Yo wassup boys and girls and welcome back to the best mess of all! I wanted to get this chapter out earlier but I struggled with how to handle Midoriya during these events. Hopefully, I've done well and made it passable to you MHA fans, and if not feel free to write up a death threat and send it to me.
Again, I don't wanna clog up the opening here so let's just get on with it!
*RIIIINNNGGGG*
The sound of an alarm clock cuts through the dead silence-
"No more deja vus!" Shinjiro slammed his hand on the alarm clock, subsequently turning it off. He hopped out of bed and ruffled his hair.
"Ugh, I can't believe it's already April. Time flies doesn't it? Or are time skips really real?"
Getting up from his bed, he opened the curtains to a bright and beautiful view. It would have been beautiful if a massive building didn't block his sight. But the sun was nice, reflecting off the windows of the building and into his eyes. He closed the curtain slightly annoyed.
"Why'd Nezu have to give me a bad apartment location," He sighed as he walked into the bathroom to get ready. "At least it ain't the cold, hard concrete"
Minutes later he walked out of the bathroom with the U.A student uniform on, looking clean as ever. Although he was not wearing the uniform properly with the buttons being undone so he was looking like he was wearing a jacket instead.
"So not only are you going to randomly time skipping my shower but criticize my outfit too?" Shinjiro blurted out to no one in particular. He let out another sigh and made his way out of his bedroom. He made himself a hearty breakfast, enough to last him until lunch that is. Slices of bacon sizzling and eggs being flipped, a dash of every single spice he had on the rack...maybe not everyone.
He poured the steaming food onto a plate and made his way to the living room couch, sat down and turned on the tv. It was the typical news broadcasts of events covering the weather and heroes apprehending villains, nothing interesting as Shinjiro was too busy focusing on his food to care.
"And in other news, a new kind of material was found on Mars. Thanks to a specialized space rover launched in secret, it has found and successfully brought back a new mystical ore that scientists are still unsure of what it is. For the time being, it is being labeled as spacium"
"Pfft, spacium. Why are scientists so bad at naming things sometimes," Shinjiro scoffed.
"Replace the a with an e. At least it'll sound somewhat better... I really need to get to school" He said before jumping out of his seat and grabbing his backpack.
"Aaaaand I forgot to pack. Brilliant," Shinjiro facepalmed.
Meanwhile over at Midoriya's house. There was a major difference between Midoriya and Shinjiro.
"Are you sure you have everything?"
"Yes I do!"
"Did you double-check?"
"Yup, double checked! Actually triple checked!"
"Are you sure-"
"I even made sure to get double the amount of items just in case I lose any!"
"Now I really need to go if I'm not going to be late!" Midoriya slipped on his signature red shoes as his mom was nervously checking to see if he's got all the items he needs to get through school.
"Izuku!" She called out.
He was already halfway down the hall until he turned back. "Yea?"
"Good luck baby. I love you" She said with small tears coming out of her eyes in admiration.
Midoriya just gave her the widest smile he could make before dashing away. "Love you too!"
He started running down the street with pure excitement and enjoyment. He had finally made it. Made it to the number one hero school and the academy of his dreams and he does not want to screw up by being late on the first day.
A sudden thought came to his head as he brought out his phone and speed-dialed Shinjiro. It barely got through the first ring tone and barely before he put the phone to his ear when Shinjiro picked up.
"HOW IS HE SO FAST?" He thought in shock.
"U- uh hey Midoriya! What's up?" Shinjiro stuttered.
"U- um, I'm actually on my way over to U.A right now! Are you over there yet? Then again you are close so you could take your time-" Midoriya said in between breaths.
"Uh yea! I am totally in the building right now and not busy trying to stuff things into my backpack!"
"Huh?! I thought I told you to pack last night to be extra ready for the first day," Midoriya said.
