Walking through the abandoned house that contained Froslass was Ambrose, holding a flashlight in one hand and his EMF reader in the other. With a serious expression on his face, the teenage ghost hunter looked down at the dusty wooden floor for any signs of Froslass.
"The house feels thirty below in temperature... Given Froslass' second typing of Ice, makes sense she's using her powers to lower the temps to make it more hospitable for herself." Ambrose thought as he put his flashlight in his mouth, put away his EMF reader into his pockets and then placed his hands in them to warm himself up. "Wish I could have set up my cameras to check out this place the normal way. Now I'm just playing "Meowth's and Rattata's" because I'm in her domain..." He thought as he walked through an entryway into the kitchen.
Looking around, Ambrose checked under a nearby kitchen table and then over to the nearby fridge, opening the door to the freezer and looking inside for any signs of Froslass.
"Hmmmmm..." Ambrose muttered as he pulled back out his EMF reader and proceeded to scan the freezer. "Figured she might be using this as a hiding hole... Nope, gotta be somewhere else..." He thought as he closed the fridge door and continued to scan the room with his eyes.
Suddenly, a thud noise could be heard from the upper floors as Ambrose jerked his head upward, noticing the sound. Raising an eyebrow and looking around to see if he was being watched, Ambrose reached into the inner pocket of his coat and pulled out a Pokéball.
"Crawdaunt, come on out." Ambrose said with a quiet tone as the ball opened up.
Emerging from the beam of light was a red, crustacean-like creature of roughly the same height as Ambrose with a tan underside, circular eyes set within deep black sockets, a star shaped growth on its forehead and a pair of large pincers with spiked edges with two sets of hind limbs.
"Crawdaunt!" Crawdaunt exclaimed as it raised its pincers overhead.
"Shhhh!" Ambrose muttered, attempting to silence his Pokémon as it winced. "Great... Now we lost the element of surprise." He said towards Crawdaunt, scolding it.
"Crawcraw." Crawdaunt said as it shifted its body to get a good look at its surroundings.
"We're going upstairs." Ambrose said as he pointed towards the ceiling, Crawdaunt nodding in response.
Walking out of the kitchen and then heading up the stairs, Ambrose and Crawdaunt reached the second floor as Ambrose pointed his flashlight into the bedrooms until he looked in one room and then noticed something shifting near a closet.
"Found you..." Ambrose thought with a serious expression on his face as he walked into the room and then opened up the closet.
Finding nothing but old sheets and clothes that had tears in them, Ambrose made a confused expression until he looked upward to notice a hole in the ceiling that led to the attic. Turning around and looking at Crawdaunt, he motioned for the Water and Dark type to join him in going further up as he climbed inside.
"Nowhere to run!" Ambrose shouted as Crawdaunt climbed up and stood behind him in the attic.
Deep within the darkness of the night, Froslass' yellow eyes glowed from within the shadows as Ambrose locked eyes with the Ghost and Ice type Pokémon.
"Frooooossss!" Froslass exclaimed with a ghostly wail as she crawled towards Ambrose with her legless lower half dragging on the floor.
"Crawdaunt! Use "Night Slash!"' Ambrose said as Crawdaunt jumped over him with its right pincer glowing with a black and purple aura.
"Crawdaunt-craw!" Crawdaunt shouted as it struck Froslass in the back with its super effective attack.
"Laaaaasss!" Froslass muttered in pain as she got up from the floor and floated into the air above the ground and then glared at Crawdaunt. "Froslass-lass!" She grunted in anger towards Crawdaunt.
"Daunt!" Crawdaunt said in response.
"Crawdaunt! "Night Slash!" One more time!" Ambrose ordered as Crawdaunts right pincer glowed again.
"Froooosss!" Froslass said as she breathed in. "Laaaaassss!" She exhaled as a torrent of cold snow came out of her mouth.
"Guh! "Blizzard!"' Ambrose thought. "Dodge!" He ordered as Crawdaunt jumped out of the way of the Ice type attack, losing the aura around its pincer as the room became even colder. "Brrrrr!" Ambrose grunted from the cold air as he rubbed his arms to generate heat.
"Froslass!" Froslass said as she generated a ball of purple and black energy in-between her hands.
