Chapter Five
Shirou is pacing through his house worriedly. Neither Sakura nor Mason showed up for dinner and he hasn't heard a word from either of them. Taiga has already left back home shortly after dinner, but not before expressing that Mason will be receiving a huge lecture about leaving without letting his guardian (her) know. It was until a quarter past midnight when Shirou heard the front door open.
"You better have a good reason for coming back this late without letting anyone know!" He shouts at the latecomer. He looks over and finds his brother carrying a woman he didn't know. "Please tell me you haven't turned into a perv that kidnaps women over these last five years."
"Of course not. I have a good reason for this, but that will have to wait. She is in need of a little help so I'll explain afterwards." Mason tells him as he carries her to an empty room.
"If she needs help then you should have brought her to the hospital, not to our home." The redhead follows.
"Well," Mason rest her on the bed, "the help she needs isn't the kind the hospital can provide."
Shirou arches his brow, "And what does she need then?" He sees the woman is clearly physically hurt and his brother looks worn out.
"Long story short, she's a servant and is low on mana. There was a fight and I managed to get her out of there. I'll give you more details later, but let's see about getting her better first." Mason explains.
"A servant? Well that's concerning for many different reasons, but if you trust bringing her here then I'll trust your judgment. Now you say she's low on mana?" Shirou says thoughtfully. "Shouldn't her master be able to supply her some?"
"Well he is dead, so she currently has no master."
"That's not good. Well we have a couple options for transferring mana to her at the moment. There might be more, but as you know Dad wouldn't say too much about this sort of thing. The first option is sex. It would provide her a lot of mana for her to sustain herself for a few more days."
Mason shakes his red face fast. "Nononono! That's wrong on so many levels. One of which is that she's currently unconscious and that'd pretty much be rape."
"Not pretty much, it actually would be. I do agree with you on not doing that. Even if I strive to be a Hero of Justice, there are limits to what I'll do to save someone. Let's scratch that one. Another would be giving her blood. From Dad's notes, Servants can feed off people to gain mana from them. Although I'm not sure how to feel on this one. I'm not sure how much to give her without one of us dying from it. Well I have Avalon so I could-"
"Yeah how about no. Even with Avalon, I know you well enough to know that you would probably gladly give your life saving her."
"You know I don't want to die, but if I do end up dying one day saving someone then so be it."
Mason smacks him on the back of the head, "See that's what I'm talking about. I admire your commitment to pursue your dream, but you really need to cut that suicidal hero crap. Anyways we can have this discussion later. Let's get back to the task at hand."
Shirou rubs the back of his head, "Fine. Well since you cut that idea down and I doubt either of us are comfortable enough to feed her a random stranger, the only other option I can think of is Avalon. But since Dad's servant isn't around, it will be like putting a simple bandage on a heart wound."
"Actually," Mason says thoughtfully. "What if we use Avalon as a conduit of sorts? I can channel the Force through it and it might take it and convert it into mana."
"Hmm, it's worth a shot at least." Shirou agrees.
He reaches within himself and pulls out Avalon and places it on Caster. Mason moves closer and places his hand on it to begin to use the Force. At first it doesn't appear to work, but after a couple minutes her injuries slowly begin to heal. Mason keeps it up and after a half hour Caster's injuries are healed. After another forty-five minutes, Shirou notices that her mana levels are at a safe enough level for her to sustain herself for a day or two. Mason collapses on the floor in exhaustion. Shirou grabs Avalon and gives it to his brother then brings him to the living room. Shirou rests him down in front of the table and goes to heat up some leftover dinner.
"Here eat this. I doubt you ate anything since we got out of school earlier."
Mason eats the food and takes a minute to catch his breath. "Alright, I think I'm good now. Man, who knew doing something like that would drain me so much?"
Shirou sighs in relief before turning his face to a stern expression. "Well I think you better let me in on what is going on now."
Mason gives Shirou the story of events about what happened at the temple.
"You brought Sakura into a warzone?!" To say Shirou was pleased would be a lie.
