Waking up, Shido sat up and grabbed his head as he felt his tired mind start to slowly wake up. In no less than a couple seconds, his mind was fully awake and he looked around him.
"Did you have a nice sleep, Senpai?" Mash asked Shido, as she stood near him, offering a hand for him to stand.
Shido took her hand and as he stood up, saw Olga who was still sound asleep. Something he smiled at when he recalled how he finally broke through to her last night.
"What's up Master? Planning on making that chick fall for you even more? Or are you moving onto the next target?" Shido groaned as he sent an annoyed glare at Angra, who materialized himself just by the door.
"Why do you keep saying that? I'm not in the business of making anyone fall in love with me." Shido sent Angra an annoyed look, which the Heroic Spirit didn't even seem to care about.
"Mash. Do you know where Caster is?" Shido made sure to refer to Cu as his class, as he had been warned to do earlier the day before, just incase anyone set up some sort of familiar to keep an eye on them.
"That mutt left yesterday, before you woke up. I didn't bother to stop him, but what do you think he's doing? You think he might've betrayed you-"
"—Don't talk about me like that, you bastard." Cu walked into the room, his frown changed into a grin as he pulled something from behind his back. "I figured ya would wanna get something to eat before we went and fought Saber."
"Food? Where did you get that?" Mash voiced her question as they saw Cu holding some canned meat and assortment of ingredients, the containers holding it being rather worse for wear.
"There are some places that still aren't destroyed yet, like a couple of basements in some houses. So I went there and stole some stuff there for you guys to eat."
"Why didn't we just go rest over there then?"
Cu sighed as he heard Shido's question. "I would wanna do that too, but they are further away from Saber's base than here so it would be better to stay here. Plus, it's close to the area Rider stays in so it's a pretty big danger."
Shido felt a bit of regret because Cu had faced the prospect of death just to get him and Olga some food, but he ended up giving a smile while thanking him.
"Well, I gotta make sure you and the miss are fully ready before we go, so don't worry about it." Cu grinned at Shido as he handed him the assortment of food items.
Shido took a look at all the food items, which was a bunch of vegetables, beef that was mushed together roughly and a dozen bottles of water. Most likely to keep him and Olga hydrated.
..With the ingredients here, I can make a nice meal. Yet, I need some utensils and tableware. Hmm…
Shido went out the door and into the hallway, looking around him to see if there was anything to use, and while he saw some semi still intact bowls he could use, there were no knifes.
"Oi, watcha looking for Master? Though, if you wanna stay out here and be at risk to be noticed by another servant, be my guest. I'll even help by cutting you up to pieces. Kakakakakaa!" Angra's blades appeared in his hands, twirling and seeing that, a smile came onto Shido's face.
"..Oi. Why are you looking at me like that..?"
Shido gave a smile as he approached Angra. "Avenger. I have a nice idea for you to help me as a start for our agreement yesterday."
"What's going on?" A stern voice entered Shido's ears, as he smiled while turning towards the person the voice came from, Olga. Her expression was guarded and she seemed to have her usual face of cold indifference, though he noticed how her shoulders seemed to slightly relax when she settled her gaze on him.
"Caster had procured some food for you and Senpai, which Senpai then used to cook this stew." Mash gave a bright smile as she motioned towards the pot of stew that Shido was stirring with a stick.
"Don't skip over Masters' completely idiotic use of a servant. Though, I guess it's pretty fun to think about in its own way." Angra grinned, licking his blades as he lazily laid down on the floor.
"Angra, even if I don't think it's good to lick your blades clean, if you plan to do it anyway then make sure it's not while laying down. You could hurt yourself like that."
"Yeah whatever, mom." Shido sighed at Angra's words and decided to just continue on with making the stew.
"Wait..what do you mean by his 'use of a servant'?" Olga asked, her expression showing a small bit of confusion.
Mash gave a wry smile that looked a bit embarrassed. "Well..Senpai may have..used Avenger's blades to..cut the meat for the stew.."
Olga looked at Shido after hearing Mash's explanation, like she just heard the most dumb story ever and was hoping he would say that she was just joking. Yet, all Shido did was give a wry smile towards Olga.
Olga gave an exhausted sigh as she sat down near Shido.
Hmm..I thought she was gonna go off on me about how dumb it was and everything.
"I hope you don't believe that I don't find this all idiotic. I just figured that you already realized it, making there be no point in berating you for it." Shido gave a nod after hearing Olga's words, giving a quick "I'm sorry.." to her as he licked a bit of the stew that was on the stick he stirred it with.
