The State Verses Derek Morgan-Ch 7
Derek had been brought from his cell to one of the interrogation rooms so that he could see his lawyer, Hotch had gotten permission for Fran to see Derek for a few minutes before him and Mia would meet with him. When Derek looked up from his seat tears started streaming down his face when he saw his mother, she said, "baby boy, I'm here, I'm here", she looked at the officer and said, "I have permission to hug my son", the officer smiled and said, "go ahead mam".
Fran walked over to her son and pulled him into her arms, she wrapped her arms tight around him and said, "I'm here, I'm here baby", he started crying and saying over and over, "I didn't kill baby girl, I didn't kill baby girl". Fran said, "I know honey, I know and Hotch and Mia will prove that and we will get you out of here, okay?", he nodded his head and said, "I know momma, I know", the officer smiled as he excused himself from the room to give the mother and son some time alone.
Derek looked at her and said, "momma, I don't remember what happened, they say that I hurt baby girl, that I beat her but momma I swear I didn't, I could never hurt her, I love her momma, I love her more than anything else in this world. Fran said, "honey, I need you to listen to me", he sat there looking at her as she said, "we will find the person or persons that did this to her and we will make them pay and that I can promise you".
Meanwhile, out in the hall Hotch, Mia and Dave were talking about how to break the news about Penelope's condition to him along with the results of his blood work that was taken not long after he was arrested. Dave said, "when he finds out that kitten was raped and that they think he did it that'll kill him Aaron, you know that", Hotch nodded his head and said, "I know but we have to tell him, he has to be prepared to hear the results of her autopsy because he'll be hearing them in court".
Mia said, "he's been through so much already but just knowing that we have to wait 3 weeks before we can start his trial is gonna mean that we need to buckle down and do a good job of proving that Derek didn't do this". Hotch and Dave nodded their heads and Dave said, "and we need to find out who did and stop them before it's too late for Derek, Mia said, "that we do Dave, that we do so the sooner we start brainstorming the better".
Dave said, "well Em, JJ and Reid are back at the BAU looking into all of Morgan's old cases trying to put together a list of anybody that they think might go to great lengths to make Derek suffer like this". Hotch said, "it has to be somebody that knows the way to get to Derek to destroy Derek is to do something to Penelope because she is his only weakness", Dave said, "she always has been Aaron, she always has been".
Mia said, "now that we know he was drugged we need to get his body searched for syringe marks", Hotch said, "I'll go and talk to the officers and see if we can't get the usual positions checked like the bend of the arm, the wrists, the neck". Mia said, "and the sooner we can find the injection marks the better" as Hotch walked off leaving Dave and Mia alone for a few minutes while mother and son continued their talk.
Inside the room Fran said, "your sisters wanted me to tell you that they know that you didn't do this, that you could never ever hurt Penelope and that they love you so so much", he smiled for a second and said, "please tell them thank you for believing in me and that I love them both to", she said, "I will baby boy, I will", they sat holding hands and talking for a few more minutes until Hotch, Mia and a couple of officers walked into the room.
Fran stood up and told her son that she loved him and that she would be back to visit him, he smiled and said, "I love you to momma", she waved to her son before stepping out into the hall, closing the door behind her. She collapsed into Dave's arms and said, "who did this to my son, who Dave, who?", Dave held her tight and said, "we don't know yet Bella but we will find them I promise you we will find them and they will pay".
Derek looked at Mia and said, "why are they here?" motioning to the guards, Mia said, "they are here to do a body check for us", he said, "body check, body check for what?", Hotch said, "an injection mark", Derek looked at his friend and then at the officers who started checking his arms, wrists and neck.
One of the officers said, "I have 2 marks here on his arm", the other said, "i have 2 here on his neck as well", Mia said, "so he was injected 4 times, so he's been injected with enough drugs to knock out an elephant". Derek sat listening as Mia told him about his alcohol level being almost twice the legal limit, she then told him about the drugs they had found in his blood work, he said, "I swear to you that I don't use drugs".
Hotch said, "we know that Morgan", Derek said, "soooooo?", Mia said, "you were injected twice in the bend of your arm and twice to the neck so that means that they wanted you out for specific periods of time". Derek listened as Hotch said, "so what we need to prove is that while they had you unconscious it was them and not you that hurt Penelope", Derek said, "speaking of baby girl, did you find out her cause of death?", Mia and Hotch looked at each other and then at Derek.
Derek said, "was she, was she sexually assaulted?", Mia said, "her cause of death was from two causes, several blows to the back of the head and a broken neck", Derek shook his head and said, "baby girl I'm so sorry that they did that to you". Mia said, "and in reguards to your other question, yes, yes she was assaulted, the ME found semen in her vagina and in her rectum and the attack was forced".
Derek sat there with tears once again streaming down his face, not only had somebody beaten Penelope and broken her neck but they also raped her, he imagined what she'd gone through and the more he thought, the madder he was getting. He was pulled from his thoughts when Mia said, "don't worry Derek we will figure out who did this and then we will get you out of here", he sighed and nodded his head yes but the entire time he was wondering if Mia and Hotch would be able to keep their word because whoever was framing him were good, they were damn good.