"Hey in my defense I didn't plan on walking into that." Mason tries to convince him.
"Well you should have obviously known of the danger involved in following this cult!"
"I did, but she wouldn't take no for an answer. Honestly if you saw the way she persisted, you wouldn't believe she is the shy girl everyone sees her as. I can give you my word that I made sure she got out of there before that dark side warrior or that Shadow appeared."
"You threw her into the forest. That's not what I call 'made sure she got out'."
"Again, she wasn't taking no for an answer. Anyways, she got away from the battlefield and will be back tomorrow. She's seen me using the Force and I promised her an explanation."
Shirou just sighs, "Fine we'll table this until she gets back but if she is hurt in any form then I'll make sure Fuji-nee is made aware of what you did and I'm sure I don't need to explain what she'll do to you." Mason glup. "Well let's talk about everything else now. First, what is this cult?"
"It's called 'The Cult of Nihilus'. Let's start at the beginning before they became a cult. As I told you before, the Sith are an ancient enemy of the Jedi. They are two sides of the Force coin. Jedi with the light side and Sith the dark side. Darth Nihilus falls into the Sith category but he wasn't just any Sith, he was a Dark Lord of the Sith and a fearful one at that. During a battle, he survived a blast from a superweapon and changed him. He began to crave Force energy while the affliction from the superweapon ravaged his body making him a wound in the Force. Eventually the affliction made him have to use the dark side to become a spirit encased within his mask and armor to stay alive." Mason starts.
"I didn't even think such a thing was possible even with everything I saw you do with the Force."
"Well the dark side is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural," Mason explains. "Anyways he was known to absorb the Force energy from people and even entire planets just to feed his hunger. It's why he is also called the 'Lord of Hunger'. Eventually he was defeated and they buried his armor and mask in hopes of him never returning. What is left of him is on a Sith holocron so he, himself, is not a threat to anyone at the moment."
"'He himself'? What does that mean?" Shirou asks.
"It means he won't be able to be a threat to anyone directly as he is now, but he can still be a threat indirectly. See this is where the cult comes in. I believe they may have come across his holocron and he's been manipulating them. To what end? Other than reviving himself, I'm not sure but it can't lead to anything good."
Shirou rests his hand on his chin, "This is worrisome. We pretty much have a death god cult in our city that actually has a chance of reviving him. We also have a servant here, which means we also probably have a Holy Grail War coming sooner than we originally expected. On top of that, we also have some Shadow going around killing people. How are we going to deal with these three things at the same time?"
"I believe that we don't need to treat this as different things."
Shirou arches his brow, "And why is that?"
"Well the cult seemed interested in the servant there, so my guess is that they are interested in the grail as well."
"Ok, but that doesn't explain the Shadow."
"I believe I have a theory on that," a new voice says. They both turn towards the voice to see Caster standing in the doorway. Mason quickly hands Avalon back to Shirou and grabs the lightsaber he stole from Skorr. "Now hold on boys," she tells them, "I'm not going to fight you. You saved me from dying, so it'd be rude of me to spit at your hospitality by fighting you both."
Mason puts the lightsaber down and asks, "Alright so what's your theory?"
She sits down at the table with them, "Well I am connected to the Grail since I'm a servant and being a Caster, I can feel the Grail's mana coming off that Shadow but feels tanited. So my theory is that someone probably took pieces from a previous Grail and corrupted it with something nasty. Even when I was unconscious, I still felt that horrible feeling coming from it."
"So what I'm getting is that this Holy Grail War is going to be all kinds of messed up," Shirou grits his teeth. "By the way, how are you feeling Caster?"
"I'm fine by the way, thanks. I don't know what you used to refill my mana, but it felt different than what mana is supposed to feel. It's rejuvenating." She tells them.
Mason raised this hand, "That would be from me. We didn't have a sure fire way to refill your mana without breaking any morals, so I used an alternative source."
"Is this source the Force thing you were talking about?" Mason nods to her question. "I hope you didn't mind me listening in on you, but you were fairly loud and it was hard not to."
