HEY HO! I'm back once again. Sorry for the giant delay in getting this chapter out, school started and writing's been a tough task so I might not be consistent with updates. Not that I was consistent in the first place. But to make it up to you people here's a giant ass chapter to fill the void. Aight I've really got nothing to say up here other than My Hero Academia is not my work and this is just some fanfic to keep people busy. Now to the reviews which are two more reviews than I expected.

LinkonPark100: I don't plan on making it just a OC x OC harem. I may be adding people from class 1-A and 1-B too but hey, I guess we'll have to see.

Soggy Sock 117: I understand what you're saying, some fics do harems so bad that it becomes unreadable cause it's just yandere and tsundere stuff and the story doesn't really become captivating anymore. Your comment made me think about whether I want to add a harem or not as you can tell from the changed summary. I may be adding a harem or not or maybe playing around with how the romance is in this fic so I hope you stay around to see what romances pop up!

Aight that's the reviews out of way time to get to the fic!

The air was moist, surroundings plagued by a foul smell and there was all but one light. One light dangling and flickering above what seemed to be a small pool no deeper than five feet. The small pool housed a teen who was fully submerged into it and was unconscious.

All Shinjiro could hear was the muffled sounds of the water rushing in and out of his ears. He couldn't breathe, he couldn't talk, he couldn't see, and he couldn't move. He was as if he was dead but his brain was still registering whatever is happening in the outside world.

"The _ is done yes?" A voice spoke out. It was hard for Shinjiro to fully hear anything since he was still submerged.

"Everything is _ to plan" Another voice spoke out. It seemed like there were only two mysterious strangers standing over him due to how close they were. Shinjiro could hear one person talk from either side of him and if there were any more people, he would hear the closer strangers speak to them.

"You remember what to do when he wakes up. Make sure he _ and into U.A"

"What if he doesn't _"

"If he doesn't then…we'll have to give him a push" The first voice said before it all went quiet. It seemed like they had left or Shinjiro was losing his senses in all the possible places. He could no longer hear now and his brain was shutting off, all he could do now…was wait.

Beep! Beep! Beep!

Shinjiro reached for the alarm clock and slammed his hand down against it, which switched it off. He got up and rubbed his eyes, for a moment he freaked out after seeing the layout of his room but he relaxed after remembering all the events that had let up to this.

"Ah, so it was all real huh" He said to particularly no one. He still had a hard time believing that he was adopted, by a rodent of all people. What was more unbelievable was that he was going to be allowed into U.A. which was one of the most prestigious hero schools in the world. Did he even have a quirk? Why did Nezu want to even let him into the school?

Now wasn't the time for working the brain as he got up and decided to get ready for breakfast. He found that the bathroom was stocked with brand new toothbrushes and towels.

He got ready and opened the door, only to find a spectacular sight of Nezu balancing on one leg cooking breakfast in a frying pan. It didn't help that he was even using a step-stool to reach the countertop.

"Oh, Shinjiro-kun! Good morning!" Nezu said after noticing Shinjiro's presence.

"Good morning…" He said back before taking a seat at the dining table. He wondered why Nezu, the principal of U.A. was living in a small space in the school itself. Everything seemed so compact and how he had an extra room for Shinjiro.

"Now! Breakfast is served!" Nezu threw a set of bacon and eggs over his back and it landed on Shinjiro's plate as if it never was thrown in the first place. Shinjiro was now more wide awake than ever after seeing that.

"How did you-"

"Simple. I calculated the trajectory and the strength of how I threw the food" Nezu interjected. Shinjiro leaned back and picked up a fork. "Are you not going to eat? The food's going to go cold"

"I- I will. It's just hard to believe you made this" Shinjiro started to pick at the bacon and put it in his mouth. "It's really good too! Ow, that's hot"

Nezu laughed before sitting opposite of Shinjiro and brought out his tea from nowhere again. "So, how was sleep?"

"Oh so much better thank you. Sleeping on the hard concrete floor was a horrible idea. I kinda wish I found you earlier" Shinjiro scratched the back of his head. Sleeping on a comfy mattress after a long while felt like a new experience all over again. Before he kept being on cloud nine, Shinjiro decided to ask something. "You said you'll get me into U.A. question is why?"

"Why to test you of course." Nezu casually took a sip of his tea.

"W- What do you mean test me?"

"Tell me Shinjiro-kun, do you want to be a hero?"

"H- Huh? What brought this about?"

"Have you ever felt like you wanted to be a hero?"

Shinjiro pondered for a while on his answer. It was always Midoriya who encouraged him to be a hero but by his own accord? He never thought that he could and since he was quirkless, he would be made fun of for trying to become someone he could not. "I guess… if it means I'll be able to find out the person who did this to me then I'll gladly become one"

"Hmmm, that's understandable coming from you" Nezu said before climbing down from the chair and taking the finished plates to the sink.

