NOBODY POV
All of team Natsu had just arrived back in magnolia (except for Natsu who was at who knows where) and instantly went straight towards the guild hall it had taken them a day or two to get there but they made it safe and sound. They were currently standing in front of the guild doors by now everyone had awoken except for Happy and Carla. Gray put his hand out to open the huge wooden doors to enter but paused mid way and turned his head to look at Erza and Lucy who were standing next to him on the right then turned his head to face Wendy and went back and forth until he finally said what had been on his mind for awhile. "What do we do?" Gray exclaimed worried as to what the guild would say or the questions that would be asked when someone noticed that the resident fire dragon wasn't there. "What do you mean Gray'san?" Wendy questioned already having a good idea of what he was talking about as the same thing was on her mind as well but she had to make sure just in case to not cause anymore awkwardness to the situation at hand like on the way here. "I mean what do we tell everyone when we go inside after all they are gonna wonder where exactly he is. How do we expect to explain exactly what happened?" Gray said worrying about the same things Wendy was. "He's right we can't just go in there and not say anything can we?" Lucy announced after staying quiet since they had left the forest. Gray, Lucy and Wendy began debating about what to do and say when Erza finally spoke up in a voice that somehow let them know she was probably just as nervous about the situation. "I'll do the talking." Those were the only words she spoke before pushing open the guild doors causing all eyes from outside the doors and inside to focus on her as she stood there for a few seconds to calm down and release a breath she didn't know she was holding. The hall began welcoming the mages back with the usual "welcome back you 5!" And "How did the mission go?" They didn't respond to any of them and just kept walking with a sad look in their eyes. That is until Gajeel stepped out next to the master and surprisingly Gildarts who were both drinking at the bar where Mira served them drinks. The group had just arrived at the bar when Gajeel spoke up. "Where the hell is salamander? And why do ya'all smell funny?" Those simple words caused the whole guild to go completely quiet and look over at the 4 mages who walked In completely silent who they thought to be 5 of them. Lucy's face went stone cold and her eyes began to tear up like she was gonna sob her eyes out any second and she did. Lucy looked at Wendy and started having light tears roll down her face while holding her own fist so hard blood might've come out of the palm. Everyone else who was there to witness what had happened looked down at the floor looking gloomy and upset. Makarov looked at Gray and Lucy then concentrated his eyes on Erza deciding that she would be most fit to describe exactly what had happened to make them all look so depressed. "Explain" Was the only words he had to speak before Erza looked up at him and began to say everything.
"After we had finished the mission Zeref arrived" Erza stated hearing the gasp and whispering around the hall when she said the name. "He set us up the mission was fake after we managed to find out that he took out some weird kinda book and preformed a spell on Natsu that had him attack us. After he finally told him to stop he used his magic to put us to sleep and walked off with Natsu to who knows where!" Erza finished the last part of her story angrily thinking about what had transpired at that moment and how when she saw Zeref again she would make sure to rip him to shreds for taking the man she not only viewed as a friend and guild mate but as a younger brother.
"I see. And what exactly did this book look like?" Makarov spoke trying to hide his anger that one of his children had been taken. Even though Natsu was troublesome and would probably send him to an early grave he was still apart of fairy tail and that meant he was family no matter what.
