The staff at Shogun Studios shot off fireworks when Mario, Olivia, and Bobby made their way out of the park. At the bridge, the three of them enjoyed the fireworks for a bit before they were to stop.
"Ma'am, Big M!"
"What? What's the matter, Bobby?" She lowered her voice. "Do you need to use the bathroom...?"
"What? No. I remember!"
"Remember-a what?"
"Everything!"
"Ooh, yay! Great for you, Bobby!"
"The fireworks reminded me of everything that happened! But out of all of them, the ones we made together were my favorite ones yet."
"Aww! You're so sweet!"
Bobby's face turned red, but it vanished quickly.
"That's-a good to hear!"
"Let's get on this boat and follow the Yellow Streamer!"
Once they returned to the boat, Bobby scooched closer to Mario.
"Um, Big M?"
"Hm?"
"I have a question about Olivia."
"Okay, what is-a it?"
"I...Well, I get a little...blushy around her. You know what I mean, right? I feel so silly every time, but she never really noticed. Um...why do I do that?"
Mario's face beamed. "You-a like her!"
"Well, yeah I do. But that's not what I asked."
"No, you love-like her."
Bobby's face turned bright red and he started sweating nervously. "R-really...? Like you and the Princess?"
Mario simply nodded.
Bobby returned his gaze to Olivia. "So, I love her and didn't know...And she doesn't know either?"
"Seems like-a it, Bobby."
Bobby smiled. "That's kind of sweet...in a way."
The boat stopped at a dock in a large valley.
"Here we are, the last stop on Eddy River Boat Tours. Welcome to Sweetpaper Valley. I hope you enjoyed the ride!" Mizu smiled at them as they left the boat. "Do you want me to wait here?"
Mario shook his head. "That's-a no problem! You can go back to your-a tuna."
"Thank you, Mario." He sighed. "Time to paddle upstream..." He aggressively paddled the boat away, back towards Autumn Mountain.
They walked forwards a bit before Olivia started getting excited about the scenery.
"I've never seen a real valley before! It's huuuuge!" She smiled at Mario and Bobby. "Us Origami Folk have a saying: 'For every valley fold, there is a mountain fold.' I think it talks about the ups and downs of life but, if this is how big a valley is, imagine how big a valley fold would look to my-crow-scoop-ic creatures! Wow!"
"No, it's definitely a love-like," Bobby agreed.
"Wee!" She flew on ahead.
"Olivia, wait up!" Bobby called, following her. Mario followed behind him.
"Well, well, well. Look who decided to crash the party."
Mario looked up. The faded king floated above the cave entrance the streamer went right past. Bobby gasped along with Olivia.
"Olly!"
"You seem...happier than Olivia said you acted."
"Well, of course I am! I found a way to restore my color without help from you peasants. I also got Scissors to his correct post, so his over-protective personality will no longer be getting in my way." He smiled. "The Princess is very lovely, by the way. She offered to help me reach the Fire Vellumental."
"What?!" Olivia asked. "No way she did that! You have to be lying!...Right?"
Olly shook his head, his bangs moving from his eyes for just a moment. "No; I would never lie to you, Olivia."
When Olly's eye had been shown, Mario noticed that Olly had no left eye. That struck him by surprise. How did he see clearly?
Mario pointed a hand at himself. "Um, your eye-"
"You do NOT speak about my eye!"
"But you're missing one!" Bobby said. "Does it hurt?"
"No, not anymore. Ever since I removed of HIM." He flicked his bangs. "You've gotten in my way quite enough, sister. But..." He floated higher.
"This ends now."
A giant boulder came rolling from the top of the cave entrance as Olly floated away. Olivia screamed and the boulder crushed her.
"OLIVIA!" Bobby ran over to the boulder. "Olivia? Are you okay?"
"Mmph...!"
"Big M, this isn't good at all! She was right, her brother is a psycho!"
"How do we-a save her?!"
Bobby calmed down and walked over to a small ledge. He closed his eyes and stood there for a minute before speaking.
"Yes...it's the only way."
"What? What is? Do you-a have an idea?"
"We need to set sail. I'll explain everything, I promise; but now's not the time to. We need to go back to Toad Town."
"But Olivia..."
"She'll be fine. We'll go quickly. Trust me. Please."
"Okay. Let's save Olivia."
