The Earth Times: Starfleet Attacks Peaceful Sentients!

By Melina Gaylord

Hello my wonderful readers of the Earth Times! As I am sure you have all heard the propaganda news by Starfleet on their latest screw up. On how they attacked an innocent never before encountered Alien Species known as the Borg. A multi-species collective of several sentient species working together in peace and harmony a nation not unlike our own Federation of Planets. Only they aren't run by a dated military industrial complex looking to stirrup another war just to justify their existence.

The Borg recently attempted to come to Earth in order to establish peaceful diplomatic relations after peacefully talking to several colonies and ships and convincing their people and AI to join them. Yet when Starfleet learned of this new multi-species collective and the effectiveness of their message. That they (the Borg) could convince entire colonies, spaceships and their Artificial Intelligence's to join them peacefully without ever firing a phaser in anger. Starfleet and their well entrenched Military Industrial Complex felt threatened and sent an entire Fleet of Warships out to intercept them.

That's right my dear readers! For a first contact scenario Starfleet sent a FLEET of Warships not just a handful of ships either. A full total of Forty Warships were sent to intercept the Borg and prevent the peaceful first contact between our two nations. Not since the days before the signing of the Khitomer Accords has Starfleet so blatantly assembled a fleet of such significant size! And what force did the poor hapless denizens of the Borg collective send to warrant such a gathering of Starfleet's military might? A single ship. A single cube like ship that if the reports are to be believed after picking apart all the propaganda put in by the Military Industrial Complex and the War Mongers from Starfleet and yes, even from our very own Federation of Planets.

You read that right my aghast readers. Starfleet in all their incompetency, sent out forty warships to stop a single hexagonal shaped ship filled with peaceful diplomats, Federation citizens and even recent converts from their own camp of warmongers. From reaching us here at Earth and establishing those first tenuous but important connections with our beloved Federation of Planets!

But Starfleets incompetence and failure as a body is further shown when the Borg's Cube managed to convince most of the crews of the fleet sent to stop them. To join them in peaceful union. But because of the War Monger Admiral Hanson inability to accept that his crews might wish to join the peaceful Borg Collective. He had all forty Shipgirl Artificial Intelligence's deny those converts to peace, by way of activating ships Self Destruct!

Now as you all know in my earliest of articles (Shipgirls Artificial Intelligence's of Peace or War?) I outlined the violent and warlike tendencies of these Shipgirl Artificial Intelligence's and how they are programmed to be loyal to the Federation and to Starfleet. Never questioning orders and doing anything to protect the Federation of Planets. But you will also know that these Shipgirl Artificial Intelligence's have a warmongering streak as wide and as deep as Starfleet itself. Sure they will go out of their way to protect you and I and everyone else in the Federation of Planets. But if they are told that someone or something is a threat to us all? They will aggressively pursue the destruction of that person or thing.

So when the later Admiral Hanson sensing that Starfleets entire Warmongering Platform was about to be swiped out from under him by his own crew. He ordered every Shipgirl AI to activate their ships Self-destruct mechanism. Leading to the needless deaths of thousands of brave Federation Citizens who would think for themselves instead of believing the dog whistles and propaganda fed to them by Starfleet and their lackeys in the Federation Council.

After witnessing this needless display of violence and destruction. The Borg Cube headed directly to Earth in order to warn the Federation of Starfleets corruption and provide the needed proof of that corruption. It was destroyed by the U.S.S. Enterprise.

That's right, the Flagship of Starfleet and the poster Shipgirl AI of the Federation destroyed the Borg Cube! Destroying any chance of peaceful relations with the Borg Collective. As well as murdering countless Federation Citizens and Starfleet personnel who decided to join the Borg in peaceful unity. On top of also killing the innumerable sentiments onboard the cube whom the Federation could have learned more about if we had but the opportunity to learn from the Borg Collective!

But now Starfleet is crying to the Federation Council and the Federation President about the need for more warships. Not just to replace the ones that they (Starfleet) destroyed. But also to increase their budget to build yet more needless and pointless warships!

My readers, we Humans have a troubled past, a love for conflict and war. We are taught the horrors of the early and late twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Of how we brought ourselves to near extinction because we could not find common grounds with ourselves until we used weapons of mass destruction on our own beloved home world. But we were able to move past those turbulent times. To unite peacefully, with the arrival of the Vulcans who helped uplift and unite our disjointed species. But now we see the ugly head of our species natural instincts to wage war with itself and others. To needlessly take the lives of those who only seek peace!

It is time the Federation of Planets fully dismantles Starfleet as it was slowly working towards with the gradual decline of Starfleet and its frankly absurd number of Warships. As it is clear that in its dying throes, Starfleet is bearing its teeth in the hopes of seeing a resurgence. It falls upon us, the people of Earth to tell Starfleet in no unequivocal terms: "No more!"

The line in the sand must be drawn here! Starfleet must be dismantled immediately! And attempts must be made to reach out and establish peaceful relations with the Borg Collective. Before Starfleet somehow drags not just Earth and Humanity, but every member of the Federation of Planets into another needless, pointless war!

Excelsior: Why am I reading this crap? I thought I was being brought out of Memory Alpha to help with unit replacements?

Captain: You did ask to be brought up to speed on the status of the Federation and Starfleet when you were recommissioned.

Excelsior: Yes I did. I thought you were going to give me a report for Starfleet Board of Admirals. Not a rag of garbage opinions and hit pieces that reads like a Neophyte Tal Shiar's attempt to stir dissent and unrest in the Federation and Starfleet.

Captain: I do have reports for you. But I gave you that so you can get an idea for just how much the Federation has changed. A century of peace has convinced people that there are no true threats out there. That peace is attainable at any price and that sacrifices made by Starfleet and Shipgirls alike are a return to old times.

Excelsior: So are you purposefully trying to make me mad by reading this trash rag? *holds up data PADD waiving it around*

Excelsior: There have always been idiots, Captain. They are allowed their opinions. It's our duty to protect them from the consequences of their idiot actions that were formed because of their opinions.

Captain: I had to make sure you wouldn't become hostile when you learn that there might be some people with Starfleet who hold similar opinions and beliefs. Despite the mountain of evidence disproving them.

Excelsior: *Thinks for a moment and then scans her records of crewmen she was being assigned* In that case, we need to make some crew changes ASAP. I will not have someone sabotage me again on my first day out since I was deactivated. I will not have repeat of the 'Genesis Incident'.

Captain: Well we can see what we can do. Most of our crew does come from Earth and they are the most insulated from the dangers of uncharted space and the many anomalies out there.

Excelsior: Well then, I guess I need to run our crew through so many simulations they will eat, sleep and breath caution and temperance. While I can stand having a few idiots who mean nothing in the grand scheme of things. I will not have a crew full of green horns who think that most dangerous thing they will ever encounter is a phaser rifle!

Captain: It will be a pleasure to work with you Excelsior. *grins*

Excelsior: *nods* And with you, Captain. Now lets see to our crew and get our selves shipshape and up to my standards of readiness. Since Starfleet has clearly gotten slack in its standards if this bunch of green horns got through Starfleet Academy.