"Yes yes, calm down dad. I totally forgot since I was up watching combat guides. My parents may have taught me the mentality of being a hero but they never taught me how to be one," Shinjiro said as he recalled the immense mind training he had to go through to not be frightened of anything. (Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't)
"I have trouble finding it hard to believe you were taught the mentality of a hero," Midoriya roasted Shinjiro.
"Ow! I think you just killed me there with that roast," Shinjiro cried out. "But, don't worry. Oh, Nezu texted me so I gotta go meet him first before classes start, I'll see ya there!"
Midoriya laughed. "See you later!" He said before hanging up and continued on his run.
Shinjiro turned off his phone and ran out the door with a half-opened backpack, some of its contents spilling out on the way. It didn't take long for him to reach U.A and when he did he started pacing down the hall towards Nezu's office.
Other students had arrived early as their excitement knew no bounds, chatting with teachers and other students, and others roaming around the halls of the famous school.
He made his way to the principal's office soon enough and knocked.
"Who is it?" Replied a voice.
"It's me"
"Who's me"
Shinjiro rolled his eyes. "It's the boogeyman, who else?"
He heard Nezu let out a laugh inside. "Come on in"
Shinjiro made sure no one was watching and slid the door open. Walking in he saw Nezu taking a sip of tea out of his cup.
"He really seems to like that one tea cup huh," He thought before closing the door behind him.
"Good morning Shinjiro-kun! Glad to see you visiting me!" Nezu said cheerfully.
"Weren't you the one who called me though? Also don't call me that here!" Shinjiro exclaimed.
"Now, now where's the fun in that? Don't you love getting caught in public?"
"There are so many things wrong with that sentence," Shinjiro sighed as he sat down. "So...what'd you call me for?"
Nezu clapped his hands together. "Ah Shinjiro-kun, always cutting to the chase are we? Anyway, I assume you got the acceptance letter and my message?"
"Yea, although I don't think you needed to," Shinjiro said, dropping the letter on the table in front of him. He had gotten the letter the same time around Midoriya, Nezu stated that it "wouldn't raise any suspicions".
"I don't think anyone would mind or care about me not getting the letter"
"Sure but, you get the enjoyment of hearing my voice a second time~"
"Alright, alright. But, I'm assuming that's not all you called me for right?"
Nezu nodded. "That's right. As you heard, I'd like you to try to make new friends. Forging bonds is another important thing as a hero, can't be doing everything by yourself"
"I see...I'll try." Shinjiro said.
"Excellent! Now, I believe you can head on-"
"Why?"
"Hm?"
"I mean...all this. Everyone helping...why?" Shinjiro asked.
"What led you to this Shinjiro-kun?" Nezu questioned.
"I mean...why did you decide to help me that day? I've always been wondering what made you think of taking in...basically someone who doesn't exist?"
"I see..." Nezu put his elbows on the table and his paws together. His eyes drifted away from Shinjiro as he thought.
"Basically...you remind me of myself. How I was experimented on and not remembering anything. On top of that everyone who knew you, don't remember and in my case, there was no one I had. Being cold and harsh to everyone due to that experience is all too familiar. But, because I opened up to people and let them help me...is how I got to be here today. How a measly animal such as myself managed to live alongside humans. That's why I helped you, as others helped me... and I want you to forge a new path for your sake"
"I see...but you never once thought that I was lying? I could be some big bad wanting to infiltrate U.A. with a fake name and backstory"
Nezu focused his eyes back at Shinjiro. "I saw right through you didn't I? I could tell you weren't a bad person and if you were, you'd attack All Might as soon as he was weak. There were other times that you could but you never did"
Shinjiro nodded before thinking about something.
"Fake name..." He muttered. "Wait, what about my life? I mean if I virtually don't exist then I don't have and I.D. or birth certificate"
"Don't worry about that. I got it all covered"
"...You made up a fake backstory, didn't you?" Shinjiro deadpanned.
"Ohoho! Nothing of the sort!" Nezu let out a laugh. "I made a good 'fake 'alibi of your situation. I'm sure no one would really look into it"
"It's still a 'fake' alibi though..." Shinjiro muttered.