"So I'm guessing you heard about-"
"Yes I heard about Souichirou-sama," She starts getting irritated. "Those bastards took him away from me! They'll regret making an enemy out of me!"
She starts to stand, but Mason catches her arm. "Hold on a second. Now you just got your ass handled by them already when you had a master. What makes you think you can take them on with a limited mana pool? You'll just end up dying for nothing."
"They killed my beloved! Dying means nothing to me anymore. I will go and get vengeance for him!" She tries to pull free from him, but Mason holds on.
"Now you're just being stupid. I'm trying to tell you that you will die before you even get your chance to. Look, we have similar goals so let's make an arrangement."
"What kind of arrangement?" She asks Mason.
Shriou looks at his brother, "Are you doing what I think you're doing?"
Mason replies, "Yes I am. Caster we both want this cult gone, but the cult seems interested in the Grail."
"I think I get what you're going with this," she says. "You want a servant for the Holy Grail War."
He agrees. "Yes, although neither my brother or I are interested in the Grail. We just don't want it falling into the hands of the wrong people, such as this cult. Besides, I am probably your best bet for you to get your revenge."
She looks at Mason, "Well although I don't much like the idea of moving onto a new master after Souichirou-sama's death, I can't really say there's much I can argue with your statement. Give me until morning before I give you my answer. I need time to grieve before I can give you a proper answer."
"Alright I can wait. Feel free to rest in the room we put you in."
"Thanks I will take you up on that offer." She then leaves the room.
"Well that went better than expected." Mason says.
"Yeah with the Holy Grail War starting, it's best we get all the help we can." Shirou agrees. "By the way, what is all that stuff you brought with you?"
"These are the weapons the cult members had that I had to use." He lays the three weapons on the table and points to one. "This is a blaster pistol. It's pretty much like a laser gun from the sci-fi movies." He then points to the two broken pieces of a sword, "This is a cortosis blade. It's made of one of the few materials that can block a lightsaber. Though as you can see, there's only so much it can take before it breaks. It's a metal afterall and the heat coming from a lightsaber will start to weaken it after a while."
Shirou takes the broken sword, "Trace on" he studies it. "I think I might be able to do something with this if you don't mind me borrowing it from you."
Mason shakes his head, "Not at all. I actually brought it back since you seem to have a knack for fixing broken things, especially with your magic. You can keep it in case you have a run in with Skorr or any others like him who has a lightsaber."
"Oh thanks! Wait, if I'm keeping this then what are you going to use for this Skorr character?" The redhead asks.
"Oh I have something better," Mason grins and ignites the orange blade. "This my dear brother is a lightsaber."
Shirou's eyes go wide, "Wow. I never would have thought to ever see one. It really does look like a laser sword."
"Yep it does, although it's much more than a laser sword. The kyber crystal in the lightsabers are connected to the Force, so naturally those trained in it have an easier time using one than someone who isn't." Mason explains.
Shirou nods along with his brother's explanation and tries to trace the lightsaber, but to no success. "Hmmm, I can't seem to trace it at all. It's like it rejected me."
"That's no surprise. Lightsabers aren't meant to be like other average weapons. Since they share a connection to the Force, they tend to have a will of their own. It probably didn't want to be analyzed. Each saber is different and isn't meant to be replicated." Mason turns it off.
"So you say each one is different? Does that mean the blade is different for each one?" Shirou asks.
Mason tilts his head. "Yes and no. See the kyber crystal will emit a different color depending on the person, but there aren't too many different colors. There are about eight different colors, but only about three are the most used. There are probably more, but eight are the current known colors."
"Is there a specific reason for each color being different, or are they mostly just fun customizations?" He asks again.
"There are meanings for each color. First is-" Mason starts to begin.
"STOP!" Shirou cries out. "I'm sure there are great philosophical reasons for them, but I'm not about to sit here and listen to something that doesn't have any meaning here."
Mason frowns, "Why did you ask then?"
"Well I was just curious and forgot that you go on a full on five hour lecture when it comes to anything about the Force. It's already way past one in the morning and I rather go to bed when it's still dark outside," Shirou sighs.
