was her pride and joy. Full of all types of flowers and vegetables she used for our meals. It was a proper setup in my mind.

Towards the back of the house was the pool house and that was my favorite place to be during the summer. Indoors and heated. I wonder if Sam swims?

Opening my door, I looked back at the wolf to ask her.

"How should we do this? Do you want to stay here and….?"

"Nope." She replied as she got out of the car.

"We're just gonna do this together. When we get where we need to be you just say what comes to mind and try not to lose your cool. You can do this."

"But…?"

"But nothing. Just introduce me and I can handle the rest." She urged as I nodded and took a deep breath.

"Okay. Fuck me, I'm not ready for this." I whispered to myself as I got out of the car to begin walking up the entryway to the front door. Sam kept up behind as I went into my pocket to pull out my keys. Once I had the one for the door, I took another breath and readied myself. Sam just smiled as I unlocked it and announced to the household.

"Hello? I'm home."

I couldn't see my mother, but I heard her just fine as she replied.

"So soon?! I thought you'd be gone till lunch Jari!"

I began to chase after her voice as Sam remained by the door. I looked back for a second to hear her say.

"I'll hang out here."

I nodded and found my mother in her private homemade gym. She was running on the treadmill with her earbuds down around her neck. She smiled wide as she saw me and questioned again while continuing to run.

"Why are you back so soon? I thought you went out to see Sam?"

"I did, but ahhh…..well I wanted to finally introduce her to you guys."

"She's here?" My mother questioned as she came to a stop to stare at me in disbelief.

Scratching at my neck, I replied with a red face.

"At the front door."

Jumping off the treadmill, my mother smacked me in my chest with her backhand.

"Ow!" I shouted as she grabbed a small white towel. Wiping her face down she whispered so as not to inform a nearby Sam.

"You could have fucking warned me. I don't want her seeing me like this."

"You look fine mom." I informed her as she chuckled and began to walk her way towards the hall. At the same time she ordered me.

"Shut up."

Sam's POV.

I took my care to remember some basic rules my mother taught me growing up. When entering someone's home you don't know, you need to make an impression that you're not an ordinary person. You're someone considerate and responsible and that started by taking your shoes off. Never drag your dirt into their home. It's common sense. So I was currently bent down unlacing my shoes. By the time I got them both off and put towards the side of the front door, I heard footsteps coming from where Jari went. When I looked up I found a rabbit matching his exact color coming right for me. Only she was at least a foot taller than Jari who followed behind. Had to be his mother. I thought to myself as I stood up straight to face her as she had a white towel draped over her neck. With a huge smile she stopped and questioned in a happy voice.

"Your…..a wolf? My god, your beautiful baby."

I was not expecting that kind of compliment and neither was her son who looked embarrassed to all hell as she got right in front of me to introduce herself.

"My name is Janice. I'm Jari's mother."

"Samantha." I replied as I offered her my hand.

Almost instantly she took it and her eyes for a moment took notice that my shoes were off and placed by the door. However she didn't question that. Instead she just said to me.

"I'm honestly shook. Here I was expecting the worst from my boy when I heard he had a girlfriend, but god am I so happy to be so wrong. You're honestly beautiful Samantha. Do you know that? You have to hear it a lot."

"I don't. Hahahaha, but thank you so much. It's a pleasure to finally meet you. Jari talks so highly about you."

"Does he now?" She questioned as she gave him a small smirk before wondering.

"I'm sorry for keeping this conversation here. Do you want a drink? Come with us to the kitchen. I'll get you something."

"Thank you." I replied as she guided Jari and I up a set of beautiful wooden stairs and into an open kitchen. One that made my dad's look like a cheap shithole. Everything was made of granite and dark auburn wood and from what I could see most of the silverware was crystal. How much did they spend on this alone? I asked myself as the taller rabbit asked me from the fridge.

"What do you want to drink Samantha? Water? Gatorade? Soda?"

"I'll take a Gatorade if you don't mind. Thank you."

"Jari?" She asked her son next as she pulled out a blue bottle for me.

"I'm good mom, but thank you."

"Suit yourself. Here you go hun." She said as she came back over to me to question while handing over the drink.

"How old are you?"

"Eighteen; going on nineteen. My birthday is in February."

"Really? My mother was born in February." Jari's mom stated as she then asked me.

"Did you have anything planned for it?"

"I can't really plan anything to be honest with you. I'm shipping out at the end of this coming week and I spend most of my time studying."

"Shipping out? Wait…..you're in the army?" She asked back in disbelief as I nodded my head happily to add.

"Yes ma'am. G.U.N Special Tasks."

"Special forces? That's….wow. Thank you for your service." His mom went on to say as I chuckled and replied.

"Don't thank me. I haven't really done anything yet."

Slapping Jari on the chest she questioned.

"Why didn't you tell me about her?"

Red in the face he replied.

"I was worried about how you would react. You know? I didn't think you'd approve."

"Why wouldn't I approve? Because she's a wolf? Jari that's beneath you." His mom informed him as she looked back at me to state.

"Please don't take any of this personally. My son has a theory it seems when it comes to his mother. I'm not racist. I don't care what you are. I'm just so happy to have finally met you."

"Me too." I laughed back as Jari seemed to have calmed down.

Taking a sip of her own drink, Janice asked me next.

"So what rank are you?"

"First Lieutenant." I replied as she nearly choked on her next sip.

"You're an officer?! My god Jari, your dad is gonna have a heart attack once he finds out."

"Where is dad by the way?" Jari asked her as I quickly took my hat off. Putting it in the back of my pants, I fixed my hair and waited as Janice replied.

"He went out shopping for dinner tonight. Should be home in a bit."

Jari nodded as his mom quickly clapped her hands together to shout.

