Ch 4 A Friend from the Future

"Marinette, where are we going?" Marinette led Adrien down the sidewalk, avoiding the damaged areas.

The bluenette turns to the blonde, smiling at him. "To the park," Marinette replied to his question. "I want somewhere relaxing so we can talk."

Adrien understands what his Lady was saying. "I see, that sounds the perfect place to talk…" he coughs, feeling guilty for ignoring her and the rest of their friends.

The two teenagers made it to the park nearby their homes. Luckily the park was untouched by the Attack Programs attack on the city, both sat down on the bench, looking at the bright blue sky.

Marinette looks over to Adrien, his face was serious like his mind is off somewhere. "Adrien,"

Adrien snaps back into reality, turning to the Hero of Creation. He smiles, scratching the back of his neck, "Sorry Marinette. I was…thinking to myself…"

"About Avenger?" Marinette inquires about the boy she has a crush on.

Adrien nodded, sighing at the bluenette targeting the mark. "Yeah, it's the promise that I made with him. I feel like I can't fulfill that promise." He admits, unsure how he would live up to the promise he made to himself.

Marinette saw Adrien in a bind with the promise, she placed her hand on his causing Adrien to turn to her. "Marinette?" Adrien blinks at her.

The bluenette looks at him, "Adrien, you're not alone in this." Marinette stated, her face serious and still. "I also made a promise with Avenger too, I promised to support you in any way possible." Marinette reminds her partner of that day.

"But this is my-"

"Don't, we are partners. We're meant to face anything together and support each other's problem personal or not." Marinette said to the blonde next to her. "This falls onto me, Adrien. You don't need to do this alone."

Adrien blinks at Marinette, he then smiles at the bluenette. He closes his eyes, giving her a bright smile. "Thank you, Marinette." He said, appreciating her speaking to him about this.

The Model began to chuckle causing the bluenette to look at him funny, "Why're you laughing?" Marinette raised her eyebrow, smiling at him. "Did I say something wrong?" She asked.

"It's just that what you said to me." Adrien looks at the aspiring Designer, happy that she is his Lady all these years. "I feel more relaxed that you're going to support me." He smiles at the bluenette.

Marinette nodded, feeling the same. "And I know you too will support me as well." She smiles,

Both Adrien and Marinette looked at each other before someone interrupted them. "You. Got. To. Be. Kidding. Me!" The two partners looked at the person they were familiar with coming his way.

"A-Alya!"

"Nino!?"

Adrien and Marinette blushed to see both Alya and Nino coming up to them from the other side of the park. "W-What are you two doing here?" Marinette asked her best friend.

Alya grins, seeing both her boyfriend's best friend and her best friend sitting together in new outfits. "Oh, we were just on our way to see if I can get an interview with one of the Heroes or Ritsuka who helped save Paris," Nino stated before being interrupted by Alya.

"But!" Alya came closer to the two of them, making Marinette feel warm with nervousness. "To see both of you, our oblivious Model boy and our nervous clumsy Marinette sitting together and talking with no stuttering…" She giggles, seeing the two that highly to get together are together this soon in life.

"Well, it's intriguing that after all our scheming to get you guys together has been for nothing," Alya smirks at her best friend, inquiring how the two got together. "So tell us, girl, how did you manage to speak to Adrien without stuttering?" She asked.

Marinette blushed, looking at Adrien for help. "(Help)" She whispers, begging for his help through her eyes.

Adrien looks at Nino who shrugs, being the one who tried to convince Alya to leave them be. "(Sorry Dude, she has power over me.)" Nino whispers over to his best friend.

The Model looks over to both Alya and Marinette, "Um…you know that day that Marie Alter attacked? We got separated and Marinette was about to get killed by the Attack Programs." Adrien explains.

"O-Oh, right after um…we got separated, I encounter the Attack Programs and Adrien saved me by pulling me away from them and sorta ran away together…" Marinette scratches her cheeks, looking at Adrien to support his story.

Adrien looks back at their friends, "Eventually, one of Heroes-er I mean Servants saved us and took us to one of the safe houses they set up, pretty much the end is what everyone else experienced." He smiles, giving a charming smile to better convince their story.

Alya looks at the two, trying to find some holes in the story they gave them. She leans back, looking at her boyfriend. "Nino, do you find their story plausible?" She asked for a second eye to this.

Nino looks at their friends, trying to see what his girlfriend sees. "Don't know Alya, they seem to be telling the truth." The young teen stated, "I mean you gotta give them some slack, it was a strange and uncertain day, Alya."

Alya sighs, dropping her prowling. "Alright, I'll leave it for now." She points at the two still retaining a smile. "But I want to hear more of the deets when you guys are ready to tell. Right, Nino?" She winks, knowing that the story they have is fabricated at some points.