"Since we don't know about who caused your family and others around you to lose their memories, we can't jump to conclusions yet. I'll make sure to let the teachers know once we do though, that way we can make sure you have a clean history," Nezu reassured him.
"So essentially, you've got nothing to work off. I mean, the staff here are mostly pro heroes. Wouldn't they want to look into it too?"
"Quirk experimentation is quite common nowadays unfortunately. I don't think they would purposefully dive deeper to learn more about you unless they have a reason to. Plus you could always tell anyone you were adopted by me and put into U.A for...safe keeping of the sorts. I trust you'll keep your information under wraps for now?"
Shinjiro gave a salute in response.
"I suppose it does work. Did you tell Midoriya and All Might this yet?"
"Just All Might, I'll leave Midoriya up to you. It should be time for class soon, why don't you get going?"
Shinjiro nodded and got up from his seat. Grabbing his bag he made his way towards the door.
"Shinjiro-kun?"
"Yea?" He looked back.
"Have fun" Nezu gave him a warm hearted smile, leaving Shinjiro no choice but to give one back before walking out the door.
After an uninteresting train ride that had Midoriya bouncing up and down from excitement. Plus, the weird looks he got from strangers like he had some problems. He had made it to the gates of U.A. and was marveling at the building in front of him.
Suddenly, he froze and shivered from nervousness. The sheer excitement had turned to worries, with him wondering if he really could step foot into class or even the school in general.
The doubts were short-lived however, as he recalled how All Might and Shinjiro had helped him gain more confidence. He took a deep breath as he held his head high and started to march toward the school. That in turn, caused a couple of students to give him weird looks at how he was marching. I mean, he was practically stomping so hard he could break the floors.
Soon, he made it in front of class 1-A after following a pretty accurate map of the school. In front of him was a huge door with the sign "1-A" on it.
His eyes widened at the massive size "I- Is this for accessibility or just so they can look good?"
"The most promising students of the country...no the world are behind this door..." He said before thinking of the two devils he had come across during the exam. "I really hope I don't get either of them in here…."
"Oh well! Here goes!" Midoriya said before pushing the door open. What happened next might surprise you.
"Take your feet off the desk! It's the first day and you're already being disrespectful!" A blue haired teen with glasses shouted at the blonde, explosive teen.
"GOD DAMN IT! THEY'RE BOTH HERE! WHY ME?!" Midoriya internally shouted while externally...well let's just say he didn't feel so good.
"Huh?" Bakugo arrogantly shouted back at the tall teen.
"Don't you think it's rude to put your feet up on a desk that your upper class men sat at and the people who made it?" Asked the teen in glasses.
"Don't know, don't care!" He shouted back with a nasty grin. "What school cha go to side character?!"
"Does he really think he's a protagonist or something? If he acted the part then maybe..." Midoriya watched with a blank look on his face after he heard that.
The teen raised his hand in the air. "I attended Somei Private Academy! My name is Tenya Iida!"
"Somei? Isn't that the place for elite hardasses? Oho, I'm going to enjoy crushing you!" Bakugo threatened.
Iida was surprised at the sudden threat, causing him to recoil a bit. "Wha- Crush?! Do you really intend to be a hero with that kind of attitude?"
Midoriya sighed. "Hoo boy, looks like he'll never change..."
At this point the two arguing had seemed to notice Midoriya standing in the doorway.
Iida fixed his glasses. "You are..." He began. This was when all those in class, sitting if I may add, shifted their attention toward Midoriya.
"Th- they're all looking at me! Somebody help!" Midoriya tensed up and started sweating nervously.
Iida turned his attention to him and started walking, in a robotic manner, towards the shaken child.
"Good morning! My name is-"
"T- Tenya Iida yes! I- I heard you j- just now!" Midoriya cut him off. "I- I'm Izuku Midoirya. Super nice to meet you..."