"I don't take that long. I just get excited when explaining things," Mason pouts.
Shirou waves him off, "Yeah yeah sure. You can go over the color meanings later, but I suggest we go to bed. There's nothing we can do about anything at the moment, and we can plan better after some rest."
A dark figure is pinned to a tree near the temple. He is completely covered in black with the only thing of a different color being the white skull mask over his face. What is pinning him he doesn't know. Some kind of invisible force is all he can guess and whatever this force is, it's causing him to choke with his left arm over his throat. His cursed right arm is laying a few feet from his body. He curses himself for being in this situation. First he tore through that fake assassin's body, then he escaped the temple to find a suitable master only to run into some freaky bitch with powers and weapons he has never known about even with the Holy Grail giving him information about human history up to this point.
Whoever this bitch is, she is not to be taken lightly. He at first tried to do what assassins did best and sneakily kill her, but she somehow managed to foil that plan like she got some kind of warning. After that he started to throw as many daggers as he could from as many different angles he could get to, but that plan failed as well. Many of those daggers didn't even make it to her with them either being mysteriously redirected or just stopping dead in their tracks. What did make it to her was destroyed by that double sided red bladed weapon of hers. His speed seemed to not matter either since she apparently knew where he would appear at, so he couldn't even get close to get a lucky kill in. But the thing that surprised him the most was when he got desperate and decided to use his Noble Phantasm, Zabaniya, on her. She managed to cut his arm off before his cursed arm could even reach her heart. He hates how that bitch of a human who wasn't even a servant managed to beat him. Granted assassins are generally the weakest class of the Holy Grail War, but they specialize in killing masters and the bitch somehow got his Presence Concealment.
"Well if this is all you so called 'assassin' can do, I'd suggest you go back to school on how to hide yourself," the 'bitch' said walking up to the immobile servant with her lightsaber drawn. She has dirty blonde hair and is wearing similar black armor that Skorr is wearing. Sure the armor that the Sith Empire used is thousands of years old, but they still wear it with pride.
Assassin gasps for air, "Do not speak to me about what an assassin should do. I spent my entire living life doing that type of work. I know what to do."
"Well obviously you either failed constantly or only ever killed easily defenseless newborn with the 'skills' you have." She taunts.
"Tch," he clicks his tongue. "Release me and I will show you the skill I have to kill you!"
"Oh you have more to show me? I hardly believe that. Isn't your trump card laying on the ground over there?" She points to the severed arm.
"Enough with your taunts, if you are here to kill me then finish it already."
She looks at him with her yellow bloodshot eyes, "Kill you? No, we have another propose for you that will lead us to the Grail."
His brow raises, "So the Grail is your interest? If you wanted to become my master, then surely you could have mentioned that before I lost my arm because now I am not inclined to join you."
This causes her to start laughing uncontrollably, "Hahahahahaha! You really think I'm here to try to participate in this stupid 'war' like all the other pathetic being on this planet? Hahahahaha! You are sorely mistaken. No my cult and I have another use for you. See there are other ways of using the Grail than what everyone believes and the way to do it is so much more fun! Well fun for me. You on the other hand, not so much. Sadly my master wasn't able to get the witch at the temple, but we can make do with you."
Assassin grunts, "If you think pain worries me then you have another thing coming. I wasn't an Old Man of the Mountain for nothing."
She leans to his ear, "Oh you dear poor fool, do you believe you know pain? That's so cute. I love it when I get a fighter like you. It makes it so much more delicious when I finally break you. You see the pain you'll feel will be both mental and physical. And since you're a servant, you'll be able to endure this luxury of mine a lot longer than our previous test subjects." She then lustly licks the side of his face. With this, the servant shivers. Whatever this sadistic bitch has plans for him, it brought a fear almost as great as meeting the first Hassan.
