Chapter 6, Plan after plan.
It was quiet in the lookout tower, many of the pups hanging out by themselves, trying to process whatever has already happened so far. Marshall comes out of the bedroom of the pups, walking towards Ryder, who was nervously watching the city while keeping an eye on his pup pad.
'How is he doing?' Ryder asked, noticing the pup coming towards him.
'Not getting any better.' Marshall replied.
'And you still have no idea what's going on?' Ryder asked.
'No, it's a mystery for me to be honest.' Marshall said. 'Any sign of Skye and Rocky?
'No, their pup tag still shows them being at the apartment, Rocky told me to give him some time, but if this goes on for much longer, we need to make sure they are okay.' Ryder answered.
'I would agree.' Marshall said. 'Whatever happened to Zuma, we can't have it happen to two others.'
Ryder nodded and looked back at his pup pad, the location of Rocky and Skye had finally moved, they were going towards the lookout. Ryder looked out the window, seeing the two pups approaching.
'Phew, you pups make me want to pull my hair out sometimes.' Ryder commented, happy that the pups were safe.
Marshall laughed, understanding the feeling.
'I'll go check on Zuma.' Marshall said, walking towards the bedroom.
Ryder waited for Skye and Rocky to arrive, both pups running into the main room, tired from running.
'You two had me worried for a bit.' Ryder said.
'Yeah, so sorry about that, we had to turn off our pup tags for a bit.' Rocky answered, panting like he ran a marathon.
'Why was that?' Ryder asked curiously.
'I was talking with Skye in the apartment of the explosion, just as we wanted to return to the lookout, Humdinger of all people came in with a guy in white lab clothing, we had to hide. Rocky answered.
'He was talking about things he did not want us to know.' Skye commented.
As Rocky wanted to explain what he had heard Marshall came into the room.
'You two better have some answers.' Marshall said frustratedly.
'Is he getting worse?' Ryder asked.
'Yes.' Marshall simply said.
'Well, we do have some answers, but it's not really in our favor.' Rocky said.
'What is it.' Marshall said, having lost all patience he normally has.
'The guy in lab clothing, probably a scientist told Humdinger that the original plan has failed, but they can use what they have against the paw patrol pups because of their mighty powers.' Skye explained.
'The machine we saw in the apartment was meant to steal Zuma's power, but the Power is too big to be stored.' Rocky said. 'The man said not to worry about Zuma, as the only way to save him is to bring him to the meteor.'
'The meteor that has been taken over by Humdingers men, of course.' Ryder said with a sigh.
'The powers we have are so big that we can no longer survive without this power inside us.' Marshall said.
'Exactly.' Rocky said.
'So, to help Zuma, we need to break into a protected base, with the people inside warning about a weapon that can kill whoever comes inside.' Chase asked, walking into the room, hearing the conversation.
'We need to do something.' Marshall said.
'We need to find a way to lure the people out of the base, then the police called in by the mayor can deal with them, while we help Zuma.' Ryder thought out loud.
'A distraction, sounds like a plan.' Chase said.
'We need to know what we are dealing with first, we need to know if they really have a weapon and what it can do.' Ryder said.
'Yeah, and hurry in the process.' Marshall added.
'We need to do this fast, but good.' Ryder added. 'Lets get everyone together, we have a-lot of information to find.