"the book had black and what scales with a creepy red eye in the middle. It was pretty weird if you ask me." As soon as Gray had said this Gajeel's eyes widened and he spit out his drink. Looking at Gray. Gajeel gave him a look and somehow managed to stop choking and rasp out. "Your joking right?" "Nope." Gray replied. Gajeel looked at Levy. "I'll be right back." Levy ran over to the guild library hoping in her heart that it wasn't what she was thinking it was that Zeref had used. When she returned back into the main hall with a medium sized book located in her hands held to her chest. Levy sat the book down on a table near the bar. The books was dusty and the cover was made of a brown leather with a leather strap holding it together. All in all it looked to be about over 300 years old. "What's this?" Elfman said walking up to the table with Lisanna walking behind him. "Apparently it's called the book of eternity." Gajeel said looking proud that he had remembered the name. "How is this book gonna help us to find Natsu again?" Lucy said putting Carla and Happy down on the table to rest more. (I don't really have a good excuse as to what happened to them so just go along with it) "Well me and Gajeel came upon this book while doing so research and discovered this" Levy explained while skipping straight to the page that held the book that Gray had described. Everyone except Gajeel and Levy stared at the book dumbfounded and confused as they looked at the page and wondered why they couldn't understand what it said. "Um can any of you understand this?" Erza whispered. Everyone shook their head except for Levy who did a kinda sign and Gajeel who just nodded his head yes.
"The language is called draconic it's the ancient language of the dragons." "If so does that mean both you and Wendy can read draconic Gajeel?"All eyes were concentrated on Wendy as she replied. "I can only understand a little of it cause I was young and Grandeeney didn't get the chance to teach me much of it." They all focused on the book after that. "Well Gajeel work your magic." Gajeel groaned.
"The book doesn't really have a name but it is known throughout the ancient times so someone wrote it down. Anyways apparently it's supposed to seal the last dragon of the seven eclipse. The book states that he chooses a host to possess and control to either try to escape or because of a formed contract both have to be connected with the person who opened the book and can only possess a body by the persons will, the second is that the person can be weaker and the last option is that the host is weak minded and pretty much dumb. Though the possession can be broken with-" Gajeel stopped abruptly staring at the page."With what Gajeel don't just stop there!" Gildarts exclaimed. "I would but the last part is ripped out for some reason" Levy stared at Gajeel questioning to herself why the last of the page was gone. She apparently stared to long as Lucy lightly elbowed her shoulder and gave her a look that made her turn the color of Erza's hair. "You know what the weirdest part about this is?" Mira said thinking about the story Erza had told about what happened in the forest. "What?" Erza and Gray said at the same time. "Why would Zeref want anything to do with Natsu?" Lisanna finished almost like she had read her older sister's mind. The question floated around the room but no answer was given only an confused silence and people giving each other looks like they needed an answer and expected one of the people in the room to give them one. The answer still didn't come after a few minutes of silence but planning and discussion about how they should deal with everything that had just came to the guild's knowledge was the next subject.
"Okay so we now have another problem that we need to deal with" Laxus said walking down from the stairs leading up to the second floor with the rest of the thunder legion following suit. "And that problem is?" Erza stated now looking at a now all the way down the stairs Laxus standing next to his grandfather with the rest of his group. "Natsu is the problem. How do we expect to deal with him if he becomes an enemy to the guild or fiore?" Laxus responded looking seriously around the room that was now completely silent until his eyes fell on Gildarts and Makarov who also had a serious expression on their faces. Gildarts spoke in a voice that sent chills down everyone's spine. "That won't happen and if it does then I'll deal with it myself. Now everyone go home it's getting late and we have a lot of work to do in the morning." Everyone gathered up there stuff and walked out the only people left in the main hall were Gildarts, Makarov, Lucy, and Happy. Before Lucy walked out of the guild with Happy in her arms she turned to look at the 2 people left and asked a question that had been plugged in the front of her head since she heard what Gildarts said. "What happens if we're not able to save Natsu and you can't stop him?" Gildarts looked at Lucy with fear and hope in his eyes. "There will be a way Lucy I promise there always is." Lucy nodded her head and left through the guild doors with slight tears dripping down her face. When Lucy arrived home she flopped down on her bed with Happy and cried wishing everything would be alright but she knew it wouldn't after all life is never fair to those who are good and happy. Lucy cried her eyes out for hours until she fell asleep cuddled up with Happy tightly held in her arms.
MEANWHILE WITH ZEREF AND NATSU. SAME POV.
