Chapter 3, Quiet as a mouse.
One week later
'Alright pups, we got a little bit distracted cause of the whole meteor situation, but we still have a job to do. I want everyone to go in duo's and take a look around and see what Humdinger or any of the workers at this secret lab are doing. But be careful, i want everyone back in one piece. Understood?' Ryder ordered the pups.
'Understood!' The pups replied.
'Chase and Marshall, you two can take a look at the main entrance. Rocky and Rubble, you two inspect the woods next to the lab. Zuma and Skye, ask the locals what they know or have seen about the lab. Paw patrol is on a roll!' Ryder ordered.
All the pups split up as they followed Ryders orders. Zuma and Skye went to the houses nearby the mysterious lab, it wasn't long before they came across some locals, who were happy to tell their stories.
'So you don't have any idea what is going on in there?' Zuma asked the old lady, who was happy to share her life story with the pups.
'No, all i know is that that Humdinger man has been going there a lot, together with a man in lab clothing. They could be working on something, and after what happened when he became mayor i worry for the future.' The old lady said, a little worried.
'Don't worry, we will keep an eye on it.' Skye replied confidently.
'oh no!' The old lady suddenly exclaimed.
'Whats wrong?' Zuma asked.
'My cat!' The old lady said, pointing at a tree.
'Don't worry ma'm, we will free you're cat.' Skye said, before running towards her helicopter.
'Shouldn't we ask Ryder if Marshall can come?' Zuma asked, following Skye to her helicopter.
'No, they are busy, and besides, i think i can get this done quickly, we have more people to interview.' Skye replied.
'Okay, just don't make a scene.' Zuma said.
'I would never.' Skye replied with a smile.
Skye entered the air and slowly moved it towards the tree, monitoring the cat's position.
'I think you might just scare it out of the tree.' Zuma mentioned through the pup-tag.
'Cats land on their paws right, i think her owner will catch it anyway if it jumps.' Skye replied.
'Thats not how it works, but you do you.' Zuma reacted.
Skye got just a little closer, and the cat rushed down the tree safely, landing in its owners arms.
'See easy work.' Skye told zuma over the pup-tag. She landed her helicopter and looked around, it was quiet, too quiet.
'Thank you so much pup, I am never letting my cat loose like that ever again.' The old lady said, snuggling her cat in her arms.
'No problem, have you seen the other pup that was with me?' Skye asked the old lady.
'He was right there when you went to safe my cat, didn't keep an eye on him afterwards.' The lady said.
'Okay, thanks for answering our questions.' Skye said, already running off to where she last saw zuma.
'Zuma?' Skye called out as she looked around. No sign of the chocolate Labrador.
'Ryder, could you contact zuma for me, I lost sight of him.' Skye told Ryder through her pup-tag.
'Yeah sure.' Ryder reacted. Ryder tried to get contact with zuma, but no reaction followed. 'His location is very close to yours.' Ryder noticed.
Skye went to Zuma's pup-tag location and saw his pup-tag laying on the sidewalk floor.
'Did you find him?' Ryder asked.
'No, it's like he just, disappeared.' Skye replied.
Thanks for reading, I think it doesn't come as a surprise that I'll tell you that I plan to continue working on this project, and all my other project, with pleasure, but I will have to mention something. I have been having health issues, I still plan to keep writing like usual, but who knows what gets in my way this time, just know I will keep on thinking about / writing stories until my last breath. Have a good day my dear friends and see you at the next chapter.
(Sorry I love cliffhangers with a passion)