It tasted pretty bland, not as flavorful as his usual stews he makes, but he considers it must be a result from the lack of ingredients. Plus, he only wanted to make something slightly more edible, not some mouth watering stew.
"Though, your weapons are really dull. The way you cut that meat for the kid was honestly terrible." Cu remarked to Angra, who only returned the glare sent at him with a grin.
"That is true. I doubt it could last a single second against you before breaking apart. But, it's not a weapon meant to even take people head on anyways. My weapons are ones that is meant to allow me a chance."
Shido felt a bit curious what Noble Phantasm Angra held if it wasn't his weapon, especially considering how Angra told them earlier he's not the actual Zoroastrianism god that goes by that name and was just a random villager that took that name on in life. But he did think it wouldn't be that impressive if what Angra said about it being pathetically weak and an unnecessary drain of mana was true.
"What do you mean by that?"
"His weapons are a unique type of blade, ones that have the purpose of one of them stopping the attack of a sword and the other meant to be used to attack the enemy who has their sword stuck in his weapon." Mash explained to Shido, who seemed to understand what she meant.
"Shido. Have you finished with that stew?" Olga asked Shido as he took another taste test.
"Yeah, I'm done with it. Want me to feed it to you?" Shido gave a teasing smile, pouring the stew in a makeshift bowl for Olga.
Cu and Angra let out a laugh, seemingly only having common ground for a second due to Shido's flirting, meanwhile Olga was red with embarrassment and Mash looked wide-eyed at the two of them.
"Umm..Senpai?" Mash shyly called out to Shido.
"Don't worry. I'll give you a bowl of the stew too."
She shook her head. "That's not it. I just was going to ask if you and the director had something happen between you two."
Olga froze in place for a second, no doubt multiple thoughts filled with doubt and worry forming in her mind. Yet, before she could get overcome by them, Shido handed her a bowl of stew and squeezed her arm reassuringly.
He watched as her shoulders relaxed once more, a sign she had calmed down from her earlier storm of thoughts.
"Why do you ask?"
Mash held her hands, in thought for a moment upon hearing Shido's question. "Well, before the director seemed to be a bit uncomfortable by the entire situation, yet now it seems like she's starting to slightly calm down. Even moreso as she's with you, senpai."
"Yeah, I see what you mean little Miss." Cu remarked as well, giving a sly grin to Shido, who promptly ignored him.
"Ya see, Master was able to sink his teeth into—"
"—It's just as you said, Mash! Olga and I had a bit of a talk with each other and became closer friends!" Shido immediately cut off Angra's words before he could corrupt Mash, making the Avenger sigh in disappointment at the loss.
"I'm glad you feel calmer now, director." Mash gave a bright smile, to which Olga looked a bit uncomfortable seeing directed at her.
"Anyway, enough with all this talking. How about we eat!" Angra didn't even wait for anyone to agree, as he stole the bowl Shido was going to give to Mash and started eating.
With a sigh, Shido conceded that bowl to Angra. Yet, he also had a smile at seeing how Angra was happily eating it despite the bland flavor.
He's a piece of crap..but sometimes he isn't that bad..
"So, what is the current condition back there?" Olga asked the holographic Romani displayed, who was looking a bit tired but otherwise fine.
"Everything is getting a bit better. We have healed some of the staff that were injured and they are now working on trying to stop as much damage as possible. Repairs for everything will take a while longer to start on, though we have made sure to repair as much of the command room as we could at the moment." Romani explained to Olga, who sat next to Shido with their empty bowls of stew left near the wall of the room. They had all finished the stew Shido had put together, being enough to make them feel a bit more energized yet also serving to remind Shido just how grateful he should be for even gaining any cooking skills.
Mash stood nearby the two of them, her shield placed on the ground to act as the form of communication between Chaldea's base, continuing to keep an eye out through the windows for any signs of danger while Cu leaned on the wall, his eyes closed yet Shido could tell he was prepared for anything. Though, that sense of caution and wariness seemed to be entirely lost on Shido's other servant, Angra, who just laid on the ground and fell asleep in boredom.
Shido seriously felt like such an unbothered attitude either spoke volumes of his mental fortitude, or how he couldn't care about anyone's life.
"How about the realizers for transports in Singularities?"
"They are mostly damaged at the moment, and due to the circumstances of you guys being brought to that Singularity, it's harder to send any resources with the ones that aren't completely broken."