"Midoriya...I deeply apologise for my actions back at the exams. It is clear to me that you are very perceptive to have noticed there was something more to the exam. And for that I must admit that you are clearly better than me in every way possible!" Iida bowed at a ninety degree angle.
"N-n-no! I didn't find out anything! I just saw someone in trouble and decided to help," Midoirya, being the embarrassed bean he is, began failing his arms around.
"Still, I recognise that you are way better than me," Iida insisted.
"Somehow, I find that hard to believe," Midoriya sweatdropped.
Suddenly, he heard a voice behind him. "Oh, hey it's you! I recognise that green, messed up hair anywhere!"
"Eh?" Midoriya turned around and guess who he saw? It was the girl he had saved during the exams.
"Oh! It's you! Um...Uraraka-san right?"
Uraraka was somewhat taken aback by Midoriya remembering her name. A small blush formed on her cheeks before speaking up again.
"Oh yea! I forgot to properly thank you for saving me the other day," She quickly bowed while Midoriya was busy failing his arms with a red face.
"N- No problem! I- It was what any good hero would have done anyway..."
"Indeed," Iida said. "You putting your life on the line to save her from that zero-pointer by destroying it, is truly a hero thing to do"
Everybody was quiet until Iida mentioned the zero-pointer getting destroyed by Midoriya. It turned into a frenzy after that.
"Ehhhh?! That's the guy?! One of the guys who smashed the zero-pointer?!" A yellow-haired teen with black lightning marks on his hair yelled.
"No way he punched something like that!" A small, purple-haired boy shouted, with his eyes bulging.
Bakugo's pupils shrank after hearing that, his hands shook in his pocket. He remembered the time where he confronted Midoriya about getting into U.A after hearing about it from his teacher.
The words: "Kacchan...someone I looked up to told me I can become a hero. That's why I applied. That's why I'm going. You can't stop me from being a hero Kacchan!" It ringed in his head.
"I'm going to kill him! He cheated, I'm sure of it!"
As Bakugo still thinks that Midoriya is quirkless, the only way he would have gotten in was that he cheated. Meanwhile, Midoriya was sweating bullets at how he felt Bakugo glaring. Despite having his back turned, he could still feel the malicious intent Bakugo was emitting.
"Oh god, please don't jump me, please don't, I beg you Kacchan please don't jump me!"
It didn't help his situation either as more of his classmates jumped out of their seats and ran toward him.
"Did you really one-shot that giant robot?" A boy with rolled up tape in his elbows asked.
"U- uhhh. Well I-"
"You punched a robot to save a girl? That's the most manliest thing I've ever heard!" A spiky, red-haired boy had his fist clenched over his chest, crying comedic tears.
"Why are you crying?!" Midoriya slightly recoiled.
"How did he punch that robot anyway! I wanna know!" Spoke a...flying pile of clothes with a female voice.
"Well… when I saw him, he was running toward the robot and used the falling debris to bounce higher," Iida recalled.
"So he was essentially flying?!" A girl who had pink skin shouted.
"Th- that's not even remotely close to what he was saying," Midoriya tried to correct her.
"I guess everyone thinks you're amazing Midoriya-san," Uraraka chimed in.
"I- I really didn't do much," The boy rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment, although a part of him enjoyed being praised by other people for the first time.
Then, the sliding door opened once again, making everyone turn their heads to see who was at the door this time. Shinjiro stood at the doorway with hands in his pocket and his backpack slung over his shoulder. Everyone was quiet at his entry, while Midoriya had a smile when he entered.
"Shinjiro-san! You made it!" Midoriya said excitedly.
Shinjiro gave him a small smile and walked toward him. Everyone who swarmed the boy moved out of the way as he walked passed them. He quickly gave Midoriya a head pat and walked toward the back of the room.
"Eh?" Everyone collectively thought in their heads.
"Shinjiro-san! Shouldn't you say something rather than just...doing that?" Midoriya asked.
