Bucky O'Hare learned a lot about Harley Keener's world. He was introduced to heavy metal music from the likes of Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath, Metallica, Iron Maiden and Alice Cooper. Bucky liked some of the heavy metal music that Harley had introduced him to, though he didn't particularly like the loud guitar squealing and the singer's high pitched voices. Harley introduced Bucky and his crew to video games like Pokemon and Legend of Zelda as well as Resident Evil and Devil May Cry. Bucky and Jenny liked the Legend of Zelda games, though they were confused by the various Pokemon monsters and battles. Bucky and Jenny found Resident Evil to be a bit too scary for them.
The Righteous Indignation was being pursued by a squadron of Toad double bubbles. Deadeye wanted to go out and fight the toad ships, but Bucky was more interested in getting away from the ships. Up ahead of them was an asteroid belt. Jenny wanted to pass through the asteroid belt safely. It was either that or have the double bubbles fire at their ship.
"Don't tell me you're planning on going through that asteroid field?" Jenny said to Bucky. She wss worried that the asteroid field would destroy the Righteous Indignation. The last thing she needed was for the ship to crash into a meteorite and it getting seriously damaged or worse.
"Okay, I won't tell you." Bucky said. The Righteous Indignation went through the asteroid field, like the classic arcade game from the late 1970's that used to be popular.
"Good idea, Bucky! A few million air strike fragments ought to keep them toads buay!" Deadeye said like it was the most normal thing in the world to say. The four armed duck used his cannons to blast the asteroids to clear a path for the Righteous Indignation to follow through safely.
Meanwhile at Harley Keener's bedroom, Harley was playing one of his all time favorite video games: Donkey Kong 64 on the Nintendo 64. He was a huge Donkey Kong fan. He played the Donkey Kong Country trilogy on the Super Nintendo. Harley liked the Donkey Kong games for their fun controls and awesome characters like Diddy Kong and Trixie. Harley had been trying to figure out the passcode to access KOMPLEX's mainframe. He tried every name he could that related to tech to try and gain access to KOMPLEX's mainframe password. Every name he tried was unsuccessful. Harley started to get frustrated that the old computer wouldn't accept the passwords he gave it. He eventually gave up trying to figure out the passcode to KOMPLEX's mainframe. It wss useless to Harley if he didn't even know what the passcode to KOMPLEX's mainframe was.
Harley was playing the third level of Donkey Kong 64. The goal of the third level was to rescue Cranky Kong, who's imprisoned by the main villain of the game: King K. Rool in a dangerous toy factory. The main boss of the level was Mad Jack, an evil jack-in-the-box (I'm not kidding). Harley was playing as Diddy Kong in the testing area of the level. Harley's character in the game jumped across several platforms to reach Funky's shop. Harley was playing through the level, when suddenly, the game started glitching out. Harley was confused as to why his Donkey Kong game was suddenly glitching out.
When Diddy reached the arcade area of the level which can allow the player to play the OG Donkey Kong arcade game, the game suddenly froze. Harley couldn't move Diddy. Then the screen cut to black abruptly. Harley suddenly found himself at the character select screen of the main menu. There was a new character in the selection roster. The ape wore some sort of battle armor. The ape had short hair with sideburns that reached his cheeks. He had 2 short bottom teeth jutting out of his mouth like bucked teeth. The ape character's name was Bruce. Harley clicked on the character bio.
The bio read: Bruce. Species: Baboon. Info: This baboon came from the planet Betelguesia, a literal planet of the apes. He mysteriously appeared on in island. He had an encounter with King K. Rool while trying to collect golden bananas. He is a strong ape who will stop at nothing to stop King K Rool and his various minions.
Harley couldn't believe what he read about the new Donkey Kong character. He'd played Donkey Kong 64 plenty of times and he never seen nor played an ape character named Bruce before in the game. Harley selected Bruce. He began to play as the new character that he somehow unlocked.