"Oh! A chance to end this quickly!" Ambrose thought as he noticed the move that Froslass what about to use. "Crawdaunt, stand your ground!" He ordered as Crawdaunt put up its pincers in a defensive manner.
"Craw!" Crawdaunt said, following the command.
"Lass!" Froslass exclaimed as she threw the ball of black and purple energy, Crawdaunt tanking the hit as smoke formed. "Froslass?!" She said in shock as Crawdaunt was unphased by the attack as the crustacean Pokémon locked eyes with the female Ghost and Ice type.
'"Shadow Ball" is a Ghost type move. Crawdaunt is a Dark type. That move barely did a scratch, dummy." Ambrose said while shivering. "Guh! Cold!" He thought while continuing to rub his arms for warmth. "Crawdaunt! Weaken her with "Liquidation!"' Ambrose ordered as Crawdaunt opened up its right pincer and out came a sharp beam of blue energy.
"Crrrraaawww!" Crawdaunt shouted as the Water and Dark type slashed Froslass in the center of her body, knocking her to the ground.
"Froooss..." Froslass said with a weak voice.
"Go! Dusk Ball!" Ambrose said as he pulled out a green and black Pokéball and chucked it at Froslass, her body digitizing and going inside of the ball.
Landing on the ground, the ball shook three times before stopping, signifying a capture. Breathing a sigh as he felt the cold air start to dissipate, Ambrose walked over to the Dusk Ball and picked it up from the ground.
"Nice work..." Ambrose said with a tired tone towards his Pokémon. "Come on, let's get out of here. Tamara's probably bored." He said as he pulled out Crawdaunt's Pokéball, recalling it.
Meanwhile, next door in another abandoned house, Keats was in the living room as he reached behind the old television set and tried to unplug it. Standing nearby from him was his Stunky, Timburr and Swalot, who were out of their balls and the Fighting type was holding the television to keep it from falling.
"Swaaaaa." Swalot said as he looked over in the direction of the kitchen.
"There's probably no food in the fridge, Swalot. These old, dilapidated homes never have anything good so the fact we found a decent TV like this is a steal." Keats said towards his large blob-like Pokémon.
"Stunktunk-y?" Stunky said towards Keats.
"Wondering what I meant? I only did this once before and that was when my aunt Claunaid died." Keats said as he finally pulled the plug out of the socket as he and Timburr let go of the TV. "She died when I was nineteen, left nothing to any of her family members in her will, left everything she owned to rot in her house. So, I broke in and took a few things she owned like her toaster oven, a collection of old cellphones and a hair curler stand." He continued as he looked at all of his Pokémon making confused faces as Keats noticed their expressions. "No! I didn't use the damn hair curlers! I sold them to a pawn shop! Don't look at me like that!" Keats exclaimed in his defense.
"Timburr-timb." Timburr said as he picked up his log from the floor.
"Aunt Claunid was a freak of nature. Her butt was the size of a damn globe." Keats said while making a large circle with his hands. "She always used to say "come here, little nephew! Come here" and stick me between her funky looking breasts, man! She always smelled like Pecha Berries and asparagus! She would cook these weird things called "Fried Mankey Balls," I had zero idea what the heck were in them, but they tasted like they were four days old! She was a scary piece of work!" He ranted as he started to make a disturbed face as his Pokémon were starting to get frightened by their trainers' strange behavior. "She used to pester me and Marie to-... I'll shut up now." Keats continued until he noticed the bothered states of his Pokémon and proceeded to stop with his absurd babbling.
"Stunky." Stunky said as Timburr scratched the side of his face.
"Swalot-lot?" Swalot said as he turned around and suddenly noticed something move out of view from the entryway Keats came into the living room from.
"Hey Swalot, everything cool?" Keats said as he noticed his Poison type blob-like creature.
"Swaaa." Swalot said as he turned back around to face Keats.
"Stunky-tunk." Stunky said with a smirk towards Swalot.
"Swa-swa!" Swalot said with a glare towards the skunk-like Pokémon. "Lotlot-swa." He said as Stunky looked at Swalot with a confrontational gaze.
"Stunk!" Stunky replied.