Putting his backpack aside and sitting down on the desk, Shinjiro lifted his head up to look at his classmates, who were staring weirdly at him.
"Uhhh, no?"
"Oh, boy" Midoriya quickly ran over to his side to introduce everyone on his behalf.
"Th- This is Shinjiro! He's..." Midoriya glanced toward him while Shinjiro was giving him a 'really?' look. "A friend!"
"This child..." Shinjiro mentally groaned.
"Well, it's good to meet you! Hope we get along!" Uraraka cheerfully said.
"Likewise..." He gestured to her that he had not gotten her name yet.
"Oh right! I'm Ochako Uraraka!"
"Ah so you're the one," Shinjiro muttered.
"Hm? I'm sorry I didn't catch that-"
"If you're going to be here to make friends you can pack up and leave right now," A new tired voice cut her off. They all turned around to see a man with long black hair in a yellow, caterpillar bag.
"Ehhhhhhh?!" Midoriya and most of the class exclaimed.
The man stood up and unzipped the sleeping bag. He stepped out of it while sucking on a juice box. He looked like he did not want to be there at all, as shown with his overall worn out appearance, even his black clothes looked like they wanted a nap.
"It took 10 seconds from when I arrived for all of you to shut up, that's going to need work. Time is precious and only rational students will understand that"
"Who is this guy?" The class collectively thought.
Shinjiro on the other hand thought of something else. "Where can I get that sleeping bag?"
"I'm your new homeroom teacher, Shota Aizawa. Nice to meet you," He said unamusingly.
"Homeroom teacher?!" The class thought in disbelief.
Aizawa then reached into his bag and pulled out a couple of U.A. PE uniforms and tossing it to the closest students, being Iida.
"Hand those out," He instructed. "I know this is a bit sudden but put those on and meet me outside. Don't make me wait"
Aizawa left as fast as he had entered, leaving the students baffled at what had just occurred. Shinjiro got up from his seat first, while everyone else was still processing the information they had been given.
"I'll see out on the field," Shinjiro told Midoirya before grabbing a uniform off Iida's hands and making his way out of the classroom. However, before he did so he gave the explody boy a death glare, something the other students did not pick up on. Midoriya, however, did and had a worried expression on his face.
"A quirk assessment test?!" The great outdoors was filled with a class 1-A shouting in shock. Everyone had changed into their U.A. gym uniforms and headed out into the fields, although Midoriya realised Shinjiro had gotten there way faster and he hadn't even seen him in the locker rooms.
"But what about the opening ceremony?!" Uraraka shouted.
"And the orientation?!" Midoriya added.
"If you're going to be a hero, then you won't have such time for pointless events. Here at U.A, we're not tethered to any kind of traditions so I'm allowed to run my class as I see fit," Aizawa stated.
"You've been taking standardized tests for most of your lives," Aizawa added. "So you've never got to use your quirks and fully optimise them in physical exams before"
"I see..." Shinjiro muttered.
"So, the school prioritizes getting the students to improve themselves faster so that they can become heroes and save more lives with that mindset?"
"Hm?" Aizawa glanced at Shinjiro with an unamused look. "So that's him huh?"
"The kid gets it. I plan to have you all undergo a quirk assessment test to determine your abilities." Aizawa pulled out a phone and showed them a list of exercises. "This will be the start of your improvement"
"Bakugo, you got the most points in the exam. Step into the white circle," He instructed.
Bakugo stepped up to the plate before being handed a softball.
"Try using your quirk to throw that softball as far as you can, don't hold back. Whatever you do, don't step out of the circle."
Bakugo tossed the ball up and down before grinning.
"Hurry up, we don't have all day," Aizawa said impatiently.
The explosive teen stretched his arm a bit to get it warmed up and got into a pitcher stance.
"Huh! I'll blast so far, I'll make their jaws drop"
"DIE!" He threw the ball with an explosion right behind it, sending it far into the air out of eyesight.
