Chapter 7, tonight we strike part 1

Three days before strike time

Ryder had hidden himself behind some bushes and was able to watch the beach from his position. He could look over the walls of the base. The base had no roof, so Ryder was able to watch the people in the base from far away with his binoculars. Skye was flying over the city, but using her binoculars she could see the base from above. The other pups were at the lookout watching the live camera footage from the beach. The base had sabotaged it, but only after they set up the whole base. Watching back the footage could give the paw patrol some advantage knowing what the base actually had. Finding the perfect mix between taking it slow but also working fast because they didn't have much time left, was not easy, but they had no choice. The time was running out, but the information on the base was coming in. It was time to make a plan.

One day days before strike time

Everyone met up at the lookout. After two days of hard work, now was the time to get everything ready for strike day, time continuing to run out.

'Alright everybody, we don't have a lot of time, but I am sure we can pull this off.' Ryder said, starting the meeting. 'The last two days were not for nothing as we have found out a lot about the base and how we can possibly get to the meteor and bring all the people inside to justice!'

The pups seemed to get a little excited

'The base has no roof which makes a distraction from above very easy. Many of you pups will be on distraction duty. Try to lure the people out of the base so police can take care of them. Skye will watch over the whole thing and make sure everything is going according to plan. From the pictures we've got from the base from above we've seen a tent precisely in the middle of the base, we think this is where the meteor is located, but we can't say for sure. I will be driving there with Zuma and hopefully all can go back to normal and we can empty this base out.' Ryder said.

'That's a lot.' Rubble joked.

'It is, also I added a cool new feature to your cars thanks to your powers. You can make your cars fly now, handy to make sure we have a fighting chance.' Ryder said.

'What about the weapon they were warning about?' Chase asked, a little skeptical.

'Right yeah, I think they have a device now that could take your powers away instead of some creepy room. So you really need to watch out for that, if something goes wrong communicate it immediately. We need to work as a team more then ever, help and protect each other okay. Also Rubble, you need to come with me, I got a fun little task for you to do.' Ryder said, a smile the pups only recognized from when humdinger was put in jail visible on Ryder's face.

All the pups nodded, they knew this would be a hard job, but they had to do it, for Zuma.

Strike time

The pups were sitting around nervously waiting for Ryder's sign that would send the pups on one of the most important missions of their lives. The silence in the lookout was real, not even a sound of Rubble eating treats was present. Don't think it's ever been so quiet, but it had to end, and it did. Ryder came in with his helmet. 'Alright, got the quad ready with the upgrades I need to be less noticeable, I talked with police and they are ready, how about you pups?' Ryder asked. Chase looked at the other pups and then looked back at Ryder. 'Yes, for Zuma. Marshall has been nervous enough, time to get everything back to normal.' Chase said, the pups agreeing with him.

'Alright, go to your vehicles and get to the locations I send you, on my sign you will receive a sign and you will do your thing. Lure all of them out so police can arrest them safely, and try to avoid them coming towards where I'll be.' Ryder said. All pups nodded in agreement, focused as if they were about to race in the highest level of Motorsport. All the pups ran off to their vehicles, everyone split up as to avoid suspicions, everyone waiting for the sign to come.

Ryder parked his quad out of sight and sat their for a bit with Zuma in his arms using his binoculars to see what was going on in the base. Zuma clearly struggling, you could see him searching for power to keep fighting, but he was running out. Ryder gave the Labrador a pet as he put his binoculars down. 'It will be okay shortly.' He said. Ryder grabbed his pup pad and connected himself to the lead police chief in charge of the situation and all the pups. 'Give 'em all you've got!' He said before disconnecting. Ryder Picked up his binoculars again and immediately saw the chaos unfold, he had to wait till they were going to call everyone in to focus on the threat, so Ryder could easily sneak in. Ryder sees the blue particle's flying through the place telling him Chase was there. Putting himself at risk, but that was needed in this moment. Rubble throwing boulders to break down the walls, the people inside the base needing more manpower to protect their base at that one side. It was working, the people on the other side of the base were being called to help protect. It was really like a wartime out there, no one giving an inch. Police making sure as soon as they made a step out the base they were arrested and taken care of.

Ryder decided it was time, let this know to Chase, and he started driving, easily entering the base as rubble had thrown a boulder at that entrance two days before, the people were as weird as the paw patrol expected and were more busy investigating what happened than actually fixing what was broken. Ryder had to drive carefully as things were being thrown around by pups and there were some people still around his area of the base. Ryder could see the blue light, showing Chase was patrolling around Ryder to make sure the path was clear. Chase then decided to go towards the tent to see if there were any people around. Chase ran in but immediately had to run out, there was a guy, and he had something in his hand, Chase's instinct knew this must be the weapon. Before Chase realized he found himself on the middle of an empty beach, he ran a little to far away as he was still learning about how powerful his power was. Skye saw Chase running away from the tent and knew there was danger, but Ryder was coming towards it with Zuma. "I'm not going to let anything more happen to Zuma." It circled in her mind. Skye wanted to want Ryder but there was no time. Skye flew right through the entrance just in front of Ryder, spotted the guy and flew towards him at full speed. He threw something at her, but Skye didn't care, pushing the guy over knocking him out. Chase then finally arrived back, about to tell Ryder to watch out, but seeing his information was outdated.

'Oh boy.' Chase said, looking around the room.