Natsu slowly opened his eyes blinking multiple times trying to adjust them to the darkened room he was held in. He looked around to try and find out where he was and tried to move his arms but stopped when he felt a cold metal chain attached to them. He turned his head to see he was chained to a gray wall with blackened stains and metal bars in front of him. "Where the hell am I?" Natsu whispered to himself. "Seems your awake. Good I have big plans and I'm gonna need you to help me achieve them." Natsu tilted his head up to see who was talking to him. When he looked up he came face to face with Zeref who had an amused smile on his face. "Where am I you bastard?!" Natsu demanded while pulling on his chains trying to escape. "That's no way to speak to your older brother now is it Natsu?" Zeref said looking him straight in the eyes while his smile turned into an evil smirk and Natsu's eyes widened in horror processing what he had just heard. "What the hell are you talking about?!" Natsu yelled. After that Zeref explained how Natsu was his brother and how he brought him back as a demon. Natsu's eyes stared at him in complete shock while Zeref's smirk just grew bigger than before. Natsu opened his mouth to speak but Zeref spoke before he could even muster a word. "Now to start" "Start what?" Natsu spoke confused. Zeref looked at him with a glint of amusement in his eye as he opened his magic storage and pulled out the book that had been used to control him. Natsu's eyes widened in horror as he stared at the book Zeref held in his arms. "I would use your book but Igneel did a to good of a job hiding it." Zeref said sarcastically as a dark magic appeared in his hand and flew towards Natsu like a vine who tried to turn his head away from the spell fearing what it could do or what would happen to fiore after it worked on him. Finally the dark magic got to close and Natsu started to feel tiredness and soon lost consciousness with his arms still chained to the wall and sitting on the floor. Once Natsu had lost his consciousness Zeref opened the book and the eye on the front dispersed from the cover and started floating above the pages. Zeref nodded his head and the eye flew straight at Natsu's chest and almost like it had ended up absorbed into his skin, like it disappeared from thin air.
Closing the book in his hands Zeref turned to walk out of the room but stopped when he felt a familiar presence near him. Turning his head he ended up staring straight at a short girl with long blonde hair and a white outfit. "Mavis" Zeref hissed out trying to sound upset and disgusted that she was in the room but his attempt fell short as Mavis saw right through his facade. "Nice to see you again Zeref." Mavis said walking towards him her aura rising each step she took until she was face to face with the dark mage himself inches away from his face. Mavis turned her head to look at the salmon haired boy she had come here to save but was shocked to see she was already to late at her attempt and turned her head back around again to glare straight at the dark mage who had done this. Before she could say a word Zeref spoke. "Where's the book Mavis?" "What makes you think I'll give it to you?" Mavis said glaring at Zeref as her aura rose further. "Because if you don't I'll rip your entire guild apart until I find it." Zeref spoke in a calm demeanor and grinned ear to ear thinking he had won but his grin soon faded as he saw Mavis smirk. "I don't think that's an option for you." Once Mavis spoke those words Zeref knew something was wrong and his suspicions were confirmed when she brought her hand up and started charging her magic in her palm to form a pure yellow orb that looked like completely pure light from the gates of heaven. Instead of attacking Zeref with the orb she quickly turned her arm and aimed it in Natsu's direction and a beam of light shot out hitting him in the chest. Zeref eyes widened as he saw what she did but they widened even more when she retracted her magic and instead of a pure orb of light in her hands it was a ball of fire one half red and the other black. Mavis turned around ready to disappear but before she did she spoke her final words to the man she loved in the past as she would not be seeing him again until the this was over. "You won't win." Once she spoke her words she was wrapped in a pure light and vanished away leaving Zeref to scrunch his fist and grind his teeth together so hard his jaw might have broke.
Taking a few breaths Zeref calmed down, fixed his hair and walked out of the room ready to deal with the other problems he had on display leaving Natsu chained to the wall to be lost in a void of darkness.