"What about the state of the generators?"
Da Vinci appeared in the hologram with Romani, speaking up to answer the question. "The ones that were protected have some slight issues, but they're doing pretty good. Though, the output isn't exactly the best at the moment."
Knowing he would probably be useless in any further conversation, Shido stood up and went to stand watch alongside Mash.
"Is everything fine?"
Mash turned and gave a nod to Shido, making him smile as he leaned on the window she was looking outside of. Instantly, his expression soured when his gaze focused onto the scenery outside.
His vague memories of that fire back when he was a child surfaced within his mind as he wordlessly gazed at the ruined buildings, burning flames, the rising dark smoke and corpses that couldn't be identified anymore.
Kotori..Origami..
The two girls he knew that played major roles during that incident flashed through his mind, making his expression turn into a frown.
I really hope this'll be the last time..that I'll have to see any scene like this ever again..
Shido felt a rising disgust and frustration as he scanned the bodies of the dead and watched the dreary and dark scenery.
"Senpai?" Hearing a voice, Shido turned his attention away to look at Mash, who looked at him with concern.
"What is it, Mash?" Shido made sure his expression returned to a gentle smile as he spoke, trying not to worry her more than necessary.
However, that seemed to have the opposite effect as Mash only looked more worried for him.
"Senpai. Are you okay?"
Shido looked at her and gave a nod as he figured out she probably saw his face when he looked into the cityscape. "Yeah, I just got lost in some old memories."
"..Okay." Mash gave a small nod towards Shido, making him grateful for her understanding and kind nature. Though, it could also be due to her probably not knowing much about how to breach the topic herself.
"Just.." Shido looked at her, smiling and patiently waiting for her to properly find the words. "Please tell me if there is anything I can do to help you."
Seeing her gaze of worry and earnest desire to help him, Shido gave a small chuckle as he patted her head. "Thanks for that. I'll make sure to ask for your help if I ever need it."
"Okay. I finished discussing with Romani, so let us all go to deal with this Singularity." Olga spoke up, as the hologram of Romani and Da Vinci disappeared.
"Get up." Saying that, she kicked Angra who laid down with no hesitation. Which served to wake him up, but he groaned in pain as he clutched his stomach where she kicked him.
Shido sighed as he knelt beside the prone Angra, patting his back. The thought of activating [First Aid] came to his mind, but he figured it would be a waste of mana and that Angra deserved it a bit for his whole attitude in general. "Avenger? Are you okay?"
Mash picked up her shield that was used as a communication device and gave a reassuring smile towards Shido. "There's no need to worry. Even having the lowest rank of endurance for a servant is more than enough to withstand a kick like that. It would be good enough to not get hurt by things that would hurt any normal human either, as servants are generally beings more powerful than a living human being."
Angra grinned as he stood up in a flash, with Shido having stood up the second after hearing not to worry. "Aww! You ruined the fun for me. It was gonna be so fun to see how Master would react to me making it seem like I was out of commission..Maybe I could've even tricked him to think as an embodiment of All the World's Evil, I needed to build up some lust to heal. Kakakaakaaka!"
Shido groaned as he walked towards Cu who seemed to be a bit surprised by Shido approaching him.
Pointing a finger at Angra, Shido told Cu, "If he ever goes too far, you're free to do whatever you want to shut him up."
A grin immediately made its way onto Cu's face, while Angra started to backtrack on his words at seeing Cu's grin.
"..This is too much of a headache." Olga muttered, rubbing her head at seeing Angra's attempt to defend himself yet also enticing Cu to do something to him.
"I agree completely." Shido shared a look with, both giving an understanding nod at the antics they would have to deal with from now on.
"To the right!" At Shido's words, Mash quickly saw a skeleton enemy that came from her blindspot just as she was in mid swing towards another enemy.
However, the skeleton was quickly blown into bits by Olga's use of Gandr, as she then fired off the spell some more against other skeleton enemies.
"Hahaha! Seems like you are less afraid than before, did something happen? Maybe you and the kid had a nice night together to get over it?" Cu smirked suggestively at Olga and Shido, as the skeletons that charged at him were easily destroyed from one swing of his staff.
"Ya! Master had her under his thumb! Even said he 'loved' her! She seemed to be the dominant type, but I guess she was actually a submissive type!" Angra grinned, his blades decapitation the head of a skeleton and one of the hooded enemies that appeared every so often.