She then stops and grows a frown. She backs away from him and outstretches her hand. A moment later a bug of some kind is pulled into her grip. She studies it for a second before waving a finger at it, "Tsk tsk tsk. Didn't your mother ever tell you eavesdropping is rude? Since I'm in such a good mood after getting a new plaything, I'll let you off with a warning this time. Don't let me catch you near me or anyone in my association again otherwise what I'm about to do with this servant will look like a simple smack on the wrist. And no amount of bugs will help you escape my full attention." She then gets an evil grin and squashes the bug in her hand.
Zouken Matou is not in a very good mood at the moment. He sent a bug to spy on his adopted granddaughter and the new Emiya brother that came to the city. And the information he got was both a blessing and a curse. A blessing because he found out some of what the boy could do and the progress he has made with Sakura is showing results, but that's where the good stops. Everything else is a very tough obstacle to overcome. For one, he knows next to nothing of what this cult is or what they can do. The best he can guess is that they are technology more advanced than regular humans are supposed to be and the leader with his apprentice can use some sort of power that he has never seen nor known. Granted the regular foot soldiers can't do anything to the Shadow, but he'd rather not test what those two would be able to do to it at its infancy. His best bet for getting rid of those two would be the silver haired boy since he seems to be able to use the same powers. Lastly he had originally intended to form a contract with Assassin, but it was foiled by that woman.
Perhaps I should wait out this war and focus on the next one, he thinks. No, from what the Emiya boy told Sakura, these cult members have a plan for the Grail that may release an evil that could destroy the world, as well as ruin any chance for there to be another Holy Grail War. That cult needs to be removed or else any and all future plans will go to ruin. This also means I can't be giving off the only servant in this family to someone like my grandson for too long. He is not a magus nor as the magica to properly support the servant. I will give him one chance to do something, but if he fails then I will no longer have any use for him. Unlike in the past where he could be useful in handling Sakura, I doubt the two Emiya boys put together would allow him to drag her back if she ends up in their care. I must play this cautiously. He then walks to the basement to observe the purple haired girl who walked away from being shot to bits earlier this night.
The next day the two Emiya brothers are getting set up for breakfast when a third person steps into the room.
"Good morning Caster, care to eat with us?" Shirou asks her as he and Mason set the table.
"Servants don't need to eat food like you both but seeing as I am currently in your care, it would be rude to refuse." She says taking a seat.
"Well my offer is still there if you wish to fix that problem." Mason tells her.
"Thanks," She says before taking a bite. "This food is quite good. If this food is included in the deal then I may consider joining you."
"Well I'm certain I can talk to the chef about making the arrangement of cooking more often if you do accept." Mason says.
Shirou grunts, "I'm always cooking, so even without the so-called 'arrangement' who cooks will not change. You can't cook to save your life and Fuji-nee only comes here to eat. Sakura is the only other one who cooks, but if the Holy Grail War is starting then maybe it's best if she didn't come as often."
"You're so mean Shirou. But I doubt we can just push Sakura aside after being involved in last night's event." Mason tells him.
"This 'Sakura' you two are talking about wouldn't happen to be that girl who was with you last night right?" Caster asks.
Mason nods, "It is. She managed to escape before that Shadow appeared so she should be fine. Though about keeping her away, what she saw last night would leave her with a lot of questions and coming over will be the only way for her to get some answers."
Shirou sighs, "I hate when you're right. Fine then, you will talk to her at school to try and convince her to get more involved than she already is."
"I guess I can do that." Mason replies. "Anyways we are getting sidetracked. Caster, have you made your decision about the offer?"
Caster puts her chopsticks by her empty plate. "I have. As much as I hate to admit it, I'm currently powerless enough to effectively do anything to avenge my Souichirou-sama. I could go and try to find a suitable person in the city I could manipulate into doing my bidding, but it would be better to just go with you since ending that cult is both of our objectives. So yes, I'll agree to make you my master. But I should state that if you try to do anything funny with me then I will not hesitate to kill both of you."
"I can accept those terms." Mason tells her. "Should we go ahead and get this contract over with or would you prefer to wait?"
Caster stands up, "Let's just do it now. I'd rather not wait until later in case one of us encounters them or any other servants and ends up dead with our plan gone to waste."