"Of course, it's shocking to see you two being together knowing Marinette-er no offense." Nino apologies to the bluenette Hero.

Both Marinette and Adrien sighs relieved that Alya dropped the topic for now. The bluenette looks at the blonde Model thinking about what she was thinking. 'Should we tell her?'

Adrien thought for a moment before shaking his head, feeling it was too soon to tell both their friends about them.

Alya shifts her eyes to the left and saw a few Chaldean Soldiers led by Napoleon heading to the Mayor's office. "Oh! there's Emperor Napoleon with some…um Chaldea's Soldiers." She looks back at the two sitting on the bench. "Sorry guys, but there's Emperor Napoleon and I'm not the one who gives up an opportunity." She smiles, grabbing onto Nino.

"W-Wha!? Alya take it easy-"

"Sorry Nino, but really come on; we need to catch up with them before we lost them again," Alya stated, pulling him over to the left.

Nino looks at their friends waving at them. "Sorry Dudes, but this is Alya we're talking about," Nino explains that both Heroes understand completely. "To be honest I have some questions for myself for Napoleon." He smiles at them.

Marinette nodded, motioning for them to go on ahead. "It's fine, Nino. It's rare to meet someone from the past that you can speak to." The bluenette said.

"Yeah, go do whatever you need to do," Adrien added,

"Thanks you guys, but we're going to talk about this more later," Alya smirks, still wanting to know what's the deal between the two of them.

Both Marinette and Adrien watch their friends leave the park, leaving them alone. "Well, that was something." Adrien chuckles, looking at his partner.

Marinette sighs with a small on her face. "You know Alya and Nino, pretty much they were trying to get the both of us together." She explains, a bit embarrassed by this from the two of them.

"I didn't notice, I guess I'm that oblivious when it comes to those things." Adrien sighs, smiling at one of his flaws.

A hand rested over his arm, causing Adrien to look at Marinette. "Don't worry, Adrien. Everyone has their flaws, even me." Marinette giggles, ensuring that it's nothing to be concerned over. "Try not to loom over it, Kitty," She smiles.

Adrien chuckles, liking the name she gave him. "Thanks, Bugaboo." He smirks at her, receiving a playful shrug from his Lady.

Both Heroes laugh, enjoying each other company that they didn't notice a shadow looming over them.

The shadow jumps from behind them and appeared in front of the two. Adrien and Marinette jumped seeing a Rabbit-themed Hero standing before them. "Y-You're-"

"Minibug, Kitty Noir, I need your help." The woman has maroon hair and wears a Rabbit themed costume.

"Bunnyx! What brings you here to our time?" Marinette asked the Hero of the Last Chance.

Adrien steps forward, also curious about her appearance. "You look pale and tired, what happened to you?" The Model asked the Hero.

Bunnyx looks around the park, she saw a few civilians in public. She then looked at the alleyway just a few feet away from where they stood. "Let's speak somewhere where we can have some privacy." Her eyes looked over to the alleyway.

The duo looks at where Bunnyx's eyes were darting at. Both saw the alleyway and caught on to what she was motioning. "Alright, we can do that," Marinette answered,

Bunnyx leads the young Heroes to the alleyway where they can talk privately. "So what brings you to the past, Bunnyx? The last time we saw each other was the incident with Timetagger." Adrien asked the Hero of the future.

"W-We have a HUGE situation in the future," Bunnyx stated, looking at the only hope to resolve it. "I'm sure from what I gather around here that you faced the Eternal Empire,"

Marinette paused, hearing what the Superhero said. "Wait, you know about the Eternal Empire too, Bunnyx?" She asked the maroon-haired woman.

Bunnyx nodded, her face expressing months of constant fighting and running. She sighs, leaning back on the brick wall, "Yeah, they invaded my time out of nowhere. Not even the Mircale League could take them down," She informed them.

"Are you telling us that the team of Superheroes we supposedly made has been defeated?" Adrien asked, curious how did that happen. "How did that happened-the Empire…" He sighs finding the Empire to be an annoying opponent.

"Yeah, they…they killed everyone leaving only three including me and a few allies being the only ones to oppose the Emperor's rule," Bunnyx explains what happened in the future. "Two are seriously injured."

Marinette covered her mouth at what the Empire did to her friends. "O-Oh my God, that's horrible." She gasps, "How were you able to oppose the Eternal Empire if you have little numbers to oppose them?" She asked the Hero from the future.

Bunnyx stood properly and faced the two. "The allies that helped us, they are powerful. But I need to find Chaldea for further help." She informed the two Heroes of Paris.

Adrien looks at Marinette before returning their attention back to Bunnyx. "Why do you need Ritsuka's organization?" He asked, trying not to be rude.

Bunnyx looks around the alley, unsure who is watching them. "I can't tell you yet, well not here." She stated. "I can tell you on Chaldea's base along with the final master." The Hero of the Last Chance explains.