"Nothing like that happened!" Both Shido and Olga yelled, as Shido blocked an attack from a skeleton using one of the dropped blades of theirs, before Olga destroyed it with a Gandr.
"Master! I believe we should stop talking until we defeat these enemies!" Mash suggested, quickly striking a hooded figure that tried to attack Shido and launching their body all the way across a horde of skeletons.
"You're right! This is no time for discussion!" Olga agreed, following her words with another fire of her magecraft that destroyed a couple skeletons.
..
..
After a couple minutes, the horde of skeletons and hooded figures were defeated, leaving the group with a bit of breathing room. Well, not like any of the servants needed it, but it was very much needed for Shido.
So, he took the time to sit down to catch his breath.
"Didn't know you knew how to use a sword kid. Color me impressed." Cu remarked upon seeing one of the rusted swords from the skeletons in Shido's hands.
Now that the battle was over, Shido took a look at its rough and badly used condition. "I haven't trained to use one or anything like that, but I have fought with one before. Still, my skill with one's pretty bad."
During the battle, Shido was barely able to block blows with the help of the sword, both due to his lack of agility and the state of the weapon itself. Thankfully, he barely needed to defend himself due to the protection of Mash and Angra. Cu did help him, but was moreso focused on eliminating the horde of enemies.
He really wished he had Sandalphon to use, as when using an Angel as a weapon, the way to use it and information like that came more like instinct than anything else. So, when he had to use a weapon that wasn't an Angel, there was no such instinct on how to use or even wield it, making his lackluster swordsmanship being all he could rely on. Making it even worse, was that Sandalphon was a big broadsword, whereas the one he was using was a short sword, so the stance and everything he took when using it was unfit for the weapon he was using.
..I'm going to try learning how to use a sword after this is over..
Shido took the lesson to heart, and he then turned his attention towards Cu, who was talking with Olga.
"I see. Okay." Olga turned to Shido and Mash, as Angra was just dematerialized for the sake of saving up the most amount of mana as they could. "Mash Kyrielight."
Mash stiffened at her name being called and looked at Olga. "Yes director?"
"We decided that before we go against Saber, we need you to learn how to use your Noble Phantasm. So, you will have a battle against Caster to help stimulate your abilities as a Heroic Spirit."
..Oh yeah. I kinda forgot with everything going on, but Mash doesn't even know how to activate her Noble Phantasm, does she?
Cu moved himself away from Olga, and turned to Mash with a grin on his face. "Now little Miss, you should know even if this is a spar and that kid is my Master, I'm not going to hold back on you. I'll hit you with everything I got."
"What-" The second Mash tried to yell out to Cu, he already was upon her. Swinging his staff into her shield and Mash was barely able to block in time.
He thrust out his free hand to grab her shield, and seeing that, Mash's mind had changed focus from trying to understand, to protecting her Master.
Cu's outstretched hand tried to get a grip on her shield, yet it failed when she swung her shield at Cu. It hit him straight in the stomach, and sent him flying into a giant piece of debris, which broke when Cu had been flung into it.
Before Shido could think of trying to check to see if he was alright, Cu had stood up from the collapsed debris with a grin plastered on his face.
"You're really making this fun, little Miss!" With those words, Cu swung his staff towards them.
Seeing that, Mash immediately firmly pressed her shield down into the ground awaiting for an attack, yet instead of it hitting her shield head on, an explosion from the ground the shield was placed into hit her directly. Her body flew, before she righted herself and hit the ground, causing a cloud of dust to appear.
Cu didn't hesitate to launch himself towards Shido, his own Master, with his staff ready to be thrust and just like Assassin before, pierce through Shido's heart.
—Yet, when Cu stood before Shido, about 2 meters of distance between them, Mash was able to block the hit. However, the impact and gradual damage caused Mash to slightly loosen her grip on her shield, which wasn't something Cu overlooked.
Using his staff, Cu hit the shield sideways, making Mash feel her arms become more numb from the hit and keeping a grip on her shield.
"—You lost, little Miss." Cu said those words as his staff was right infront of her face before she could even notice. "Now, let's try this again."
Shido had watched in awe at Cu's abilities, how easily he defeated Mash and despite being unable to properly see everything due to the limits of a human's ability to visually witness that fight, the bits he saw was enough to leave him with a sense of amazement towards Cu.
Glad he's on our side..
"Umm, Caster?"
"What is it, Master?"
"You're doing this to prepare Mash for the battle against Saber right? But, doesn't this seem a bit too harsh?"