"You guy's alright?" Keats said as he noticed his Poison type Pokémon were picking on each other. "Timburr, can you do something here?" He said towards his Fighting type as Timburr nodded and got in-between Stunky and Swalot.
"Timburr-timb." Timburr said as he looked at Stunky and Swalot before the pair of Poison types turned away from each other.
"Man, I really wish Rotom was here to translate..." Keats said as all three of Pokémon look at him. "...Do not tell Rotom I said that I need the guy, okay?" He said with a disgruntled expression on his face as he failed to notice a blue tentacle was crawling along the ground behind his Pokémon.
"Swalot-lotlotlot." Swalot said towards Keats while pointing his tiny three fingered right left hand towards Stunky as he looked at the large blob-like creature.
"Stunkytunk-tunktunkstunk!" Stunky said towards Keats while lifting his right claw at Swalot.
"Timburr-timbtimb." Timburr said towards Keats as Swalot and Stunky went back to glaring at each other.
"Okay, how the hell am I supposed to steal crap if you're both arguing?! This is affecting my priorities!" Keats exclaimed while scratching his head in frustration.
"Timb-burr?" Timburr said until he suddenly noticed something wrap around his left foot. "Timburr!" He exclaimed as he suddenly fell forward and was quickly dragged along the ground.
"Timburr?!" Keats shouted as the two Poison types stopped looking at each other to notice Timburr being pulled across the floor. "Oh no!" He exclaimed as he grabbed Timburr by the hands to try and help him.
"Aiaiai!" A voice suddenly bellowed as Keats looked up and noticed a recognizable purple monkey-like Pokémon with a glowing fist on the end of its tail descending towards him.
"Huh- blurgh!" Keats muttered until suddenly getting punched in his face, falling onto his butt and letting go of Timburr.
"Timburrrrr!" Timburr said as he was dragged upstairs, his body banging against the steps as he was being pulled.
"Stunky!?" Stunky said as he and Swalot locked eyes with the small chimp Pokémon that struck their trainer as another creature that looked like a purple balloon with string-like arms, a yellow x on its face and a white fuzzy tuft on the top of its head floated into the room.
"Aiaiaia." The monkey-like Pokémon said with an angry face and its tail with a hand on it swinging.
"Looooon." The balloon-like Pokémon said.
"The hell?!" Keats said as he rubbed his cheek in pain. "An Aipom and a Drifloon!?" He said in surprise.
"Stunky-tunk!" Stunky said with a confrontational tone.
"Swa!" Swalot said with a similar voice.
"Looon! Looon!" Drifloon wailed with a ghostly tone.
"Aiaiaiaia!" Aipom muttered as it pointed at Keats with an angry expression.
"The heck's your prob-" Keats said until his mind began to wander. "Wait... That blind girl said this place was haunted... I must have awoken the ghosts of an Aipom and whatever grabbed Timburr when I was trying to steal the television!" He thought, the truth going over his head as he jumped back to his feet. "Guys, it's the ghost of an Aipom and that Drifloon is his accomplice!" Keats said as he pointed at Aipom and Drifloon.
"Stunky?" Stunky replied as the Aipom and Drifloon were bewildered at Keats' declaration.
"Swalalala?" Swalot said with confusion.
"And they're trying to take Timburr to the other side! Well, you're not taking my Pokémon so let's fight!" Keats said with wide and angry eyes.
"Stunky!" Stunky said, readying himself for battle.
"Swalalala!" Swalot said with a similar expression.
"Aiaia?" The wild Aipom muttered with confusion as it turned towards Drifloon, the balloon-like Pokémon raising its arms in a befuddled manner.
"Loon?" Drifloon said while pointing at Keats.
"I am not a "loon!"' Keats screamed, causing Aipom and Drifloon to be taken aback by his sudden emotional outburst of anger.
"Aiaiaipom!" Aipom said as it pointed one of the fingers on its tail at Keats as Drifloon nodded.
"Drifloooon!" Drifloon bellowed.
Putting its yellow heart-like hands together, Drifloon charged up a black and purple ball of energy for a "Shadow Ball" attack. Throwing it at Keats, the husky framed trainer put his arms up in a defensive manner until Swalot shimmied in front of the attack and breathed in, using "Stockpile" to minimize the damage and tank the hit.