"D- Die?" Midoriya repeated with a blank look on his face.
"Oh god," Shinjiro sighed, lifting a hand to his face and rubbing his eyes.
"705.2 METERS"
"Woah!" Was the reaction of the entire class.
"705.2 meters, that's insane!" The same yellow-haired teen with bolts on his hair shouted.
"I wanna go! It looks like fun!" Shouted the pink-skinned girl.
"Fun huh?" Aizawa then formed a sadistic smile on his face before turning back to the students. "How's this for fun? The person who comes last on all these tests will be judged to have no potential at all and be expelled immediately"
"WHAAAAT?!" The whole class shouted in disbelief.
"But it's the first day! Th- There's no way-" Midoriya shook.
"There's absolutely a way," Shinjiro told him.
"He is?!" Receiving a nod again from Shinjiro.
"But...but this isn't fair!" Uraraka cried out.
"And the natural disasters are? The power-hungry villains? The imminent disasters that happen? Those aren't fair to anyone, that's why heroes are there to fight that unfairness." Aizawa stated.
"That's the cold harsh world..." Shinjiro thought.
"So you're going to need to push yourselves to the limit. You'll be stuck here for three years so I'm going to need all of you to give it your Plus Ultra. There's no way you'll become heroes if you don't" He finished.
And thus, the tests started.
50-Meter Dash
The first two to go were Shinjiro and Iida. Iida started stretching while Shinjiro surprisingly got into a sprinter's stance from the get go.
A small robot held up a pistol, signalling the start. "On your mark, get set...GO!" It said before firing.
Iida's engines blasted him forward, giving him a tremendous amount of speed at the start and left a cloud of dust behind. Shinjiro on the other hand, boosted himself forward and while it looked like he was running normally, he was actually on par with Iida's speed.
"3.04 seconds!" "3.42 seconds!" The robot announced as they both crossed the finish line.
"Woah! Shinjiro-san you got faster!" Midoriya told him as he walked back to join back with the rest of the class.
"Seems like it," He responded.
Iida glanced at Shinjiro with a bit of a frustrated look on his face. "I could only go in third gear for a short distance… yet he could still catch up to me. I need to improve!"
Soon it was Midoriya and Bakugo's turn to attempt the dash. Well...we know how that turns out.
"4.13 seconds!" "7.2 seconds!" The robot announced once again.
"Oh boy, this isn't looking good," Shinjiro thought.
The other tests weren't looking so good for Midoriya either, you couldn't help but feel bad for the boy.
There was a slight urge within Shinjiro that wanted to take the fall for him at the rate he was going. But, of course no one would forgive him if he did so. So, he's doing what he can, give it his all.
Grip Strength Test
The harsh training regime for Midoriya helped him a bit here, the grip machine actually placed him on the high end of the spectrum.
"Well...it's not bad," He said.
Then, he heard a crunch. He turned to the source of the sound and found Shinjiro nervously hiding the broken grip machine behind his back with a poker face.
"How did he-?!" Midoriya screamed in his mind. Shinjiro seemed to have noticed him with a gaping mouth.
"Whoops," He shrugged.
Standing Long Jump
Nothing interesting here, just a couple of people competing to see who can jump the farthest...and some just outright cheating.
"I'm starting to think this was a mistake," Shinjiro sweatdropped as he saw at least a third of them cheese the entire thing.
"I'm doomed!" Midoriya thought.
Side Stepping Test
After seeing the small purple haired boy bouncing between his balls, Midoriya looked to be on the verge of having a nervous breakdown. Shinjiro gave him a pat on the back before both having an average side stepping speed.
Cause honestly, how do you beat a guy bouncing between balls.
Soft Ball Throwing
Looks like we've come back full circle to where we started. But this time, Shinjiro was going to go up to bat.
He had a solid grip on the ball and took a couple of steps back, just enough that he was at the edge of the circle. Then he ran forward, bringing his arm back as far as he could. As soon as he neared the edge of the circle he threw it.