"Hey, Nezu?"

"Hm?" He said while placing the plates in the sink.

"Don't you want to get revenge on the ones that made you into that?"

Nezu stopped in his tracks and slowly turned to Shinjiro with a very serious expression. He climbed down from his step-stool and faced Shinjiro. Nezu let out one huge sigh.

"I don't usually put on a serious expression often but…as much as I want to. I can't"

"Why not? I- I get that you're not the fighting type but why are you not at least detaining those who experimented on you?"

"Because as far as I know, they're dead." This revelation shocked Shinjiro.

"What do you mean they're dead?"

"I can't tell you now but yes…the humans who experimented on me are dead. Many times I did want to get revenge on them but ever since being recused BY humans, I've learned to accept the reality of life itself. Even though there can be malice and evil in those, there are those who strive to overcome it. In themselves… and in others."

Shinjiro blinked. "I don't know why but that sounded like a very cliche thing to say"

"I know right!" Nezu laughed. "But in all seriousness, I could not become an active hero but I could become someone who brings up new heroes. That's why I'm the principal of U.A. and I plan for you to become a hero too." He said getting off the chair and walked to the door. "Come, and I shall show you the best of what this school has to offer"

Nezu opened the door to reveal an elevator on the other side. Despite wanting to ask Nezu about it, Shinjiro just kept quiet and stepped in it with him. Nezu punched a few buttons on the side and it started going down.

"Not going to lie, I kinda forgot we're already in U.A. and why do you live in such a small place?"

"Because I'm small, my humble abode isn't meant to be holding humans I'll have you know. Don't worry, I'll request for a living space for you soon enough." The elevator doors soon opened with a ding which let to a giant office with a giant window facing the city of Musutafu. "Welcome to my office! Just wait here I need to call someone up so we can discuss your situation."

The office was just what you'd expect for a principal's office and it didn't capture Shinjiro as much as he wanted. It was still an honor for a quirkless to be let into the office either way and since Nezu told him to wait around for a while, he decided to take a quick look around for anything somewhat interesting. Only a few minutes had passed before Nezu had finished a phone call.

"Shinjiro-kun! Why don't I take you around the school for a bit?"

"I- I- really?"

"Of course! Why wouldn't I? Now follow me" Nezu said before leading Shinjiro out of the office and down a hall, the teen just brimming with excitement to see all the different kinds of places in U.A.

{Location Unknown}

A man dressed in all black arrived in an empty car park. It looked really old from the way the concrete showed cracks and the electricity currents powering the lights weren't that powerful from the way they flickered. A black sedan had come into sight and drove up to the man before one of the windows was rolled down. Inside was a middle aged man wearing a white coat but he had covered his face with a helmet.

"So I'm assuming the deed is done" The white-coated man said, his voice distorted presumably by the helmet. The man in black just nodded before he was given a black briefcase. The unseen man spoke up once again. "For so kindly cooperating with us, here's the antidote as promised. The president thanks you"

The man in black bowed before the car window rolled back up and the sedan drove off, soon moving out of sight. The man, who was now alone, set the briefcase down on the floor and popped off the safety lock. Opening it, he was presented with one single canister filled with blue liquid. He quickly scooped it up, took off the cap, and threw it to the side. Even though you couldn't see his face due to being covered by hats, glasses, and masks, you could tell he had a big grin. He brought down his mask and began chugging the liquid until it was no more.

The canister soon fell and smashed against the concrete floor, shattering it to pieces immediately. The man clutched his heart as he stumbled backward before dropping to his knees. His pupils dilated and his skin started to turn into a dark green, his hands and feet sprouting claws, and a tail broke out of his clothes. During this process the man was in terrible agony, screaming until his lungs gave way.

As the man was slowly changing forms, the black sedan from before pulled back into the car park. However, it parked itself in a corner where the man could not see it. The same white-coated man pulled out a phone and hit his latest contact, putting it to his ear as the phone rang. Soon the person on the other end picked up.

"We have set up the preparations necessary. Project Gomess is a go" He said before ending the call and stared at the abomination that was being created before his very eyes, a very slight smirk crept up the man's lips.

"And that! Completes our tour around U.A." Nezu declared after bringing Shinjiro to the teacher's lounge as the final stop in the tour. Shinjiro had stars all around him as he gleamed with excitement.

"THAT. WAS. AMAZING! I never knew you had so many different places just for different scenarios! Plus seeing all those different classes makes U.A look like a normal school"

"Of course we're a normal school, but the only difference is that we teach an extra subject. The subject of heroics" Nezu said before swinging the door open. On the other side stood a very skinny man wearing a simple business suit. He jumped in fright after seeing Shinjiro while the teen just stared at him.