"Swaaaa!" Swalot said with an angry tone as its body glowed for a brief moment.
"Loooon!" Drifloon replied in response.
"Thanks for the cover, Swalot." Keats said with a relieved tone as Stunky looked at his fellow Poison type Pokémon.
"Stuuuuuuunk!" Stunky growled as Swalot grinned at the skunk-like Pokémon. "Tunky-tunk!" He said in Keats' direction.
"Huh? You want to fight too? Well, alright then." Keats said towards Stunky as Stunky looked at Aipom and Drifloon. "Stunky is a Dark type, he's got an advantage over a Ghost type." He thought. "Stunky, aim for Drifloon with your "Dark Pulse!"' Keats ordered.
"Stuuunk!" Stunky said as he charged up black and purple energy in front of him and fired a coiled beam at Drifloon.
"Aiaiai!" Aipom muttered as it placed its hand on its tail on the ground and used it as a stand to get in front of Drifloon. "Poom!" It said as a green orb-like barrier formed around it, the "Dark Pulse" colliding against the barrier and failing to do any damage.
"Stunk?!" Stunky said with surprise.
"Wait, I remember that move. That was "Protect!"' Keats exclaimed.
"Aiaiai!" Aipom said as it jumped back down to the ground and turned around.
Swinging its tail, a series of star-shaped projectiles came out. Slamming into both Stunky and Swalot, the two were knocked back and bumped into Keats, sending him falling backwards and his back hitting the screen of the television, shattering it.
"Gargh!" Keats grunted as shards of screen glass fell onto the ground behind him. "Ow! Ugh! Damn it, the TV broke!" He complained in pain as he looked at the old broken television as Swalot and Stunky looked at their trainer.
"Aiaia?!" Aipom exclaimed in shock.
"Looon?!" Drifloon muttered in surprise.
"Aiaiaia!" Aipom shouted in an angered tone.
"So much for pawning it..." Keats said as the wild Pokémon overheard what he said. "Maybe the TV was theirs and they awoke from their undead slumber to get revenge for me taking it. Man, ghosts are weird." He thought, still missing the point.
"Aiiii!" Aipom screamed in anger as its hand on its tail started to charge up with energy. "Pompom!" The purple monkey said towards Drifloon as the balloon-like Pokémon waved its thin arms.
"Drifff!" Drifloon muttered as a series of blue buzzsaw blade-like projectiles formed and flew in the direction of Swalot and Stunky.
"Do-dodge!" Keats muttered as he got back to his feet, prompting Stunky and Swalot to move out of the way. "We got to hurry and save Timburr!" He thought. "Stunky, aim for Drifloon with "Dark Pulse!" Swalot, use "Sludge Bomb" on Aipom!"' Keats ordered as Aipom jumped at Swalot, its tail fist glowing for a punch on the purple blob-like Pokémon.
"Swaa!" Swalot exclaimed as he opened his massive mouth and out came a series of round toxic blobs, slamming into Aipom and cancelling out its punch attack as Aipom went flying backwards, crashing through the railing of the nearby staircase.
"Ai!" Aipom grunted as it landed on one of the steps.
"Looon?! Drifdrif!" Drifloon said as its partner was reeling from the attack before charging up another "Shadow Ball" attack.
"Stunky!" Stunky said as he fired another "Dark Pulse" at Drifloon, slamming into Drifloon's ball of energy before it could throw it and causing a small explosion.
With the explosion blowing a small hole in the ceiling above everyone, Keats and his Pokémon put their arms up to block themselves from the shockwave. Floating underneath the hole, Drifloon looked upward as two small beings fell through it and landed on Drifloon, causing the Ghost and Flying type Pokémon to hit the floor.
"Loon!" Drifloon muttered as it landed on the floor with a familiar Fighting type Pokémon and an unfamiliar mass of blue vines with large white eyes and red feet fighting on top of it.
"Timburr!" Timburr muttered as he tried to fight his way out of the long vines that were wrapping around him.
"Tang!" The massive of blue vines said with an agitated tone.
