Chapter 2, The meteor
Sorry if it took longer then expected, I got quite an injury at my sports match, think the two words wheelchair and crutches say enough also, I changed the way the meteor works because it would create a more interesting story. enjoy the chapter :)
The pups were driving towards the general location of the lab, but then Ryder gets a call, it's Harris (golden retriever from the first movie) 'Hello Harris, what's going on?' Ryder asked
'A meteor just dropped from the sky on the beach.' Harris replied.
'A what?' Ryder asked, confused by what he heard.
'A meteor, it's glowing in a weird way and it's chaos here.' Harris explained.
'Okay, thanks for calling, we are on our way.' Ryder said.
Ryder ended the call and called all pups.
'Okay pups change of plan, set course to the beach, some weird meteor crashed there. We have to calm everyone and see what's going on.'
Ryder and the pups set course to the beach, where it is indeed complete chaos, as a huge crowd has formed around the meteor. Ryder and the pups arrived, the coast guard was already waiting for them.
'We will have to clear the beach, we could use some help.' One of the coast guard members said.
'We are on it.' Ryder reacted. 'Does anyone have an idea what that meteor is?'
'No, never seen anything like it, it's glowing, we are surprised it didn't do more than make a little hole in the sand.' The coast guard member replied.
'Okay, let's make sure people don't get to close to the object because we don't know what damage that thing can cause.' Ryder said.
Ryder and the pups clear the beach and restore the peace. Now to check out the weird looking meteor.
'Alright pups, be careful, we don't know what this thing can cause.' Ryder warned.
Just as they wanted to get closer, a journalist managed to get onto the beach and get to Ryder. He tried asking questions to Ryder, knowing it wasn't safe Ryder escorted the man back off the beach. While he was doing that the pups were at the meteor.
'What is that thing?' Skye wondered.
'Good question.' Rocky replied
'Do we stay here or?' Rubble asked.
'I think we should check it out.' Chase said.
Chase did a step forward, while all other pups were surrounding it. They all notice that the meteor's glowing began pulsing, just like it was about to explode. They were about to step away from it, but suddenly a flash of light launched the pups back, causing them to fall on the ground.
'Woah, what was that?' Zuma asked laying on the sand.
'Is everyone okay?' Marshall asked everyone.
'I'm not hurt, I'm okay.' Skye replying getting on her paws.
'Pups, what happened?' The six saw Ryder approaching. 'I saw a flash and you laying on ground, are you okay?'
'Nobody got hurt, but that meteor did do something, I feel different.' Chase reported. 'Full of energy.'
'Full of energy, hmmm.' Ryder thought out loud. He looked at rubble, who was moving sand around with his paw, while his front paws started to glowed yellow.
'Rubble what are your paws doing dude?' Zuma asked confused.
Rubble looked at his paws, and got as confused as everyone else. 'I have no idea.' He responded. As he stopped moving around sand, his paws stopped glowing.
'Rubble, can you dig around a little bit?' Ryder asked.
'Okay?' Rubble reacted confused.
Rubble dug through the sand, as he did so his paws lit up yellow again and rubble dug through the sand in a speed no dog could ever match.
The jaws of the other pups dropped to the floor as they watch rubble discover his new ability.
It didn't take long for the other pups to discover their abilities, as Chase almost accidentally runs into the sea, Zuma throws water at Marshall, the water evaporating as Marshall puts his paws between himself and the water. Skye finds out she can fly without wings now, turning herself into a doggie tornado by accident. Rocky fixing the damage done by using his new super tool power.
Ryder looks at the chaos unfolding, realizing what happened to the pups, this might work in their advantage if the pups get their powers under control…