"N- Nezu! W- who is that and why did you let him see me!" He shouted.

"Now, now All Might no need to get so worked up" Nezu replied.

"Wait…he's All Might?!"

"AHHHHHHHH"All Might then broke out in a panic and started comically screaming. "Nezu! What have you done!"

"Calm down Toshinori, he's the one I was talking about earlier."

"Oh" Toshinori stopped and sat back down on the couch, lifting a teacup to his lips.

"Is he always like this?" Shinjiro whispered after watching that entire scene go down.

"I don't know, I've never willingly shown someone his true identity before." Nezu whispered back.

"Wait…so does that mean he showed other people his true identity before?"

"I have not but a clue Shinjiro-kun" As they saw Toshinori trying to calm down.

A few minutes later, they were all sitting down with Shinjiro on a chair and Nezu and Toshinori on the couch.

"Now Shinjiro-kun. Kindly tell Toshinori what had happened a few days prior" Nezu stated. Shinjiro just shook his head and started to tell Toshinori everything that he had gone through. The number one hero's eyes widened at everything he had said and was soon in rapid thought. As soon as Shinjiro finished, Toshinori sunk back in his seat.

"I- I didn't know you had to go through all of that. If I had known sooner I could've-"

"No" Shinjiro got up from his seat and bowed. "I should be the one to thank you. For that time. If you hadn't had told me to speak my mind, then I wouldn't be here right now so… thank you!" He bowed once again. Toshinori just waved his hand.

"Don't worry about it young Shinjiro. I only did what I had to do" Shinjiro sat back down after hearing that. However, there was another thing on Toshinori's mind. "So you said no one that you knew, remembered that you ever existed?"

Shinjiro just nodded his head. "Then the person we're dealing with has a very strong quirk to be able to mass wipe memories of loved ones and friends." It was Nezu who spoke up. "If this is the case then trying to catch him will be hard if he keeps erasing our memories every time we try to find him"

"Moreover, we should try and keep this to ourselves. If word got out then we wouldn't be able to remember anything at all" Toshinori interjected. They all nodded in agreement, by keeping Shinjiro's origins a secret then it would be easier to track down the person responsible without getting their memory wiped.

"What about that monster you encountered?" Nezu asked.

Shinjiro sighed. "I don't know, everything still seems so foggy. Even though it's been a few days, my head just doesn't feel right. The only things I do remember are the things I already told you."

Toshinori put his hand to his chin. "Nezu…this doesn't seem like the work of a quirk. Sure there are some quirks that turn some users into a beast but I've never heard of a quirk that would fully transform someone into a monster."

Nezu took a sip of his tea. "It does look like it. There's still a possibility that it's from a quirk but maybe that monster underwent the same thing as you did Shinjiro-kun"

"Then how am I not a monster?"

"I cannot answer that, but I have a feeling we'll find out soon" Nezu said as he set down his cup, Toshinori saw his paw slightly shake out of the corner of his eye. "But for now" He said with a smile. "Let's find out what your quirk is"

"Ah yes!" Toshinori jumped up. "I'd loved to see what you can do young Shinjiro"

Shinjiro on the other hand was conflicted. "Do I even have a quirk? I mean I haven't been able to do anything super-like yet"

"That's what we're here to test out" Toshinori gave him a confident smile before leading Shinjiro out of the door. He turned to Nezu who was getting off the couch. "Nezu sir? Are you doing okay?"

"Don't worry about me Toshinori. I'll be fine" He gave the hero a heartwarming smile before walking out the door. Toshinori just sighed and followed, closing the door behind him. He saw Shinjiro and Nezu side by side and talking to each other, it seemed like they enjoyed each other's company.

"Heh, they really do look like father and son" Toshinori joked to himself.

"All Might! You're lagging behind, is that how the number one hero really is?" Shinjiro said.

"The kid's got no restraints either!" Toshinori sweatdropped. "Ah, I'm coming!"

They soon reached Gym Gamma which was an indoor gym to improve people's quirks. The main stage was basically a rocky terrain with a couple of mountain-like rocks that went all the way up to the ceiling.

"I had Cementoss fix this for us a while ago. Feel free to use the gym to your heart's content" Nezu said while Shinjiro continued to awe at the sight.

"You mean Cementoss made all this? Just what you'd expect from a U.A teacher"

"Not only that but he's an advocate for modern literacy" Toshinori interjected. "But for now, let's give it our all!" He said while turning into his buff form. Shinjiro internally fanboyed at the sight of seeing the number one hero but tried to keep his composure.

"Now Toshinori, please don't go crazy and destroy the gym. Cementoss would most likely throw a fit" Nezu stated.