"Timburr! Great, now a Tangela too?! How many "not" Ghost type Pokémon that are ghosts are in this stupid place?!" Keats exclaimed as he grabbed Timburr's log that was left on the ground from when Timburr was dragged upstairs. "Catch your log and get that Tangela off of you!" He shouted as Timburr caught his log from Keats tossing it towards him and proceeded to use it to separate himself from the wild Tangela by pushing it against its body.
"Timburr!" Timburr said as he picked up the vine-like Pokémon on the end of his squared log and threw it towards Aipom, the purple monkey-like creature jumping out of the way.
"You okay?" Keats asked towards his Fighting type with concern as he ran back to the side where his allies were.
"Swalala." Swalot said towards Timburr.
"Stunktunk." Stunky said.
"Timburr-timb." Timburr said with a nod towards everyone, signifying he was okay.
"Aiaiai!" Aipom said with angry tone as Drifloon floated back into the air and Tangela got back to its feet, jumping onto the floor as Keats and his Pokémon looked on with confrontational expressions.
"At least we're a full group- uh." Keats thought until he suddenly heard some creaking in the floor below everyone. "Uhhh... Anyone else hear that?" He said as all of the Pokémon stopped glaring for a brief moment.
Feeling the floor started to cave in, a massive hole formed as Keats and all of the Pokémon, minus Drifloon who was floating above the ground, plummeted into the basement of the abandoned house. Landing on the concrete of the basement that only consisted of some support pillars and a heater with all of his Pokémon on top of him, Keats was stirring in pain as Drifloon floated over to check on Tangela and Aipom.
"Arugh!" Keats groaned as Timburr and his log had landed on his knees, Swalot was on top of his abdomen and Stunky had landed on his head and face. "Well... It is an old house-" He thought until Stunky suddenly passed wind. "Glargh!" Keats exclaimed as Stunky's foul-smelling fart caused him to squirm out from under his Pokémon.
"Timburr!" Timburr grunted in similar frustration as he clutched at his nose.
"Swalala." Swalot said as he stirred back upright, not minding the terrible odor.
"Urgh!" Keats said in annoyance. "I better not get pink eye because of that!" He shouted at Stunky as the skunk-like Pokémon made an embarrassed expression.
"Stunktunk..." Stunky said while rubbing the back of his head with one of his front claws.
"Aiaiaia!" Aipom said as it and Tangela got back up to their feet with Drifloon joining them in confronting Keats and his Pokémon once more.
"Tangelala!" Tangela muttered.
"Driffff!" Drifloon exclaimed.
"This sucks!" Keats shouted as all three of his Pokémon looked back at him. "This would be so much easier if we had some more effective moves!" He thought as he watched on.
"Aipom!" Aipom shouted as it turned around once more and begun to swing its tail, firing off star-shaped projectiles once again.
"It's using "Swift" again!" Keats said loudly as Timburr picked up his log from the ground.
"Timb!" Timburr said as he raised his log up to use as a shield, spinning it around to block the "Swift" attack. "Timburr-timbtim!" The Fighting type exclaimed towards Swalot and then towards Stunky.
"Tangela!" Tangela said as some of its tentacles began to wriggle and Drifloon put its hands together while glowing with more dark energy.
"Stunk!" Stunky said with a nod as Keats looked at his Pokémon.
"Looks like Timburr is rallying the troops better than I ever could." Keats thought.
"Swalot!" Swalot said, also nodding as Keats started to notice Swalot had begun to spark up with blue electricity.
"Swalot?" Keats said in confusion as he looked at his Poison type Pokémon.
"Stuuunk!" Stunky said as Keats looked over to notice flames had begun to form from inside Stunky's open mouth.
"Stunky?!" Keats said, even more confused as Timburr looked up to notice a steel beam that was in-between two points of the hole that was made when everyone fell in.
"Timb!" Timburr said as he dropped his log on the ground and jumped into the air, grabbing the steel beam with both hands and hanging from the ceiling as everyone looked on. "Timburrrrrr!" He exclaimed as his body suddenly glowed.
"Whoa, Timburr!?" Keats said in shock as his Fighting type Pokémon was glowing brightly until Timburr begun to grow larger in size and gain even more muscle mass.