"420 Meters!" The robot announced.
The score received a lot of oohh's and aahh's from the crowd. Shinjiro just nonchalantly went back into the crowd.
Then it was Midoriya's long awaited turn. At the corner of his eye, he saw Bakugo smirking at him, mainly wanting to witness him failing.
He looked at the ball in his hand.
"I really don't want to break my entire arm again...however, I can't let them down. I'll put some power into it" He thought of everyone who had encouraged him, giving him the confidence boost he needed.
He focused One For All into his forearm, letting green electricity gather around his entire arm. However, before he could let go of the ball, he felt like something was off about it.
He decided to stop and stumbled a little bit, but enough to not go out of the circle. He looked down at his hands and tried to reactivate his quirk. However, he couldn't feel a single thing from One For All, but that's when he felt something grab him.
"GYAH!"
He was pulled toward Aizawa, whose eyes were red and the scarf around him was floating in the air.
"You're the one that destroyed that giant robot right?" Midoriya could only nod in response.
"Yet, you break yourself when it comes to something as small as this. What if it was an actual attack? Are you planning to become a liability as soon as you punch once? I won't hesitate to expel you if you keep breaking yourself"
He loosened his grip on his scarf and let Midoriya go.
"I've returned your impractical quirk" Aizawa said as his eyes returned to normal and the scarf around him dropped back onto his shoulders.
"Go on and take your shot, come on now we don't have all day," He instructed.
Midoriya gripped the ball in his hand tightly. "Ok Izuku, focus. It's either 100% or none. Wait...I could spread the percentages throughout my arm! It's impractical sure but, it's now or never"
Wheeling his arm back, he focused on gathering One For All throughout his entire arm. The electricity surging throughout his arm was noticeable to many, Aizawa narrowed his eyes at the sight.
Midoriya then let loose.
"SMAAAAAAASSHH!" He shouted before an immense shockwave shook the area.
The ball was blasted so hard it created strong winds that began blowing in all directions. Luckily it wasn't that powerful to knock someone off his feet yet.
Soon the winds died down and everyone could see the state Midoriya was in. His arm was red and visibly swollen, the most damage was done to his finger but as it travelled the redness slowly dissipated. To everyone it looked bad but Shinjiro knew Midoriya was getting even better at using One For All.
"For someone breaking his bones from a single punch, he's improved a lot hasn't he," Shinjiro thought as he turned his head to see a sneaky All Might hiding behind the building. "Heh, looks like even he couldn't wait"
"This kid..." Aizawa narrowed his eyes.
"654.1 Meters!" The robot shouted.
Everyone was surprised at Midoriya's feats. Bakugo on the other hand…
"Everyone's quirks are meant to manifest at four years old! What the hell was that?! He's hiding something!" Confused, stunned, and filled with rage, Bakugo launched himself at Midoriya.
"DEKU YOU BASTARD! TELL ME WHAT THE HELL'S GOING ON," He ran right at Midoriya with explosions crackling in his hands.
Midoriya, who was still holding his arm, watched in horror as Bakugo ran at him.
"AAAHHH," He comically screamed.
Shinjiro decided to move to stop Bakugo however, cloth was launched out and grabbed the ticking time bomb. Aizawa was grappling Bakugo back with his scarf and his red eyes cancelling his quirk.
"Stand down." He instructed, before reeling back his scarf and cancelling his own quirk. "You're wasting my time now. Who ever's next can step up now"
Midoriya moved out of Bakugo's way as the boy just stood there. Words could not describe how pissed off he was feeling toward the green haired teen, who was reassuring Uraraka and Iida that he was fine.
"Deku's just a bug! Just an annoying bug that I can smash into the ground!"
Soon the final few tests were complete, with Midoriya fighting through the pain. Currently, the teen was on the floor, panting hard having just barely made it past all the tests. Shinjiro came up to him and extended a hand, which he gladly took, however Midoriya had made a fatal mistake. Choosing to grab using his semi-broken hand resulted in a pretty loud scream.