"Oh right… I'll keep that in mind" All Might rubbed the back of his head. "Now young Shinjiro, let me see your power!"

"Uh yeah…how exactly?" Shinjiro deadpanned. All Might pondered for a second before lifting his finger up.

"You have the feel the energy coursing throughout you. Then when you feel it build up inside of you, let it all loose in one shot!" All Might brought his fist up and swung it at a boulder, smashing it instantly. He expected Shinjiro to react more but he expectedly put on a deadpan look.

"What kind of advice is that?" As one comedic arrow pierced All Might. "Is that the advice you give to everyone?" Another arrow pierced. "You saying all that makes you sound like a brute" A third arrow had pierced him and sent him into a corner with a single spotlight on him. Shinjiro heard him mumbling things to himself, presumably saying "You don't have to be so rude you know"

Shinjiro just sweatdropped at the sight while Nezu laughed. "Hahah, oh Shinjiro-kun you're good at this"

"DON'T ENCOURAGE HIM" All Might yelled.

Shinjiro stood facing towards the stone pillars and closed his eyes. He slowed his breathing until he could feel the still air around him. He felt the energy flow through his body as he drowned the sounds around him and focused on a single spot. He brought his hands to his right side and mimicked holding an energy ball.

"KAME…HAME… HAAA!" Shinjiro thrust his hands forward…only for nothing to happen. He swore he heard crickets cricketing outside and turned his head back towards the two teachers who just stared at him. "Ah…um, hehe. I guess All Might's advice didn't work?"

"Maybe your quirk isn't battle oriented but more of a utility quirk instead" Nezu said. Surprisingly both the teachers disregarded Shinjiro's random act he had just done and continued to go on. They continued to tell Shinjiro to do things that would potentially awaken the quirk that laid dormant inside of him but nothing was working. After about an hour of testing, Shinjiro leaned against a wall and slid down it, groaning as he did.

"Hmm, it seems like you're a late bloomer in activating your quirk" Toshinori said, who had reverted into his true form not long ago.

"Or it's maybe because I don't have a quirk at all" Shinjiro dejectedly said.

"Don't say that young Shinjiro, your quirk will bound to appear sooner or later" Shinjiro just sighed. Even if the teen had been part of an experiment, it seemed as nothing has changed at all. He was still the same Shinjiro as before, normal and quirkless as always. Toshinori noticed this and bent down until he and Shinjiro were at eye level.

"Listen here young Shinjiro. I used to have people come up to me and ask if they could become heroes too. Most of them were quirkless and inspired by me but…I always told them that they couldn't unless they had a quirk. That was the mindset I had all these years. Until I met a special someone who, despite being a cry baby and had no quirk, decided to brave those odds to do something heroic. Even if it would have gotten him killed, he wanted to save someone and that's what some people don't have. It's the spirit that fuels the person's desire to save someone and that's what propels them forward" Toshinori said putting a hand on Shinjiro's shoulder. "So don't feel down about not having a quirk. Because you too…can become a hero"

Shinjiro looked up at him and saw Toshinori reaching his hand to him. He reached out and grabbed his hand before being pulled up as the hero gave him a big smile. Shinjiro reciprocated by giving him a small smile of his own.

"Ah it seems you two are getting along well" Nezu was leaning in a doorway once again bringing out tea from absolutely nowhere.

"N- Nezu! How long have you been standing there?" Toshinori jumped from the sudden intrusion.

"Long enough" Was all the mouse said back. Nezu had left a while ago to take care of a few things in his office. "The work of a principal is never-ending but hey! I enjoy it. So how's the progress looking like?"

"Well…we haven't been making much progress" Toshinori said back.

"But I think we're getting closer!" Shinjiro interjected. "If I try hard enough then I'm sure I'll get my quirk in no time!"

"Young Shinjiro looking at you, you're just like young Midoriya. Now I get why he said they were best friends before the incident" Toshinori thought, smiling as Shinjiro was talking to Nezu. The teen was also trying to not be disheartened for not having a quirk, having some faith that he does in fact have a power inside of him. His thoughts were cut short by a buzz in his pocket. He pulled it out for it to be a call from Detective Tsukauchi before pressing answer and putting the phone to his ear.

"All Might! We need your help!" There were screams and explosions in the background of the call.

"Tsukauchi what's wrong!"

"There's something rampaging near the general hospital! There are some pro heroes here but they can't do a thing to it!"

"I'm on my way" He hung up the phone and changed into his buff form.

"All Might? What's wrong?" Shinjiro asked.

"Trouble at the hospital" Was all he said before jumping through the roof and over to the site of trouble. Shinjiro covering his head while Nezu brought out an umbrella to block the falling debris.

"Ah well…looks like Cementoss will be going crazy once he sees this mess" Nezu was relatively calm after seeing the hero jump through the roof and having metal and glass falling on top of them right now.