Gone was his small form as his head was now covered in bumps, his nose was round and red, and his veins were more pronounced and darker purple. Still hanging, the Pokémon that used to be Timburr pulled on the steel beam he was holding onto and landed back on the concrete floor with the beam held over his shoulder.
"Gurdurr!" The Pokémon that used to be Timburr said loudly with a confident sounding tone.
"Timburr evolved!" Keats exclaimed. "Into what I don't know!" He thought.
"Swalot!" Swalot exclaimed as he put his tiny three-fingered hands together and let loose a beam of blue electrical energy in the direction of Drifloon.
"Loo-lolololoon!" Drifloon said until getting zapped with an electrical attack, plummeting to the ground and passing out with its eyes swirling, signifying its unconscious state.
"Tangela?!" Tangela said in surprise as it and Aipom looked at Drifloon's unconscious body. "Tang-tang!" It said as it turned towards Keats' Pokémon and proceeded to jump into the air, ready to attack.
"Stunnnnk-ky!" Stunky said as he let loose a torrent of fire from his mouth, enveloping Tangela as the Grass type Pokémon was sent flying backwards in the direction of a nearby wall.
"Taannng... Ela..." Tangela said whilst embedded in the wall before falling to the ground and its eyes swirling into an unconscious state.
"Aiaiai?!" Aipom said as it darted its head back and forth at its downed comrades. "Aiai-pom?" It continued until it noticed someone looming over it as the Pokémon that used to be Timburr was casting a shadow over the monkey-like Normal type Pokémon.
"Gur." The Pokémon that used to be Timburr said with a malicious grin as he put down the steel beam he was holding and proceeded to lift his right hand overhead as it glowed with an orange aura. "Durrr!" He said as he brought down his hand with tremendous force onto Aipom's head, causing the monkey-like Pokémon to crack the concrete and fall into a state of unconsciousness, just like its fellow wild Pokémon.
"Whoa! What the heck was all of that!?" Keats exclaimed in shock as all of his Pokémon turned to look at him. "Why do you look so "swole" now and what was that last move?! And when could you spit fire?! And when could you shoot electricity from your tiny mitts!?"" He said in surprise at the sudden series of events that happened.
"Gurdurur!" The Pokémon that used to be Timburr said as he picked up the steel beam over his shoulder and walked over to Keats, grabbing the old log from when he was a Timburr off the ground. "Gurdurr." He said with a smile as he handed the log to Keats.
"...I'm guessing I should be calling you "Gurdurr" instead of Timburr now?" Keats said with a bewildered expression on his face as he held the log in his hands.
"Gurdurr!" Gurdurr said with a smile on his face as Stunky and Swalot looked on as he raised his free hand with an open palm.
"High five?" Keats questioned as he raised one of his hands and exchanged high fives with his Fighting type Pokémon.
"Swalalala!" Swalot said as he started to charge up blue electricity once again, facing Stunky.
"Huh?" Keats said as Gurdurr turned around and noticed what Swalot was doing.
"Swa!" Swalot said as he fired off another beam of blue electricity at the Poison and Dark type Pokémon.
"Stunk!" Stunky exclaimed in pain as he was pushed back by the attack. "Stunky-tunk?!" He said with an angered tone before exhaling fire once again, the force sending Swalot back some ways.
"Swa!" Swalot screamed in pain.
"Are you kidding me!?" Keats shouted in annoyance as his Poison types were fighting each other again.
"Gurdurrur." Gurdurr said with a bothered tone and a headshake.
"Seriously, why the heck are they fighting?" Keats said to himself as Stunky and Swalot rushed at one another, slapping each other with Swalot using his yellow whiskers and Stunky using his tail.
"Gurdurr." Gurdurr said as he pointed his right finger at Keats.
"Me? Why? What makes you think this is my fault!?" Keats said as looked at Gurdurr as Stunky charged up another fire attack again.
"Stunk-yyyyy!" Stunky screamed as he breathed fire a third time, aiming for Swalot as Swalot dodged it and the attack hitting the heater, causing it to start to turn bright red and begin to overheat.
"Gurdurr!" Gurdurr said as he pointed at the heater.
"Swalot?" Swalot said as he turned towards it.
"Stunky?" Stunky said with surprise.
"Uh..." Keats muttered. "Okay, I've worked on heaters enough times back home to know that's not a good sign..." He said, knowing what was about to happen.