"OW!" That resulted in a head chop by Shinjiro. "Oww!"
"Learn to use your head idiot," Shinjiro said in a stoic voice.
"Stop fooling around, I'm about to announce the results," Aizawa instructed and put up the rankings onto a holographic leaderboard.

As his eyes tracked to the bottom of the rankings, Midoriya felt a sigh of relief come over him. He was also particularly shocked at how well Shinjiro had done in the tests, considering he's next to Bakugo.
The panicked cries of the small boy with purple hair was heard who saw that he was last on the list.
Aizawa, however, smiled, "Oh yea, I was lying about the expulsion. That was to make sure to bring out the best in all of you"
"EEEHHHHHHH?!" Nearly the whole class yelled.
"Of course, he didn't mean it," A tall girl with a spiky ponytail said.
"Really?" Midoriya muttered.
"No, he was completely serious," Shinjiro crossed his arms.
"Y-you could tell?" Midoriya asked.
"No, my…'parents' feared his teaching ways and taught us how to not get expelled. I just don't know why he's choosing not to now," Shinjiro put a hand up to his chin.
"W-well, too bad the others didn't hear it," To anyone's surprise, the others were busy chatting and whispering to each other.
Aizawa's smile had faded by then as he put his hands in his pockets and started walking away. "Well, that's all for today. Make sure you all work hard tomorrow"
He turned a corner of a building and just like that, he was gone. Shinjiro and Midoriya watched as he disappeared with the former still thinking to himself.
"What an odd guy," Shinjiro said out loud.
"Ah! I just remembered! That's Eraserhead!" Midoriya shouted, which earned a quick smack to the forehead by Shinjiro.
"Ow!"
"You seriously couldn't figure that out by now, Professor X?"
"Hehe, sorry. I was too busy trying to not get expelled," Midoriya rubbed his forehead.
"Speaking of which, we need to get you to Recovery Girl," Shinjiro said before walking off in the direction of the nurse's office.
"Ah, wait for me!" Midoriya said, catching up to the teen.
Bakugo, however, stared as the two walked away from the field as he glanced back to the rankings. His hands balled up, he had a look of rage and confusion on his face.
"A nobody caught up to me?! How's he even friends with that nerd! I'll need to beat him up for answers!"
Meanwhile, Aizawa pulled out a blindfold from his pocket as he went around the corner of the building. He was hoping to find peace but only found a yellow suit wearing All Might. So, he did the only sensible thing and walked past him.
"Come on Aizawa, don't leave me here," All Might cheerfully said.
"Don't you have better things to do other than watch," Aizawa said unamused.
All Might put a finger up. "Well, I had some time to come and check up on the new students! But, more importantly we both know that you were lying about not expelling anyone! You did expel an entire class once judging them to be of no potential. By not expelling anyone means you must see potential in everyone in the class!"
Aizawa was silent for a while before sighing and continued walking further from the hero. "You really talk too much. They weren't weak that's all"
"To think you see potential in everyone including young Midoriya!"
"Isn't it a bit early to be playing favorites? I admit the kid doesn't have zero potential, if he did I'd be sending him straight home," Aizawa said.
"And that kid, Shinjiro, he's the one Nezu told the teachers about. I heard you were the one that picked him up...what do you know of him?"
"Suspicious of everyone as always Aizawa!" All Might chortled. "To be honest, that one hasn't really opened himself up too much when I found him"
Of course, this was a half lie he was telling. A brief silence befell the two before Aizawa let out two words.
"I see," Before walking toward the school building. "If you were the one to find him and Nezu being the one to take care of him, then I hope he won't be as much of a nuisance as you two are"
"Riiiight, I forgot Nezu told everyone he was taking care of young Shinjiro. He was acting like a proud father that time," All Might sweatdropped as he watched Aizawa walk away and out of earshot.
He then laughed out loud. "As expected, you and I will never get along!"