"Alright, I'll let you take the lead." He says.
They both go out to the backyard and begin the ritual to form the contract. When the ritual is complete, the two boys immediately feel a power surge come from Caster. Mason looks down at the back of his hand to see a red tattoo appear on it. If his history from the Jedi academy is correct, appears to be a similar shape of the Marek family crest (the Rebel Alliance insignia.)
"Well I have the command seals and that surge of power from you seems to indicate that it is a success." Mason proclaims.
"Indeed. The power I feel is a rush I haven't felt since the Age of Gods. I do not know what power you hold, but it is very potent. After feeling this, I'd be a fool to even consider having a different master when we take down that cult." She tells them. "We should definitely sit down so I can properly gauge what you can do before we can make any sort of plans."
"I agree. While I know you're a powerful mage, I wish to know the same for you. I'm assuming you can go into spirit form correct?" She nods at his question. "Great. We can discuss this during school then."
She arches a brow, "School? Surely you know that wouldn't be a great idea given everything that is happening."
"I'm afraid that isn't an option," Shirou pipes up, "Our guardian is a school teacher and wouldn't be pleased if we ended up skipping, no matter the reason."
"Yeah she has the spirit of a tiger and I'd rather face a hoard of gundarks than her anger," Mason agrees. "Besides we could maybe find another master hiding in the school as well. It wasn't until last night that I knew that one of the teachers was one."
She drops her head, "I can tell there seems no arguing with you two about this. I guess that would still give me a chance to speak to my master about certain things. I'm not about to give out my true name to someone other than my master."
Mason nods, "That's probably a good idea. Shirou's mind isn't strong enough to prevent other people from looking inside of it."
"Hey don't insult me in front of you!" Shirou shouts.
"It's true brother. You're like an open book. Perhaps Caster here can help you with that problem."
Caster looks at the redhead, "So you're a magus? Normally I'd refuse but seeing as you two are a pair, it wouldn't do to have a weak link in our corner."
"And they still keep insulting me," Shirou pouts.
"Come on Caster. We can pester my brother later." Mason tells her.
During school the conversation between Mason and Caster in his head was quite insightful. Mason explained about the Force while Caster told him her true name, Medea, and what she would be able to do. Needless to say, Mason was glad he got her. Her knowledge of magic exceeds anything he could ever imagine. By the time school ended, they already have a good knowledge about how each other operate and how they can support each other in the coming fights. He would have met up with Shirou, but he was needed to help fix something at school so he just aimlessly walked out of school until he came across a familiar girl.
"Sakura! Good to see you are okay!" Mason tells the girl.
Sakura jumps for a moment before turning to face him, "Oh Mason. You startled me."
"Sorry about that. You never came by the house this morning, so I was worried." She sheepishly says.
"Ah, I couldn't make it. I was needed to do something at home this morning and didn't have time." She replies.
"Alright well I'm just glad to see you unharmed." He says.
"Unharmed, yeah…" Sakura looks down from memories, or was it a dream, of people shooting her to pieces.
Mason gets a worried look, "Um Sakura, you okay?"
She snaps out of her thoughts, "Oh.. um.. Yeah I'm fine. I was just wondering about what you did to me last night."
Mason gets an uncomfortable feeling after every student's eyes shift to him from the comment. "Umm… Perhaps this isn't a great place to talk about this. Let's go somewhere else."
He takes her hand and heads off from the students around him. It takes a moment before he realizes he's holding her hand and blushes. He would have noticed Sakura blushing as well if he turned around, but he was too embarrassed to do so. Caster just laughs watching the two. He leads her to an empty park before he finally releases her hand.
"Umm… Sorry about that." Mason says, still blushing.
"I-it's fine," Sakura mumbles blushing as well.
The two find themselves in an uncomfortable silence before one of them speaks up.
"I guess I should explain myself," Mason starts. Sakura looks at him waiting for him to continue. "First, you must be wondering what I used on you last night right? Well I can use a power called the Force. To sum up what it is, it's an energy field around everything and everyone. And some people, like me, are Force sensitive and can use that energy to have a sort of power. That power can be a variety of things including telekinesis, which I used to push you away."