Meanwhile, outside and still standing under the streetlight as she petted Ambrose's Furret, was Tamara. Coming outside of the abandoned house that had Froslass in it was Ambrose, approaching his partner in ghost hunting.
"Hey." Ambrose said with a calm tone. "Mission accomplished." He said.
"I can tell, your thoughts are filled with positive violence towards Ghost type Pokémon like usual." Tamara said as Furret walked over to Ambrose as he pulled out the Dusk Ball he used to catch Froslass.
"Don't act like I didn't do anybody a favor with removing this thing from that house. Now it's a livable location again." Ambrose said with a stern look in his eyes. "And besides, it's not even eight o'clock yet, we can get home to Lavender Town by the morning if we head to the bus station as soon as-" He continued until he suddenly heard the sound of a door opening and turned his head around to the house next door, spotting an unfamiliar large man holding a Tangela, an Aipom and a Drifloon in his arms.
"Crap! Crap! Crap! Crap! Crap!" Keats said repeatedly as he fast walked over to the street. "Damn it, I left my groceries in there!" He thought as he stopped on the road and looked left and right, unsure of where to go.
"You probably shouldn't forget those." Tamara said towards Keats as Ambrose, Furret and Crawdaunt made confused expressions.
"Shut up, you blind mind reader!" Keats screamed loudly as he turned in the direction of Ambrose and Tamara.
"Who's this?" Ambrose said as he pointed at the husky framed trainer that was sweating profusely.
"His name is Keats, and he went into that other house to try and fight Ghost Pokémon." Tamara explained as Ambrose raised an eyebrow before recalling Furret back into its ball.
"Well, he managed to find one but wrong house." Ambrose said as he pointed at the Drifloon in Keats' arms before pointing at the house Ambrose came out of.
"Yeah, now's not the time to talk, we gotta-" Keats said with a frantic voice before getting cut off by an explosion that blasted through the roof of the house, startling Ambrose, Tamara and Keats to the point they all ducked and Keats dropping Aipom, Tangela and Drifloon on the ground. "Go..." He continued while biting his lip and making a nervous expression.
"What was that?!" Tamara exclaimed as her head darted in other directions.
"The heck did you do?!" Ambrose said with a bothered and shocked look on his face.
"I'll explain when we get the heck out of here because I think if Officer Jenny finds me after what happened, I'm not going to be the main protagonist in this story any longer!" Keats said while running in place before grabbing Ambrose and Tamara by their wrists.
"Hey!" Ambrose said.
"Whoa!" Tamara shouted as Keats pulled the blind psychic girl and teenage paranormal investigator behind him away from the now burning house.
"Stop fighting me and run!" Keats shouted towards the teen and kid.
"Why the heck do we have to run?! You're the one responsible for what just happened!" Ambrose as he pulled away his hand and made Keats let go of Tamara's wrist.
"I'm sorry, are you implying that you didn't break into an abandoned house too and if you stay behind here, the police are not going to get suspicious of two odd looking kids in the dead of night hanging around the street with unoccupied homes!?" Keats said with furrowed brows as Tamara and Ambrose fell silent.
"...He actually makes a point, you know?" Tamara commented as Ambrose looked at his partner in disbelief.
"Are you siding with him?!" Ambrose replied in shock.
"I don't want to go to jail and be a "blind person in jail!" They won't let me keep my cane!" Tamara exclaimed.
"Listen to the eyeless girl!" Keats shouted towards Ambrose as Tamara took off her glasses to reveal her cloudy eyes.
"I have eyes!" Tamara screamed.
"Fine! Whatever! Can we go now!?" Ambrose said, finally agreeing for everyone to make a break for it.
Fireworks in the middle of June? What is this, a holiday? I mean, I'd probably just play with sparklers or something, you never commit accidental arson that way but what would I know, I'm just a- hold on... What happened? Ambrose defeated and caught Froslass and Keats battled an Aipom, Tangela and Drifloon in the other abandoned home? And Timburr evolved into a Gurdurr!? My god, what progress has happened under our very noses! And Keats thinks there won't be any surprises today... Oh Keats, it's only just beginning *jazz riff*