However, Shinjiro felt a sudden urge to run after the number one hero like he was going to miss something or see something he wouldn't regret. He took off from the gym leaving Nezu behind, the mouse shouting something but he was now too far away to hear it. He wanted to stop but his legs kept running as if he was running for his life again, the desperate need to go somewhere. His mind didn't know where he was running to but he felt like he already knew where he was going. The same sense of invitation he had back then, it was inviting him once again and for one more ride with the devil.

It felt as if no time had pass when Shinjiro reached the site. He widened his eyes at the sight of pure destruction. Cars were flipped and on fire, tons of concrete debris everywhere, and the roads were cracked. The hospital didn't fare much better, parts of the building looked like they had chunks pulled out and cracks went all the way up to the top due to the amount of fighting that had occurred. There were about a dozen pro heroes injured and sprawled across the battlefield, and more on stretchers being taken swiftly away.

"How the hell did one person do all this?" Shinjiro wondered but his thoughts were cut short by a body flying pass him and slamming into a nearby car, creating a large dent while pieces of glass flew through the air.

"Oi! Are you okay!" Shinjiro ran up to the pro hero and lifted a hand to help but the hero pushed it away.

"Get out of here kid *cough* This isn't a place *cough* for you to be in" The hero coughed up, he was in a real bad state with blood trickling down his face and his limbs looked like they were crushed. He tried to get up but his injuries weighted him down, Shinjiro put the hero's arm over him and tried to help him. "*cough* What are you doing? *cough*"

"This is the best I can do for you, it'd be better if no one died during this" Shinjiro dragged the hero to the closest ambulance that wasn't either wrecked or on fire. "Here take him, he's badly hurt so be careful"

A loud sound rocked the area as Shinjiro turned around, what he saw sent him into a state of shock. It was All Might, he wasn't hurt by the looks of it but just tired as he was panting quite hard. But it was the thing in front of him that triggered something in the teen. The dark-green scales, the sharpest claws, the long rugged tail it dragged, and most importantly, the blood-shot eyes it had. There was no mistaking that it was the same monster that had cornered and chased Shinjiro that day. This time, however, it was bigger and more ferocious, looking like it was completely out for blood.

His head started to hurt again but this time was even more painful than the others. Shinjiro clutched his head and went to the floor, his consciousness fading in and out as he winced. Visions flashed through his head again, all recalling the events once again in fragments. However, there was something different with this set of memories.

He was now back in the same hallway he was in before but everything was covered in pitch-black darkness. All expect the door still making its presence known, covered in a devilish red this time. Steps forward made him sink again but he was exceptionally fast in wading through the black waters. He had managed to make his way to the door and possible freedom from this so-called nightmare was on the other side, all he had to do was open it. Wait…open it? There wasn't a handle so he tried pushing the door but it wouldn't budge. Suddenly hands shot up from the depths and grabbed Shinjiro and began pulling him back.

"N- No! I'm so close! All I need to do is open ittt" He reached for the door but since it didn't have anything to hold onto, he just kept getting pulled back. He struggled with the shadowy hands pulling him and more would keep springing out and grabbing him. It started to pull him under with more hands slowly obscuring his vision but Shinjiro was a feisty one, trying to pry the hands off him. It was slowly working but he couldn't keep up with the number of hands grabbing him and he was slowly losing his strength to stay above the water. "Not again! I'm right there and I can feel it"

He was on the brink of success but it was slowly slipping out of his reach. He was going to give up until he heard voices in his head. "You can beat your shadows. You can escape." The voices echoed in his head. "If I can't beat my inner demons, then…I won't be able to beat… the piece of shit…who did this to me!"

Shinjiro mustered enough strength to break free of some of the hands holding him. He stepped forward again and again, with one hand free he reached for the door. With one single push, the door creaked open, light flooding from it and destroying the chains that were holding him down. He was free to move again, he looked back to see the darkness retreat from the light. Looking forward he saw light flood into his eyes which impaired his vision but that didn't stop him from walking forward. With each step, the light started to engulf him and soon he was fully in the light.

Opening his eyes, he saw that he was in a new place. A place he had never seen nor dreamed about before. It seemed oddly comforting despite looking like a mad scientist's lair, with gadgets and tables full of equipment.

"Welcome Shinjiro" A voice spoke out, it was smooth and soft. He couldn't see the person at all but from the way, the voice echoed throughout the lab meant that the mysterious person was there with him. Shinjiro wanted to speak but something held him back, was it telling him to listen? Or was it telling him to not answer to someone he didn't know?

"I know you can't speak right now. But there's something very important I need to tell you" The voice carried on, seeming to be aware of what's currently playing out. "You were taken for one specific purpose"

"But why me!" He wanted to desperately shout out but it was to no avail. He gritted his teeth and formed fists as he listened.