"Actually! Now that I mentioned it I might as well ask you Samantha! Would you like to stay for dinner tonight? I'd love to have you and I'm sure Jari wouldn't mind one bit. You could meet my husband and the rest of the family. How does that sound to you?"

"That sounds really great. I'd love to stay if you'll have me."

"Are you okay with vegetarian food?" She then asked as I nodded my head and replied.

"Perfectly fine with it."

Giving me a happy smile Jari chimed in to ask.

"Where's Lola?"

"In the pool house last time I checked. You should go see her." Jari nodded and left me with his mother who came over to take my hand once more. Looking me right in my eyes she apologized.

"I'm sorry you had to see me in this shape. Go see his sister and get a feel for the rest of the house. It'll give me time to clean up. Okay?"

"Yes ma'am. You look fine by the way." I informed her back as she quickly let me go to shout out in happiness.

"You're just too nice my dear! Look after my son and if he gives you any lip you let him have it!"

Jari widened his eyes as his mom made her way out of the room at mach speed.

"Mom!" He proceeded to yell out as I just laughed to myself and said.

"She's really nice."

"She's insane." He whispered back as I wondered out loud.

"So you have a pool house I hear?"

"Yeah…..this way…..follow me."

Sensing he was a little stressed, I questioned.

"You okay there Sparky?"

The name made his mood only more apparent and that made me laugh again slightly as he ordered me.

"Shush."

I took that for what it was. He wasn't serious and if he was it was cute.

His house was insane though. My dad had enough money to get a place like this back in Iraq, but instead he kept the same two story house he's had since he turned eighteen. It was just crazy seeing the difference this family had when compared to mine.

To get there we went downstairs and made our way through the back of his house. We passed what to me looked like a massive living room and I even forced myself to stop for a moment to look into another room that had a tv the size a small movie theater would own plastered on the wall. Jari grabbed me by my hand to force me away and from there he guided me out back where I laid my eyes on another building. This one was only one level by the looks of things, but it was almost the size of my house in Iraq. They had a house for a fucking pool? I questioned as we neared the structure.

From the outside looking in, the whole building was made of glass. You could see right through it and inside I saw another rabbit taking a swim by herself. Jari looked petrified as he informed me.

"That's Lola."

Just do that same thing you did with your mom. I urged him as he was shaking. I had a feeling he wasn't going to move. So I decided to take the first step. The little rabbit in front of me panicked as I reached up and opened the door in front of him. Turning to grab me by my shirt, he asked in fear.

"What are you doing?!"

"Shush." I urged him back as I peeked in to say happily.

"Hello? Lola?"

The rabbit in the pool who looked just like Jari popped out from the water like a fresh fish to turn and face both of us by the entrance. In confusion she replied.

"Yes? Hello? Jari?"

I pushed Jari forward to get him to respond swiftly and that he did.

"Hey sis."

"What are you doing back? Whose this?"

"Lola? This is Sam." Jari's words made the rabbit in the pool go wide eyed. In disbelief she questioned.

"What? Really?"

I nodded with a smile and so did Jari who went on to say.

"We just saw mom and she's having her stay over for dinner. We figured since that won't be for a while I might as well introduce her to you."

Lola climbed out of the pool and instantly I got almost lost looking at her and Jari side by side. They looked almost like twins. The only thing that set them apart from one another was the boobs and red eyes she had over him. Coming right over to where we were; she looked right up at me and stated much like her mother.

"You're gorgeous."

Again I was forced to blush and with it I replied.

"Thank you."

Looking at her brother, she said to him happily.

"She's a wolf. Is that why you were being so shady about her? She's beautiful!"

Even Jari blushed now as I said back to her.

"You're really pretty too."

"Oh my god your eyes! I love them!" She told me back as she jumped up to get a better look at them.

"What happened to you? How'd you get the scars?"

"Fight." I replied as she ran around me to examine the rest of my body. Jari tried to stop her by grabbing her but he couldn't keep up as she asked me next.

"How was boot camp?"

"It was good." I replied as I kept my eyes on her. Once she was satisfied; she came back to my front side to ask her brother.

"What are you guys gonna do till dinner? You know we don't eat till like six."

"I don't know yet." He admitted which got her to ask me.

"Do you wanna swim with me?! The pool is heated!"

"Ahhhh….I don't think so. I don't have a swimsuit." I informed her as Jari jumped in to suggest.

"We can go to the mall and buy one? Could kill some time too. We can always come back and swim."

Part of me wanted to make a smart remark towards his suggestion. I think he just wanted the chance to see me in a swimsuit, but in a way I was more tempted to agree since I never had the chance to swim in a heated pool.

"That works for me! I love to swim! Oh my god! Sam, you should swim with me tonight! It's gonna be a full moon and when nights like that happen here; it's just so beautiful inside this place."

"Really?" I wondered as she nodded and begged me.

"Yes! Please!?"

Laughing at her energy I replied.

"Sure. Is the mall far from here Jari?"

Jari shook his head to reply.

"Nah. It's like a five minute drive."

Taking out my hat and putting it back on, I nodded and urged him while taking a step back.

"Well then let's go. I'd like to jump in this at least once."

Jari got excited as his sister shouted at me as I left the pool house.

"You're the best! Are you swimming too Jari!?"

"Yes! Tell mom we'll be back!" He replied as he ran after me. With the rabbit coming back to my side, he whispered to me as we went back into the house to grab my shoes.

"I'm so glad that went okay."

Wanting to play with him a little as we left the house, I ordered him playfully.

"Shut up Sparky. I know you just want to see me in a bikini."

"That's not….?!" Jari tried to say something but was cut off as I let out a fun laugh. He remained that way as we got back in his car.