"But I've never heard of anyone being able to do such a thing." She says.
"Well it's not surprising. I doubted until recently that there would be anyone on this planet who can use the Force."
"On this planet? What do you mean by that?" Sakura asks.
Mason sighs. "Caster, would you mind going and patrolling around the area? I'm not comfortable letting you know something I've never told anyone other than my family."
"Fine I will, but I'm staying close enough to protect you in case someone attacks us." She tells him before leaving still in spirit form.
"Well I mean I'm not from this planet," Mason explains.
Sakura raises her brow, "What, like you're an alien?"
"Only in definition, but I'm still very much human."
"Does Shirou and Taiga-san know about this?" She asks.
Mason tilts his head, "Shirou knows, but Taiga doesn't. The only reason Shirou knows is because Father found both of us in that disaster and adopted us both. We are both victims of something that day, but from different things. Regardless of what those things were, the outcome of where we ended is the same. I won't go into what happened to Shirou since it's something personal enough that I'd betray his trust if I told you."
"Oh I understand," Sakura says, but is disappointed from not learning more about Shirou. "Wait, you said you wouldn't share about Shirou, but does that mean you'll share what happened to you?"
Mason nods, "Yeah I will. I don't know why I would since this is something not even Shirou nor our father knows. Guess there's just something about you that I just feel the need to open up more."
A light blush forms on Sakura's face. A secret he's willing to only tell me?! I know I wanted to know more about him, but to think I got this far already makes my heart beat faster. What is wrong with me? I love Senpai. I know this. But why do I feel happy that he is opening up to me, making me feel what I feel for Senpai? Perhaps it's because he never acknowledges me as a woman. Wait, what was that? Sure Senpai won't see me as a woman, but that doesn't mean I should go after Mason. And why not? The way he stood in front of me at the temple to block me from the cult proves he values me. But that doesn't mean anything. He could have just been like Senpai on the way he sees me. The fact that he is willing to trust me enough to share this kind of secret says otherwise. Besides, the look he's always given me is nothing like the look Senpai or anyone else gives me. I don't understand what's going on, but this is not the time for this. Let's see what he has to say first. She gets her head out of her thoughts and looks at Mason, "I'm willing to keep your secret safe if you feel like you need to tell me."
Mason smiles, "Thanks Sakura. Take a seat because it's going to be quite the story. It starts in a galaxy far far away."
Author's Notes:
Well I'm sorry it took a month for the next update everyone. Turns out writing two stories at the same time isn't as easy as I thought. Kept getting tons of ideas for my other story while this one I couldn't think of much. Though I finally found something I liked enough to write. For the most part this chapter I'm satisfied with. I'm especially happy with how the female apprentice came out. Yes she's another OC, but is that really a surprise by this point? If you're worried about the power level of these OCs I'm creating, don't worry about them being unbeatable. Sure they can take on Assassin, but they ain't taking on Hercules without some serious help. Moving on, the Mason/Sakura relationship may be happening somewhat fast, but to my knowledge Fate Stay Night take place in a week or so and Shirou the harem protag gets with a girl within that timeframe. Although I should say that I could have made smoothen out their relationship better than I have. Perhaps I will revise this in the future when I get better at writing. This note is getting rather large so I should rap this up with one last thing. I'm sure you can guess by the end that next chapter will be Mason's background story during Order Sixty-Six. Stay tuned for that. I also have a review to answer.
keybladelight: Yes I plan on doing a Mason x Sakura and a Shirou x Saber in this story. I updated the pairing to show as much. About Mason's own lightsaber color, well he currently doesn't have a lightsaber of his own. As to why will be explained in the next chapter. However about the comment about him going back to the path of the Jedi... well let's just say there's no coincidence that he ended up with a orange lightsaber. Also on this point, there's a reason I didn't pick an already established character for a specific reason.
Anyways that's all from me. I'll talk at y'all next time!