"Oh, you were always a special one. So different yet so similar to everyone else"

"What the hell does he mean by that"

"Here, let me show you" The voice said before the lab lit up, showing tons and tons of capsules filled with a clear liquid. "This was what you were put in. Don't expect me to tell you everything and since this is your mind, we are only limited to so much information. But I'll tell you what you want to know. You were made to be a hero"

Shinjiro's eyes widened, he was made to be a hero? What did that even mean? It didn't matter to the voice who had kept a single tone but to the teen, this was either good or bad news. How was he even going to be a hero with no quirk?

"This is all I am permitted to tell you. I bid you goodbye for now" The voice faded into nothingness leaving Shinjiro all alone again. He tried to take it in but no matter how you look at it, being chosen to be made a hero seems very sketchy.

"Ugh what am I doing? I'm still in the middle of a battlefield idiot. Time to wake up now…aaaanytime now. I guess I still don't have any control of my mind. Damn it! Wake up!"

He opened his eyes and took a large breathe in before seeing All Might still standing with his fists to his chest, ready to fight. "So this time, no time passed at all?" He snapped out of his thoughts. "All Might!"

All Might looked behind him and was shocked to see Shinjiro standing in the middle of a battle and not looking scared at all. "Young Shinjiro! What are you doing here? Hurry and get out of here!"

"I know but- Watch out!"

The monster had run-up to All Might and swung a fist at him. The hero countered with a fist of his own and it collided with the monster's fist, creating a shockwave that slightly pushed Shinjiro back. "How strong is this thing?" Shinjiro thought. "All Might! That's the thing that was after me the other day!"

"N- Nani?!" The hero was momentarily caught off guard for the monster to raise his other fist and slammed it into him, sending him into the concrete below. He recovered almost instantly and gave the monster an uppercut but that just made it stumble back a few steps. With All Might's power, it would have sent a normal human into the stratosphere but the monster looked like it didn't care about the punch.

All Might lunged forward as the monster was trying to regain its footing. "SMASH!" His fist connected with the monster's stomach and the backlash sent the monster flying into a wall. "Did that get it?"

"RRRRRROAAARRRRRRRRRRR" The monster came out of the rubble seemingly unscathed, looking even more pissed as it's bloodshot eyes locked onto the number one hero. It snarled, showing its long fangs which were as sharp as short daggers, and readying it for combat. It dragged its feet across the dirt as if it was revving up like a car before charging straight at All Might.

The hero, however, was ready and wound up a punch. When the monster got close to him, All Might threw a right hook and caught the monster in-between his biceps and slammed it down onto the pavement. The monster while initially hurt by the sudden impact, sunk his fangs into the hero's arm and red began to show.

"Arghhhh!" He screamed in pain before punching the monster with his left arm but it wouldn't budge. He kept punching it over and over again until it finally dislodged itself from the hero. All Might jumped back and held a hand over his bleeding arm as the monster continued to snarl at him, its fangs shined with killing intent.

"All Might!"

"Don't come any closer young Shinjiro!" As much as he wanted to help, if the number one hero is having trouble with something as strong as that monster then he wouldn't be able to do anything with no quirk. "Come on Shinjiro think! What can you do?" But his thoughts were cut off by crying. He looked to see where the crying was coming from, it was a young girl trapped underneath rubble while more rubble threatened to fall from the damaged parts of the hospital. His instincts kicked in, Shinjiro had started running towards the little girl. Reaching her, he started to try and lift the rubble on her.

"Come on! Move!" But the piece of stone the girl was under was too heavy to lift for a mere human like him. But he didn't care, a life was in danger and that was all he cared about. He didn't want anyone to suffer of something he had inadvertently caused, the words "You were made to be a hero" rocked his mind. To him, it had meant the monster rampaging was his doing, the people involved was his doing, and no way in hell he was going to get another person killed for it.

"Onii-chan, I'm scared" The little girl's voice was shaky, it was clear she was in pain and scared. All the more of a reason for Shinjiro to hurry and time was running out for both of them. The cracked stone above them was beginning to fall and each time it shifted, small stones and dust would fall staining the clothes Shinjiro was wearing.

"Everything's going to be okay…ok? So just stay strong for me, I'll get you out of here" The girl nodded, she trusted him, and now it was time for Shinjiro to trust himself. "Come on Shinjiro, you can do this. All you need to do is pry this crap off her"

Then something slammed into the building causing the structure to lose strength and the rubble above them to start falling. All Might climbed out of the debris before seeing the rubble start to fall.

"Young Shinjiro!" All Might tried with all his might to try and move but the injuries he had sustained during the fight wouldn't allow him too. He could only stare as someone he knew was about to die right before his eyes.

