Guy Might surprised Rin Nohara with a Leaf Hurricane. Despite almost hitting her, thinking she is the enemy, he was a sight for sore eyes. He gracefully soared overhead, as she dropped to the grass below him. She clutched Moonmon, the psychic water droplet, in her arms, alongside Kakashi's and the additional barrier summoning device. The second one had appeared as it rained acid down on the Kiri Shinobi's heads.
"Rin! We have found you! How glorious!" Guy somehow managed to sound quite loud and excited, despite whispering.
"I'm so glad to see you." Tears of relief blurred her vision, further obscuring her view of the large blue wolf creature that is nudging her cheek with its cold nose. A long wet canine tongue slid up the center of her face. She sputtered, and wiped her face and eyes. Her eyes widened in response to the creature standing before her.
Large claws extended from its toes. Even larger claws obscured its front paws, protruding upwards. It shook its body, showering Rin with rain water from its blue fur. One of the devices in her hand beeped. She looked at it, and instantly knew. "You're Kakashi-kun's summon."
Despite being blinded by the leathery purple wings covering its eyes the creature still managed to gently bite onto the sleeve of the blue robes she was wearing and drag her forward. She stood and followed. Guy remained look-out as they backtracked to their hideout.
"W-what happened?" Rin whispered. "How'd Gabumon get so big?"
During their search, Kakashi had fallen unconscious from chakra exhaustion. The wolf summon and Guy hid Kakashi within the stump of a tree while they recovered. Looking at him, Rin was reminded that Kakashi was younger than them all. Moonmon hopped out of Rin's grasp, and floated over to Kakashi. Rin leaned over him as well.
"Kakashi's summon shifted, and became this creature. With his you-know-what, Kakashi ran out of chakra very quickly." Guy whispered as he petted the wolf.
The creature's frame rumbled under Guy's hand. It carefully lowered to the ground, keeping its head raised, looking out for danger. Its bat ears twitched to every noise, determining which direction the sound was coming from and from what within moments.
"You are quite the youthful creature." Guy continued.
The creature seemed to nod in thanks, and nudged Guy with his nose. Guy laughed.
"Chakra exhaustion?" Rin murmured to herself. She all but demanded one of his chakra pills, despite them not being formulated for someone of her size, nor her sex. She'd deal with the outcome later. She steeled herself, and got to work despite Guy protesting.
She looked Kakashi over. He was fine save for a few bruises and knicks from the battle, but his chakra was dangerously low. She asked Guy for another chakra pill, and gave it to Kakashi. All the while, Moonmon watched, learning.
She blinked in confusion, "Not helping?"
She made sure that Kakashi's headband was covering his…? Obito's? …His eye. It was his eye.
'Give him back his Digivice.' Moonmon spoke in her mind.
"His what?" Rin murmured, further confused.
"Who's what?" Guy almost instantly responded.
A large claw reached into the small space, perfectly snug between the bark of the tree and Rin. It knocked one of the devices from Rin's hand. It fell to the floor as the claw retreated. Rin picked it up and placed it on Kakashi's stomach. Moonmon floated up and hovered over the device.
'Your hands go here.'
Rin placed her hands over the digivice. She pushed her healing chakra into him. The light was so bright, it should have immediately given away their location in the rising darkness of the evening, but it didn't. The green and the shimmering sparkles remained confined to the inside of the tree.
Guy watched as Rin spent the moments after escaping her kidnappers and fleeing to safety, healing her teammate as though she hadn't just been through a traumatizing ordeal.
Backup Konoha Shinobi, alongside Minato, found Rin, Guy and Kakashi two days later. Guy carried Kakashi on his back, and Rin walked on her own two feet. Even Minato was impressed, but Rin and Guy both knew better. They would not be here without Sangloupmon, Kakashi's wolf, and Moonmon, Rin's water droplet. Both creatures hid in the shadows, acting as Team Seven's silent protectors.