Shido knew methods of being taught the hard way, hell, his experience of learning how to use the Angels wasn't through nice and easy in any sense of the word. So he held no doubt it was meant to help train her, but to him, the fight also seemed like Cu unnecessarily showing off his skills by beating Mash. Especially because for some reason, it felt like Cu let Mash get that one hit on him.
..Not that he would ever tell Mash that. Plus, it was only because of a hunch anyway, not anything really concrete.
"It might seem like that to you, but it's nothing compared to how my teacher taught me." Cu instinctively shivered when he seemed to recall the memory. "Plus, when you're fighting Saber, it'll be a lot worse than what I just did. She is the type that uses force to make you submit, and unluckily for us, she has enough strength to actually accomplish that. Especially with the Grail now powering her."
Hmm..Why is speaking as if he isn't going to fight with us..?
"Now then, let's continue if you can, little lady." Grinning, Cu wrote some sort of runic symbols onto his staff and Shido could practically feel the level of difference between Cu's magecraft to the ones granted to him by his Mystic Code.
"If you need to rest Mash, we can take a small break."
Mash shook her head in denial at hearing Shido's words, a smile on her face. "It's fine, senpai. I can continue."
Shido knew not to push if she felt she could continue, yet he could clearly see that she had gotten hurt from Cu's earlier attacks and cast a [First Aid] on her. She gave him thanks and prepared herself to fight Cu once more.
Mash watched Cu intently, more prepared than before after now knowing just how capable of a Heroic Spirit he is. Though, she supposes that it was disrespectful of her to think of the Hound of Ulster as anything less, even if he is missing his spear and placed into the Caster class.
Learning from before, Mash knew she couldn't let him start the battle. So, she jumped towards him and swung her shield using all the strength she could use. Yet, he simply dodged her attack and struck her stomach with his arm, which was reinforced with some runes to enhance his strength.
She may have had the [Magic Resistance] skill, but it would only get rid of magecraft that affected her, not one Cu used on himself.
So, she ended up hitting the ground hard. Pain flared through her body even with her endurance granted to her as a demi-servant. Yet, even through her pain, she knew that someone like the Hound of Ulster wouldn't waste the opportunity of her Master undefended. She forced her body up, and saw as Cu grinned while launching himself towards her Master.
Seeing that, it was as if a switch was flipped in her mind. Before she knew it, her body was already moving, the enhanced strength of a servant propelling her to get to her Master.
Thankfully, she was closer to her Master than Cu and was able to make it to him in time, making sure to raise her shield.
She knew after their first battle, that this time Cu wasn't going to stop last second. By the time he swung his staff in an arc, flames exploding and launching themselves towards her, Mash felt something.
She had no idea what it was as her brain wasn't fully capable of diverting enough attention to figure it out, but she could tell it was something that could protect her Master. So, with no hesitation, she relied on it. Magical energy flowed in through her from her Master along with from Chaldea itself.
"Aaaaaaahhhhhhh!" It coursed through her and expanded outwards and instantly upon release, she realized what it was that she had relied on to protect her Master.
"—A Noble Phantasm.." Her Master muttered in shock at seeing the fortress that was able to block the burst of flames cast by Cu's runes.
"While I would like to berate Caster for going too far, it seems like it worked in the end so let's leave it on that." The voice of the director cut in, as she walked towards her Master and helped him stand back up from being knocked to the ground, no doubt due to the impact of the collision between her Noble Phantasm and Cu's runes.
Mash felt her body get tired as all the released magical energy dissipated, and the released Noble Phantasm dispersed.
"Are you okay? Mash, Caster?" Her Master asked, concern in his eyes and voice that she could only find unfitting for a magus, yet couldn't help but enjoy despite the fact.
"I'm a little tired, but otherwise completely fine."
"Same as what the miss said. Though, what's the name of that Noble Phantasm you released?" Caster asked with a grin on his face, giving a small chuckle that reassured Mash that the battle really was over.
Mash knew how to activate it now, and the general amount of magical energy required to release it, but it was like the last detail escaped her mind. Her mind was completely blank on what the name was. Realizing that, she muttered out, "I..don't know."
"I see. The Heroic Spirit must've also hidden the name of the Noble Phantasm from you even after you learned how to activate it. For now, an impromptu name will have to make due." The director seemed to be in thought, possibly trying to decide on a name to give it. "I got it, how about we call it 'Lord Chaldeas' for now?"