Marinette looks at Adrien before answering her. "We don't know where his base is. But we can tell one of the Servants or Soldiers around." The Hero of Creation explains to the maroon-haired woman.

"I think Marie and Jeanne can take us to their base," Adrien suggested to his Lady, seeing them nearby when coming to the park.

Bunnyx blinks at the two famous names. "You mean Marie Antoinette and Jeanne D'Arc? They're here?" She asked,

"Yeah, a lot more French Servants too," Tikki stated, coming out of her hiding place to speak with the Hero.

Plagg floated out of Adrien's pocket, crossing his arms. "There are also many more Heroes in Chaldea, I can feel them." He added.

Bunnyx blinks, now understanding why Caster of the Sakura Labyrinth wanting Chaldea's help. In any case, if getting Chaldea to help then her path for revenge for Kim will be closer.

Marinette nodded walking forward to the end of the alleyway. "I'm sure if we can find them they can show us the way to Chaldea." She stated.

"Lead the way, Minibug." Bunnyx smiles at the two.

The three Heroes made their way around the City in search of the French Servants.

Jeanne supervised the Chaldean Soldiers clearing any remnants of Attack Programs left behind from the fall of Marie Alter.

"Ha!" Jeanne pushed the Attack Program allowing the Soldiers to take the shot in finishing them off.

Marie slashed through the enemies, knocking a few off balance.

Two Chaldean Soldiers got in front of them. They aimed their weapons at the Attack Programs and shoots at them.

All remaining Attack Programs were destroyed. "Enemies defeated." The Soldiers reported to the two Servants.

"Keep your guard up, we're not sure how many enemies are still around," Jeanne announced to the small battalion.

"Ma'am!"

Marie steps next to the Ruler, turning to her. "Jeanne, do you sense something off heading towards us?" The Rider asked the Saint.

Jeanne nodded, sensing the same feeling she senses. "Yes, a Foreigner but-"

"Jeanne, Marie!" The two Chaldean Servants turn their heads and saw the Heroes of Paris walking up to them. Behind her was a woman in a punk rock outfit, however, her face was familiar. Another thing strange about her was the Spirit Origin she has, though weak.

Jeanne and Marie smile at the two Heroes, "Hello, Adrien, Marinette, what brings you here?" Marie asked the two Heroes.

The Ruler looks at Marinette, "Marinette, it's been a short while."

"Yeah it has, Jeanne, um listen we have a…friend that needs to speak with Ritsuka…" Marinette motions to the woman behind them,

The woman walks over to the two Servants, "Hey, my name is Bunnyx. I have an important message for your master from the future." Alix stated, allowing both Jeanne and Marie to look at each other.

A few hours later Jeanne and Marie led (Adult) Alix, Marinette, and Adrien with their Kwamis down the streets of Paris. The three looked around the City, trying to spot any base-like structure. "Um, if you don't mind Jeanne. But where is this base of yours, I know that abandoned complex acts as your base but that wasn't it was it?" Marinette asked her predecessor from another World.

"I am curious too, now looking around Paris I don't see anything sticking out as a secret base," Adrien added, following the Servants closely to the Seine River.

Alix smiles, raising her hand, "Is it underground? That's what the Resistance has been hiding for the past months." The maroon-haired woman suggested, thinking that might be the case.

Marie giggled, turning her head to the Heroes of her Homeland. "You may say it, the location of our base is a bit…liquidly." The former Queen of France smiles, hinting at where it's located.

Marinette, Adrien, and Alix thought for a moment about where the Border was, that is until the bluenette looks at the Seine River. "O-Oh, you got to be-your base is in the Seine River!?" Marinette gaped at where it was located. They approach the stairs, standing near the river's

"H-How is that possible!? The only thing that could explain is that your base is-" Adrien saw a ripple in the air, then a black portal appeared.

Marinette and Adrien were about to transform when an Egyptian woman with purple hair and long ears steps forward. "Marie, Jeanne, been awhile. How's your time in your Homeland with master?" Nitocris asked the Heroes of Paris.

"It's been eventful, Caster." Marie greeted the Egyptian Servant, she turns to the Humans behind them. "Everyone, this is Caster. Another of our master's Servants." She introduced the Caster from the Camelot Singularity.

"So you guys aren't the only Servants that Ritsuka has," Adrien commented, seeing the Egyptian Servant as evidence of that.

"Indeed, there's a lot in the Storm Border but I'll leave that explanation to our master," Nitocris stated to the Heroes.