Back on the Righteous Indignation, a group of toads were man handling Blinky like he was a child's toy in the engine room. Bucky and Deadeye climbed down the ladder. They saw a group of toads in the engine room. They both took out their maser pistols and were about to fire them at the toads. Bucky stopped Deadeye from firing his guns. He didn't want Deadeye to fire his gun at the blast hit the photon accelerator. Bruiser suddenly appeared, scaring the crap out of the toads.
"Hey! What are you doing to my buddy!" Bruiser said. The toads immediately dropped the android and proceeded to fire their guns at the baboon. Bucky and Deadeye backed away from the gunfire.
"Get their weapons before they do some serious damage!" Bucky said.
"How you guys like some hand-to-hand combat!" Deadeye said. Before they could do anything, both Bucky and Deadeye heard a toad voice up above them. They see a group of toads holding Jenny and Emily hostage with guns aimed at their heads. Emily had a gag over her mouth. She was terrified.
"One more move and both the cat and the little girl gets it!. Tell the baboon to back off!" a toad warned the rabbit and four armed duck. They saw Jenny and Emily being held hostage. Suddenly, the translucent form of Bruce the Betelguesian Baboon appeared out of nowhere. Bucky rubbed his eyes to make sure he wasn't seeing turned around to see the translucent form of his brother Bruce.
"Bruce?" Bruiser asked.
"If you've got a tough problem, I'll fix it!" Bruce said. Bruiser walked up to touch his brother. He disappeared into thin air as if he was a ghost or a mirage. Bucky O'Hare and his crew were confused by the sudden appearance of their former engineer. The last time they saw Bruce, he was sucked into another dimension when the ship's photon accelerator malfunctioned during a toad attack a long time ago. The toads holding Jenny and Emily hostage suddenly disappeared in a bright flash of light, freeinh both of them. Emily took off her gag. Bruiser wondered where the toads went. Jenny and Emily headed down the ladder.
"What the hell is going on?" Emily asked.
"I don't know. Maybe Harley will know what's going on. " Bucky told Emily. "I'm glad you're okay."
Harley Keener's bedroom door appeared instantly. Harley raced out the door with a panicked look on his face.
"Guys! There's this new character in my Donkey Kong game!" Harley exclaimed.
"This isn't the time to tell me about another of your games, Harley." Bucky said.
"The character's name is Bruce!" Harley said to Bucky and his crew.
"Who's Bruce?" Emily asked.
"Bruce used to be our ship's engineer bedore Harley joined us." Bucky said to Emily.
"You guys know this Bruce guy?" Harley questioned.
"Yes. He used to be our engineer and he's Bruiser's brother." Jenny said. "He disappeared when the photon accelerator malfunctioned shortly before we met you."
"Well, this Bruce guy's in my game." Harley said. Harley led Bucky, Jenny, Deadeye, Emily and Bruiser to his bedroom, where he showed them proof that Bruce the Betelguesian Baboon was in his Donkey Kong Nintendo 64 game. Bucky and his crew were shocked when they saw their former engineer Bruce in Harley's Donkey Kong game.
"How did Bruce end up in your game?" the green rabbit asked his human friend.
"I have no idea how he enddd up in my game. I played Donkey Kong 64 many times. I've never seen Bruce in the game before." Harley said.
"Is there any way we can communicate with Bruiser through your game?" Bucky asked Harley.
"No. Well, there was this one microphone accessory for the Nintendo 64 calldd the Voice Recognition Unit that was only ever released for only one game called Hey You Pikachu!. The Nintendo 64 Vocal Recognition Unit only works with the Pikachu game I just mentioned." said Harley.
"Does this voice recognition thingy work with any other games besides your Pikachu game? Will it work in this game?" Bucky asked.
"No, unfortunately. Like I said, the Nintendo 64 Voice recognition Unit only works with Hey You Pikachu and nothing else." Harley said.
"How are we supposed to communicate with Bruce then?" Bucky asked. Harley shrugged his shoulders. Harley had no idea how in the world he was going to communicate with Bruce inside his Donkey Kong game without using the Voice recognition Unit that only worked with an obscure Pokemon spin off game that nobody knows about.
