Chapter 7: Tales of Training part 2: Weeks Pass

Nebula

I miss my dad so much.

I miss Knuckles and Shade, Star's parents. I miss all of Star's adorable siblings. I miss Star's aunt Tikal.

I miss Cinnamon's mom Cream.

I miss Stacey's mom and dad, Amy and Sonic.

I don't know Pepper that well, but I know losing her parents must have been hard.

I know everyone except for Prism and Nocny. They confuse me.

Star

Guess I should be honest or something.

I miss my mom and dad. I miss Aunt Tikal.

I especially miss my younger siblings. As much as they annoy me, I love them. When I finally find them, I'll play dolls with Petal, read Ripple a bedtime story, and teach Boulder a new move.

I feel bad for Nebula. I feel bad for Cinnamon. I even feel bad for Pepper, even though she doesn't even seem to care.

I want to feel bad about Stacey, but she makes it really hard to with her annoyingness.

But Nocny? I don't know what to think. Who is this black hedgehog girl with red eyes? She looks an awful lot like Shadow, actually…

Prism

My turn!

I'm really confused.

Shadow said that my mom had been captured with the rest, but I thought Mom was still at the base. Why was she there? Why didn't she tell me?

By the way, Star's big glowing rock is super pretty!

Noncy's so funny when she tries not to let anyone know her dad's Shadow. It's so obvious, too, which makes how oblivious the others are even funnier!

Pepper's a fun gal to hang with. Did you know? We have sooooo much in common! (Like… well… I'll think of something later.)

Cinnamon's kinda weird. I like her chao, but one tried to bite me, so now I avoid them.

Nebula's such a sweetie! She's nice, and caring, and kind, and doesn't approve of my prank ideas to steal Star's Master Emerald.

Star is practically glued to that shining jewel, and she won't let me near it! I only threatened to take it once!

I bet Mom would be pretty proud if I got that gem for her. Though maybe I'll keep it for myself.

Stacey is… a hedgehog. I dunno, she's not very interesting. For some reason Nocny's friends with her.

C'mon, Nocny, I'm way cooler than Stacey!

Cinnamon

I don't get attached to people, but I guess I'm closest to Pepper. We share a hut, after all.

Pepper is a brand of annoying, but it's not nearly as bad as that bat Prism.

Prism is all about fur-care and make-up and jewelry. It is so stupid.

Pepper doesn't care about looks at all, (which is so much more bearable,) and mostly seems to just not understand when people portray what they want by their actions and not plainly stating it.

I also know Nebula pretty well. Only because our parents have secret crushes on each other. Though Nebula doesn't know her dad and my mom like each other.

Nebula is sweet. She is so helpful to the chao, and the chao love when she is over. Nebula is smart, but with technology and machines. She's not good at noticing people-things.

Huh, kinda like Pepper. Is there a reason my almost-friends share that similarity?

Stacey is… she has a secret, that much is sure. So does Nocny. I'm not that interested in exposing their secrets, but I do wish I knew what they were.

Star does not like Stacey. Their rivalry is pointless.

Stacey

Ugh! I cannot stand Star!

She thinks she's so much better than me since she's some stupid emerald guardian or something!

And Star is good at training and all that. Well, I'm just inexperienced! I'll get there.

Nocny is my first friend. I've never had a friend before. Nebula doesn't count, since she's my cousin.

Nocny is mysterious. I don't know anything about her, except that her eyes are not naturally red. We share each other's secrets, so we have to be friends. Not that I'm complaining.

Pepper is… well, her.

Cinnamon is quiet.

Prism knows Nocny. Nocny has more friends than me. Don't tell her, but I'm jelly.

Nocny

Prism is my first friend. A messenger, giving me secret missions when I was bored. An ally, helping me on those missions.

Stacey is my second friend. We met in the woods. We both have our own reasons to hide.

Pepper. She seriously seems like a show-off.

Star isn't so bad, but Stacey has something against her. I don't know why.

Cinnamon. I know nothing about her.

Nebula is Stacey's friend. She's a weird plant alien, but she seems nice.

Pepper

'Sup.

I have so many new friends now!

First is Cinnamon, who I share a hut with. Her chao are really cute. Cinnamon is quiet, and she cares for her chao.

Makes me wish I had a pet, but nobody at the palace will give me one.

Prism is a bat, and she's neat! We're already besties! Unless she likes Nocny better, which I hope isn't true.

Nocny is pretty cool, but I don't really know anything about her.

Stacey is kinda like Nocny. I don't know much about her either.

Nebula is boring. She's all sugar and spice and everything nice, which is just lame. I bet she's never even seen a flamethrower.

Star is tough. She has a giant gem. It reminds me vaguely of those special gems mom won't let me touch.

Shadow

Seven girls.

Seven is a special number. I don't usually feel inclined to believe superstition, but U9-b has gotten into my head.

It is certainly odd that the entire Team Sonic had girls for children. I don't want to believe in destiny, but this is hard to ignore.

No matter. I will train the girls, and they will face the enemy.

The enemy… I know her all too well. Back when Nocny was still young.

Nocny is growing up all too fast. Once she's around twenty she'll stop aging, but until then her life is speeding by.

I remember when she was small enough to hold in my arms. She was… cute.

She matured quicker than ordinary Mobians since she's an Ultimate Lifeform. The scientists started teaching her reading, writing, grammar, and math.

Once she was seven years old, I started training her. When the outside world finds out she exists, she'll have to be ready for new enemies.

Now she's twelve and already hates me. She'll get over it… I hope.

I know I haven't exactly been nice to her. I can't pretend I have been. All I do is for her good, though, and someday she'll see that.

I'm lucky.

I've got my own dimension I live in, and I can even watch over Shadow and Nocny from it.

I'm very unlucky.

Void lives in the dimension with me. Void is annoying.

Anyway. I hope that Shadow and Nocny can stop this enemy soon.