Jeanne looks back with a smile. "Unfortunately, for reasons you know we can't exactly risk revealing our location to the enemy so travel between the Storm Border and the surface is restricted." The Saint explains to the group. "Caster here deliver the rest of the French Servants and supplies you saw to the surface. Other than that-"

"I can't do repetitive portals for that drains my Mana rather quickly," Nitocris explains, before stepping off the portal. "Consider this as a special invite for friends of our master." She smiles, placing her staff firmly on the ground.

Alix shrugs, "I've made it this far, I'm not turning back on my allies in the Resistance." She walks forward, being the first to enter the black portal.

Marinette sighs, taking in a deep breath. "Let's go, Adrien. I'm sure Bunnix needs us more than we know." The bluenette stated,

"Yes, let's support our friend Marinette." Adrien walks forward with Marinette closely behind her. They stared at the portal, feeling darkness within it,

"Don't worry, I made it safe for Humans to enter." Nitocris ensures the Heroes of Paris that everything is safe. "The only feeling you will be feeling is a sense of an out-of-body experience." She explains to the two teens.

Adrien gulps, "I-I see…" he looks down at Plagg who shook his head at the concept. "W-Welp, nothing more exciting than an out-of-body adventure." He chuckles, entering the portal with Marinette following suit.

"Well, welcome back home as they say." Marie smiles, entering the portal with Jeanne following her and Nitocris entering last to close the portal.

Adrien and Marinette opens their eyes, and from the bright light clearing, they were shocked. Once the light faded, they were greeted by a futuristic-looking hallway with many Staff and Servants moving along.

There was a red-haired Japanese girl with a blue large, armored Samurai behind her speaking to another black-haired girl in a military dress with an eyepatch over her left eye in the hallways.

A small blond boy with a sheep on his head conversing with a white-haired woman floating over him with a bear next to her as they enter what seems to be the cafeteria.

Exiting the cafeteria was twin sisters, one with a red elephant on her head and the other with a blue one on top of hers. Both were speaking with the two Staff members who were from the same country as them.

Adrien, Alix, and Marinette were in awe at the many and different verity of people walking in the halls of the Storm Border. "T-This unreal," Marinette spoke.

"T-This is amazing! I never knew this place existed!" Adrien chuckles, a wide smile was plastered on his face.

Alix looked around, in the window was a strange aura covering the entire haul. "W-What a sight, I-I'm finally here." She smiles, feeling her pocket shift.

Tikki, Plagg, and Fluff came out of their hiding spots, feeling familiar auras around them. "So many Heroes! So many people, I can't keep track of it!" The Rabbit Kwami stated, looking around hastily.

"I can feel so many familiar auras of our past owners!" Tikki held onto Plagg, her excitement was exploding from her heart. "Think of it, Plagg! We got to meet our old owners!"

Plagg patted her friend's head, "Calm down Tikki, calm down. I know how you get when you're this excited." The Kwami of Destruction stated.

"T-This is breathtaking," Marinette turns to Jeanne, Marie, and Nitocris exiting from the portal. "What is this place?" She smiles, feeling excited.

"Welcome to the Chaldea Security Organization's Interdimensional mobile base." Everyone turns around to a man in black robes and slick back hair holding a cane. "I am known as Ruler, the Advisor of the director of Chaldea, Ritsuka Fujimaru. Welcome, Ms. Dupain-Cheng, Mr. Agreste, and Ms. Kubdel to the Storm Border."

Alix smiles, liking the name. "Alright, that's one sick name for this base!" She exclaims before clearing her throat. "I-I mean, it's cool." She said, trying to be the adult.

Jeanne taps on Marinette's shoulder causing her to turn to her. "We'll leave you be here," She stated,

"Wait, you're not coming you two?" Marinette asked the Servants.

"We do have a job on the surface to finish, Ruler will take care of you from here." Marie waved at them before a portal appeared behind them.

Tikki floated next to her current owner, inclining her head to the Saint of the Flag and former Queen of France. "Thank you for guiding us to Chaldea, Jeanne, Marie." The Kwami thanked the two Servants for helping them.

Marie smiles at them before reentering the portal that leads them to the surface.

Marinette turns back to Holmes waiting for them to complete their farewell. "I take it you finish with your farewells, Ms. Dupain-Cheng?" Holmes asked the young Heroine.

"You're good, Minibug?" Alix looks back at the bluenette behind her.

Adrien looks at his partner, "Is there something bothering you, Marinette?" He asked the young Hero.

"Hope not, cause this place looks sweet!." Plagg stated before pondering about something else. "I wonder if they have Camembert in the cafeteria…"

Tikki sighs at the Kwami of Destruction. "Can't you just think anything else than cheese Plagg?" She asked.

Fluff giggles, floating around the two. "Tikki, you know we can't change Plagg's habits. It's his nature."

Marinette shook her head, "I'm good, a bit nervous being here but good." She smiles.

Holmes smiles, "Please follow me to the director's office," he heads down the halls, leading the three through the Storm Border.