Time slowed as the giant rock started to fall towards Shinjiro, his life began to flash before his eyes. Was he going to die here? "Stop screwing with me, life! I'll only die…when I say I die!" Then the rubble hit the floor.

"YOUNG SHINJIRO!"

"I thought I said….I'm…not…DYING TODAY!" Before the same piece of rock went flying and landing in an empty are. Out of the dust stood Shinjiro unharmed and had just sweat drenched all over him. He heavily panted as he grabbed the rock, trapping the girl, with both hands, and lifted it off the ground with no problem before throwing it at the monster who used its tail to destroy the rock. All Might stared with shock before he started smoking.

"All Might" Shinjiro spoke with a calm voice that housed anger. "Shouldn't you be getting to pummelling that thing?"

The hero just looked at the monster before charging at the monster with one last attack. He empowered his fist with One for All's power and brought his fist forwards.

"SSSMMMMAAAAASSSHHH!" Before slamming his fist into the monster and sending it backwards, its chest starting to burn up from the punch. As the monster kept flying back it's green scales turned to red, it's blood-shot eyes losing its color, and heat was starting to come out of its body. As it slammed into a wall the monster combusted, creating an explosion that sent cars and debris flying.

Shinjiro widened his eyes as he shielded the young girl with his body. He didn't feel anything hit him on his back so he turned around to check only to see All Might standing in front of him, heavily panting.

"All Might" Shinjiro said. All Might, however, said nothing before leaping away and out of sight. The teen sighed. "I guess having a time limit is not all that great after all huh"

"Elle!" Shinjiro turned to see a woman running over, presumably the girl's mother, along with a couple of paramedics running over to them.

"Mama!" The girl ran up to her mom and they embraced each other, the mom crying tears of joy at her daughter's safety. "Mama! Onii-chan saved me!"

Her mom gave her a smile before looking at Shinjiro and bowing. "You saved my daughter's life, thank you"

"Don't worry about it miss, I only did what I had to do" Shinjiro smiled in return.

"Onii-chan! Thank you!" The girl waved as they were taken away by paramedics. Shinjiro waved back before taking a huge breath in and exhaling.

"Oh right. I forgot to tell Nezu that I was even coming here. Ah crap, he's gonna be at my neck for this one" He joked to himself before dismissing a medic who wanted to treat his injuries. "I'm not that badly hurt, there are few other people around here that need more attention than me" He said before starting the long walk back to U.A, stretching his limbs as he walked not noticing a black sedan drive away.

A cellphone was put onto speed dial and it didn't take long before the person on the other side answered. "It's me. Project Gomess was a success, sending you the results now….Of course, I did, it was the right idea to implant a self destruct module in it." Before hanging up the phone and opening up a laptop, which showed blueprints and statistics on what seemed to look like a robot.

"And that! Is exactly why you don't go charging in every time you see something going on!" Nezu had just finished a long explanation about safety and his own concern to Shinjiro and Toshinori, who were both on medical beds and bandaged. Shinjiro had taken a long walk back to U.A and immediately fell asleep as soon as Nezu started his long rant. Nezu leaned back in his chair and sighed. "You two are lucky today's a Sunday and Recovery Girl isn't in. I was really worried about you Shinjiro when you ran off"

Shinjiro perked up after hearing his name being called, and let out a yawn. "S- sorry, today's been…interesting"

"Well, even so, it's good to see you alive and well" Nezu replied, he looked very relieved which was something Toshinori picked up instantly. He walked over and used a stool to give him a height boost to ruffle Shinjiro's hair.

"He really cares for him like a dad too" He thought with a slight chuckle. "Young Shinjiro" He started as Shinjiro looked at him. "What you did today was very brave, U.A would be glad to have a person like you"

Shinjiro just gave him a smile but spoke in a serious tone. "I'm only in it so I can make sure the person who did this to me pays. I don't plan on killing him like a vigilante would if you were wondering"

Toshinori seemed to relax at what Shinjiro said, after all, a student killing someone would be pretty bad and have longing consequences. But still, he couldn't help but feel conflicted at Shinjiro's resolve. What would happen if his captor was locked up, what would he do then? What would happen if something went wrong? Regret would soon fill minds and it was something Toshinori wouldn't want.

"Then what would you do if the person you're after is caught?" Nezu seemed to read Toshinori's mind. Shinjiro kept a calm demeanor, if he did flinch then he was hiding it really well. He seemed to ponder for a response before lifting up a finger.

"Then I would go back to a normal life" He simply stated, which seemed to slightly shock Toshinori while Nezu just listened. "All I ever wanted was a simple, boring, normal life. So once my captor has been brought to justice, I'm quitting U.A and going my own way"

"I can't really force you to stay and become a hero Shinjiro-kun. So…I respect your choice" Nezu had given his answer, it wouldn't be fair for him to force Shinjiro to stay and become a hero against his wishes.