Mash didn't know why, but something about the name was just right. It didn't feel complete, but there was an undeniable feeling that something about that name gave a sense of familiarity that she couldn't quite place. As if she was given a puzzle and one of the pieces was already placed in the correct spot.
"That sounds like a great name, director."
"So, that bastard is gonna be guarding Saber?" Angra asked Cu as the group was traversing more ground, Angra having materialized randomly at some point through it.
"Yeah. But, are you meant to be some other version of him or something? You guys have the exact same face. It makes me wanna punch your face in even more."
Angra gave a teasing grin, as if he enjoyed that Cu was unaware of his circumstances and thinking of ways to use that to irritate him. "Well, how about—"
Just as Angra spoke, Shido felt his body flying for a second before coming to a stop. As his vision was finally processed by his brain, he looked and saw that he was standing infront of Angra.
"Hope you can bear with that pain for me, my dear Master."
Hearing those words, Shido looked at himself and his brain was finally able to realize something, mainly being the arrow that had embedded itself into his arm. Aimed purposely infront of Angra and held up by Angra himself.
"So then you bastard, you plan to kill me off just because of a similar face? Talk about being self conscious." Saying those words, Angra didn't hesitate to grab the arrow in Shido's arm and throw it away, not caring how Shido grit his teeth in pain.
"Archer!" Cu yelled that out, just as the presence of the enemy made itself known as they had suddenly appeared infront of them.
"I see you have brought along some more people, you mutt." The cold and impassive voice of the enemy said. He was an imposing presence, his figure that of a person with tanned skin, white hair wearing a slightly torn sleeveless form fitting shirt with black pants and metal plated shoes.
His expression was unnaturally cold, as if someone had frozen all emotions in him. "Though, to think there was another with that face..It would be best to kill him now."
Before Shido could notice, an arrow was already fired from Archer's bow. The speed was at best, a blur to Shido's eyes. Yet, the blur of the arrow fired had been blocked by Mash's shield.
"Archer! What's the deal? I'm feeling a bit jealous of that kid for the murderous intent you're giving off." Cu remarked as his staff was writing runes into the ground at a speed incomprehensible to Shido's eyes.
"Feeling like I remind you of yourself too much? Well.." Angra grinned as he licked his lips and posed his head out of the protection of Mash's shield. "I am extremely similar. Even the one track mind that's so extreme it goes into the realm of insanity."
Angra immediately pulled his head back as an arrow nearly hit him, and pulled Shido at a speed that only made his stomach churn a bit.
"Why.." did you do that?
Before Shido could give voice to those thoughts, he saw what happened in the spot the arrow landed, that being a miniature explosion that would no doubt have killed him if he stayed in the same spot.
"Master!" Mash yelled out as she moved to stand infront of Shido and Angra, blocking yet another arrow that this time, exploded on contact. Still, Mash stood firm and didn't get affected by the force of the blow.
"Don't leave me dry like that, you annoying guard!" Cu had launched himself towards Archer and swung his staff towards him, forcing Archer to dematerialize his bow and use a pair of twin blades to block the blow.
Still, the blow with the strength of the great Hound of Ulster, enhanced by his runes, was able to destroy the attempt at a block easily. However, it was as if Archer expected that and jumped away just in time for the attack not to harm him.
"I see. You used runes to now lock me into a battle against you until one of us dies, you mutt." Archer remarks as his pair of twin blades rematerialized in his hands.
"Yeah. Anyway kid, you guys get to Saber while I keep this guy busy. Me and him have an unfinished battle to finally finish."
"All right. But you better get out of this alive!" Shido ran past Archer alongside Mash and Angra as he yelled that out to Cu.
Cu grinned as he heard the words of his Master. "Heh. There's no way this bastard can beat me anyway."
Cu and Archer remained still, waiting for the other to move as Shido left alongside his two other servants.
"You should be aware that there's no chance for them to defeat Saber the way she is now." Archer coldly states, as if it's a fact cemented in stone and there was no way to overturn that.
"You may be right that they barely have any chance at all, especially with whatever happened to her to make her like that." Cu gave a cocky grin towards Archer. "But, my Master is a kid with a lot of tricks up his sleeve."
"—Plus, I'll go join them after defeating you and help them beat that monster of a servant. Now, prepare yourself Archer." Cu gave a feral grin as he tightened his grip on his staff, and Archer did the same with his twin blades.
With that as the trigger, the battle between them had now begun. A battle that would end their current rivalry, and see who out of the two is truly the strongest.