"A-Are you sure you don't want to become a hero?" Toshinori interjected.

"I'm sure, unless there's some kind of reason for me to become one then I guess I would" Shinjiro gave a short and sweet answer. It seemed to sit well with Toshinori, seeing as becoming a hero wasn't Shinjiro's strong suit to begin with. Toshinori lied back in his bed, his body aching with pain from the fight.

"Ow, ow, ow, ahhh that hurts" He complained. "Ah I'm just going to take a nap right here, wake me up when it's morning"

"Is he always like that?" Shinjiro deadpanned.

"If he wants to be" Nezu replied. The room went silent as Shinjiro leaned back in his bed and Nezu drinking his tea.

"Hey, Nezu…do you ever miss your family?" Shinjiro spoke, not getting up from his bed.

"Well, even if I do have family I don't know them and I doubt they'll be able to recognize me"

"I guess that's true… do you wish you could have done more with them?"

"I guess so. I can't really say much but the family I have now is good enough for me"

Shinjiro gave a soft smile. "I wish mom wouldn't be so dense all the time, I wish my dad would stop looking at newspapers and ridiculing about it to no one. I wish Daichi would stop using his inventions to terrorize us, wish Ayano would start being nice to me for once, and for Hina to stop being so nice to a person like me. And I wish…for me to have cherished them more" He put his arm over his eyes.

Nezu leaned back in his chair. "Remember when I said, there's no point reminiscing in the past? I guess sometimes it's good to reminisce so that you can make better choices in the future. Plus, your family is still here and they aren't going anywhere soon so…you can see them anytime"

"I guess so." Shinjiro stayed in the same position before blurting something else out."Ah… what should I do? I don't know how to fight or anything, am I really going to be in U.A?" He seemed to be talking to himself but since Nezu was in the room, the mouse decided to answer the question for him.

"If you want, I can get Toshinori to teach you" Nezu knew that Shinjiro was purposely changing the subject to not end off on a bad note.

Shinjiro jerked upright. "You mean…I'm going to be taught by All Might?"

"Why not? He's already training his successor"

Shinjiro nodded before realizing what Nezu said. "Wait…successor?!"

"Right, he never told you. His power is called One for All and it's been passed down for generations. Since he's getting old he has to find a new person to wield his quirk."

"So…it's a superpower?"

"Nooo, it's a quirk"

"But, it's like those kinds of comic books where the protagonist gets a special power from someone. It's not anything like a quirk" Shinjiro countered.

"Oho? So you're saying this world has superpowers instead of quirks?"

"Yes that's exactly what I'm- wait… quirks are… superpowers, AH" He smacked himself on the forehead. "I've been played by the mouse again" He said before starting to sulk, a single spotlight shining down on him. Nezu just grinned and gave him a small pat on his shoulder.

"So Toshinori"

"Yes? Young Shinjiro?"

"Why exactly are we at the beach at 5 am in the morning?" Shinjiro asked groggily. He had been dug up by the hero who promised him a special day out with him. It turns out the hero was lying when he said a special day. Shinjiro rubbed his eyes. "I know we're here for some exercise so can't we get to it already?"

"Not yet, we're waiting for someone to get here first" Toshinori said.

"Really? Who?"

"OOOOI! All Might!" Came running a familiar green-haired teen, who was waving his hand in the air. Shinjiro widened his eyes as he connected the dots. The sight of his former best friend being All Might's successor and how he was surprisingly toned as Midoriya was wearing a simple shirt exposing his muscles, really shocked Shinjiro.

"Ah, Young Midoriya! Good morning!" Toshinori waved.

"Good morning All Might!" Midoriya said before Toshinori quickly covered his mouth with his hands.

"Shhhh! We don't want people knowing I'm All Might" Toshinori whispered with Midoriya shaking his head in agreement before Toshinori let go of Midoriya's mouth. "Now, we have a new student joining us. Young Shinjiro introduce yourself"

"I'm pretty sure you already did Toshinori" Shinjiro deadpanned, at least that's what it seemed like to Toshinori.

"Ah! Nice to meet you Shinjiro-san!" Midoriya bowed. Shinjiro just bowed back with Toshinori staring at the teen, worrying he'll feel down because Midoriya doesn't remember him. He decided to shake off his feelings and wanted to shake those feelings of Shinjiro too.

"Now! Let's get to running!" He said before taking off in the opposite direction.

"Ah, All Might wait!" Midoriya said before running after him. Shinjiro just looked at both of them start to run, before looking at the sun rising over the horizon. It was the sign of a new day and a new life for Shinjiro.
